There is a restaurant and they give you coupons at check in. No free breakfast. But the food was yummy and the service great. Also an amazing view. The rooms were not new but clean and comfy. There is literally anything a traveling family could need. Food, gas, a yard, play set, convenient store. All within the compound of the lodge. As a mom I found this extremely convenient and helpful. I will definitely be staying again if I'm ever in the area. You really can't beat the view at sunset!

The room was clean and the set temperature was just right. It’s an older establishment, but it is properly maintained. There is a general store on the premises. The lake is a short drive away, with trails for hiking. The staff are friendly, and answered my questions regarding check-out time. (11 am). Whether you’re passing through or looking to get away from the crowds, this was a sweet location to just chill and relax.

The best feature of this spot is a lake view while dining. The decorum is like a dingy Dennys. The Bartender was awesome. Counter clerk acted like she's over worked. The portable ac unit didnt work in my room, so they gave me another room. Nothing great to say about this run down place except there arent many places to choose from in that area. Good luck.

It was easy to check in, staff were helpful. It's an easy stop off place between journeying by road, seemed to be mostly older folk visiting for the casino.
The restaurant was reasonably priced, not much else in the area, and the waiter was super polite and could not be more helpful. The view over the lake at sunrise was beautiful and the lake is pretty and quiet.
The only downside was the most noisy aircon ever - i switched it off only to hear neighbouring aircon units just as much so i switched ours back on again!!

This is my favorite stop to stay at for years now in my frequent drives between Los Angeles and Reno. The restaurant is great, the view of the lake is wonderful, the staff is fantastic and the associated general store and gas station are an added plus. I will continue staying there as long as it is there to stay at!!

The property wasn't that crowded and they assigned our room the absolute farthest from casino and restaurant on the 3rd floor on the third farthest building that we did not know existed. We are senior's and feel nobody gives a darn anymore about old people.

restaurant on-site has late hours which is good for travelers; great view of Topaz Lake; staff was friendly & generally responsive; complimentary shampoo and conditioner were appreciated;
large TV with what appeared to be cable or direct TV (we didn't get a chance to use the TV but I'm sure others would appreciate it); convenience store on-site with very helpful staff; free wi-fi and parking; iron & board available upon request.

Cons: While staff at motel was friendly, some are in need of additional training (we asked the front desk for help locating our room as we could not find it, and were literally told that our guess was as good as theirs & good luck finding it). Some of the site materials are in need of clarification and/or updates (eg multiple buildings on site but signage not clear as to which building was which). Room was dated, dark, & strangely appointed; brown water from the tap every time we used it; stairs in need of repair; bathroom quite small with a narrow, short shower not suited for anyone over 6' (such as my husband); sink was oddly low (I'm 5'3 & it was low even for me); no counter or space for toiletries in bathroom; lacked outlets in the room in general & had none near the bathroom; no full length mirror & the only large-ish mirror was in a corner of the room that had no light source, so was kind of pointless; no microwave or refrigerator; bed was overly firm & springy.

Photos show swimming pool full of water. Pool was actually filled in with sand a few years ago. i had called a few days before check in to request a room with \"NO STAIRS\" and left a number to call back with confirmation. Never received a call. Questioned why we didn't receive a call back and gentleman as very rude. stating it was the morning staffs job to check messages. Our rooms were not cleaned and towels/ toiletries replaced as scheduled. We called the front desk and the same gentleman said he would take care of it. 3 hours later we had to make another call and a female answered apologizing i was not taken care of and we were then serviced with towels within 10 minutes. The gentleman working the counter is not a prime candidate for handling customer service and should be replaced.

Each room has a view. The rooms are old. But they are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The steakhouse is the bomb!!! One of the main reasons we go there. And of course, there is the casino. And best of all, they are dog friendly. I usually only stay in the high end hotels. But I love Topaz lodge just as much.

The Topaz Lodge is perched above Topaz Lake with views from all the rooms. The coffee shop which is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner has great views and so does the steak house but check the opening days for this one. The lake is so beautiful, and the rooms are a decent size. This is not a brand-new hotel, so it is showing its age, but the room had a table and chairs, and an armchair, coffee machine, microwave and fridge. What makes it a great hotel, apart from the location, are the staff. They always have a smile on their face and are so friendly and will go out of their way to help you. I want to give a shout out to Feather in housekeeping and to Donna and Monica at the bar. The hotel gives vouchers for a free drink, and $3 off breakfast per person, per day. The hotel has a casino which we enjoyed.

We didn't like that the ice machine was unavailable in our building and the one in the next was quite slow and didn't give you much. Other than that, all was good.

Stayed for one night while traveling with family. Topaz Lake and scenery is very nice. Walls were thin and we had inconsiderate neighbor blasting tv til midnight and then opening/slamming door constantly at 5 am so i didn't sleep well. The property itself is a cool place but walls are thin and can hear loud neighbors. Everything else was good. Nice cafe with good food and bar and casino. There's a swing set that the kids enjoyed. Would stay again. Just got unlucky with loud neighbors.

Horrible hotel with even worse customer service. We had a group of 13 that all had rooms. Two of our rooms, mine included in that, were not ready for 2 hours when trying to check in at 5pm. Staff was very untrained and had ZERO skills to solve problems. I was talked to in a rude manner by several employees for THEIR problem. Then to top it off I was given a discounted rate in which they charged me AGAIN, not a refund. The room was dirty, had trash in the cans, hair on the floor in the bathroom, and smelled. STAY FAR, FAR away from this place.

While they have “upgraded” some of the rooms, I had the unfortunate chance of being given a room in the part that had not been upgraded. Used soap, bugs, the water smelled horrible in the shower, and someone had used the toilet and not flushed which tells me that this room had not been cleaned. I will not be staying here again. If you are driving through and need a place, keep going to Carson City. The positive thing I can say, is that the staff was really nice.

We found maintenance to be needed in some area, bathroom sink. The bed mattress was very soft and unsupportive. We woke up sore every morning.The lady that provided room service as well as the first lady that help us at check in were very nice and helpful. The other lady who I talked to the next morning was not! Sarry, I did not take names. We have stayed here several time in the past, 4 plus years or so, and it appears that maintenance and upkeep is no longer a priority.
