Power was lost frequently, including the elevator. Food was fun at the poolside, the overall hotel is old and aged, dark and unsustained. The rooms are old. The bed was new and very nice and firm.
After taking a beer at the bar, I had to walk to receiption to pay. Quite a pain. The WiFi keeps resetting to different servers with all different passwords. Finally, checking in took a long time, and I wasn’t waiting for anyone in front of me.

Poor condition

This hotel needs a complete make-over, it's in very poor condition by any standard, no where close to a 4 or 5 star hotel. I would never stay here again, unless it's completely updated and upgraded. I wish I had paid more attention and read reviews before booking, I would never have stayed here.

The hotel staff was so friendly! They definitely made the stay for us! I do think that remodeling could be advantageous (Shower, bathroom are outdated.

The property is quite beautiful although the bathroom was very dated and werent very clean. What contributed to my rating for this property was the terrible service we received upon check-in. The front desk receptionist was extremely rude and when I informed the manager he didnt even acknkwledge me. I would never stay at this property again.

The building is bold and you can see it. Light fixture were covered in dust and the bathroom was disappointing. Old and the ceiling was leaking. Plus the lighting was so dim. But overall the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the restaurant food was rather tasty.

Absolutely nothing worked, the room looked old and dusty, the air conditioning sounded very bad, staffs were in and out of my room trying to fix one thing or the other. The wifi was terrible, the food menu prices were different from the actual price after an order is been placed. The only helpful stuff was Ada the guess relation personal. Lovely lady.

It is better to book at the hotel at the premises where you can negotiate, especially on weekends. Expedia charge higher for weekend rate & there’s no breakfast as stated on the booking & that’s disappointing.

The hotel is great. Food was outstanding being an Expat worker we struggle to have good food, but this hotel was amazing. The rooms are dated but all in all it was a great stay.
Will be booking for more company employees to be staying here also.

Worst Experience for a Senior suites hotel

I regret booking there the room. The management is so poor everything about the room are so old that the to get into my room was difficult. Each time I go out of my room and returned I need to go back to the reception to enable me get into my room. The room is not clean the shower is not working everything there are old.

First, I was told there was no room for me even though they confirmed in my presence that my reservation was in place. They kept my family with all the language in public for 2hrs in an area that foreigners are at risk for kidnap.
I was forced to pay extra to keep my transport on standby. Eventually they gave me a room that was not meant for me and was not exactly what I paid for. The place was dirty. A call for change of bed sheets was never answered until checkout.
I am not just disappointed but frustrated with all I had to pass through following this lodging at presidential hotel port harcourt.

Secure but outdated

Hotel security was good for Port Harcourt. The hotel has been around since it was built in the 70s and it really hasn’t had much of an upgrade since then so it’s outdated. No hairdryer or iron provided but they do put kettle in the rooms:
The Chinese restaurant offers large portions of well cooked food, the platinum club is very good if you wish to party late night in a safe and secure place, however the club does not sell spirits by the glass, only spirits largr bottles at around 32k each

Old but well maintained hotel

Presidential Hotel is one of the old luxury hotels built in the 70s and earlier in the same class with Premier Hotel Ibadan, Metropolitan Calabar etc. Hotel is well maintained, renovation was going on during my stay and you could here the banging noise of workers during the day time. The hotel has one of the safest clubs in Port-Harcourt \"Platinum Club\".

Easy access and very convenient location to most of the major night spots in town.

Good, safe and clean environment. Staff always friendly and eager to assist when needed. Pool and gym clean and in good condition. A little bit rundown, but holding and competitive. A good place to stay compared to competing hotels.

Family friendly environment

Lovely hotel in the heart of Port Harcourt. The food on the premises was delicious and the service was exceptional. It's the oldest hotel and therefore I think some renovations are needed in a few areas. The surrounding area restaurants and movie theater was just as delightful. Family friendly environment with a very large pool, gym, tennis court, table tennis, VIP club etc. Security is one of the best that I have seen in the area hotels. Front desk staff, etc were very courtesy.

Service is good but very expensive compared to the local economy, and staff very friendly. The rooms are cleaned daily, but it will make the work easier for the workers, if cleaners are given modern equipment to do their work.

Secure Hotel near GRA Port Harcourt

The Hotel ,whilst very safe and secure is tired and in need of a face lift all around.
There are excellent Chinese and Lebanese restaurants but the service can be hit and miss.
Price of drinks sky high and a double room without breakfast is 50,000 NGN

I did not like this hotel, it is dated and over valued, the rooms are basically furnished and the place feels like it needs a total refurbishment. It does have good facilities, large pool and tennis courts. I would not stay here again.

Mixed feelings

Het hotel is erg oud. Het matras was erg slecht. Zelfs het beddengoed was oud. Het internet was behoorlijk traag. Het grote voordeel is dat er qua eten veel opties zijn, de restaurants zijn erg goed. Buiten is er veel ruimte om te relaxen, met een groot zwembad. De tennisbanen zijn gerenoveerd en liggen er goed bij.
De communicatie met room service verliep erg slecht. Ik kreeg mijn eten een keer 45 min. later en ook een keer iets anders dan ik had besteld.
Ik ben er nu drie keer geweest, maar ik twijfel of ik nogmaals zal gaan. Als ik een goed alternatief vind, zal ik die zeker uitproberen.

Behov for totalrenovering

For oss var det viktigste at hotellet var trygt, med god plass til å treffe familiemedlemmer på hotelleområdet, både ute og inne. Det fungerte godt, med mange bevæpnede vakter, også en i korridoren utenfor hotellrommet vårt hver nattt. Det kan være farlig å bevege seg til fots utenfor hotellet, men det var enkelt å få taxi til rimelige priser. Utendørs svømmebasseng var stort, godt renholdt, og med badevakt. Prisene på mat og drikke var høye, uten tilsvarende kvalitet. Hyggelig personale. Hotellet var ganske slitt, og kunne trenge en oppgradering. Sengene var alftor harde!

50 years old hotel. When I arrived it was fully booked though Hotels.com gave me confirmation of reservation? Hotel GM arranged me a room, big thanks for him. Friendly staff, good service.
