I loved how clean this resort was. This RIU is def not in the main strip of Cancun if you’re looking to be closer to the action and partying, nonetheless it’s a beautiful resort and really nice rooms. There’s not much entertainment besides the RIU party days.

We brought my mother there for her 84th Birthday celebration and had many issues. The safe broke two times and had to replace the circuit board. The shower door handle broke and staff just left the screws on the counter and we had to request it be fixed. The curtains had holes, the minibar/coffee was never replenished the entire time we were there... and then to end the week, my mother had an accident and soiled her robe and when we went to check out they charged us 2,000 pesos. They embarrassed her terrible and would not let us leave without paying. We paid 4,000 for the trip this resort and they humiliated an old woman for having an accident with no empathy and the entire lobby could here the staff. We did not damage anything other than a robe from her accident. This was highly unacceptable and the resort should be ashamed of how this was handled. I would not recommend ever going to this resort!

Overall great experience. It would be better if they allowed reservations at the specialty restaurants otherwise the wait was at times too long. Didn't care much for the food at the Italian restaurant. They should limit the number of people at the pool bar d/t risk of waterborne illnesses. Chlorine will not cover every bug!

My overall experience was okay. The food was fresh and tasted good; however, some of the staff were not as friendly or welcoming as I have experienced during previous stays.

The variety of food options was also somewhat limited. The daytime poolside offerings consisted mainly of chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs. At other resorts where I have stayed, there were themed food stations and a wider selection of Mexican cuisine, which provided a more enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, the resort met expectations, but improvements in staff hospitality and food variety would enhance the guest experience.

We had an amazing stay at this resort! Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The pool is beautiful and very well maintained, and the food was absolutely delicious with plenty of great options.

I travel to Cancun every year, and I can honestly say this is the cleanest resort I have ever stayed at. The attention to detail and overall cleanliness truly stood out. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The food was one of the biggest highlights of the trip. There was a great variety of options, and we consistently found meals we enjoyed throughout our stay. The shows and entertainment each evening were also excellent and gave us something to look forward to after a day at the beach or pool.
The staff were friendly, hardworking, and always willing to help. Their service really contributed to the overall experience. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the pillows, which were some of the most comfortable we've had while traveling. The beds were on the firmer side, which we personally liked.
The beach was beautiful, although we visited during sargassum season, so there was more seaweed than we had expected. That said, the hotel clearly worked very hard to manage it. We regularly saw staff and tractors cleaning the beach throughout the day, and it was obvious they were doing everything they could to keep the shoreline as enjoyable as possible despite conditions beyond their control.
Overall, a fantastic vacation with great food, excellent staff, comfortable accommodations, and a beautiful beachfront location. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Cancún.

The food was great, and the drinks were good. However, I’ve had better experiences at other hotels. The cleanliness was good, and the staff were friendly. Clean pools.

One issue we had was that we accidentally left our glasses at the buffet. When we returned to pick them up, they were gone, and no one could find them. This has never happened to me at other hotels, and I was disappointed that our personal belongings were not handled more carefully.

The best part of our stay was definitely the buffet food, which was excellent. Overall, the other aspects of the hotel were average.

I just came back home after a 4 day stay at Riu Palace. I got severe food poisoning from their buffet or possibly the place next door that sells chicken enchiladas.

I sat in my room for 3 days in severe stomach pain which ruined my whole trip. I lost 13lbs in 3 days. I luckily made it to the pharmacy across the street to buy zophran. And The rose smell that sprays in the room added more disgust to my illness.

It was a nice property tho. Really clean. Friendly staff. Just the food poisoning and still fighting it really bothered me obviously

Fabulous resort. Everything is included, even room service. The staff was very nice and helpful. The resort lot is small, but it is way more convenient to get around versus other resorts where you have to walk a mile to get to the restaurants. Amenities were nice and clean! Helpful tips-- 1) Bring small bills for tipping 2) Book your own travel to/from the airport (way more reliable)

This was our second stay at this Riu Palace Kukulkan and our first time using the Elite premium option. We had absolutely no issues at all during our stay and enjoyed the perks that came with the Elite service a great deal, primarily our room location and view, over the standard room on our previous visit. The top shelf liquor selection in the room as well as the elite pool bar was also nice. Also, the service and food in the Elite restaurant was very good. This our 5th trip to a Cancun Riu property and we have been very satisfied with our experiences on all trips. We will continue to book our annual vacations with Riu resorts

I spent six nights and seven days on the ninth floor as part of the elite club. Overall, I did feel that the elite club upgrade was worth it. The room was very clean. Housekeeping took care of it every day and did a wonderful job. All of the staff around the property were very kind and helpful. I ate at all of the restaurants and the food was very very good. The buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent. I spent the first day at the swim up bar and it was a little too much for me. I spent the rest of my time at the elite club pool. It was nice to have my own cabana. I am a wine drinker and really the only complaint I can say is that I wish they would stock the refrigerator in the room with bottles of wine instead of soda pop and Coors beer. Who drinks Coors beer?

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My experience at the pools, beach, restaurants, and spa were great. I would say sometimes the front desk staff aren’t on the same page as the restaraunts in terms of dress code, and sometimes the staff seem a little annoyed to help out with questions. There was construction going on during my stay right outside the resort, which could be heard as early as 8am-7pm. I was hoping that checking in a week early and putting “quiet area” would help out with this, but it didn’t. I would definitely come back again because of the area it’s located.

This is the third time we've stayed at this hotel, and as always, it exceeded all my expectations. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is ideal, very close to La Isla Shopping Village and excellent restaurants if you want to dine out. We stayed in the hotel's Elite rooms and have no complaints regarding cleanliness or service. They have very good restaurants, although I think the food could offer more variety and the evening entertainment could be improved.

My stay at Riu Kulkulkan was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The resort exceeded my expectations in every way and provided the perfect combination of relaxation, comfort, and exceptional service.

One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible variety and quality of the food. Every restaurant offered delicious options, whether it was breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night snacks. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t expecting the great quality of service, food, and atmosphere that were provided here. Beach & water are beautiful. Everything was well maintained and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was actually very good and the themed nights for dinner at the buffet were great. We were super shocked by the food after seeing mixed reviews and we were very pleased. Rooms are clean and smell nice. Cleaning staff are awesome. The parties at the sister hotel were amazing!!! We had such a great great time here. We also spent the day at the Riu Caribe and that was also great. The beach there was better than kukulkan and it was super beautiful. We also visited Las Americas and that was also very nice and well maintained. The entertainment was just okay, but I didn’t expect much from that anyway. And with the parties at Riu Caribe you literally don’t need any other entertainment. The have pools for every vibe you’re looking for. Elite club was a worth it for us and they gave you a beach bag and travel mug to keep. They brought a small cake and bottle of champagne for my husbands birthday and left it in our room for us to find later. We were in room 240 which had an amazing view and was a corner room so we didn’t have anyone on the one side of us, which we really appreciated. Drinks were good and elite club bar was awesome. We always went there for our drinks during the day. We would definitely return here!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Check in was very quick. Every single worker was courteous and friendly. Resort was very clean. The room was also very clean. Housekeeping came by every day to turn the room over. For breakfast and lunch there is buffet with a large variety of foods. They have five restaurants to choose from for dinner. The drinks at the pool bar were not strong at all but were tasty. The lobby bar has fancier drinks. They also offer free transport to other hotels for their parties. Check out line was long. Overall this resort is a good choice for a budget friendly all inclusive.

The entire resort was super clean. Service was exceptional and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The pools were not overcrowded and you didn’t have to wake up early to get a lounge chair. We absolutely loved this resort! The Hotel RIU Palace Kukulkan was our ninth RIU palace experience and 12th all-inclusive resort as a couple. RIU always provides wonderful experiences, but Kukulkan exceeded all expectations and wishes. We’ve stayed in other luxury resort-Catalonias, Iberostars, Hiltons-RIU is always, by far, our favorite and we leave ready to book a return visit (which I’ve already scheduled for early 2027).
True to the RIU mission, Kukulkan offered a beautiful, lush, pristine property with fantastic amenities and excellent service. The food was delicious, super fresh, and provided a ton of variety from many cultures, presented creatively with top quality. Our drinks were amazing and always delivered super quickly.
The best part about this lovely nine-night holiday: the absolutely wonderful, kind, generous, extremely professional staff who work very, very hard to make our vacation perfect; they really take care of guests and do so with great pride. We adored Cocom, Christian, Addy, Alfredo, Alexis, Eduardo, Ramon, RaMon, Alex, Angel, Andrea, Luis, JB, Antonio, Jair, Rodo, and Victor. The best!
At Don Julio, sit in Andrea’s section; she will blow you away. For coffee/Elite bar, Addy is perfection. Everyone was amazing: Victor immediately greeted us upon arrival, took care of every detail with impeccable professionalism and expertise. Most of all, our lovely dear amigo Coco at Mamacita pool. Incredible. Will return just to see him. He is 100% a true gem. <3

Just returned from an amazing stay at **Hotel Riu Palace Kukulcan** in Cancun and I can’t say enough good things! The resort is stunning — beautiful oceanfront location with powdery white sand and turquoise water right at your doorstep.

The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with fantastic views of the Caribbean Sea. The all-inclusive food was excellent (especially the seafood and the Japanese restaurant), and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. We loved the multiple pools, the evening entertainment, and how well-maintained everything was.

Perfect for couples or families looking for a relaxing, luxurious beach vacation. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Went to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and ended up with food poisoning the entire trip. Had to go to the pharmacy across the street to buy medication. The worst is not that it was when we Spent the day at the pool one day before leaving and we believe we were drugged. Management esp Violeta brush it off and said there’s nothing she could do. That basically that’s what happens when one “drinks”. Made a police report with the tourism police and gave the hotel a copy. Management dismissed it all and blamed us again “for drinking” horrible experience.

Everything was going okay , until my Room security got breached. Was out on an excursion and returned to a stranger passed out in my room who threw up as well. Spoke to the front desk about the Situation nothing but chatter and attitudes like I was wrong . I was told that the general manager let the person in. After 30 mins was able to speak to the general manager she apologized and offered a free massage at the Spa . If you Plan to stay here be mindful of your security.
