We very much enjoyed our stay at Hodges Bay Resort. We stayed for 6 nights in June 2026.
As this is Antigua's off season, the resort was very quiet, with very few guests. We stayed in an ocean front deluxe room. The room perfect. It was very clean and spacious. The balcony overlooking the ocean was large. We elected for daily housekeeping and our room was always refreshed and restocked when we returned to the room each day. The staff were all very friendly. Every staff member who walked by always greeted you. We travel in the summer for relaxation, so we stayed on property the entire time, except for 1 off site excursion. As such, we ate all of our meals on property. We are not really big into the food scene and simple meals are fine with us. The food in property was a bit expensive, but every meal we had was good. At the bar for lunch we ordered burgers, turkey club sandwiches, loaded nachos, and fries. All of the lunch food was excellent. We ate at White Sands for dinner all but 1 night and tried a variety of foods. The options are limited, but we were satisfied to eat there each night. One night we ordered pizza through a local delivery service. The pizza, included delivery and a sizeable tip was much cheaper than the hotel restaurant. The delivery service was \"All Mart\" and the pizza was from Sarkar's Pizza. My husband does not miss a workout even on vacation and he noted that the hotel gym was the best gym of any resort we have stayed at in the Caribbean.

5 star potential but not there just yet! The resort is beautiful and with some attention to detail could be even better. The room we were assigned was gorgeous but no cleaning service unless we called to request. There was a coffee shop on site but hours of operation TBD. Once we inquired they made sure that Davina was there each day with a smile making great coffee. Our initial butler never checked on us past the first day but once we were assigned Craig he was awesome and went above and beyond to make our time at the resort and in Antigua a wonderful one. We wanted to love Prickly the private island but unfortunately it was infested with ants to the point we were not comfortable enjoying lunch there. The main pool was closed during our stay but the infinity adult pool and bar area was lovely. I'd like to thank Jaheim at the front desk and Shane the bellman for their hospitality during our stay. We look forward to visiting Antigua again soon.

Great resort for our older family. Very quiet, but with everything you need. Pool areas were great, but having access to Prickly Pear island really made this place standout. We did some off resort adventures, but our best days were on Prickly Pear and hanging by the pool. We had a 4 bedroom unit and it was perfect. Would stay here again if coming to Antigua.

This is our second time staying at Hodges Bay, and once again, the level of customer service has exceeded our expectations. They graciously offered flexibility with both early check-in and a late checkout to accommodate our evening flight, which made a big difference.

Everyone on the team is warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. I highly recommend this hotel—if you’re looking for a boutique, exclusive experience, this is the place.

We fully intend to return again next year!

Just there for 1 day, but the time spent was amazing. The private island, Prickly Pear, wasnt in the description anywhere, but was one of the highlights of the 24 hour stay. Food and drinks were great. Ocean View room was ocean front and we could enjoy the sound of the waves at night. Highly recommend!

The oceanfront room had a large balcony with a beautiful view. The rooms were generally clean, however, some items needed to be repaired. Overall the staff was accommodating and friendly. Sometimes they needed to be reminded of requests made during the stay. The spa was wonderful.

I can't say enough about the service and staff. The entire butler staff was so accommodating especially when we dealt with Michael. All our excursions and transportation was handled by the butler staff. This was our second time at Hodges Bay Resort and it was even better than our first time. The food menu was more varied since the last time and we tried many of the items from each menu. Since we had a suite, we loved to order room dining and take our time and relax. My wife was thrilled with the spa which we didn't do last time. I loved that the staff restocked our fridge with water everyday. Great benefit and we gladly accepted not having to get our own bottled water. We went out to Prickly Pear island twice for snorkeling and swimming. It did rain briefly during the middle of the week and luckily it happened between our activities. We would definitely come back again.

The staff around the hotel was friendly and welcoming. My room was in a perfect location for a quiet and restful few days. The views around the resort were beautiful. Having the ability to go to Prickly Pear Beach from the shoreline was an added bonus. There were plenty of lounge chairs around the adult pool and beach. Overall, I came to Antigua to get away from the cold weather in New York and to relax, and The Hodges definitely helped me achieve both of those goals.

The restaurant service was terrible, and the food was not great. The \"beach\" was small. The spa was unavailable the two times we tried to use it. One person can request to shut down the entire spa. The unsolicited text, WhatsApp and phone correspondence was so frequent and annoying I consider it spam. I had to block it.

It was such a great experience at the Hodge Bay Resorts. The staff is just amazing, and the service is excellent. There are tons of spaces and a great location. The resort is on the ocean, and the view is breathtaking. You can take a boat ride to Prickly Pearl Island and enjoy many other activities. It is family-friendly, so everyone can enjoy it.

The property is beautiful and very well kept. It is extremely quiet and relaxing. The private island Prickly Pear was a little disappointing, not much to it. I didn’t really care for the white sands restaurant staff. I feel like they were not very attentive (the daytime staff). Also watch the menu switcharoo, they try and charge more on the bill than the listed price on the menu. The front desk people were very nice and the cleaning people were on point. The food is good but very very very expensive. This hotel is close to nothing in walking distance so if you plan to explore the island get a rental car. The stay overall was good, but the hidden fees and overcharging for every little thing was pretty ridiculous. For some good food close by is a hidden little gem Called Canvas. It is a $10 5 minute cab ride there and the food is delicious. This resort is beautiful, my reason for the 8 out of ten is solely because of some of the restaurant staff.

Just like the taxi drivers in Antigua, the people working here will try to con and cheat you out of your money. Several times I had to correct bills they handed me with an extra charge snuck in. The receptionist even lied & told me I needed to pay for the room again even though I had fully paid on hotels.com. Had to spend a long time going back and forth with her. Food is mediocre. Breakfast is terrible and overpriced. Dinner is ok but overpriced. Even the fries aren’t tasty. It’s not worth the price

I had an amazing time at Hodges Bay. From when I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Jaheim (I hope I got his name right). He offered me and my guest a beverage and a cool towel since it was very hot outside. We were then given a tour of the grounds by Javid and Jamar and then quickly taken to our rooms, allowing us to unwind and relax. Throughout our stay, both Javid and Jamar were very helpful even assisting us with excursions off the property. The property itself was very lovely. Clean and beautiful! I couldn’t have asked for a better ocean front resort. The beds were comfortable and once I figured out how to get the shower water to a hot temperature, I was at ease. We never had to ask them to clean our space or ask for extra towels. The room was always well equipped with what we needed. I cannot forget to mention that upon our arrival to the room, they had fresh fruits and brownies waiting for us. The beach was beautiful and we had no issues with seaweed. Access to Prickly Pear was a bonus and I cannot put into words how beautiful the scenery was. Jean-Marie was a dear! She set up travel arrangements for Barbuda. She made sure we had a taxi to and from. Anything that we needed, she made happen and it never seemed like we were asking for too much. Tanika, Anastasia, and Tango were also amazing at the bar! Drinks were strong and delicious and the food even better. The pools, the spa… Omg the spa! Everything was amazing! Please do not hesitate to book here. You won’t regret it.

My partner and I spent four days at Hodges Resort in an oceanfront suite, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The room was beautifully designed, and the resort itself is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the ocean.

The only drawback during our stay was the occasional lack of hot water. We reported the issue to the front desk, and while it was eventually resolved, it took several hours—unfortunately, this meant we couldn’t shower that evening.

That said, the hotel staff truly went above and beyond . Every team member we encountered was incredibly warm, personable, and welcoming, which made our stay all the more enjoyable.

I went with some friends to stay at this resort and it was a lovely experience overall. Pros: The scenery is beautiful. The private island is probably the best part. Cons: The service could be better, the staff are not as attentive as I would have liked for a resort this size and caliber.
IMPORANT: I did get Scombroid food poisoning from the fish tacos on the first day, which is caused by fish that is not stored properly. I tried to notify the hotel after my stay and they did not respond.

Never been to Antigua so inguessninshouldnhave done more research. When we arrived the staff was very nice champagne, took our bags parked our car showed us around. After that it was more like fend for yourself. We have a room with a butler ...met her for 30 seconds and that was it. Our refrigerator didnt work i told them nothing happened, three days never refilled our water until i called and it took 12 hours. They have staff everywhere and all theybdo is talk to eachother. Never ask if you want a drink at the beach or pool. Asked for coffee it literally took the 40 minutes in the restaurant. Rooms are ok overall. We have a beachfront with loungers that were never sunny and the staff never chnaged the covers they were dirty every day. Management really need to look to change the culture of the staff. It was literally like we were a nuisance being there.

A Wonderful Trip To Paradise

The resort is lovely and convenient to the airport. The staff (everyone) are very friendly and accommodating. We booked an Ocean Front Junior Suite and we could not have asked for anything more. The hotel has restaurants on sight and there are many close by. We also enjoyed spending the day at Prickly Pear Island. We were very happy with our stay!

Overall this resort is very nice. Beautifully designed and decorated and nice art work throughout. When we were there it was very quiet. Beach is small. Prickly Pear Island is a bonus and a beautiful spot to spend the day via a short complimentary boat ride. Food is OK not amazing. Most of the staff were very friendly and great service but at times the service was slow. This area is quite remote and not within walking distance to anything. St. Johns is 15 minute drive and English Harbour and area is 45 minutes. Great spot to relax and unwind but not much to do in the area.

Hudson Bay is a really nice place to stay at. Staff is friendly and the highlight is definitely the little island they also have, only 5 min boat ride - we preferred the lunch on the island instead of hotel!

Rooms need a bit of touch up and TV signal needs to be sorted.

Would be great to have all inclusive setup as well.

All in all a very nice stay and worth the money we paid, definitely recommend it!

We usually stay on the south shore but decided to stay on the north shore shore mainly due to price. Never again. The positives were it's closeness to the airport, the rooms were a good size, and the people in and out of the resort were very cordial, that's it. Oh and the pools were pretty.
Older redone property with a tiny manmade beach. One small beach bar that was too cold and windy at night to sit at. Two restaurants, one was closed most of the eight days we were there. Food quality was OK at best. There are some decent restaurants not too far off, but it's a $20-$40 cab fare. Large property with a lot of steps and ramps to get to anywhere in the resort. Rooms are very Spartan with very little furniture. Our air conditioner seemed to work only when it wanted to even after two visits by the engineer. The resort is not bad it's just very boring.

Beautiful, clean resort with friendly and welcoming staff. 2 BR, 2 BA Oceanview suite was perfect for our family of 5. The pools were nice with plenty of chairs, towels, etc. Boat ride from resort to Prickly Pear Island was a great bonus. The roads around the property could use some maintenance but that's true of the entire country in general. We had an awesome overall experience. Highly recommend this place for some R&R. Wish they had a few more vegetarian options for my wife though.

My room was full of mosquitos. I got bitten all over. Unacceptable. My shower barely had enough water coming out of it to shower. I was served bad mussels at dinner & breakfast was inedible. Breakfast also starts too late for people trying to catch morning flights to Barbuda. Art work was tasteless. A women in black lingerie with a rabbit’s head & smoking is not family friendly. Art work felt more like Mexican mafia party hotel artwork. Reviews are incorrect. Look like paid reviews. Overpriced for what is basically a Hilton.

Shoutout to Andy, Trevor and JohnJohn for their driving skills and kindness in taking us pkaces around the island.

Shoutout to the dining staff for all their work in making delicious, fresh food available every day for us.

Everything was incredibly delicious, generously portioned and made with love.

I adored the entire vibe of the resort with the hearts everywhere, the laid-back attitude and the beach is utterly incredible.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hodges. The room and hotel grounds were immaculate. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The spa treatment was great; the breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. There were multiple options daily. I would say their restaurants need a bit of work. It would be nice to have some Antiguan dishes on the menu. I would definitely stay at this property again however I’d eat lunch and dinner off property.

I must say me and my partner really enjoyed our stay ,the only issue we had was the parking.Other than that the faculty was amazing the food was spectacular. I really enjoyed my stay .

hotel looks very tired, peeling paint on the outside, broken tiles, staff requests went unanswered. Our room had peeling paint on the ceiling and an a/c that had a broken thermostat, room wasn’t properly serviced everyday. Not going back….

Property was quiet and staff was friendly. Breakfast was good daily and room was steps away from beach. The beach was clean. Ocean front room was spacious and convenient. Would recommend suites. Overall resort was beautiful but needs a few touch ups.

Beautiful property, amazing pools, water front dining, friendly staff ! The food at all restaurants was excellent. They have a water taxi for a short ride to a private island that has cabanas and en excellent bar and grill. The island is open monthly for a full moon party.
The bartenders, Delvin and Marvelous at Drift- the beach front bar were awesome. Some of the best drinks ever. I would recommend and would definitely return to this oasis!
