Lovely staff, amazing Pho and fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning. We enjoyed the pool and how close this hotel was to everything. Our room was a little smelly from the bathroom, so hoping this gets worked out because everything else was wonderful about our stay.

The host Helen who runs the front desk and takes care of things is awesome - super nice, friendly, knowledgeable and always a smile.

Nice location pretty close to downtown and easy connection to the beach. Pool is private, decent sized and like every other pool in Vietnam at this time it is warm water. Our room faced the street but was still quiet with good windows.

This is a colonial mansion turned to hotel, with huge stairways and alleys between rooms; the dining room is also huge. We just love the classic look of the building. It is within walking distance to Old Hoa An and its many attractions (UN heritage sites, silk factory, river shore walkway), shops and local markets. Breakfast buffet has a good variety of western and Vietnamese food, we were there for 5 days and still enjoyed the menu. Our room booked through Expedia is large, comfortable and clean. It has a patio door opened to a small balcony, overlooking the alley along the hotel; we could see or hear the heavy rain pattering the glass, a nostalgic memory of rainy season in Central Vietnam. We already mark this place in our future visit to Hoi An.

Something about this hotel connected me to memories of a place where I used to have a youth summer camp in Portugal. I guess pretty ok for a 3-star hotel. :) I like the little balconies, the quietude... it's not too far from the main tourist spots...

Great staff and relaxing hotel

vI was here 2 nights and came in after a day of touring. Welcome smiles met me. The staff took me through major town details and organised \"everything\" I needed. Manager was amazing...... The room was comfortable - large bed, hotwater, tv, fridge and aircon. Breaky provided. Bakery and coffee shops nearby. Good courtyard to watch the world go by with friends. Early checkout, airport shuttle and early breakfast were all catered for. Great few days. See you all again.

Lovely hotel close to markets & old town!

A lovely warm welcome from Anna, who gave me good local advice on shopping & facilities in and outside of the hotel. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere, and is architecturally pleasing. My room had French doors with wooden shutters which kept it cool during the day, without need for air conditioning. My room had a balcony, but those without have windows overlooking the lovely pool, which looks stunning at night. Breakfast was wide and varied, with plenty of fresh fruit and produce. Turning right out of the hotel, then first left brings you directly to the myriad of streets for shopping, eating, massage and to the Old Town. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, for its character and proximity to everything Hoi An has to offer. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Hoi An!

We stayed there 4 nights and we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. Our room was definitely good size, bed was decent and bathroom too, only thing hot water would run out quickly sometimes.
Their breakfast was good and had many options. Our room was on 4th floor and there's no elevator, but we weren't too bothered by that.
Decent hotel and great staff near Hoi An old town, 10 minute walk more or less.

Good hotel in excellent location

This hotel is in a great location. It takes only a few minutes stroll to be at the market. A 10 minute easy stroll gets you well into the old town. Our room was spacious with a comfy large bed. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs which was a nice place to sit in the evening. The bathroom was clean. It had a shower over the bath. There was also a fridge and safe in the room.
The staff were friendly and always waved and said hello when we went in and out.
The pool area is well kept. There were a few beds around the pool and some of them had a cushion. The pool went into the shade in the afternoon so it was very nice to sit out by the pool.
The hotel also has a bar and restaurant although we didn't use this facility.
Breakfast was a buffet and the options were excellent and also some of the options changed daily. There was an egg station, cereals, juices, bread, happy cow cheese, toast, ham, noodles and pho etc.

The hotel staff were outstanding and it was so nice to be greeted by your first name every morning! The hotel was comfortable and clean, with an 'old feel' to the place. There was not much place to hang out in the room because the one bed was humongous! Breakfast was amazing, especially the mango pancakes! The place very convenient to wverything was only a ten minute walk to the ancient town of Hoi An.

We stayed for 3 days. The hotel location was good being only 5 min walk from the old town, but the room was cramped with too much furniture and the bathroom was smaller than expected. Room was clean though. Staff were helpful but (like many in Hoi An) were trying to sell products they were clearly getting commissions on. When we had some clothing delivered from a tailor (not the one they recommended) they were clearly disappointed and a bit annoyed we didn't go with their recommendation. We borrowed bikes from the hotel to get around town, but unfortunately some had unfixable seats (couldn't adjust seat height), poor brakes and needed tires pumped, but they did pump the tires when asked and swapped bikes were weren't comfortable with. Overall an ok experience.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The morning of our flight the Ha Noi we left the hotel at 4:30. The staff had a breakfast ready for us to take to the airport. Really a nice place the only thing is the bed was a little hard but the rest of our stay made up for the bed. We will stay there again.

We had a great stay at the Hai Au Hotel. The service was excellent, the room comfortable with a huge bed and the breakfast tasty and plentiful. Although the hotel isn't in the centre of Hoi An, it's still in a good location. It took us about 15 minutes to walk in.

We ended up staying an extra night. As our original room wasn't available, we were upgraded into an even better room with a beautifully decorated bathroom! All in all, the Hai Au was excellent value for money: a hotel experience at a hostel price!

Very clean rooms but some hiccups with service

The hotel itself is newly renovated and rooms were clean. AC in the shut off when leaving room which was not the ideal but understandable. No ac in hotel lobby or breakfast area. No elevators but staff were happy to carry our bags. They did our laundry for 30k per kilo but mixed up the bag labels so my stuff was labeled under a different room so just be cautious. They have free bicycles but I didn't rent so I don't know about the quality. I rented scooters from the lady down the adjacent alley who also hase laundry services. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to ancient town. My family was very dissatisfied with the breakfast quality and service. On both days I stayed the staff was never ready for the 6:30 breakfast start time. When I came down to the lobby at 6:20 I saw the staff sleeping in the lobby in their pajamas. They had about 30% of breakfast ready by 6:45, bread, stale pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc. Very frustrating when you try to plan your day around an early start or if you have a shuttle driver waiting which we did. No apology from staff and it seemed normal. To me it seems like a pretty pathetic or lazy attempt for a place that calls themselves a 'boutique'. Good thing there is fantastic Banh mi close by at banh mi phuong.

Tina and her team were brilliant hosts

We stayed here as one of our stops on our honeymoon. We were welcomed by Tina on arrival.

Unlike other accommodations we stayed at there was no pressure sales tactic to sign us up to tours etc... the team asked us what we wanted to do in Hoi An and made suggestions of tours and retailers we might try, but didn't press us to make a decision.... I might add all their recommendations were spot on and authentic - especially the cooking class we signed up for.

The hotel itself is well located, just a 10 to 15min walk to old town.

The hotel is clean, has good wifi, has yummy breakfast options - local and European food choices. Also, they have free bicycles for guest use - we rode out to the beach one morning (about 6km away).

All The staff are so friendly, they had a big Christmas celebration when we where there and guests could pose with staff and A local Santa. The hotel also gave us a complimentary cake to celebrate our honeymoon... a very nice touch.

Thanks to Tina and the team for a lovely stay. Looking forward to coming back in the future to stay!

FANTASTIC staff who just could not do enough for you from booking tours & flights to cooking breakfast. And their English was fluent. Breakfast was included & there were lots of choices, both hot and cold. The hotel was somewhat close to the busy area (ten minute walk or maybe 15). Staff was helpful and place was clean. AC worked great. They did provide free bikes which was cool. The bed was comfy and really clean.

Downside: they got roosters that crow in about 345 am. it's not annoying but they do make noise in early morn.
the driver didn't pick up like they said and I ended taking a taxi which was pretty expensive. Around 500,000 dong. No elevators if it matters.

Bottom line is that I would stay again.

The room is spacious & clean. Location is near the ancient town. Beach is also just a few km away.
The plus factor for me is the staffs who are so kind & accomodating. They even address me always by my name which adds personal touch. They are ready to assist & help in the best possible way they can.
There's no elevator though but it's just a 4-storey building so not much of a problem. It's an added exercise :) If you carry heavy things, they will help you with it also.

The hotel seemed rather tired although the staff, especially Tina, worked hard to make my stay a pleasant one. The pool is surrounded by buidlings in various states of disrepair, festooned with cables and pipes, making what could be a welcome cooling oasis into a mess. Breakfast was adequate, the buffet being suspended on my last day there in favour of an a la carte menu served, guess where? Poolside!
There are better value hotels in Hoi An despite the efforts of the staff.

We had two-nights say at Hai Au Hotel, the hotel has offered a car pick up from the airport for USD$25 for 7 of us. It saved us a lot of hassle from travelling from the airport to the hotel. Upon the arrival, there were lost of electricity for a few times, but it was fine throughout the night time. Upon check-in, the staff asks us to leave our passports at the counter for registration but we felt insecure, so we waited for her to finish the registration procedures (about 30min) before we went out for sightseeing. The room facilities are basically clean, except the towels. The air-conditioning system was rather weak though, perhaps the weather was too hot (around 35 degree or more) when we were there. Overally it's ok and it is better than how much it costs per night.

Overall we had a nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were very spacious and included a balcony which was nice. The location was good, a short walk away from old city. The breakfast was also good, made to order dishes but you could order as much as you liked. The staff here was amazing, very friendly, helpful and would always greet you by name. There were also free bikes you could use to get around the city or take to the beach. The only negatives for us were that the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable. Also they were doing construction work and had to turn off the electricity two mornings we were there. Would have been nice if they could have waited until the afternoon when most people are gone. Overall would recommend!

Amazing hotel and stuff! Everything was perfect!

Had wonderful 3 night stay in this hotel. The stuff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful since the moment I got there until the check out. I came with the night bus and was very tired, they gave me the room immediately and offered me to have breakfast which was great! Room was big and clean and well equipped with safe box, TV with many English channels and the best of all a desktop computer. They have a nice pool that unfortunately I didn't have time to take a swim and free bicycle for guest.
Would definitely recommend and will stay again!

We are long term travelers and the Hai Au hotel felt more like home than any other hotel that we have stayed in thus far. Excellent staff, inviting swimming pool, best breakfast in all of Asia so far. Exceptional value for money, loved having the use of free bicycles to nip around the town, tour the countryside and amble down to the beach. Highly recommended for flashpackers.

Very nice hotel with a good service !
We arrived early in the morning at 7 am and than we were allowed to have breakfast for free and could already go into ours room.
The hotel gives you free bicycles if you want,which is really nice

The rooms are big and clean just the bathroom is a bit old but still fine

Service helps you all the time

Good pool, average service.

Booked because had stayed previously and enjoyed pool, staff and location. This time we had roosters outside our room from 4:00am, there were noisey renovations next door during day and service was very average. All of which was disappointing. Is still a good location and pool is lovely. So if you OK with very relaxed service stilll not a bad choice.

we arrived late but it did not matter, yummy and staff were there to meet and greet. the room was really nice as was the entire hotel and we were paying @ 30$ a night. i liked the location which was probably about 10 minutes walk to the market which gave us a chance to see what people who didn,t have a shop or anything to sell were doing, we tried to have a chat with a barber and we didn,t speak his lingo nor him ours but it didn,t seem to matter, he may have thought we were mad and we were probably mad to think he knew what we were saying but it was fun. anyway i digress, i will stay at this hotel again, it has been renovated since we were there, god knows why, there was nothing wrong with it. gie it a go you will not be disappointed.

Very good value for money, excellent service

Staff was incredibly helpful. Facilities are very nice for the price of the hotel. It has a swimming pool. You can borrow bikes to go into the old town which is less than 5 mins away from hotel.

Feels like home away from home

This was my second stay at this hotel, and it was just as pleasant and enjoyable as the first. The hotel is located a short walk from the riverfront, and a short bike ride (Bike provided free by hotel) to the beach.The room was a good size, with a personal desk-top computer and balcony. Breakfast was adequate, as is the swimming pool. In fact the day we arrived the hotel was hosting a \"pool party\" for a couple of hours for guests, providing free drinks and snacks, and great music, so within minutes of arriving, we were meeting staff and other travellers.
The very best thing about this hotel though is the staff. They greet you by your first name, at all times, and will go to any lengths to ensure that your stay is as pleasant and memorable as possible.

We stayed for 5 days and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I couldn't really fault the Hotel considering the prices although in the future I would pay a little more to get a higher level of comfort

Great value, location , excellent service

i stayed 1 night as other hotel by river was bad. great value for great hotel, a/c , wi/fi, breakfast , large room ( i had ground floor good for pool). staff so friendly and helpful , booked my bus to danang for airport was cheap too. will stay again for longer next time.

Friendly staff and great stay at the Hai Au

We stayed for 4 nights in April/May 2015. We had come from another hotel in Hoi An which we weren't happy with. Everything about our stay at the Hai Au was great.

The staff at reception were really friendly and welcoming, rooms had everything you needed and were clean and tidy. Would definitly recommend this hotel for others, and look forward to going back
