Nice old school place to stay. We booked a double bed room and we don’t mind two single beds being pushed together to facilitate this however both beds were completely different heights and had thick bed frames that meant they did not meet in the middle and there was a large gap. The pillows were basically non existent as they felt like they were more full of air than any sort of pillow material which was very uncomfortable to sleep with. Unfortunately gave us very stiff/sore necks for the following 3 days of our trip. Otherwise the staff were lovely, and the room was cosy. Very close to everything which was great to get around and see things.

Avoid this Hotel!

We stayed here bc of the location. Room was very small and dirty. TV didn't work, so someone tried resetting it for 2 hours. The next day, the janitor \"fixed\" it but it still didn't work. I tried to unplug it and replug it & the TV just came off its 1mm thick plastic holder. When we notified the old Russian guy at reception, he started yelling and wouldn't stop. He claimed we had done \"real damage\", he \"would call the police\", it would take \"3 hours to fix\". He said there were signs saying \"Don't Touch\" (there weren't). We left him standing there yelling. The next morning he had calmed down, but when I said I didn't like how he had treated us, he started yelling the same BS. He's at reception all the time, so there's no avoiding him.

Very clean place to sleep at night after a while day of walking. The pillows are down which are a plus for me and my neck. Breakfast is good. Location is fantastic a half a block away from big high end shopping and restaurants .

If I could leave ZERO stars I would!
We checked in on a Sunday afternoon/evening and they put us into a room that was literally IN the lobby. They they started tacking on fees for Berlin City Tax, room key deposit, remote control deposit. We were told there were no other rooms available, even though the screen the woman at the front desk was looking at had plenty of green on it.
The next day, while walking around bites started to appear all over my girlfriend which only got worse as the day wore on.
The following morning, I woke up and killed three small bugs crawling in the sheets! Each one was filled with blood. We packed up and told the woman at the desk who told us they were mosquito bites. We showed her the bugs in the sheets and she just shrugged at us, then had the audacity to ask “are you checking out?”
Of your disgusting, flea bag, bed bug infested motel?! Yes. As soon as humanly possible!
A day later and we are covered in red bites.
CAdditionally, the room was dirty, the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned before we checked in, and did I mention the door was literally IN the lobby?!?
Don’t be fooled by the pictures online. There were no red towels folded neatly on our bed. Just some dingy white towels that probably haven’t been cleaned since the Potsdam Conference!

Conveniently situated hotel

The hotel was a good value given the location. We didn't opt for the buffet breakfast on account of the bakeries and Starbucks in the area. The bed wasn't ask that comfy and the walls were pretty thin but luckily the other guests kept pretty quiet.

I actually only stayed here because all other hotels were full. It is disgusting how much the prices go up because of a convention in town. A 400 euro per week hotel went up to 1200 for the same crappie room. Anyway Castell was comfy the people nice. The area is good enough I mean if you want the Rolex store or Pravda!!!

great price for posh area...

the hotel is older and probably in need of some improvement...but the style is consistent with older European hotels...there is no A/C and the walk from the nearest train station can be long if you are carrying/dragging bags with you (or if the weather is hot)...the area is very nice with all the top fashions shops within easy walking distance...there are numerous cafes and restaurants to choose from, but not much of a nightlife (past 10PM)...overall a great value considering the location as long as you can live without A/C or a lot of amenities that you may get with more current hotels...

No frills hotel in a great location.

This is a pokey, old fashioned, no-nonsense hotel right in the heart of Berlin. My room was clean and comfortable and had a nice outlook onto some trees and ivy. The dining room was light-filled and a decent buffet breakfast available.

Although the hotel is in a good location and is close to public transport links to central Berlin it is in need of updating and the decor is a \"little tired\" . The staff are friendly and the breakfast was ok. The room we were in was next to the reception and was could be noisy at times. The furniture in the room was very basic although the bed was comfortable.

Castell is a hotel with very solid price/performance ratio. You may be surprised with the reception desk on the 2nd floor or paid wi-fi, but on the other hand the placement of the hotel is very good (the only problem is that the nearest U-station is 5-10 minutes of walk away), it has lot of good restaurants in the walking distance, the staff is rather friendly, and the price for rooms (offseason) is more than acceptable. I've seen more expensive and less comfortable hotels in other European capitals before.

Hotel Castell am Kufuerstendamm-bad location

The room had a very bad smell an the hallway smelt even worse, like urine. The hotel made us pay for the internet when all the other hotels on our trip gave it for free. Also, the location was really far from all the main attractions and was a far walk from the most convenient metro stop where most of the lines run through.

Perfect for our family

I traveled with my three teenage sons. The location was perfect. We felt safe even coming home after midnight. The breakfast spread was delicious , something for everyone. I highly recommend this hotel

Interesting bijou hotel

The hotel is in an old building just off Kurfuerstendamm. It feels more like having your own apartment really due to having a front door key, a floor key & a room key. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast consisted of cold meats, yoghurts, eggs, bread, preserves etc, plenty to choose from. The room was large, if a bit dated. Ideal place to stay for a mini break.

Hotel Castell - great value in nice location

A small and unusual hotel up a flight of stairs and occupying upper floors of the building. We had booked a quadruple room with our 2 teenage sons and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Very good value for money with a good complimentary breakfast to start the day. Location was easily accessible to transport links and tourist sightseeing buses were a 10-15 in walk away.

Hotel Castell off the Kurfuerstendamm

Hotel Castell on Kurfuerstendamm is a very nice but basic hotel. I have no complaints. It was very good value as it includes breakfast which is very important if you're out in Berlin all day!

The street it is located on is very high-end with not many bars or restaurants. Travel to the east is essential for a night out.

The only thing is the receptionist was a bit uninterested in the guests like she didnt want to be there but that didnt really bother us.

If you are a couple it's very suitable, it's cheap and cheerful and ticked every box for us.

Oh and our beds were very comfy!

Hotel has good location off great shopping street in Charlottenburg.
The best part about the hotel was the breakfast which was very good, but the actual hotel is quite shabby and not greatly looked after. The building is lovely but the rooms could have been a bit cleaner.
It is very much a budget place. Fine if you are not going to be spending time there and not for too long. Breakfast is very good as are the prices.

Pretty Good Little Hotel

I thought this was a very nice hotel. My room was equipped with an excellent on suite shower facility. Not the most fancy of hotels but very comfortable and great service. The breakfast was quite amazing with a wide selection of great breakfast foods including cereals, meats, cheeses, rollmop and much more. Excellent for less fussy travellers and a good price. Good area for shoppers and pretty close to some great locations.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The hotel was situated in a really nice area of Berlin with excellent public transport connections and lots of restaurants nearby. The room was very clean and the reception staff were very friendly. The breakfast that was provided in a morning was fantastic with a huge variety of food and drink on offer. I would definitely stay here again

An sich ein super süßes Hotel und ein sehr schöner Altbau. Vor Allem das Treppenhaus, der alte Aufzug und der Essbereich haben einen tollen nostalgischen Charme. Schade, dass man diesen bei der restlichen Einrichtung nicht beibehalten hat- denn die Zimmereinrichtung wirkt eher lieblos zusammengewürfelt. Jedoch waren Zimmer und Bad sehr sauber.
Leider gingen durch unser Zimmer senkrecht durch die Decke sehr dicke Rohre, die durchgehend heiß waren, was einen Effekt wie eine Heizung, die durchgehend vollgas läuft, hatte. Daher fühlte es sich Ende April an wie im Hochsommer. Wir mussten die ganze Zeit das Fenster offen haben, leider war es aber im Innenhof bis 2 Uhr nachts sehr laut (vermutlich von der Pizzeria nebenan), sodass wir nicht wirklich erholsam schlafen konnten.. Auch war es sehr hellhörig, sodass man nachts Zimmernachbarn bei gewissen Aktivitäten sehr deutlich hören konnte.
Würde man dem Hotel jedoch mit ein wenig Liebe den Charme, den der Rohbau schon bietet noch untermalen, wäre das eine ganz tolle Investition!

On the second day there were any towels, I went to ask and they forgot to bring them, so I had to go ask again. And the third day the big towel wasn't clean.
Also they charge you for not arriving for check in between 8 and 10 hours in the morning, even when the person at the reception is there. Can't understand why is that in a hotel.

建物が古かったですが、手入れが行き届いており、スタッフの方も親切で、問い合わせや依頼をするとすぐに対応してくれました。
エレベーターが古かったのが一番の欠点でした。

Hôtel près de nombreux transports mais absolument pas au calme, dès 7h de gros travaux de façade dans le bâtiment d'à côté, le soir les restaurants de la rue sont très bruyants et très mauvaise isolation dans l'hôtel car on entend les autres clients de l'hôtel qui prennent leurs douches et absence de WC dans les chambres : rien n'était précisé. Absence de personnel dans la journée
mon avion a eu beaucoup de retard j'ai été obligée de prendre un taxi sinon je ne pouvais pas avoir la clé car la réception fermait à 22h00 et pas d'autres choix !!!

Jag åkte dit med en kompis den 13/4 till den 17/4-23. Hotellet var ren och sängarna var bra. Bekvämt hotellrum. Dock så hade huset bredvid oss riktigt galna hantverkare som höll på att renovera fasaden. Hantverkarna skrek och borrade från 5 (förutom lördagen och söndagen). Vi blev inte informerad om detta och fick inget i ersättning eller liknande. Managern sa att de inte kunde göra något åt det. Sömn kan man ju tänka sig hur bra den var

Slitet hotell med dåligt utgångsläge

Rummet var mörkt och lite deppigt. Hela hotellet slitet och läget var inte så bra för oss. Vi fick checka in 4 timmar tidigare vilken var ett stort plus och kvinnan var trevlig men kunde inte engelska. Badrummet mycket fräscht och duschen en av dom bästa jag använt. Sängarna var sköna.

Good location, low price,lOtherwise...Depressing dingy dark room on ground floor- room 20!!- absolutely no daylight and cheap decor. Noisy fans on the courtyard outside the window. Hyvä sijainti, aamiainen hintansa väärti. Pohjakerroksen pimeä huone, josta näkymä rojuiselle, unohdetulle sisäpihalle. Korkea huone olisi vaatinut hyvän valaistuksen. Nuori nainen respassa normaalin ystävällinen, muilta ei herunut kuin kyräilyä. Voihan olla, että ylemmissä kerroksissa löytyy valoisuutta, unnukat maalaiset emme tajunneet yrittää saada vaihtaa huonetta

Fint sted at overnatte, behagelige senge, fint toilet og fed lokation, lige op ad Kurfürstendamm. Lille værelse men vi havde ikke brug for mere. Morgenmaden er dog ikke noget at råbe hurra over. Det er ikke 4-stjernet men helt fint ift pris og når man er på storbysferie tilbringer man alligevel ikke så tid på hotellet.

Ich bin bei Kritiken oft überrascht (nicht nur bei diesem Hotel), daß Menschen für einen günstigen Preis dann das perfekte Hotel erwarten. Ja, das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, ja unser Zimmer war klein (Zi. 311) und hatte nur 3 Steckdosen, so daß keine frei war, wenn Nachttischlampe, Fernseher und Zusatzheizung eingestöpselt waren. Unüblich ist natürlich, Übernachtung und Frühstück im voraus zu bezahlen, aber stört das wirklich? Auch das Frühstück ist mit 6 € preiswert und die Qualität natürlich entsprechend. Die Lage ist sehr gut und der LIbanese um die Ecke, insbesondere sonntags das Vorspeisenbüfett beim Brunch für 16,50 €, sehr empfehlenswert. Alles in allem würde ich wieder buchen.

In einer schoenen und guenstigen lage

An unserem ersten Morgen, der Mann an der Rezeption weigerte sich, meine Bankkarte für unser Frühstück zu akzeptieren. Er bestand darauf, dass ich bar bezahlte und später meine Karte akzeptierte.
und als ich nach zwei Nächten im Hotel nach Hause kam, hatte ich Insektenstiche an meiner linken Schulter.

Отель очень уютный и чистый. Расположение великолепное , самый центр города. Здание отеля старинное , потолки высокие, соответственно в номере не бывает душно. Лифт старинный. Выдают ключи и можно приходить во сколько хочешь. Кормят хорошо вкусно разнообразно и не дорого. Очень удобно добраться от Аэропорта Шенефельд без пересадок по U7 до Аденауэрплац, потом пешком немного пройти , очень близко . Много автобусов до разный частей города. Персонал доброжелательный русскоговорящий.

Edullinen ja kohtuullisen hyvä hotelli

Siisti hotelli rauhallisella sivukadulla. Aamiainen oli yksinkertainen mutta hintansa veroinen (5€/hlö). Hieman syrjässä nähtävyyksiltä mutta bussi ja metroasema kävelymatkan päässä (metrolla Brandenburin torille kävely mukaan lukien kesti noin 40min). Lähistöllä paljon ravintoloita (ja luksusliikkeeitä). Respa oli toisessa kerroksessa, jonne pääsi myös hissillä mutta nynnyinä emme uskaltaneet hyvin iäkkään oloista hissiä käyttää.

Abgesehen vom unzureichenden Frühstücksraum, der deutlich zu klein ist, saurer Milch, schlechter Kaffee, war das Zimmer ausschließlich zur Übernachtung.
Der Service ist ungenügend und teilweise unfreundlich. Handtücher wurden nicht gewechselt; gleiches war beider Bettwäsche.
Zusätzliche Wünsche werden angenommen, leider nicht umgesetzt.

Zoo駅から歩いても15分程、バスを使えば5分。ベルリンの中心部なので、どこへ出かけるのも便利。
部屋は明るく清潔。
しかしWifiが入るはずが入らず。
またトイレの電気も点くまで5秒以上かかりました。

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel - bei Prada rechts rein sagt schon viel zur Lage. In der ruhigeren Wielandstr. Gelegen ist man dennoch sehr schnell am Kuhdamm und mittendrin in Berlin.

Freundliches staff - checkin/out unkompliziert. Zimmer war sehr sauber, klein aber angenehm, altbau Wohnung. Good value for money.

week end a Berlino

We stayed in berlin for 3 days and hotel's position was pretty good for moving mainly everywhere with pubblic transport. The guest house was cosy, very clean, quite, very big room for 3, tipical german breakfast with a lot of choice. We arrived at 1.30a.m reception opened. We suggest this hotel good ratio quality/price.

War ok...

Für meine Zwecke war es ausreichend, wer nur was zum schlafen und duschen braucht und eine gute bus und bahn verbindung benötigt ist hier gut untergebracht... W lan ist nicht wirklich gut eher schwach, wenn man überhaupt rein kommt!!!

Zweckmäßiges Hotel mitten im Zentrum von Berlin.

Das Hotel ist zweckmäßig für einen kurzen Aufenthalt in Berlin. Das Personal ist nett und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer war sauber und aufgeräumt. In 2min ist man am Kuhdamm. Die nächste U Bahn Station ist in 8-10 min zu Fuß erreichbar.

Nött men rent

Gammaldags stämning. Nästan 50-tals känsla med knarrande golv och högt i tak. Ett absolut plus att det var mycket rent och städat. Och läget!

Udemærket til prisen

Fint hotel til prisen. Wifi virkede stortset kun i spisesalen og på gange. Vi havde et værelse forenden af gangen. Udemærket værelse, dog lidt køligt, men der var elvarmer som kunne benyttes. Ok standart morgenmad til 5 Euro. Venligt personale. Udemærket beliggenhed hvis man er til shopping. Alt i alt en udemærket oplevelse .

Very good value for money

The room was clean and big enough, the bathroom very nice. Breakfast was simple, but very good for the (low) price. The hotel is situated just off the Kurfürstendamm, and there was some, but not much, noise from people on the streets. Several good restaurants very close by. We stayed with our son in a double room with extra bed and enjoyed our stay.

Hôtel idéalement situé

L'hôtel est situé dans un quartier calme, pas de nuisance sonore, mais aussi tout près de la rue commerçante Kurfustendamm. Le bus est accessible en 5min, le métro en 10. Personnel accueillant. Pour le petit-déjeuner, il y a de la charcuterie, des oeufs, c'est assez complet.

Prima hotel voor n kort verblijf, Wi-Fi aanwezig in de hotelkamer.
Helaas geen Nederlandse tv zenders op de tv te zien, wat toch fijn zou zijn...even het nieuws kijken ofzo.
Ontbijt voor 5 euro was ook prima, genoeg keuze.
Openbaar vervoer was ook dichtbij (bus en metro) waardoor je ook zo aan de andere kant van berlijn stond.

Vänligt bemötande av personalen.Vårt rum mot gården tyst och lugnt trots öppet fönster. Sängarna knarrade men var trots det sköna. Badrummet får högsta betyg.

Albergo in Jugendstil su più piani

Albergo ideale per un soggiorno di alcuni giorni a Berlino; colazione abbondante a buffet. La nostra camera tripla aveva 2 comodi letti, 1 cosiddetto letto king (enorme) e 1 letto singolo. Il bagno era spazioso e dotato di tutti gli accessori necessari (ampi asciugamani, phon, detergente doccia e shampo, ecc.). Possibilità di noleggiare biciclette per visitare la città. Personale alla reception molto gentile: su nostra richiesta, ha provveduto a farci il check online per il volo di ritorno. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Hyggeligt og ordentligt, centralt placeret

Nydeligt, rent og pænt hotel 20 meter fra Kurfürstendam. Ikke luksus, men med en rar og behagelig atmosfære. Værelse, wc og bad helt fint m. TV.
Følte mig godt tilpas på hotellet og i dets umiddelbare omgivelser.

Jättemysigt hotell. Rent och fräsht. Lätt att ta sig till/från Tegel men även inom staden. Kanonbra frukostbuffé! Dock fel i hotels.com's beskrivning att den ingick utan kostnad, vilket nog inte var hotellets fel.

Super zentrale Lage am Kurfürstendam.

Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis für die Lage in Berlin absolut super.
Hotel ist bestens geeignet für eine Städtetour für einige Tage.
Wir haben nichts wesentliches bei der Ausstattung vermisst da wir nur zum Übernachten ein Zimmer gesucht hatten, die meiste Zeit ist man sowieso unterwegs.
Problematisch könnte die Parksituation sein. Wir hatten jedoch Glück und haben direkt vor dem Hotel einen freien Parkplatz gefunden.
Die Nutzung des Autos in Berlin ist nicht sinnvoll da der öffenliche Nahverkehr super funktioniert und man vom Hotel aus schnell die S-Bahn, U-Bahn als auch Bus erreichen kann.

Prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Het ligt op een goede centrale lokatie. Dicht bij winkels, restaurantjes, openbaar vervoer en bezienswaardigheden. Het ontbijt is oké. Lekker, niet overdreven maar zeker meer dan genoeg. De kamer was schoon en het personeel was aardig. Wij hadden twee drie persoonskamers. De ene kamer paste twee keer in de andere kamer.

Gutes Hotel mit sehr kurzer Distanz zum KuDam

Für ein paar Tage Aufenthalt um Berlin zu erleben hat sich das Hotel bestens geeignet. Zum KuDamm sind es ca. 2 Minuten. Der Rest der Wege in die City ist besser mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erleben.
