We visited Balito with a family of 7 and had the most wonderful stay. The hotel is small but updated and it is run by a wonderful family who makes you feel at home. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast and coffee is perfect in the morning. The rooms were good for our large family (we had two rooms with 3 beds each) and the area is very walkable. It’s about a 14 min walk to the beach (with my slower children) and a 10 min taxi into Chania. There is also a bus to take you to town and some of the other beaches that stops nearby but we didn’t do it because of elders in our group. There is a taverna around the corner that was amazing. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and will be back again if we return to Crete.

How anyone could not like this is beyond me. Unless you are actually looking for loud music and foam parties, this is great, a reasonably priced relatively modern property in a great location with its own bar serving food and drink and its own swimming pool, with fabulous sea views on a bus route, yards from a traditional village with its own restaurants, bakery, coffee kiosk. Supermarkets are just short stroll away. George is a very accommodating host easy to get on with and very helpful and informative.

Great property. Apartments very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a beautiful sea view on 2nd floor. Kitchenette basic but adequate for cooking breakfast. Good shower in bathroom. Lovely pool. There is a pool bar. George the owner and his family and staff were very friendly and gave lots of information about Crete. It is about a 12 minute walk down the hill to the nearest beach Kalamaki. We didn't like this beach as it was by a busy road so we carried on walking another 20 mins to Apostoli beach which is fabulous with a great beach bar. Completely recommend this accommodation but bear in mind the distance to beaches, if you don't like to walk far you need to hire a car. Or there is a bus stop right outside the apartment you could use.

Good but can improve

Pros: Excellent location, close to Chania town and many markets close by. Nice size swimming pool, good size apartment with a small kitchenette. Price is reasonable for what you get.

Cons: Overall cleanliness can be improved, one of the matresses was very uncomfortable, I booked a Seaview Apartment, we did get a seaview but on a lower floor, our view was blocked by trees.

Overall happy with my experience but would wanna try somewhere else next time.

It had a gear price and was only 3 min drive from the beach with a lot of parking space, so if you rent a car that's a big plus.

George, the owner/manager was a superb host, quick to respond to all questions and requests... also great cook! He was always somewhere around the property and when I texted him (WhatsApp) he appeared within few minutes, always polite and in good spirit.

I had a nice, clean and comfortable room with the ocean view from my balcony with daily cleaning service.

Overall, great experience!

There were some out of control hiccups here and there (AC remote control ran out of battery, insect got in the room) at the start of our stay but they were very responsive to fix them. Full breakfast is highly recommended.

We stayed in a standard apartment initially, 2 adults 3 kids. It was a tight squeeze so we asked if they had a larger room and were willing to pay, but they upgraded us for free! Lovely pool which the kids enjoyed everyday, breakfast is served from the bar at the pool and very reasonably priced. Free parking at the unused basketball court adjacent to the property. Kitchen had everything we needed to make an evening meal, though the sockets were on the other side of the room for the electric oven - so we had to move the table! Apartments inside have been refurbed recently, and the bathrooms are nicely tiled as per the pics. Daily housekeeping nice and clean and very friendly too. Beach is a few minute drive down and the bus-stop to Chania centre is right outside the apartments (though we just drove). Oh and the young Albanian lady at the pool-bar was amazing - very helpful and friendly throughout! (The place doesn’t have a proper reception so you just go there if you need anything). Overall we were happy and would stay again.

Easy and quick check in and check out. The room was as described. Very nice, spacious and clean. Shower was a good size; a change from other locations we stayed in Greece. And the bed was comfortable too. Beautiful set up in the back area with pool and bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

Lovely relaxing holiday

My partner and I spent 2 lovely weeks at the hotel Balito. The family who own and run the hotel couldn’t do enough to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The staff were knowledgable, caring, efficient and took pride in everything they did. The breakfast was plentiful, freshly cooked and tasty. The room was comfortable and quite spacious. The cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms, pool and outside areas was exceptional. Finally, We’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone at Hotel Balito. THANK YOU.

Lovely place

Loved staying here. Location of the hotel is brilliant and our room was bright, clean and spacious. Beaches are a 15 min walk down the hill - very blue water!
It was a shame the bar wasn't open at all, but understand if that were to do with the end of the season.
All in all, we loved every second and didn't want to leave!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Balito however would not suit all tastes, especially if prefer tourist areas. We went beginning of October (end of season) & the appts are situated in a more residential area. Approx 15 mins walk to beach/tavernas. 2 local minmarkets less than 5 mins walk away. Family owned/run establishment who were very friendly & lived in the local vicinity.

Me and my uncle stayed 2 weeks at Balito Apartments and it was wonderful! The staff were really friendly and helpful. We got amazing recommendatiations from the staff to go to the beach and find good restaurants.
We arrived at night and everything were arranged so that it was easy to come at night time too when everyone was sleeping.
Rooms were good and cleaned, nothing special, but it had everything we needed.
The pool was amazing and clean.
Very peaceful place and on good location, not so far away. You can easily go down to the beach.
I really recommend this place. Everything was good and the staff was just so amazing, it felt like home. Definitely going again!

Posizione molto comoda. Siamo stati davvero bene nonostante non si tratti di un hotel sfarzoso. La piscina è molto carina e pulita, il personale è gentile e disponibile. Oltre ai posti auto di fronte all’entrata si trova facilmente parcheggio sulla via.

Con la mia famiglia (2 3) abbiamo passato un ottimo soggiorno di 14gg in questo appartamento al secondo piano. Sebbene il cucinotto non sia fornitissimo per cui risultava difficile cucinare per tutta la famiglia, abbiamo apprezzato molto l'ampio terrazzo che usavamo per colazioni e cene take away. Il personale e' super cordiale e sempre pronto a darti suggerimenti e aiuto. La bella piscina e' davvero un plus che permette di rilassarsi dopo giornate "faticose" al mare. Simpatici gatti (che amiamo molto) sono frequentatori dell'hotel. La macchina e' necessaria per muoversi ed il parcheggio non e' un problema. Nelle vicinanze immediate Elia una taverna tipica consigliataci da George dove si mangia bene senza spendere una fortuna.

Strongly recommend hotel Balito! The owners are really nice and welcoming. We asked a lot about recommendations on what to do in Chania and some help with taxi and our car that we rented, and they were really helpful! The hotel is not so far from the beach, and parking with car is good outside the hotel. I really loved the vibe of the hotel! It’s very welcoming, but also very calm and informal. If I ever come back to Chania I will 100% stay here again!

Best last-minute Getaway vacation❤️

In addition to the comfortable rooms and friendly staff, we also enjoyed the great amenities at Hotel Balitol, including a nice kids' pool and an adult pool. The hotel's location was perfect, with the beach just a short walk away and a bus station right next to the hotel. It was convenient to have Chania city center only about 5km away, making it easy for us to explore and enjoy the local attractions. We also want to mention the lovely owner of Hotel Balitol, who made our stay even more special. Their warm hospitality and personal touch added to the overall charm of the hotel. It was clear that they genuinely cared about their guests and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We truly appreciated their kindness and attention to detail. We had a perfect relaxing holiday here in Balito hotel and Galatas area! Location is nice and quiet, but there is couple of good restaurants and minimarkets nearby and the beach is about 10 minutes walk away. Hotel has good rooms and pool area and the owner is extremely helpfull and nice! We will definitely return!

Veldig hyggelig leilighetsanlegg med serviceinnstilte medarbeidere som gjorde alt for at vi skulle ha det bra. De var hjelpsomme til å finne svar på våre spørsmål og behjelpelig med alt fra å bestille taxi til manikyr. En kveld i uken ble det arrangert felles grillkveld for alle gjestene med nydelig mat. Vi hadde stort sett bassenget for oss selv på dagtid da de fleste dro på stranden. Anbefales!

Very friendly staff at the restaurant, they helped me with everything that I asked and was extremely kind. The food was also good and breakfast cheap. The rooms were ok but nothing special, clean and perfect for a solo traveller like me who isnt spending a lot of time in the room. The hotel was located up on a hill in Kalamaki therefore I would maybe not recommend it if you dont like to walk or dont have a car. You walk down to the beach, restaurants and bus in 10-20 minutes. To Platanias and Hania it took around 10-15 minutes with taxi that costs 10-15€, but i recommend the local busses that costs 1-3€.

Nous avons adoré la salle de bain ( assez moderne ). Nous avons trouvé qu'il manquait de l'espace surtout pour loger 5 personnes ( 4 adultes et un enfant ). Déçu par la vue et la terrasse. Établissement bien entretenu et propre ( nettoyage tous les jours ). Piscine agréable. Menu du petit déjeuner un peu décevant. Nous n'avons pas pu goûter aux plats proposés le soir car fermé déjà à 20h (??)hôtes agréables .

Fint og dejligt sted til prisen

Meget fint appartmenthotel til prisen. Ok lejlighed og senge, der manglede dog en del køkkenudstyr, men værterne var søde til at hjælpe. Balkonerne var små og aflange hvilket gjorde det svært at sidde sammen og spise fx morgenmad. Skøn og meget ren pool. Bil anbefales .... det ligger lidt afsides og alligevel meget tæt på både Chania by og agia Marina/platanias.

Appartamenti pulitissimi e con una bella piscina,adatta anche ai bimbi piccoli.
Indispensabile avere una macchina perchè si trovano fuori dalla città di Chania e lontani dalle spiaggge. Soluizone quindi ideale da sfruttare per la scoperta della parte occidentale di Creta avendo la macchina a disposizione. La struttura mette a disposizione un grandissimo parcheggio gratuito (non custodito).

Appart hotel tres propre, lit refait tous les jours. Kitchenette avec l'essentiel mais succinct (1 poêle, 1 casserole, 1 feux électrique, 1 micro onde). Clim dans piece principale et un ventilo pour la chambre. Par contre la wifi fonctionne tres mal dans la chambre, il faut ztre a la pisxine pour capter. Piscine ideal pour petit et grand. Situé à 1km de la plage en haut d'une côte (2min en voiture) et à 15min en voiture de la Canée centre. A 2min à pied, un resto typique, très bon.

One week family trip

The positives were that all the staff are super friendly and helpful. The property is very clean and the pool area is fabulous. It's a small enough hotel that the pool area is never crowded. The bar by the pool serves food and drinks. The negative being that the double bed (and pillows) were really hard and uncomfortable, resulting in bad sleep and waking up with sore backs. There was no AC in the bedroom and the one in the main room did not reach into the bedroom, thus very hot and uncomfortable at night, even with a fan pointed directly at us (in the bedroom). The beaches down the road are very good but it's a 10-12 minute walk (uphill going home). The restaurants nearby are all very good and the area is not too touristy compared with other villages nearby. If they sorted the bedrooms out (bed and AC) we would definitely return, as everything else was so good.

Cozy apartment in a lovely area

Balitos Apartments is located in a nice, quieter living area only few kilometers away from Chania city centre. Nearest local bus station was only 30 meters away from the hotel, so it was easy to move around with busses. The hotel was really cozy and our room was spacious and clean. The biggest praise still goes to the amazing hotel staff who were both helpful and super friendly.

Αβολο για οικογενειες. Καναπες ακαταλληλος

Ησυχο και ευκολα προσβασιμο ξενοδοχειο. Ευγενικο προσωπικο.
Αλλα παντελως ακαταλληλο στρωμα σε καναπε κρεβατι για το 4ο ατομο.
Κλιματισμος δεν δουλεψε ποτε.
Καθαριοτητα μη επαρκης και η καμαριερα ενω λειπαμε ολη μερα εως τις 16:30 ερχοταν αργοτερα και το δωματιο δεν ηταν ετοιμομοταν το χρειαζομασταν

Ottima posizione per raggiungere le vicine spiagge di Agia Marina e la città di Chania oltre alle spiagge, un po' più lontane, di Elafonissi, Falasarna e Balos. Il comfort dei letti è migliorabile. Ottimo comunque il rapporto qualità/prezzo

Hyggelig på Balito

Et enkelt familiedrevet apartment hotel til svært gunstig pris. Svært hyggelig personale. Stort rom med dusj og te-kjøkken og en liten balkong. Gratis Wi-Fi og svømmebasseng. Ligger i et rolig strøk med svært lite trafikk. Ca. 15 min spasertur nedover til hovedveien mellom Chania og Platanias som går langs stranden, hvor de fleste restauranter og butikker ligger. Anbefales for lav-budsjett turister.

Très bon séjour

Beaucoup de difficultés à trouver l'hôtel en suivant les indications notées sur le site. Mais l'hôtel est calme, bien situé par rapport à la plage et aux nombreux restaurants de cette partie balnéaire de Chania. La chambre était grande et possédait un balcon avec vue sur la mer. Très bon accueil malgré une arrivée tardive. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié Chania, qui est une ville facile d'accès, très animée et belle.

CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!!

Ho trascorso 7 giorni e 6 notti con la mia ragazza in uno dei mini-appartamenti del Balito. Premetto che la scelta è caduta su Balito per principalmente per la posizione e poi per la convenienza economica.
POSIZIONE 10:Buon punto di partenza per visitare l'intera parte occidentale di Creta,la costa meridionale,ma anche la parte centrale.Un po distante la parte orientale, ma noi ci siamo concessi un giorno intero per raggiungere l'Acquario di Creta e Heraklion.
SERVIZIO 10:La proprietaria sempre pronta a dare consigli. Ci ha quasi fatto un itinerario di soggiorno per l'intera settimana! Disponibilissima per qualsiasi problema: al momento della prenotazione il sito non mi dava la possibilità di cambiare la scelta sul letto ed al nostro arrivo l'appartamento assegnatoci aveva i letti singoli, spiegandogli la situazione ha subito provveduto a cambiarci l'appartamento;il giorno della partenza avevamo la necessita di usare il fornello elettrico ma,non funzionava,la Signora è stata così gentile da farci usare quello nell'ultimo appartamento disponibile!
PULIZIA 10: Servizio biancheria eccellente, cambio asciugamani tutti i giorni, e pulizie giornaliere.Un grazie immenso va alla Signora delle pulizie, che giornalmente ci ha lavato i piatti e le posate sporche(anche perchè l'appartamento non era fornito di spugna o sapone per i piatti).
Unici nei: anta del piatto doccia mancante e cucina povera di piastre e pentole(solo2e piccole).
GIUDIZIO FINALE: OTTIMO!!!!
