The room was clean enough, but the bathroom was questionable, and there was water in the sink like someone had washed their hands or something. We didn’t use the shower as it didn’t look as clean as it should be, and the side of the tub facing outward was scratched and looked old. It was so noisy at night with the guests in the next room and the bed was so uncomfortable and creaky.

The tv was difficult to figure out without any directions for guest. The room was small, cramped with old furniture, well worn mattress, and overall very antiquated. No hairdyer, shampoo/conditioner, or soap to bath with. Our total cost to stay 1 night was $161. The area was beautiful but I won't be back for a stay.

The place you'd go to overdose

Pros: toilet worked, A/C worked, there was hot water.
Cons: Everything else.

I'm not picky, but for $200/night I expected more.
It's a motel with all rooms at street level.
Arrived at 7 pm to check in; office locked with a note on the door \"back in 15 minutes.\" Waited 15 minutes, no one came. Called number posted, dialed \"0\" for front desk as instructed but said \"invalid extension.\" Looked up 800 number on internet and was told by agent that they would resolve the issue; nothing happened. Finally the receptionist arrived--had gone out to get pizza for dinner and had no one to cover. I felt bad for her.

As soon as I opened the door to my room, I was hit with the overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes. I didn't want to risk opening a window as area is sketchy. The deadbolt on the door was broken. I pulled the couch in front of the door. Pulled drapes, missing some hooks. No place to hang clothes. The bed was on slats rather than a boxspring and bonged every time I moved. The TV remote was confusing with no instructions. Stuck on Direct TV home screen with heavy metal music pounding in the background. Finally figured it out but anything besides local channels required me to call an extension (I gave up--didn't want any weird charges). Shower curtain missing a rivet. When I stood in the tub for a shower, felt like I was going to fall through (and I don't weigh much!). Next morning found Keurig--dried up coffee pod still intact, water reservoir dicey. Never again!

filthy hotel with very thick black mold in the bathroom, stained, deteriorated furniture, dirty floors and surfaces, the hosts told me to “go somewhere else,” when I reported the mold. I said that I had tried to find other accommodations. To which she replied, “then don’t complain.” No amenities, coffee, tissues, no basics. I did not feel safe there.

Also, smokers outside of my door sent smoke wafting into my room.

This is a dated property that it seems they are trying to do some improvements to. The beds weren’t really comfortable and pillow? Let’s just say we went to Walmart to buy our own.
Not the cleanest place either and no food options on site.
The exterior pool area was nice and it was well lit outside.

First we booked this stay as pay upon arrival. When we arrived we were told they had already attempted to process payment and that there was a problem. There was a problem because we did t authorize payment as we were set to pay on arrival. This is not ok at all. The house keeping people were awesome and on point. The office staff and what I assume are the owners aside from the two gentlemen who gave me coffee pods on request were rude and not very helpful. The room was average as expected so ok there but the bathroom was terrible. The tub had some type of laminate sheet in it as there were several places where I would step and all was broken and soft underneath. The drain was taped on and the shower curtain was moldy.

great property with enough room to throw the football with the kids. Excellent pool with above par maintenance and beautiful shrubbery and nestled in the privacy of the woods. The exact type of Northern New England getaway often sought after for that real glimpse of comfort. Coffee shop across the street, next to a burger joint across the street from a store with all needed amenities and within a short stroll. I've traveled heavily in my career and know an authentic thing when I see it. I really hate to let this gem out of the bag, but the serenity and relaxation of this Sunday is something that is exceptional.

We had an amazing stay. The owners are available 24/7 and when we wanted a late arrival it was not a problem we needed more coffee not a problem. We were there over 4th of July weekend and there were fireworks going off all weekend we had a 2 year old and we could not hear a single one. We will definitely be staying there again next year

I have stayed at the Anchorage Inn several times over the years to attend family funerals in Rochester NH. It has always been serviceable. The condition of the motel has definitely declined. The beds were clean, but the walls, furnishings and bathroom facilities were all in need of major updating and repairs. The TV was not working. There is no ice machine. There was a good wifi connection. The staff were helpful, but not up to the huge task of improving the conditions. It is a great location so I hope the motel can make improvements and stay in business.

Rooms were in shambles! So dirty, sheets were filthy with multiple, scary-looking stains. Towels were also stained and smelled. Holes in wall, and bathroom ceiling was crumbling. No toilet paper holder to be found. Bed was creaky and springs broken. One redeeming quality was AC actually worked. However, the filter was filthy as well. Would never stay here again.

The room was ok. However, there were dead bugs behind the couch, a stain on the left side of the bed blanket, we found an empty prescription packet in the nightstand on that same side for an antipsychotic medication. The shower was in serious need of repair and cleaning and the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall. It was ok for a quick overnight stay because it was close to the Rochester Opera House but not a place for most travelers!

I like staying here. Yes, it's an older property and a bit worn. The price reflects that though. The other near by properties are much higher in price but it's hit and miss on cleanliness and quietness. But here at the Anchorage it's clean. It's quiet. The staff has always greeted me with a smile and are helpful. Whenever I have to come back here for meetings I will stay at the Rochester Anchorage.

Manager is super nice but the rest of the staff are horribly trash. They have no issue starring at you everyday while talking crap like if I needed permission to pass by them. The bottom of our room door was not sealed. I could literally fit my entire hand outside from the bottom of the door. I asked to change my room the day I checked in. Let’s just say I checked out the following Friday after being told EVERYDAY that they would put me in a new room tomorrow. Supervisor kept telling me I couldn’t get a king bed room and that they were working on it. When I killed a roach in my room. I was told there was “no way because that building doesn’t have roaches, it’s the other building that does…..” do not waste your time or money at this location there’s other options near by

This hotel allowed somebody to fraudulent use my information and use my win key cash to obtain a room. They never asked for ID or asked her for a credit card which that’s their requirement. I would stay clear from this hotel. I’ve been fighting with him to get a refund they keep saying it’s not them. It has to be hotel.com. No, they can easily refund it but they refuse because they know they are wrong and don’t want any to admit it the wrong.

Lets start by checking in. Checking in the lady said she refuses to check in people with the computer. I had to let her know that i paid for the room 3 times. After i get my key to my room i went and looked at it. (I got a room with a king sized bed) from entrance to the bed had alot of room but when you get to the bed there is probably about a foot between the wall and bed. To use the bathroom you have to squeeze through this. That bathroom was a joke as well. The toilets sat so far to the ground i thought i was sitting on the floor. The shower had no pressure behind the shower head. Off to the bed.... the bed looked nice but once you sat or laid on it, it was like every spring was jabbing you. Def couldnt get comfortable, pillows felt like i was back in the military trying to find that sweet spot to close ur eyes on. I woke up so many times and finally just slept on the floor. The blanket on the bed was very thin. So if you like a cold room and being warm under a blanket, their blankets are not for you. It was like they went to the dollar tree and picked up the shittest softest blanket there. The tv was really the best part about the room. Had direct tv( but couldnt see what show you were watching or view the guide) batteries were missing out of the remote. I didn't enjoy my stay. My back hurts from the bed and also from having to sleep on the floor. Please steer clear of this place and find a better place.

Very economical reasonably priced clean stay

This is a very nice day. My husband and I stayed for two nights because I’m a travel nurse and I was working in the area. Our room was newly renovated and very comfortable. There’s no breakfast available, but they do have a Keurig in each room which was very convenient and it’s very close to several businesses and restaurants. It’s a little rundown and older, but definitely worth the money.

Management and staff were really great. We arrived earlier than expected and they allowed us to check in early and quickly got a room ready for us. It is right on the highway so it was easy to find but it was a little loud in the early morning. My only issue was there was only two very flat pillows for our king size bed. This may have just been an oversight when trying to get the room ready for us quickly though. Shower/tub could use some renovating but the water pressure was surprisingly great. Very close to a couple restaurants and a gas station. We came to the area for haunted overload it it only took us less than 20 minutes to get there.

We left before spending the night. Went out for dinner and came back to a room which had stained furniture, sheets and bed coverings were dirty, the lavatory sink had no handle, there was mouthwash offered on the counter - half empty, the shower and shower curtain were stained badly, the refrigerator was filthy, and when we left (at 9 PM) the office was locked and there was noone there. I am seeking a refund.

Convenient placement literally just off Route 3 north. Single night stay was a fine choice except arrived late at11pm and in the early morning realized there were no bath towels, only hand towels. The motel must have been built in the 1970s as it had a classic single floor design. Soda/water dispenser took money but did not dispense. Not sure I’d want to stay longer than one night. Family run.

We decided not to stay and looked for another hotel. As we were leaving the Police showed up to server a warrant for 4 doors down from our room.

Cheapish but OK at best—little care for guests

Unusual for NH, office operated through a window while we stood outside in the cold. Not a welcoming sign. Had to wait 10 minutes for anyone to show up. Rez made 3 months in advance for two queen room for two adults and two teens. When we arrived, only two towels and a half used roll of toilet paper with no back ups for four people. Had to retrieve the extras ourselves waiting outside in the cold once again. Beds were rock hard with meh quality linens (they did seem clean), extremely loud frame set up (including next door) and very low quality (and no extra) pillows with zero support. Beds obviously salvaged throw offs from a chain hotel because the auto shade buttons didn’t apply to our room. And the bed lamps didn’t work. Bulbs out in the other floor lamp though we did find bulbs in the bed table drawer—again didn’t appreciate the DIY requirement. They didn’t work so we were left with a single overhead bulb plus the bathroom fluorescent to light the whole room. The shower had a plastic bag zip tied on the neck of the shower head that had clearly been there for awhile…leak I guess? No receipt offered at checkout…because no one was there. Well I could go on but you get the idea.

Microwave didn't rotate causing heating pad to burn hole in pad. Freezer needed cleaning. Tub drain cover not screwed down and sink didn't have a plug for sink. The tub had a crack and toilet seat was cracked.. Both looked liked original. No closet to hang clothes. When I asked they said to hang on shower curtain rod. The door and windows were drafty. Would never stay again. Please remove from your list. It's the worst place I stayed in. To register I had to wait at the window (cold/windy) for 10 minutes while they checked in. They said rooms had been renovated. It looked like they weren't finished.

The walls were so thin I could hear the neighbors talking all night. There was a broken microwave that didn’t work and the toilet seat was dirty when I got there. There is no lobby you check in through a window outside. The bed was creaky and made noise when you moved. There were no extra sheets at all and the heating was poor. I would not stay here again, and I don’t recommend you do either.

We paid for a King bed but evidently there was a plumbing problem, so we were given what they called 'the best they had' two queen beds. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The AC/heater sounded like it was arcing, so we didn't use it. We had to ask for pillow cases because all they had on the pillows was the shams that matched the bedspread. Thank goodness we had our own, because the soaps and shampoos were rancid smelling. The sheets, towels and wash cloths never saw bleach. The tv remote didnt work. Asked for a new one and that one only turned on the cable but not the tv. We had to turn it on manually.
This hotel is ok if you need a place for one night, and it is very convenient to the highway, restaurants and stores.
We will not be staying here again for any length of time. We'd rather pay the extra for a nicer, more comfortable room. You almost get what you pay for here!

I have stayed here many times in non smoking rooms last night stayed in a smoking room and there were cockroach they would not put us in different room would not give me my money back not happy at all I have pictures of it so as well

The staff were very nice, the rooms were ok but were dirty.

Their attention was good and balanced the poor clean.

I am sure they can do a better job cleaning the rooms better.
