Booked for 4 nights. AC was not working. Staff wasn’t helpful at all. Handed a small table fan!!

Wouldn’t suggest this property. Area has many other properties which would probably be better.

Expedia has become terrible at suggesting properties.

Note the late check-in at 4pm and rooms generally not ready earlier. Rather an earlier check in and and earlier check out.
Staff kept asking if I wanted to upgrade to a larger room which was available earlier. Cheeky business tactic.

Rooms dont have a fridge and any toiletries are lacking.
Room cleaning needed to be requested upon check in otherwise its another way to cut cost in the name of the environment and not having enough staff.

When we arrived we were given th option of a larger room overlooking the hotel entrance with a sofa & chair area which we took for only an extra £50 over 3 nights. The room was excellent and the bath/shower had constant hot water which was appreciated particularly when coming in from the cold late afternoon before going back out later. Buffet breakfast was one of the most comprehensive I have experienced when travelling, very good. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The location is great…very walkable to Old Town.

The one frustration was the lack of parking. We were directed to Stockholm Parkering…which turned out to be a nightmare. I spent several hours trying to sort out how to use it…there are no attendants on site…they charged me …then credited the charge without explanation…then put a ticket on my door….it went on and on!

I stayed in superior double room. It is quite small and the arrangement of the room was not I expected for a 22sqm room. Little window for natural light.
Gym is like a box room, only 2 treadmills 1 bench and pulldown machine it feels very tight, no windows either. sauna is inside the changing room.

Disappointed with hotel assistance as when you leave your luggage in the hotel they will just point you to a room where you store you luggage yourself, this feels somehow unsafe as guests have access to the luggage room with all people’s stuff inside.

The location is perfect for walking everywhere. The hotel itself is interesting because it seems to be made up of many other buildings joined together. Lots of nooks and crannies. The breakfast buffet is pretty amazing! The one negative thing is the shower glass wall doesn’t meet the floor so water runs out into the bathroom. A small flaw but irritating nonetheless. I would stay here again

Great urban hotel

We really enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights for a family of 5. The rooms had connected rooms as we requested and everything was smooth. Everyone at the reception and elsewhere were friendly and smiling.
Every morning my son and I rode on the hotel’a own bicycle ans that was a truly superb way to start the day.
Overall, everything was on walking distance and I definitely recommend this hotel for a Stockholm trip

When we arrived, we were initially given the keys to a room that wasn’t ready, and it was very dirty. Mistakes like this can happen, so we didn’t make a fuss. We were then given our actual room, which was fine — nothing amazing, but acceptable.

However, some nights were a nightmare for sleeping. Our room faced a bar/nightclub, and the music (mostly loud techno) went on until around 3 a.m. every night. I genuinely think the room should have at least triple glazing, because it’s ridiculous to be on holiday and not be able to sleep due to the noise.

Breakfast was not included, which we knew, but the bigger issue was that the room was never cleaned during our five-day stay. We were told we had to request a cleaning service, so we did — once — but it never happened. After day four, we gave up and just lived in our own mess for the rest of the trip.

Overall, it wasn’t the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but it could have been much better. The idea of “ecology” or “sustainability” as a reason not to clean rooms regularly feels like a cop-out — it’s not eco-friendly, it’s just poor service.

Great place to stay

Arriving in Stockholm on the Arlanda Express, this hotel is a 10 minute walk from the central station. We stayed for 4 nights in July and found it to be an excellent stay. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful whether they were printing off Power of Attorney documents for my wife to sign or opening the in-room safe that my wife managed to disable with our passports inside it on the night before checkout. (Note that the safe is a bit small and not big enough for a laptop). Hotel staff all speak much better English than my Svenska.
Breakfast area has everything you will need but does get very (very) busy between about 8am and 9:30am. Coach load of American tourists during our stay all ate at the same time - they have a bus to catch!
We ate out in the evenings as the hotel restaurant choices are a bit limited, but there are a enough alternatives in the immediate vicinity to make up for it.
It's a little outside the main tourist area which means it's quiet in the evenings but not much public transport nearby so be prepared for a bit of walking when you have things to do. Waking to the docks to catch a boat to the archipeligo takes about 25 minutes (including the wife stopping to take photos.)
We loved the Scandic Grand Central and would stay again even if only because of it's closeness to the train station. But it has more to offer than just that.

Location: Excellent. About 3-min walk to the Arlanda Express. Close to all types of transportation around the city for tourist attractions—subway, bus, lightrail. Walkable to shops.

Breakfast: Wide variety of food including fruits and even stations for dairy -free and gluten-free. Wasn’t my favorite hotel breakfast but sufficient.

Room: Even though the hallways were a bit dated, the rooms were renovated and well-reflected by the Expedia photos. The bathroom was quite small but renovated just aa the rest of the room.

Noise: My room was facing the street and could hear the traffic. Usually not too bad until a loud motorcycle passes by once in a while. I had my own earplugs and was able to sleep uninterrupted with them on.

We paid for a superior room, and were glad we did, as - although it was still small - it was big enough for a few nights, and had a comfy king size bed (and kettle, which bizarrely doesn't seem to be included with lower grade rooms), and on the top floor we has a very narrow roof balcony, that was good to get some air. The bathroom was absolutely tiny, and couldn't even fit in a normal size sink, and no-one had bothered to fill the shower gel container, but this was filled when we requested it. They try and avoid offering room service, and even though we asked for our room to be cleaned (it felt like a negotiation at reception, but they pushed to only clean on the middle day of our stay, but, despite this, our small bin was never emptied, nor tea or coffee replenished). Also, although there were blackout curtains, they let lots of light in around the edges and along the top as there was no pelmet, and, with it getting light from 3am, this was a very early wake-up call.

Staff were polite and the whole hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was fine - and if you went through to the restaurant area there was much more space and a proper coffee machine, rather than being in the darker main area.

Everything was functional but just lacked any sparkle, but the location was spot-on being 5 mins from the train station and all the main central locations being walkable.

The hotel was ok - the rooms were clean but very very small and I personally found it too claustrophobic for 5 days. You only got your room cleaned and fresh towels if you asked for it. Breakfast was lots of lovely food - a bit of a bun fight I’d say ! Not my cup no of tea but ok if that’s what you want. Very expensive for what it was and I was glad to be leaving this morning.

The room seemed small for the size of furniture. Not much room to move around. WC was smaller as well. The shower leaked out on the washroom floor. The sink was also mini-sized.
The breakfast was excellent and the desk service was excellent. We stopped in at the bar and it was very comfortable but expensive.
Would stay here again, but ask for a larger room.

The hotel was excellent as usual; however, this time Alex at the front desk went above and beyond. I realized that I had left my AirPods in the room while on the high-speed train to the airport. After emailing the front desk from the train, Alex went to the room (twice), found the AirPods and returned them to my colleague. I regularly stay at the Scandic Grand Central and have become used to the excellent service. Thanks again to Alex!

Be careful about signing up for the basic room. It is beyond basic with no finishes, no refrigerator, metal furniture, not what I’d expect from Scandic. Fortunately I was able to pay to upgrade to a nicer room also without a refrigerator but the hotel very nicely sent one up to me. The hotel was supposed to have bicycles but they were out of order and they nicely made arrangements for me to walk to another Scandic (the Marriott of Scandinavia) and use a bike. I will say, whenever there was any issue at this hotel, the staff was exceedingly helpful to overcome inconveniences.

Hotel is fine, Great location. Only a 5 minute walk to Arlanda Express so easy to get to and from the airport. The one issue I had was you had to book housekeeping 24 hours in advance and although I have no issue with that someone could have mentioned it at check in. You have a shower that drenches the floor around the toilet and wash basin and only have a towel to dry it which won’t get replaced because you are not aware that housekeeping won’t come into your room. Breakfast is ok and the bar area is nice

Just 5 minutes walk from Arlanda express, this hotel is very convenient if you come straight from the Airport. Lobby is descent and a lot of times busy. Rooms are dark. No fridge. No welcome bottle of water in the room. If you just go to your room to sleep, then ignore me. They need to work-on their lighting.

Highly recommended based on just 2 points alone: location and lobby. Location is central, minutes away from rail, metro & bus terminal, pedestrian walking street, supermarket and bus stop for the bus to cruise terminal. Lobby is Starbucks style, great for resting after a long day of walking. Background music tend to be rather loud though. Housekeeping is on request but that is ok with us. We just changed towels with housekeeper when needed.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The decor is beautiful from lobby to restaurant to room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom well stocked with toiletries. Our room had a balcony with a little table and chairs which was a great bonus as we stayed during very warm weather. The Scandic breakfast buffet is always to die for. The area is great; close to good transport links but easily walkable to old town and a lot of central shopping streets. Lots of food & drink options around too. Would happily stay here again!
