A bit mixed feelings, on one hand, amazing food, room big and specious, on the other hand the room was so very cold, even with extra blanket. And lastly the room had crappy view on scafolding and some construction materials. It would be nice if someone mentioned it and apologised when checking in, I understand hotels may have some work going on but just saying.

Good location on outskirts of town with plenty of free parking. Larger than average hotel bedrooms and bathrooms, super comfy beds and everything clean with nice quality linen and towels. Had a very pleasant meal in the restaurant but decided breakfast at an additional €16.50 per person was just too expensive.

Nice, but not worth the money
Hotel is one of the nicer ones in Sneek. We were coming from an RCI exchange and simply staying 2 nights at this resort. We were rooms 406 and 414. Hotel parking was adequate, staff was multilingual and competent. For the price, there should be a pool & hot tub at the property. I do not feel that the experience at this resort was worth $160/per room per night.
I was in room 406. The beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious. There was mold in the grout of the stand up shower and the water temperature coming out of the rain shower was less than the hand held shower head.
The location to the downtown Sneek was great and the breakfast was very good but at 15 Euro per person we did not feel the cost was appropriate.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are terrific! Hotel is reasonably new. Location is ok but not great for walking. Cable is limited and breakfast is way too expensive for what you get. Most other top end hotels include this type of breakfast in their room price.

Allround one of the best hotels I ever stayed. I can not find any shortcomings. The staff is excellent and very accommodating, the rooms are modern and convenient, and the restaurant is superb, from the exceptional self serve breakfast to the elegant dining options.
This hotel is equally suitable as a quiet retreat, with nature walking trails right off the property, as well as for the demanding business person. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel welcoming staff.Food in bar/restaurant was plentiful and excellent quality.Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice and good coffee.Stayed in junior suite and had no complaints .Lovely view from the balcony and although the road is quite close we heard no noise at all.This was one of the best Van der Valk hotels we have stayed in and we have never been disappointed.

Huge room, great comfort and well appointed. Bar area was exceptional ! Freddy is a great service oriented and very nice young gentleman. Restaurant for breakfast was also very nice. Front desk had credit card processing problems and claimed my card could not be used in the Netherlands but it worked fine in Amsterdam. Lovely shopping area 5 minutes away. I will return for summer months for lake enjoyment.

Hotel erg mooi met grote kamers. Goed bed en prima faciliteiten op de kamer. Minpunt was de douche. Handdouche hangt op buikhoogte en uit de regendouche komen slechts een paar straaltjes. Niet echt handig als je bijv je haren wil wassen. Verder zorgde de airco op onze kamer ervoor dat de lucht echt extreem droog werd. Nu doet een airco dat altijd wel een beetje maar dit was wel te veel. Gemeld bij de receptie. Ze boden excuses aan en zouden ernaar gaan kijken.

Ondanks de corona niet echt van der Valk kwaliteit, tenminste het eten. dat was beneden de maat, en het ontbijt werd te weinig aandacht aan besteed. Zwarte spek, een laatste gebakken ei, en weinig aandacht voor de gast. Dat was op andere lokaties beter, ook al moest het op de kamer gegeten worden. Daar stond wel een tafel, maar de stoelen waren smerig, niet gecontroleerd. Afstandbediening was defekt, en de zenders vielen uit. Regelmatige facilitaire inspectie is gevraagd. Je ziet dat door de Corona de aandacht verslapt...dat is menselijk
