I have stayed at this motel a number of times over the last two years. Initinally $110, then more recently $150 three weeks ago for a great room and last night $178 for a room that I could not unlock because the door was so bowed the key would not unlock it, and the interior vertical blinds were missing panels that resulted in light from the outside fluro (on all night) lighting the room. Dont stay here if you need a good nights sleep to do 8-12 hrs drive the next day. New managers who were aware of the faults with the room. But nothing done. Look elsewhere.
Sonia
Easy one night stay with no dramas
Michael
Very basic room - but also came with an appropriately basic price
Susan
Nice place to stay
Gary
The room was reasonable clean and the bathroom was clean. Bedding was clean but bed was worn. Entry to the room had bear wires to air-conditioning which you had to walk past. Room was tired and worn. I wish I could add photos as that would tell the story as to the condition.
Karin
It was ok

Clean enough, good food good for an over night stop

Not good value for money, a bit over priced

The only reason we booked this room was to have a hot shower before heading to mundi mundi bash
NO hot water the night we arrived or in the morning

The door to the unit could not be locked from the inside. The hot water in the shower was barely lukewarm. Wardrobe door could not be opened because the carpet was higher than the door. there was cardboard taped across the opening above the door for whatever reason. The cold water tap in the basin could not be turned off and ran all night.
Damien
A bit old but served the purpose for the night

Unsatisfactory
We were not informed of no hot water for showers!!!!

Our room was terrible. Broken front window (that the manager told us not to worry about), exposed electrical conduit running down the side of the entrance door, room and bathroom were tiny and furnishings old and cheap, the fridge was also tiny with an iced up freezer that was unusable.

Good location although property needs a spruce up.

We had stayed at this motel before and we found it quite reasonable and comfortable. However, on this occasion we were very disappointed. See comments below.
Pros: Location was good. Room clean, air conditioner worked well.
Cons:
Room very small and cramped
No wardrobe or coat hangers
Uncomfortable mattress
Only one chair provided
No table, just a small bench top with just enough room for one person
Only saucers provided - no plates or bowls
Almost useless wooden disposable cutlery
No space for toiletries in bathroom nor was a face cloth provided.

1. Power points in my room went dead in the evening. Took more than an hour to get them reset. I also had power problems during my last stay so the electrical system at this motel seems dodgy.
2. No hot water in my room on the morning of departure. Had to have a cold shower which I really hate. At least one of the hot water systems out back were tripped offline.
3. Staff are rarely in reception. A mobile number is provided but it often goes to voicemail which is sometimes too full to leave messages.
4. Paint and fittings are showing their age. I don't think my room was worth the $170 per night that I paid for it.

Brian

Great service, very quiet, close to shops.

The room we got (#24) had absolutely nothing to do with the pictures you find online. Old, dark, worn, damaged (e.g. a knocked hole in the bathroom door), ugly, no noise insulation whatsoever to next door room/bathroom, carpet tiles that didn't fit and had gaps, a matress that weirdly felt like a kind of airbed, a double not a queen size bed, and a penetrating smell from something like those scented tree-shaped things you get for cars. The only reason I'm not giving one star is that the sheets and towels were clean, and no obvious dirt or hairs in the bathroom. In summary: waaaaay too overpriced for what was offered! This was worth 50$, not (almost) 150$.
Sue
Yes, the property is a little outdated but loved the bed and cleanliness, check in was easy and that means after a very long drive I could relax.
Chris
He property was not well maintained. The garden and grounds were were tidy and looked shabby.. The room itself was not at all as it appeared from n photos on website. The room was grubby, carpet was filthy with concrete visible underneath. The linen was very creased as if could have been unwashed or unironic. The only window did not open, the air conditioner was noisy and the room smelt.. I sprayed Glen 20 everywhere! I would not recommend..
William
Attached to a hotel. Noisy refregeration and room a/c not grear.

Average motel, no blanket on the bed, awful mattress. It does have a bar and restaurant.
Graeme
Property is very dated. Needs some TLC to bring it up to standard. Comfortable enough for one night if nothing else is available. It is close to the Cobar Mining Museum and Memorial Park, which is a must see for all first time visitors.
Sharlene
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and tidy. Close to main street and our venue.
David
Drive 13 hours from queensland, got yelled at by drunk *u**s drinking on the deck next to the entrance while i was driving in to the motel, and they kept gobbing off while i was getting my key, got into my 1970s room, ate all the biscuits, had a terrible 4 hours sleep in that awful bed and left before the sun came up.
Waste of 150, should have stayed in my van.

WiFi didn't exist. Could not use it at all. Being a major draw card when traveling, we will pay more to stay somewhere else that might spend the $100/month for an NBN service that works. Office closes at 15:00 which is wild.
Glenn
Great food at the restaurant, friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. Some parts a bit dated, such as the air conditioner but everything worked fine and was good value.
Adam
Restaurant & bar top notch.
Room clean and no road noises out back.

Room is very run down
Room was very run down. Needed the carpet cleaned, red dirt very visible in the dark grey carpet. Lighting in the room is terrible. Bathroom cabinet needs to be replaced. These are the bad points.
Good points, bed clean good price, most men would be comfortable but my lady was not happy.

Great stop over location
Tan
For a quick overnight stay everything was fine. Bed was very comfortable.
Steve
I keep going back to this place as it’s value for money
Michael
Limited options in town but it was very dated, a bit noisy and lumpy bed

Good spot in a tough environment.
Cobra is a long way from everything, so it's very comforting to arrive at a clean organized motel after a long hot drive, with friendly people running the show. Rooms are clean and comfy, and it's quiet, with a small pool. There's a really good restaurant/bar attached, with top notch pizzas and a decent hotel-like menu, and cold drinks. All in all very civilized. It's not my first rodeo in Cobar, but this is the best place I've stayed in Cobar so far. I recommend.
Michael
Great stay
Madeleine
Didn't like bed it was to small no microwave no flannels with our towels
Darren

The pub on the corner rubbish outside near the drive in wasn’t really a good look
Arthur

Neil
Clean and comfortable.
Kevin
The location was great and the staff friendly.. there is/was work going on to modernise the rooms, but there was no sign of that work continuing
Julie
This was a good overnight stop. Was adequate for that purpose.Only gripe is that the fridge in the room needed
replacing. Good to have a fridge when your \"on the road,\"

NICE EASY STAY. WALKING DISTANCE TO WATERING HOLES
Verified traveler
Satisfactory for an over-night, budget stay
The reception staff were very friendly.
Our room was very basic & small… not at all like the photos in the promotional material. The decor was a carry over from the early 1980’s and showing its age.
Overall, it was commensurate with the price we paid.

Sound from adjoining room esp. Plumbing. Why group people in adjacent rooms when theres plenty of vacant rooms????
Mary
En route to Adelaide. Suitable & comfortable driving distance
Michael
Nice restaurant
Pauline
Easy to locate, arrangments for late check-in easy and the room was clean and comfortable.
Carl
There was only a trickle of water from the shower
Christine
Very squashed, no microwave. Too much light coming in through windows with thin curtains. Good bathroom.
Mrs morgan
Corner room near the kitchen was noisy with generator or air-conditioning something very noisy all night and smaller room than second visit
Sandra
There was an on site restaurant and bar which was very handy
Cassie
It was fine for an overnight stopover. Nothing flash. It shouldn't be more than $100 a night. It is very old and rooms very small.
Robert
Modern air conditioning however no WiFi, comfortable bed, clean, welcoming
Don
Pretty tired and worn room. Must be a sellers market in Cobar as poor value compared with other locations.
Jane
Bed was comfy. Food was great. Sinead on reception was great. Neat and tidy room.
Steven
Convenient for overnight stay on a road trip. Room was clean, but dated. The bed was like a marshmallow. Too soft for my liking, but that’s just me.
Graeme
This motel is a three star motel charging four and a half star prices. Having stayed here before I can report that this time at least the room had been updated from one and a half stars to three stars. One advantage is that there is an excellent restaurant attached .

My arrival was delayed but I spoke to reception who were quite friendly & accomodating. They organised for my key to be collected from a lock box which was convenient. My room was clean & tidy. I’d definitely stay here again.

Clean, quiet motel with dining opportunities in walking distance.
Alan
It was clean but very tired. Staff friendly and helpful.
Margaret
manager was rude; We have stayed previously some good stays, some bad stays, this last stay was atrocious. will never stay again
Nedra
Good location in walking distance to town centre. Very good restaurant and bar on site. Room dated but clean and comfortable bed. Also had microwave and Foxtel on TV. Car parks/gardens very basic and could do with some enhancements.
Darren
Nice place to stay. was just passing through so only 1 night but would come back again
Les
Clean
Joanne
This property was convenient for food. The hotel next door has lovely food. Walking distance to Tourist Information Centre/museum. The rooms were very clean and smelt freshly cleaned. Downside the window didn't close so it was quite cold during the night which we didn't find till the morning. Beds need doona's during the winter months. Temp was -1 degrees during the night. There were no extra blankets in the room.
Mary
Received a welcoming reception when we arrived late afternoon, very helpful. Room was warm, twin beds comfy. Clean. Bathroom is older style but clean, great hot water. Suited us fine for a nights stay.
