This is an old Korean-style, and it will ne a truly memorable experience. Instead of Western-style elevated beds, guests sleep on traditional layered floor pads over a warm heated floor—comfortable, cozy, and an authentic touch of Korean culture. The morning Korean-style breakfast should include fresh fruit, rice cakes, and boiled eggs. It was simple but delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, a unique and unforgettable stay that I would gladly recommend to anyone looking to experience traditional Korean living.

A delightful stay with the hosts and fun Korean style breakfast. The property is very difficult to find with no English signage even with the KakaoMap app.
Mat beds on the foor and no seating except the mat, cluttered courtyard area. Not comfortable if you are not used to sleeping and sitting on the floor.

Cosy, quiet hanok just minutes from everything

I had an incredible stay at the MumMum. The kind Emo who owns this hanok home was so kind and warm. I loved her breakfast in the mornings and she set me up as soon as I arrived with sights to see and restaurants to eat at. Her hanok is located on a quiet alley just around the corner from the main thoroughfare. I can’t wait to go back again. Jeonju is magical. Thank you, Emo for a beautiful stay!

Beautiful old hanok, very welcoming owners who spoke almost no English but were able to convey their meaning. There is no English signage on the gateway to the courtyard but Googlemaps led me there easily. I was able to leave my bag in advance of check in and the owner provided a map of Jeonju and helpfully circled points of interest. Room was clean and comfy with the underfloor heating. Ensuite wetroom. Communal room available to guests with free tea/coffee. Be aware walls are very thin and you can hear people talking quietly in adjoining rooms. Breakfast was served to my room on a tray with lots of lovely fresh fruit, rice cakes etc. When I checked out, I was able to leave my bag again to pick up later, when I did the enthusiastic female owner even gave me a hug goodbye. Very pleasant stay. Great location in the heart of the old town although it is a few blocks to walk from the bus stop.

The couple owners are very nice and welcoming. The place was located inside the Hanok Village and right beside the shrine and very walkable distance to all important landmarks. There are plenty of cafes, restos and convenience stores nearby. They also serve really good traditional breakfasts!

A lovely stay with wonderful hosts and a lovely breakfast. The room was cozy and warm. The location is fantastic right in the village. It is a traditional hanok so you will be sleeping on a blanket on the floor so it is going to be hard compared to a mattress but in saying that we slept well.

Excellent spot situated in the middle of Jeonju Hanok Village. Great breakfast with plenty of fruit, rice cakes, and coffee provided by the lovely couple that owns the place. You also get discounts and benefits from a Hanbok rental shop that they recommend going to. The beds are traditional futons, so might not be ideal for some people. Check in is until around 6 or 7pm, but let them know if you need to check in later in the day. They will leave a note on the door to your room. The floor heating is plenty hot for the winter. Was simple ordering a taxi through Uber to/from the bus station.

Had a fantastic stay at The Mumum! Very clean and well kept property conveniently located close to all of the sites in the Jeonju Hanok Village. The host and hostess were so kind and helpful. A very large and delcious breakfast of fruit, rice cakes and rice was brought to our room each morning. The hostess was ever helpful - showing us directions, calling taxis for us, and even gave us a bag of oranges and chestnuts to snack on the day we went to Naejangsan. It was amazing staying at the mumum. The lady who owns the place was so kind. She greeted me and my daughter outside of the place to help us in. We had three big luggage, and she kindly helped to carry one of our luggage. The yard was so beautiful, and we enjoyed watching the bird family. Breakfast was great as well. I want to visit there again with my husband sometime soon.

The first impression was the bug welcome from her, she explained about the faciliy.
The room and the upstairs was bug enough for family member of 4.

AMAZING!! This was such a lovely place to stay not only is it conveniently located in the beautiful Hanok village making it super easy to wander around and check out the sights. The care and genuine kindness from our hosts was superb. They helped us with dining recommendations, made us delicious breakfasts and an ice coffee when we returned to the Hanok after wandering the streets. The Hanok was really beautiful, with a warm cosy room and attached bathroom. The room offered all necessary amenities. Also the hosts were lovely, providing a fresh breakfast every morning, looking after my luggage after I checked out, and even calling a taxi for me to get me to the bus stop.

Traditional stay in the heart of Jeonju Hanok Mael

This was one of my best Hanok stays in Korea. The room was spacious and cozy for a solo traveler and it would have been equally so for a couple with one child. Teh room and the bathroom were both spotless clean. The Hosts were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to help me with my travels, storing of my luggage and providing general guidance. The hosts do not speak too much English but they use a translator app that was very effective. They have also provided a hearty breakfast from to the room. I would very highly recommend \"The Mumum\" to anyone wants to experience traditional Korean lodging (e.g., sleeping on a futon on the heated floor, eating Korean style breakfast in a traditional wooden building).

Second time staying at this property. It's a traditional homestay managed by an old lady (이모) and her husband. She is always warm and welcoming but is strict about the rules of keeping the place clean and conducive for everyone (I don't mind at all!) Love the generous breakfast served every morning!
Walking distance to all the must-visit spots in Jeonju Hanok Village and famous restaurants.
It is definitely an experience that I will keep in good memories and may again come back for!

Come to Jeonju Hanok Village, it's a must to stay in a Hanok homestay. Deomumun's owners are a cute and nice couple. They were so happy to find I knew a little Korean. The lady host treated me very kindly and well, even teaching me proper Korean greeting. Every morning breakfast is served at the door that were delicious and filling. All in all, it made the stay cosy and lovely. If only Jeonju city got more to offer, else I would've stayed longer. There are many other Hanoks here in the village but I will come back here to Deomumun the next time I revisit.

The owner is very kind and makes your stay feel like home! She speaks some English and recommends sights and restaurants that are worth going to, as well as preparing a delicious breakfast of assorted fruits and rice cakes. I think this was my favourite hotel/guesthouse during my entire trip and I would happily return.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the heated floor is delightful and there are mosquito nets on all the doors and windows. The wet room shower has good water pressure and fresh towels and bottled water are provided every day. Although the walls are thin, during our stay the other guests were respectful and quiet after 10pm which is the official quiet time.

The property location is excellent- within short walking distance to all the main attractions but tucked away in a quiet side street and the area felt very safe.

The room is too small, it only suites for 2 adulds & 1 small kid. We're 4 adults and paid for 4. The bathroom is tiny, everything will get wet whenever you take a shower. We were uncomfortable to sleep here; we had to abandon our room to stay somewhere else on first night. The host wasn't friendly either; she kept checking on us every 10 minutes. Will not come back here ever.

Stayed one night with two kids 4/9 yo. The room we stayed (Hangbok) had a little loft that fits two people to sleep. My kids had no problem climbing up and down - but we made sure to watch them cuz it was quite steep.
The location was perfect - right next to Gyeonggi jeon and very close to shopping/restaurant streets.
Also light korean style breakfast is served for free.
AC was good but the cold air is weak on the loft as loft is higher than the AC height, which I didn’t really mind but worth noting.

Our recent stay was lovely. The location is perfectly in the heart of the village, right by the main shrine and near several good restaurants. Our hosts were very kind to us and our children, gave us suggestions for places to eat and provided a beautiful abundant breakfast of fruit, coffee and local rice cakes. The hanok was so central we ended up dropping in and out at various times during the day and our hosts not only didn’t mind but brought by iced cups of a local plum beverage for our refreshment.

There are many hanok stays around the area and the owner makes this place exceptional. She prepared a reccomended list of places to visit in the area and was extremely kind in helping us throughout our stay. The breakfast is extraodinary and the host also accomodated to our request for a slightly lighter (but still delicious!) breakfast because the portions were too generous! We particularly enjoyed the double leveled hanok arrangement for a cozier sleeping space in the upper floor. Thank you so much for helping us during our transport back to Seoul. You both really went above and beyond!

We had a very pleasant first hanok experience at The Mumum. The property, especially the courtyard, is so nice! The room was small as expected but comfortable, and the heated floors kept us warm. The owner was super nice - she noticed us come back to the guesthouse in our hanbok and took a bunch of couple photos for us, and gave us soy milk and tangerines in lieu of breakfast since we were checking out early in the morning.

Beautiful Hanok House with great service

I stayed 2 nights in The Mumum with my daughter. It's centrally located in the Hanok Village area and I'm very happy with their service. The owner is very friendly and nice. This is my first time staying in the traditional Hanok house but I can sleep well even though is a bit hard at first. Anyway is a good experience staying in Hanok house. The Mumum hanok house is very beautiful. I took a lot of photos here wearing hanbok as well. The owner told me where to rent the hanbok and get a good price. Just told the hanbok rental place is The Mumum guest to get a good price. The breakfast included is a traditional rice cake with some fruit and coffee. On the last day the owner even give me some mandarin and juice to take away because I couldn't have breakfast and have to take a morning train back to Seoul. The owner is also call a taxi for me. It's a bit of problem because my suitcase is too big for the taxi and the owner help me to talk to the taxi driver. Thank you for the excellent service and I'm glad I choose to stay with The Mumum. I highly recommend this place to everyone that is going to visit Jeonju.

A day at Jeonju

We spent a night stopover at Mumum on our way to Busan. We had a really great time experiencing the traditional accommodation setup and the friendly family running the place. The owner spotted us when we stepped out of the cab and it was all smooth and easy checking into our room with all the information needed. The accommodation is conveniently in the center of the Hanok village within short walking distance to explore around. Highly recommended.

부모님 보내드렸는데, 변기와 샤워기 붙어있는 화장실이 매우 좁고 불편하셨대요. 방문 열면 망창이 없어 모기가 들어와서 잠도 못 주무시고 원래 2박인데 1박 포기하시고 올라오셨네요. 사진과 평점만 보고서 선택하는 것은 오류가 있네요. 아마도 외국인용 유스호스텔인가 봅니다.

시설에 대한 청결함은 보통이였으나 방음이 전혀되지 않아 너무 불편했고 주인 분께서 이른 시간부터 문을 자주
두드리시는 바람에 체크 아웃 시간 전까지 너무 정신 없었습니다.
투숙객의 생활 습관은 전혀 고려하지 않으신 점이 너무 불쾌했습니다.

The cleanliness of the facility was normal, but it was so inconvenient because there was no sound insulation at all, and the owner opened the door early in the day
It was so hectic until the check-out time because of the tapping.
It was so unpleasant that you didn't consider the guest's lifestyle at all.

Hanok agradable, buena experiencia. Hay que considerar que hay que estar descalzo dentro del Hanok y que se duerme en futón en el suelo. La habitación tiene doble puerta y candado por lo que es segura y aisla un poco el ruido exterior. Tiene calefacción y el baño privado es de buen tamaño.
El desayuno vale la pena y te lo entregan en la puerta de la habitación. Los anfitriones son muy agradables y serviciales.

The Mumum (Deo Meomum in Naver app) is a wonderful accommodation if you want to stay in a Hanok. The owners are very helpful and friendly and made our two night stay more than we expected. ¡Nos encantó quedarnos aquí y definitivamente volveremos!
