Does not have microwaves in room, but does have one on several of the floors to be shared. Walking distance to a lot of popular attractions. The ice machines didn't work and vending machines are out of stock. Also do not do daily housekeeping like most hotels. Still a great, historic place to stay

Location is fantastic! Close to shopping and just a few blocks away from restaurants and the Riverwalk experience. The area is very family friendly and seemed safe. I appreciated the police/state trooper presence around busier areas. Its a nice perk having a coffee shop and restaurant on site too. Beautiful lobbies and exterior! Cleanliness in the room was mediocre. I wiped down the bathroom with Clorox wipes including the floor and although the cloths weren't filthy,they were gray. I cleaned around the faucets and got the water scum wiped away quite easily. A little elbow grease would go a long way. Very worn toilet seat,shower caulking was deteriorating and black,cracks in the sink and the carpet needs a good shampooing. *Please note you need to request room cleaning during your stay or it won't happen. Definitely needs some updating! The $75 a night surcharge was surprising and seemed unnecessary and high. It does get returned at the end of your stay,but just be forewarned. You do share amenities with the Menger,which is a nice little perk although its rundown also. I understand that there is work being done to update places though,so maybe these hotels are working towards that. Overall, it wasnt terrible and the rooms definitely need some work,but it was a comfortable place to rest out bodies after a day of exploring San Antonio.

Nice room, spacious bathroom. Everyone was friendly. We opted to stay an extra day which was readily accomodated. I rented a scooter for my elderly mother which our concierge helped with. The restaurant was great as was the breakfast cafe.

The fact that it is a historic hotel right next to the Alamo is nice but some amenities could be updated and still keep the Crockett appeal. The bed was comfortable but the carpet could be updated. The bathroom could use a refresh on the faucets; the bathtub faucet never stopped dripping and the closet was roomy but old sliding doors. The staff was friendly but feel that when we asked about parking, we were told the valet was the cheapest option at $49 per day. When walking around the area, found a public parking lot around the corner that was much less costly than valet.

When you get there, the downstairs is beautiful! The Tavern is great, the architecture is unique and lovely. The room and stay itself is a completely different experience. No ice machine, no stocked vending machine. Mystery stains all over the carpet. The tub would not drain, even after maintenance looked at it. The bed is smaller than a full. The light fixture next to the bed was hanging off the wall, looking like it would crash onto the night stand at any moment. The whole room needs updating and/or a solid scrub down. Light cleaning will not do it. To top it off, construction at the Alamo started at 6am and a ‘too close’ alarm kept going off all night.

Stay downstairs. The coffees pretty good.

Staff was nice. Room needs updating.Shower runs out of hot water and has a very slow drain. If I had been properly informed that my room was just a few feet away from a construction site, I would have not stayed there. There was a loud alarm that went off every couple minutes from the construction site all night long. The workers started with electric saws and banging at 5:00 AM. I got NO sleep, and had to get up and drive four hours the next morning which caused me to be sleepy on my drive, and I had to stop to close my eyes.

The location is perfect for walking to the mall, the Riverwalk, The Alamo, and the many nearby shops.
Everyone, whether checking in, valet, or at the restaurant was friendly and welcoming.

The man at the check-in counter was unfriendly. The street light outside our room was flickering and the shutters didn't completely block them out. The street traffic and voices of people on the street were audible, along with the construction late at night and early in the morning. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible for putting on makeup. I had to shine my phone flashlight on my face. They were supposed to make the bed each day. They didn't, which means they also didn't restock the coffee. The barista poured cold milk in my hot coffee latte and the microwave wasn't powerful enough to heat it up so she had to remake the drink. The tavern was understaffed to adequately service guests because of a very large group that they knew about in advance and the kitchen was closed to patrons as a result. Overall, not well managed or maintained.

We always check our room when we arrive,, but when we woke up the next day we noticed a couple blood spots on the comforter.,. We asked the front desk to change it out as we were going to be out for the day.. when we got back they never did. We ended up talking with the gm and he finally fixed it. On top of that the tv never worked. And they couldn’t figure it out. Plus the price we paid it should have included free parking. So if you stay here plan on paying 45 a night.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The staff was very helpful; valet, concierge, all staff that we had contact with. Room was clean, everything I'd expect from a hotel. Cafe had wonderful options and the morning line was never long. Location was perfect, overall a low traffic area but still within short walking distance to all downtown attractions. Will definitely stay here again

Love The Crockett. Have stayed here several times. Rooms are nice and location is great. Only issue this past visit was the heater couldn't blow hot air to heat up the room during the winter storm. Room could only get to 65 and would drop if we turned it off. Would be nice if the valet parking area could eventually become covered parking spaces to avoid weather related issues.

At these prices you'd get free breakfast at the Drury chain. It's located next to the Alamo and River Walk, but so are other options in the same price range with all the extra amenities that come with such prices. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking is only valet, which is unfortunate, but expected. The on site tavern and café are too pricy for the quality, so just walk off to the shops or River Walk. Ultimately, I'd stay with a better known chain, unless you just have to stay somewhere named after David Crockett.

Staff was great. The hotel itself is a bit dated. The bathroom was really in need of a remodel. The bathroom tub was chipping with paint and the water pressure was low. The hotel itself could use some fresh carpet and a coat of paint. It's a great location for walking but it's an older hotel. Clean, but very basic and old.

The room was great. We had the Reiter Suite. We wish we had been informed that the main feature, the balcony, was off limits. This really impacted how we felt about the hotel. Had we known, we would have requested a different room. The staff was not rude, but they were not friendly. They seemed indifferent and the customer service was lacking.

Checked in before room was ready and front desk said they would place us and our family in another room on the same floor. When we went to check in later we were informed that there was a mistake and one of the rooms was already allocated. Due to the inconvenience, I was told my parking was comped. Despite this, I was charged $99 for parking and my messages thru the hotels.com app and through their website have gone unanswered. Would have been a decent stay if they kept their word.
