Cleaning the toilet is very poor with mold buildup inside the shower and around the lavatory, that's all the problem of the hotel, if not I'll give them five stars. The staff is excellent and professional.
The breakfast is A-level, but please get a cleaner who cares, and takes pride in it.

Really nice enjoyable stay. The staff were great and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choices.
Room was spacious with a comfortable bed.
Neighbouring rooms were a bit loud at times, but didn't affect the overall stay.

Would happily come and stay here again 🙂

There is no lift to reception. I was expecting somewhere really nice as its 4 star hotel, but very small area, small rooms with no service at all. The refrigerator was empty only a bottle of water. No table and chair to use. We had our tea on our beds.
Not comfortable at all.

The electricity was on and off on a generator for the duration of the trip. once during breakfast and the next 2/3 hours it tripped around 50/60 times. i think whilst we were in the hotel it tripped around 500 times. generator would remained on overnight and could be heard through out the night. Totally ruined our experience in Istanbul. other hotels in the area were not affected. we had 3 rooms in the end. I want some sort of refund.

It was terrible experience. The receptionist Mr. Azad behaved very bad he snatched our personal items including mobile phones, laptops, and other presents. These people even don't know how to treat foreigners in Turkey. Zagreb hotel staff is really bad they don't have manners their attitude shows foreigners are slave in their country. On more thing, during midnight, all receptionist's attacked us with knife in our room 509 & 511 we somehow rescued ourself and left this hotel. I will never recommend any one to book this hotel as this is unsafe. Thanks.

I found the place quite basic for the price l paid £519 from the 6th June to 11th WiFi poor. Had to pay for water each day to drink. Breakfast was quite poor nothing either English or continental. It was basically breakfast only no other food that you could buy even though there was a cafe apart from hot and cold drink
No English television every station foreign bored to tears in my room.
Tried to listen to the radio in my room on my phone but because the WiFi was so poor it kept cutting out.
Would l stay here again no.

Stayed here with my mother after relocating from a different hotel and honestly the experience was everything. Staff were super friendly and attention especially the cleaning lady and Younus the doorman who always ran to help us with our bags! I felt looked after always and safe. We didn’t get a chance to try the hammam which is the only let down as we missed the staff due to timings however would honestly recommend this hotel! Great rooms and very easy to get around the shops and access to tram station! Thanks Hotel Zagreb!

Outstanding package offered by hotel. Staff was incredibly courteous and helpful will all requests. Breakfast was above average and well organized. Spa, sauna and swimming pool exceeded expectations. Great location for shopping, exploring historic areas and markets plus close to tram and metro. For the price, a great bargain and will definitely return.

The first thing that you notice is that you need to go up some stairs to get to the main hotel lift which is somehow peculiar. However the friendly staff will take all luggage to your room. The swimming pool isn't very big or deep but the water is warm and nice music playing in the area. Rooms are OK with great water pressure in the shower, breakfast is buffet, the lentil soup is quite good. Hotel location is quite touristy with expensive restaurants and Taxis nearby but also quite convenient to walk. Overall an enjoyable stay, certainly recommended

Not a great stay overall. Rude reception staff that weren’t helpful. Small rooms that not fully functioning bathroom. Bathroom and bed sheets not clean either. Breakfast was satisfactory. Not much variety.
Best thing about the hotel was the location. Close to tram line and a 10-15 min journey to main site seeing places.
Pool was also nice.

Double bed is two beds together. Hot water. No view just abandoned buildings on 1st floor in back. Decent breakfast. Staff in dining room very good. 4 english channels on tv. Close to metro 4 minutes. Close to sultanahmet 20 minute walk.alot of restaurants and shopping near by.tea pot in room. No cold water in room. Frig barely working. Mattress pad stained. No top sheet. No washcloth. No conditioner. No lotion.

At least the room had AC...

Let’s start from what was good. The room had AC. That was about it.
What was not good: Room I stayed in was very small. I asked hotel staff to be moved to a bigger room and the guy said all the rooms are same size. You can’t even sit on the toilet straight because your legs don’t fit in the space between toilet and shower wall. There is no elevator from the ground floor to the receptionist so I had to carry my suitcase up the narrow stairs. Walls are pretty thin. You can here the phone conversation next door. It’s not worth the price.

Tight room, we booked it for 2 adults and 1 child more than 7 years they gave us 1 room even not enough for 1 adult, they got too much money for that child without extra bed, u should go up one staircase to rich the elevator, i don't recommend it.

there is no elevator from the ground floor, you have to go one level up by stair where you will find the reception and the elevator on the first floor.
at check in, the officer gives us small room two single bed, the shower and fridge were not working after discussion with evening officer in duty, he gave us a good room with good condition.
breakfast is mainly eggplant and variety of cheese with yogurt and different type of jam and sweets.

The elevator was from the second floor and for an elderly person it is a bit inconvenient.

I was disappointed to get a small room with a dirty bathroom but after my first review; they apologised and changed my room that day. the hotel staff are very friendly especially the new lady at the reception (note this was like the tenth time I stayed there but I was glad not to find the unfriendly man who used to be at the reception)!
Zagreb's Dream Restaurant provides the tastiest meals at a very cheap price!

Zagreb; an unpleasant experience

Bad check-in; no greeting just \"where's your passport?\" Guests are not allowed to have a drink and watch the sunset from the terrace; this is strictly for swimming. Photo's are badly deceptive - the pool is really tiny. bedrooms are the smallest i've seen in a hotel. Staff attitude was terrible. The breakfast buffet was very average. On the whole, I felt very uncomfortable in this hotel and cancelled my remaining nights for the Mosaic Hotel just up the road, which was brilliant!

Great Time in Istanbul

We stayed in here for a few days in August. It is a small but elegant hotel. Very comfortable and staff is extremely friendly,employees at the front desk helped us with everything, from scheduling a shuttle to airport to recommending tours and restaurants to eat. Good thing about hotel that everything is within walking distance Grand Bazaar and Bayezit Mosque is about 15 minutes and further down is Aya Sofia, Topakapi Palace and Sultan Ahmet Mosque. There are a lot of attractions and things to see if you are willing to take your time and walk around. Bear in mind that this is very busy shopping district as well, there are some great clothing shops to check out. Overall experience was really great and I would definitely go back.
Ohh there is complementary breakfast in a hotel which is great with extensive choice of breakfast food, international and local alike.

Great pool, if it's clean

The rooftop pool is the main attraction here. Too bad the water was cloudy for two days. And the pool attendant kicked me out for sitting and reading up there because You must be swimming. Most of the staff were very grouchy and unfriendly. The breakfast was a great spread. The rooms were tiny. They were remodeling 4/5 of the floors, with construction going on till midnight! The location is an easy tram ride to the center.

Easy to get to by subway

The hotel is dated but easy to find and 10 min walk from the subway so you can get there from the airport by walking. There is a mini mart across the street so you are close to water, soda, snacks, etc 24 hours a day. There is a mosque near by so i would recommend staying on the 1st floor but you'll hear it regardless. The WiFi was good for us. There is also a PC in the lobby to use for light work and minimal printing for free. The breakfast is great and is a full buffet. The pool was cold but felt good after walking all day in the heat. The Blue Mosque is is a good 15-20 min walk or a short train ride. We took the train in and walked back. The train will also go to the Grand Bazaar and Spice Market.

Pre-CRUISE stay in Istanbul

We stayed for 4 nights in June. The staff were quite helpful when quizzed about istanbul, etc.

After hectic days seeing the sights we wanted to chill by watching TV - About 1000 Channels - YEH !!!!! With 2 English channels - CNN and BBC. What a dead loss !!!!!

The appealing pool was FFFFreeeeeeezing - to say the least.

All in all - a well located Hotel - very accessible to the Trams. The room - although smallish - was clean and tidy with a quite comfortable bed. Breakfast was sufficient - quite repetitive - BUT OK.

Location is good. The pool on the top floor was nice on a hot day. The bad: the room was extremely small and in need of renovation. We found on a second day that window did not lock properly and there was a lot of street noise because of that. Also it's close to a mosque so expect to be waken up at 5am every morning.

Great location of a hotel, but small rooms

Hotel Zagreb is located in a very nice neighbourhood, Grand Bazaar is very close, if you walk is around 10 min away, but if you take a train is 3 stops and it takes only around 3 minutes. Sultan Ahmet station is also right after Grand Bazaar, and there yuo can see Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Cisterna Bazilika. You can also find a lot of nice places to eat local food and drink local and all other drinks.

The only problem about this hotel are small rooms (specialy beds) and the knowledge of english language of the employers.

I must say that the breakfast that was included in room reservation was great. You can choose all kinds of Turkish specialties and also all kind of other delicious meals.

We visited Istanbul in firt week of march and the weather was still pretty cold, so we had a little of problem with coldness at the pool, probably because not so many guests used it and they didn't made it warmer, but above all that the pool area is very nice decorated.

Didn't like the hotel and hotel employees... I arrived at 2 am after 12 hour flight and i was asked so many questions about Canada, my motherland etc - i was forced to stop the guy at the reception to stop bugging me with all those question and finally get me the keys. I got the room at the 5th room - i NEVER seen such a tiny room even i lot. Bed was terrible with the cheap and uncomfortable mattress.

Honestly speaking it's like a 2 star hotel 5 miles away from Las Vegas.

Be careful with Taxi - ask the bell boy to get you an official taxi (yellow) with a Taximeter - otherwise you will get a shuttle or a taxi without any taximeter and you will pay at least twice as much as the official rate.

Keep in mind - sea port is only 15 min away and taxi can not cost more then 30 TL (about $18) - at the reception i was offered with flat rate taxi of 50TL...

Great hotel close to major tourist sites

Stayed in this hotel for a week May / June 2014. The staff were very helpful with all requests, food (breakfast and dinner) were extremely good quality, taste and quantity.

Swimming pool (which was free) was open until 10.30pm every evening and a welcome relief at the end of a day trekking around. Was unable to find the wave/current generating element so just swam lots of very short lengths.

Cleanliness was superb, better than many other hotels I've been too.

If you're looking for entertainment then sit in the corner seat of the bar during an evening and you will see life pass by with the street traders below.

Really enjoyed our stay and all staff we came into contact with were without exception very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful hotel, short walk to trams

Friendly helpful hotel staff, excellent food. Pool on the roof with views of the mosque and sea..I Had a sauna and an amazing massage. Trams easy to navigate and only one stop to the grand bazaar.

Excellent customer service and situated in a nice

We arrived much earlier than the booking in time of 12 o'clock (6am). Staff prepared our room immediately whilst we were offered free breakfast, which was very welcome after a long flight. Hotel very nice apart from a flight of stairs for access to and from hotel. Pool a little shabby, but overall a good reasonably priced hotel.

Don't be fooled by the pictures

Pro: Location is very good. Able to walk around and take the metro for sightseeing.

Con: Everything else. The pictures are highly misleading and does not reflect the current state of the hotel. The rooms are tiny and smells like urine. Bathroom is small with tiny shower hardly able to get in and out of. Overall it's a very old hotel and requires renovation.

Certainly not a four-star hotel

Very odd to have a flight of stairs up to the lobby. Stayed here for five nights. The room we stayed in the first night was extremely stuffy and there was no air circulation. Asked to change for our remaining nights and the front desk staff willingly complied with our request. The second room, while still very small, was slightly larger that the first and had glass doors that opened wide (as opposed to the first room which had a window up extremely high that was difficult to see out of). These doors allowed for air circulation. Also a \"bonus\" came with the room change: in the first room, the shower was so small that if you dropped the soap, you were out of luck--it was almost impossible to bend down to pick it up! The second room's shower was larger (a comfortable size) and the bathroom was better laid out. In fact, the whole room had a better layout. There was a luggage rack in the room, but nowhere to keep it, so it would be better left out. Luggage needs to be kept closed and standing upright.

Good hotel for the price ...

We had an excellent stay. Rooms are a little small if you are staying for a few days. We changed ours after the first night and were happy with this, although it was still quiet small. Wardrobe space is also limited.... so don't bring lots of clothes that need to be hung. There is not a mini bar in the room, however room services is excellent and prices are average. Staff were wonderful and they were what made our stay a memorable one. We would definitely visit this hotel again.

OK Hotel for short term Stay

The Hotel is ok with room size is small barely enough room to move around the bed. there is no chair to sit in so you have to sit on the bed all the time.
the staff are friendly and have kindly allowed me to check-in before the 12am.
breakfast has a good range of foods, drinks and coffee and a relaxing atmosphere.
close to Asksaray tram-line but has a steep hill to climb to get to the hotel.
