The view from the room was great. The beds were comfortable and the sofa was comfy too. The bathroom was spacious and the amenities were nice. The downside was they ran out of bathrobes and they gave us a room where the mini fridge was not working. When we pointed this out, they were quite blaze about it which was disappointing. Parking near the hotel was a challenge and we needed to find a spot further up the road. The breakfast was good.

Very nice hotel located on one of the smaller Kristiansund islands. Large comfortable room with bathroom, coffee maker, fridge and settee. Excellent breakfast.
Although the hotel is not in the centre of Kristiansund, the Sundbaten harbour ferry stop is about 150m away (note this only runs until about 5pm).
Only negative comment about the hotel is that on our second evening, the restaurant was closed for a private event. This had not been pointed out to us when we checked in. Luckily there was a restaurant nearby (Dodeladen Cafe) which was very good.

The hotel was fine, lovely location and views across the water. The one thing that did stick out is that they charged you for everything in the way of amenities. You could borrow an umbrella, but you had to pay for it. You could get a charger for you phone, but you had to pay. A map of the city, you had to pay. It all seems just really nit picky and not very customer friendly.

The beds sag. Location is really not good if you want to see the town, though free parking is a plus. Very good breakfast. But I really was not happy to find that, contrary to the list of amenities on Expedia, there are no laundry facilities. Staff will send your laundry out for you, but that obviously is not a real option for road trippers.

No options for meals as restaurant was closed for no apparent reason. Breakfast needs to be fresh (eg. cheese slices were curling and dry; tomato slices translucent as they were being served over some days instead of freshly cut). Coffee machine in room was broken. All items which are standard to most hotels and extremely annoying that so much was not to standard.

Great location and very friendly staff.

The hotel had a parking space when we arrived with electric charging. The front desk staff was very kind and nice and got is right into a room since the THON in Oslo had an Unusuable shower. The only drawback was the room was very tight and ceeilings extremely low, so my husband felt a bits claustrophobic. The building is old, but they have kept it up very well for its age. The views were awesome and I liked being on the ground floor.

The property was amazing clean and very nice staff- all spoke English to some degree which made for very easy communications. The parking was ok- they are in the middle of making what will be a beautiful front patio so the temporary construction was taking some of the parking - but they had arranged and had some a bit further back. The area - has very little right around there - but the water taxi is just a stones throw and that takes you to the shopping and restaurants - so it’s a very nice place for peace and quiet and you can quickly jump over to the night life if wanted!!

Property is a bus, ferry or taxi ride away from the main town, so location may put some people off if they don`t have a car. We had not stayed in a Thon hotel before but it was a revelation. At first glance it looks like a UK Premiere Inn, but looks are deceiving. The main building itself is a converted warehouse on the seafront, which gives it character, and the sun deck overlooking the sea is great. Of particular note is the restaurant, the food was excellent - deservedly rated in local guides as one of the best restaurants in town. The Halibut was sublime.

Lovely hotel on the water.

What a beautiful spot for a lovely hotel, the service was wonderful we changed our room to a water view and slept with the windows open. Comfy beds, tea making in the room, spotless throughout. We had a delicious hot and cold breakfast. The hotel is over the bridge a 10 min walk or there’s a free taxi ferry that does 3 stops just 50m away, this makes it quieter and parking is free at the hotel.

The place to stay!

Thon hotel was such a fantastic discovery. Immediately after this stay we booked the one in Alesund and can tell you that the whole chain is definitely the place to stay in Norway. Comfortable and, for what you get, also moderately priced.
The place is beautifully designed with a boutique hotel vibe and if you get an ocean facing room you’ll feel like you’re floating on a ship. The whole hotel is inspired by generosity and kindness and you’ll feel the love the moment you get in. The staff was incredible, the breakfast is to die for, check out time is comfortable and even their special secret candy is the best I ever tasted. Highly recommended.

This Thon hotel is a gem, with its beautiful dining room looking out over the water, the well-equipped rooms, and the best-quality breakfasts we have had in Scandinavia. The staff was particularly friendly, and the hotel's proximity to the little ferries that carry passengers to the city center makes the stay very convenient. The terrific espresso machine in the lobby, where travelers can partake of a cozy afternoon coffee was also a welcome respite. Great hotel and great chain!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our room was fairly small, but the incredible view over the water towards the other islands of Kristiansund really made up for that.
I would recommend coming here if you have your own transportation as there are plenty of parking spaces on the property but it isn't easy to get to the town centre on foot.
The Sundbaten ferries are very convenient to cross the harbour to downtown, however you should check their schedules before you plan a trip. Also, note that they don't operate on Sundays and bank holidays.

Dissapointing stay. Check-in was OK. Room was spacious enough but not as big as advertised.
Bathroom was a disaster (tiny, water everywhere when showering, cold floor, cool water in shower etc).
Breakfast was also very dissapointing. When we arrived most of the items were empty. No bread. No bacon. No eggs. After asking several times for bread some arrived. This was still frozen in the middle.

Won't be staying at any Thon Hotel again for a long time.

Lovely stay in old Brygge

It is a lovely hotel in Kristiansund, an old fishing building turned into hotel with magnificent view. We originally got a room on the 1st floor but it was no problem to be moved to 4th floor, the staff was very helpful and definitely a better room and view. The breakfast was a bit disappointing but that is due to corona limitations and limited choice. Were a bit disappointed that the hotel restaurant is closed on weekends. It is located out of the city center but on Saturday we got a free ride with ferry-train (Sunbaten - Kristiansund is proud of as it operates longer then the trams in San Francisco).

Quiet cozy room on the water

Fun place to stay. Our room was right on the water, you could hear the water as boats passed. You are in a neighborhood so not a lot to do within walking distance. The neighborhood restaurant was very good. We walked half way over the bridge to take photos. Parking was good. Breakfast was excellent. Dining room overlooks the water, so a beautiful place to sit and enjoy. Staff was very nice and helpful. You can see that you are in an old warehouse by the beams but all the modern comforts of home.

Hotel across the bay

We found this hotel really hard to find. Kristiansund is on several islands, and if we had known the name of the one we wanted, that would have been fine. Once we got there, we found it to be in a calm part of the town. The old town is there, being the only part of the city not destroyed in WW2. An easy stroll from the hotel lets you see all the old buildings. The hotel is a converted historic warehouse, with a modern section attached. We were in the old part with low ceilings and exposed beams. It was very hot, and there is no air con, but it cooled a bit with open windows. Staff were excellent, and very efficient when there was a fire alarm. They also told us when bus tours had booked breakfast and dinner, so we could avoid those times. Beds were much too soft, I slept on the floor one night as my back was sore.

Very Good, with some caveats

First, the not so good- The carpet was horribly worn in the hallways and the walls were scuffed, the breakfast was cold, dried out, and poorly cooked (burnt). The good- the room was spacious and the view of the water amazing. The deck was lovely. There was a huge selection of food and beverages at breakfast, though some of it not good quality. All in all, we would likely stay here again.

We loved our stay in a completely updated room in the old section of the hotel. The room itself was rather small but had all the comforts, including coffee and tea making facilities and a mini fridge. The aspect that made it for us was its location hanging over the water, so it felt almost more like being on a boat than in a hotel. It was miserable weather when we were there so we holed up in our room for many hours watching the marine traffic and the gulls from generous floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom was small but excellent. A good Norwegian serve-yourself breakfast was available in the attractive dinning room overlooking the harbour. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. We wish we had been able to take advantage of the harbour's-edge patio.

The management need a shake up

The breakfast experience at this hotel spolt our visit to the lovely city. On the first day the breakfast room was filthy and most of the dispensers not working. On both days the hot dishes were stone cold. The restaurant staff were not interested.

At their prices they should be.

Rommet stod til forventningene. Rommene får særpreg da hotellet er en tidligere brygge. Litt spesielt at om man åpner vinduet/ verandadøra på rommet er det kun et glassgelender i hoftehøyde som skiller rommet og havet. Om man har fryktelig lyst kan man nok i teorien klatre over dette og hoppe rett i havet.

Veldig hyggelig og imøtekommende betjening som hjalp oss med å endre/oppgradere vårt rom.

Flott restaurant/frokostsal. God middag, hyggelige servitører og godt utvalg ved frokosten.

Området rundt hotellet er flott og det er flott utsikt fra rommet ut over havnebassenget.

Kjempefint hotell som ligger stille og rolig til. Nydelig frokost. Desverre alt for lytt mellom rommene og gangen, her hører du det meste som skjer. Heldigvis rolig på hotellet når vi var der, så det utgjorde ikke ett veldig stort problem. Senga derimot utgjorde ett problem, den var alt for fast og føltes i tillegg veldig kort, ga dårlig søvnkvalitet. Ansatte på jobb når vi var der var hyggelige og serviceorienterte.

Morgenmaden var bemærkelsesværdig dårlig osten var tør og kanterne bøjede opad. den stod en skål overmodne bananer som næsten var sorte og udvalget var generelt kedeligt. TV på rummet var local kanaler og chomecast som ikke virkede ordentligt og det var som om at naborummet styrede chromecast. menuen i restauranten var den samme som de have sidst var var der for 8 år siden
