Hotel is in a great location, literally right around the corner from everything.
Room was small but what more do you need for somewhere to sleep. Towels renewed and bed made daily. My only issue would be it’s in need of decoration, just a quick lick of paint and a kettle with tea/coffee provided in the room instead of having to go all the way downstairs as those stairs are killer!
Guy at reception was really friendly and welcoming, got a greeting each time we entered and left the building. I would recommend a stay there.

Steep non-level stairs and no lift so good luck with the floor you get allocated. If stairs is an issue, move on! Tiny toilet, poor lighting and difficult temperature control (cold window vs radiator). Most fixings are loose, limited plugs. Clean and well located in a busy area but if you’re choosey, avoid.

The room is very small we requested 2 twin beds it was a dusty room and the bathroom has this very bad smell because the bathroom has no window nor a exhaust fan, we got a room facing the street it was very noisy all night long because of a bar right across from the hotel, and they don't have elevator we got a room on the 3rd floor we have to carry our bags to this very steep stairs.

The hotel itself is very good. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was clean and tidy. Room was a little small but it's got what you want if you are mainly going to out during the day and is cleaned every day. Only problem is the nightclub across the street. Not so much music but people standing outside talking till the early hours. It was the only downside. If you can deal with that it's the only downside

There were so many stains on floor, wall, sheets. Room stank when i entered. No adequate darkeninf curtains and this is a area full of nightlife. Towels tiny. No one at check in. Fan extremely dirty. Tissue box empty. Shower had mould.
The only nice thing was a tiny cup of tea for free when i asked for it.

The smell in the room was awful. I mean vomit making. There were old blood stains on both the sheet and mattress (which I could see through the sheet). I didn't take me shoes off as floor was filthy. I just can't get past the smell. Making me nauseous now thinking about it.

Unfortunately the stay was not pleasant. Thee room given was dirty, smelly and mouldy and we had a bed bugs. Hotel lack of cleanliness. Mattresses and pillows very very dirty under duvet and covered with stains. Staff was nice and friendly and changed the room from night 2 per our request but we still had bed bugs in second room and ended up bitten again. We are trying to deal now with Expedia re refund but regardless of provided evidence of pictures and videos, we struggle with Expedia to get refund back from the provider. I do not understand that as we provided pictures/videos. I have never been so disappointed. I feel robbed from my money and lied at this point on what Expedia offered and what we had received. Thank you.

The hotel was basic but nice.

Pros: Hotel is in a good location, was clean, housekeeping happened daily, friendly staff, beds were small but ok.

Cons: A lot of noise from street below, needed to keep window open as the room was quite warm (there is a fan in the room if needed)
Fees that were payable at the hotel wasn't clear on my booking with Hotels.com, was about 20 euros more expense than was told when booked.

The hotel doesn't gave a kettle in the room but there is a drinks machine that is free.

There is no left but the stairs were fine

This was at best a 2 star hotel.
It was very noisy at night due to bars everywhere and it was hot. There was a fan but it wouldn’t be enough in real heat. The room was minuscule with nowhere to put our suitcase except in the window ledge. The plugs were all behind beds and awkward to access. The room needed a refresh. There were no restaurants nearby for breakfast until after 10 am.
To be fair, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location was good near lots of museums and transportation.

The room was very small, it was on the top floor with no elevator. It was very cold in the room. No extra pillows or blankets. No closet, no space in the bathroom to hang. The shower has no curtain or door so there is no way to take a shower without flooding the entire room. They also ask you to close the door bathroom door close when taking a shower to avoid triggering the fire alarm.
On top of all that they asked for a much greater city taxes than Hotels.com listed when we booked and said that Hotels.com are simply wrong and there is nothing they can do about it.

Very Bad Experience

My husband and I were very disappointed in this hotel. We got to the hotel late due to train issues, got our room and the second we walked in to our room we both started streaming sweat it was so hot. There was no air conditioning and you could clearly hear the noise from the club across the street and it was 11:00 at night when you opened a window to try to cool the room. The room looked NOTHING like the photos, it was much smaller and the bed was not comfortable. After about 5minutes of discussing what to do we left the room and went downstairs and asked for a refund and spent the night at the train station until we could get into another hotel the next morning. Absolutely awful experience and would not recommend in any way.
Bottom line the room was not livable and there was zero chance of actually getting any sleep.

Mis-advertised an airport shuttle, did not respond to 3 seperate email enquires about a shuttle. 5 stories tall and no lift. Very low ceiling on top floor, which at 6'1\" led to a pretty hard hit on the head. Bathroom sink was clogged and leaked. No air-conditioning. Hilton prices and less than super 8 quality.

Good location though.. The bars next door and across the street are amazing.

Our stay in Amsterdam only lasted three nights but it was a memorable experience for bad reasons. During our stay, the temperature in Amsterdam was consistently 30° at a high, our room was at the 4th floor with no air conditioning and facing the afternoon sun. Our room became an oven in the night time that we had no choice but to stay in. If not for a hard-working fan in the corner of the room we couldn't have stayed there without risking heat stroke. On top of that, there was no elevator which is mentioned no where on their Expedia page.

We paid about $600nzd (~€300) for a twin room which was more cramped than a shoebox, and not at all what we expected from the photos on Expedia.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the location was very good. But if you're coming to Amsterdam in the summer or the early autumn stay away, it's dangerously hot.

Stay there after knowing the facts !

Hotel location is ok where it is close to shops and restaurants. However, the hotel is not having an elevator which very bad when you are given a room in the third floor, so imagine dragging your luggage all the way up. Also, in the details written in hotels it is mentioned that they are having safes available in the room, which is not true at all.

If your visit is in Summer, stay away as there is no air conditioning and windows are not designed in a good way to provide proper ventilation.

The hotel is centrally located and near to tram stops, though the convenience implies that sometimes you may have to bear the nosie outside. There is no lift in the hotel, so the climb may be a bit tough if your room is on the top floor. Free coffee at the reception in the morning is a bonus.

In the room, the furnishings are basic and a bit old-fashioned but usable. The black certains cannot be fully closed and light leaks in. The shower area in the bathroom is spacious and the water pressure is excellent, but it would be nicer if there is a door to prevent the water from splashing out.

I did encounter a couple of issues in my room, and the staff have eventually fixed them for me.

There is a coffee machine in the reception area which can be used between 7am and midday but as we were on the 4th floor with no lift, it's not very convenient. Would have been nice to be able to get a coffee in the evenings as well. Our room at the front of the hotel was a bit noisy in the evenings as there is a pub and a restaurant below but the noise didn't continue after midnight.

I was apprehensive of Acostar after reading precious reviews however I’m glad to say I was absolutely blown away by the hotel. Staff were lovely and accommodating, room and bed was clean and comfy. Extremely central and had no issue with walking to wherever we wanted to go - only using the tram to get to and from the airport. Our room was on the 5th floor and was beautiful and bright with skylights. Bath room and shower was also lovely. Overall, very happy with my experience!

Hotel is well located near Leidesplein, staff were extremely helpful. Rooms are basic, but perfect for a weekend stay. The Bed was very comfortable, rooms were serviced each day and the shower was great. It was a little noisy to the front of the building as there is a nightclub across the road, but not enough to keep you awake. Rooms are located on various floors so if you struggle with mobility request a 1st floor room. We were on the 3rd floor, which kept us fit during the stay.

Excellent location within walking distance of basically everything, but I got stuck in what they called a 'twin' room on my first night in spite of booking a double because, when you book a double on Expedia, apparently it's only put through as a 'request' and I had the phrase 'Subject to availability' thrown in my face several times. This 'twin' room was essentially the dead space at the top of the stairs that they had somehow managed to squeeze two single beds into, but even some of the space in the room itself wasn't usable because of an additional four steps shortly after getting through the door. The bathroom was so tiny that you couldn't even sit on the toilet properly because the pipe from the sink was in the way.
I made sure I was moved to a proper room the following morning, and it was a vast improvement. Not huge by any means but clean, with a good sized bathroom and a very comfortable bed.
Tea/Coffee machine in Reception that was free to use until noon was a welcome addition, and there was some handy bits and pieces you could pick up like maps and mini-cards with details of all the attractions you could visit.

The hotel was a place to stay after exploring the city all day.
It was clean, the staff were friendly.
We were initially given a room which was extremely tiny, no place to put your suitcase or unpack. The room faced the street which was opposite a night club, the noise was horrendous even for a Monday night. The occupants for the hotel were not quiet either, slamming doors and talking loudly all night.
We requested a room change which was done swiftly and moved down to the basement the following morning.

The basement room was larger, place to store your items and the shower was amazing.

The hotel is located close to the tram and lots of shops, great position for those wanting to explore.

For anyone wanting to stay at this hotel, just remember it’s not for a quiet stay, it really is just to put your head down so you can explore.

The deluxe room is on the 5th floor.
No privicy with noise from the toilet to the bed. Be warned hahaha.
The mattress was extremely soft. Not to our comfort. It sinks into the 2 people.
Bath tub is very nice to have. But it really needs to be cleaned withing the old cracks.
To plug the side lamp for the bed ypu have to connect a very short extension cable begibd the bed under the mattress. Not very clever.
The room smells like sewage i think you need to close the drainage plugs in the sinks.
Ithet than all these comments. The room was fine. There is lots of space in the room. Quite big. I would not not rush to choose this room again. But you never know. The hotel is approximately 23 minutes walk from central station.

The rooms are not as advertised in the pictures our room was tiny far to small for two people.
I swear the linen cupboard next door was bigger I told the staff at reception but they would not move us.
The rooms are not cleaned properly under the bed was disgusting.
Hooks and fixtures were broken so no where to hang clothes everything had to go on the floor. There was a a joke wardrobe that was 3inches thick so useless.
They should not be allowed to advertise pictures of nice rooms and then squeeze you in a tiny room it spoiled what was otherwise a nice trip

Location was good the room was dirty bathroom was just as bad there was one wall which was all glass with a door to an outside patio ‘this had no lock just 2 old window latches one top and one at the bottom that didn’t even close the door properly, with rubbish left out side. Very very small rooms which I didn’t expect at all- had to request a room change because my previous room couldn’t fit more than 1 person and the booking was for
2 people. Other than the size of the room, the hotel location is literally perfect!

The room looked much more modern and larger in photos. In reality it was very small and the beds were 2 single beds pushed together and not very comfortable at all. Hotel staff were pleasant however and it was a very good location.

Over all, it did the job.

The rooms were too cramped and the wall paper was peeling off of the wall but an amazing location and a cheep hotel compared to others in that area

Pleasant stay. Clean and comfortable. Club across the road could be a bit noisy but we were mostly out late so this wasn't too much of an issue.

Good value for money

My room was on the first floor. There was street noise and banging of doors into the early hours.
I suggest lowering the TV as being near the ceiling combined with a low bed made watching it extremely uncomfortable.

Lovely hotel in the centre of everything!! Only downfall being that we were on 5th floor and had to walk up 8 flights of stairs everytime we wnted to go to our room!
