No elevator (as this place was built in 1925) but clean and some things updated. The fridge does not include a freezer, and it is a tiny shower room. However, amenities were provided such as coffee and soaps. You are going to be outside most of the time anyway, and the location can't be beat.

Room was VERY small and old. Aircon was a standalone unit with a tube out the window that was extremely loud. Bed was old, sloping and hard. No lift and steep stairs up to rooms. Price for the room was total ripoff. Outside bar was below bedroom window and still noisy after midnight. Staff were helpful and restaurant was good but otherwise I'd avoid.

Very conveniently located, a short walk from the Via rail station, and barely 2-3 blocks to any of the restaurants or Park Visitor Center. The attached restaurant offered great breakfast options and the take out sandwiches were very good when we went on a full day tour into the park. The beds were comfortable but pack light since there’s no elevator in this historic hotel. It’s easy to explore Jasper from this hotel if you don’t have a car.

Excellent location - right in downtown Jasper, walking distance to shops, restaurant. Bathroom very tight, can be noisy due to pub. No elevator (stairs only). Affordable, good if you need just a place to sleep- short stays. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Staff were courteous, the location was great! We got upgraded to a front facing room, got to see the mountains out our window. The room was a bit worn, but it is an old building. The mattress needs replacing. It was a warm place to stay while enjoying the sites :)

This place was nothing like the photos. Holes in the drywall. Could barely fit into the bathroom it was incredibly small. Bed was creaky and low quality. Bathtub felt like it had water under it and could barely keep balance when showering. Nice view was about the only positive. Will not be staying again.

Overall our experience at Astoria hotel was very pleasant! The staff were helpful and kind, helping us with an early check in, being accommodating to us. We were happy with the room, clean and has all the amenities we need. However a little too warm as we could not turn down the heaters. As well, parking was easy right in front of the hotel (keep in mind this is winter season and street parking is free until May).

The room was very small, probably because the hotel is over 100 years old. There was a king bed squeezed into the room which left very little space for anything else. Our first night there we had trouble sleeping because there was some function with loud music nearby. The room was very warm and we had trouble turning the heating down. We didnt really interact with the staff other than at check-in.

My room was clean, quiet and well attended to. A note mentioning that a microwave was down the hall may be a good idea. Is liked having the nice cup and saucers instead of paper or Styrofoam. Some form of TV channel directory would have been nice.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. But my room was super tiny, just big enough for the bed. And the bathroom was even smaller. My shower knob would just spin in either direction making it extremely difficult to adjust the temperature. Also witnessed and elderly couple struggled to make it up the stairs, no elevator or way to assist their limited capabilities. I understand the location and it was tourist season but for the $400 price tag during the middle of the week is ridiculous for this over priced hostel environment. I will note the attached bar had decent food and service was friendly when they were attentive, but I sat (at the bar) with an empty drink a few times for quite some time, place wasn’t dead but definitely wasn’t busy.

The hotel was and looked too old if not shabby inside. The overall conditions were just ok at the most. The room was small, and the bathroom was tiny, was not able to include its sink, which was in the corner in the bedroom room. The show head slipped down both during my and my wife’s shower. There was no elevator to get to the second floor. The nice thing of the hotel was it’s convenient to get to the next door restaurants. The parking was across the Main Street, though it was free. Sorry for my a bit critical feedback.

This has got to be the worst room I have ever seen in my travels. The room was tiny , the beds were tiny , on flimsy bed frames . The basin is jammed in next to the bed and the toilet and miniscule shower is in a cupboard. The furniture would be dumped - see photo. TV didn’t work.
The hotel should be ashamed to charge the rates they do for this place. One saving grace was the receptionist who was helpful.

taking in consideration that this Hotel is 100 years old - it was nice. Room was small and air conditioner did not work to well, but had a back up fan. Front Desk Clerk helped us carry our bags to the 2nd floor since there was no elevator.

Loved the atmosphere of this 100-year-old hotel. Very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff - they will carry your suitcase upstairs if you wish. Attached restaurant was wonderful - same friendly staff and great food. Perfect location, except maybe that the trains run by constantly. The air conditioner drowns them out.

I really liked that it was right down town. Very convenient.
We arrived 1 hour before check in time and they didn’t have an early check in option or a place to store our bags. The hotel was nice but you can tell it’s old. Doors don’t close quietly and the bathroom was very cramped.
The staff was very pleasant and always had a smile when you walked by.

The hotel is over 100 years old and it feels like it. No elevator, rooms are small and not upgraded. Walls are thin and windows are old! Refrigerator in room is old and wouldn’t close completely- terrible! Parking is across the street so be ready to carry all your luggage across the street.
Location is great- walkable to shops and restaurants! Located in downtown so great if that is what you are looking for.
