Our first contact with the hotel right before checking in was problematic. While we were lost in our walk toward the hotel pulling our suitcases on the cobblestone area surrounding the hotel, we called the hotel and asked them for help. However the man on the line after hearing us being lost, to our surprise hung up the phone!! We were assisted by passers-by to guide us to the Piazza della vigne.

Other than the check-in, our stay was fine. The staff was generally helpful, though not super friendly. The loft-style room was renovated, comfortable and decently appointed, although a mini-fridge would have been helpful.The breakfast served in the rooftop was excellent.

Advice to those arriving by taxi. The closest point for drop off and pick-up is Piazza Campetto - literally one minute from the hotel. Had our driver known this we would have avoided a great deal of hassle.

The hotel is clean and quiet as described. The first night the AC was not working properly and our room was quite hot in the middle of summer. The next morning we talked with the staff who were condescending and explained that because the rooms have tall ceilings and because the building is old, the rooms only cool down so much. They did send someone to fix it which made a difference.
They use WhatsApp to communicate, so beware if they do not hear back from you, they will make choices for you on your behalf.

We were one day late to check in and the staff were extremely friendly. But the location is right inside the old town and not easy to find. We had two small children below 10 and two luggages to pull around. The neighborhood was sketchy. (when we search for the hotel, we walk around a road with prostitutes and pee on the ground). We decided to book another hotel for the night and enter the old town during daylight).

Because the location is in the old town, all the great sights are within walkable distance. The room is spatious and clear. The staff were very helpful.

A very clean hotel with a very friendly staff. They even prepared a very nice surprise for our daughter who had a birthday during our stay. The location is excellent, close to water front and Piazza de Ferrari, and just a 5 min walk from San Giorgio metro station.

Beautiful old building tastefully done up with a lot of flair. My bed was up some stairs from a lovely sitting area and all in a wonderful high ceilinged room with large window.
Delicious breakfast across the way in sister hotel Palazzo Grillo. Staff went to huge trouble to make stay comfortable, booked a restaurant and then communicated with me via What's App. Overall excellent for both comfort and service. On a week's trip to Italy, this was by far the most comfortable bed.

Terrific hotel in a restored apartment block in the maze of alleyways in central historic Genoa. Location is perfect as only a few minutes walk from San Lorenzo cathedral, Piazza de Ferrari, the waterfront, etc. Friendly professional service from all staff. The breakfast is super, very sumptuous. It would have been useful to have a safe in the room. Hot water in the shower took a while to get going. Probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as the breakfast is on the fifth floor which is accessed via stairs only.

Actually room was lovely, staff were welcoming and friendly.
However overpriced for location. Far walk from the train station via several narrow alleys where you see many working ladies day and night. Not great when walking back to your apartment with your family.
This was a very last minute booking for us as there were no other family rooms available therefore did not research the location prior.

Very nice place but location is not for everyone.

Very interesting hotel that occupies a historic palazzo and part of an old residential building across a small piazza. Location is very central but sketchy and very hard to get in and out, or even to find since old Genoa is a maze. We were three and our room was small with two beds and a mezzanine with two more beds as the floor to ceiling height is huge as in all old buildings. Nice modern touches made it cozy. There was practically to place to leave your clothes (only hangers no wardrobe or drawers), the air conditioner (a split unit) was noisy and ineffective for the mezzanine since cool air stays low and hot air is lighter. There were no hangers in the bathroom either so nowhere to hang the clothes you will be using. But we were happy with our stay and the staff was very nice and helpful.

The location of the hotel is close to the main Genoa’s attractions. This is also part of Genoa’s red district but it is not an issue at all. The rooms are confortable and quiet. It is classic style is enticing. The staff is very kind and helpful. Great stay!

This hotel is awesome. It is on the 4th floor of a 15th century palazzo. The hotel floor is beautifully renovated, very modern and classy. Our room had 20' high ceilings and overlooked the Santa Maria delle Vigne cathedral. An incredibly cool space. We also really enjoyed using the beautiful second-floor lounge of the sister hotel the Palazzo Grillo.

This is a lovely annexe to the Hotel Grillo next door. On 4th floor of a restored palazzo in a tiny square in the old part of Genoa. Modernised beautifully, comfortable rooms, Communal area with complimentary tea, coffee, and cold still or sparkling water always available.
Reception and breakfast are at the Hotel Grillo. Buffet breakfast on the roof terrace of the hotel is fantastic, with a wide choice including homemade bread and pastries..
Staff at Hotel Grillo were always friendly and helpful.
Within easy walking distance of the sights.I would recommend wholeheartedly.

A Charming Hotel

We had difficulty finding the hotel after our taxi driver did not want to drive to the suggested square near the location. With this being the first time in Genoa the numerous, narrow streets were confusing and we made some wrong turns. Overall it was worth the trek. Reception and breakfast at 4 star sister hotel next door. Rooms are on the 4th floor using a small, funky elevator. We had a junior suite view room overlooking the square and a small, beautiful church, 1960's décor in restored classical building. Large modern bathroom with large tub and separate shower. Complementary (instant) coffee and chilled water in common area. Good breakfast. No English TV channels.

We were greeted warmly and helped a great deal with local information that was directly pertinent to us.
Room was very warm and air conditioning sufficient for main living area but as bed was in an upper mezzanine area, oppressively warm and impossible to get cool enough - room consistently showed temperature in upper 20's.
Bed exceptionally comfortable, good quality bedding and sheets changed every day. Towels changed as needed.
Hot water was very slow in the middle of the night when we needed to shower because of the overheated bed area but otherwise fine and easily controlled..
Breakfast very good range and quality and staff continuously replenishing food and clearing away. All staff friendly and helpful throughout.

Lovely hotel in the old town. We got a little lost on way from station and the streets were a little gritty but once we got bearings all fine. Just need to be aware. Really recommend hotel. Great breakfast helpful staff and on a quiet square with a perfect cafe to have a drink. Also the tourist office tour worth doing as includes entrance to museums and interesting.

Beautiful historic building & Stylishly Modern.

A beautifully renovated building with frescoed ceilings, old marble stairways and cherubs but fused tastefully with stylish modern touches and contemporary deco. It’s on a small quiet square in a pedestrian zoned area so it’s very peaceful. We had a scenic view of the church dome and tower through our window, I recommend you visit this church as it has lovely ornate ceilings and is free to go inside.
Breakfasts were superb, freshly squeezed orange juice and the lightest of croissants and plenty of fresh fruit, also the bonus of eating inside or out on the pretty roof top terrace soaking up the sun.
The queen-size bed was very comfy, our room was kept spotlessly clean and the staff were all very helpful.
I especially appreciated the free coffee, tea and cakes and water cooler that were laid on in a special room with tables and chairs, so that when you returned from a tiring sightseeing day you could revive yourself with a pasty and hot cup of tea or refill your water bottle with cold water.

We liked everything about the Le Nuvole--central location, the rooms are spotless, sexy bathrooms, nice breakfast (additional charge) on the roof. If you want to stay in the Centro Storico, this is a good choice.

A minimalist Duplex was something of a shock after a fully furnished traditional affittacamere as previous stay in Parma! Initially had some concerns over a low ceiling on the upper deck (beam is 6ft above floor and I am 6ft 2) and stairs up to it at night, but after the first day no worries. Well situated, delightful buildings, view out on to church opposite, roof terrace for al fresco breakfast and lounge well stocked with coffee table books. Great.

Great location in quiet square. Lovely big room in separate building to main hotel. The lift in the building was very slow and only held 2 people at a time which caused queuing to get down and across to the main hotel for breakfast although i appreciate that it is a very old building. Also would have liked tea & coffee facilites in the room even thought there was a lounge area providing tea, coffee and water. The breakfast was excellent, everything you would want on a buffet.

Beautiful Restored Residence in Historic Genoa

Great location. 500m walk from recommended car-park did not bother us, especially when we figured out best way to walk. Check-in is across at the beautiful Hotel Palazzo Grillo where you also can enjoy a wonderful breakfast. Staff were excellent and very helpful - we were accompanied to our room in the hotel restored antique residence on the 4th floor across the small piazza. Beautifully restored building with super-high ceilings, a common salon area to enjoy tea, coffee etc. relax, it was a very nice place to stay and explore old Genoa. We were very fortunate to arrive on one of the only 2 weekends in a year when all the palaces are open to the public (very close by).

Loved the hotel, very nice rooms, lovely breakfast. Couldn't have picked a better location. We also enjoyed the piazza, had dinner there twice.
We liked everything except the heat but has nothing to do with the hotel. The Air Condition could have worked better in our room #2. our children also stayed in the same hotel and their A/C worked fine. Should we ever go back to Genua we will stay there again.

Boutique comfort in ideal central location

This hotel (and its twin next door) offers elegant, spacious, and stylish rooms in a restored 15th-century building in historic Genoa centre. The staff are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. My only minor criticisms are that the bathroom, while beautiful, was lacking some basic amenities (tissues, shampoo), and service in the breakfast area was not great when it was crowded.

FABULOUS place! GOING back if I am ever in Genoa.

What an amazing and wonderful place to stay! Really modern decor and wonderful spaces. We loved the breakfast and the teapots that were always available to have tea during the stay. It was a little hard to find so make sure you get directions prior to going there. Parking is also not available as you have to park outside the old city where the hotel is. Maybe 10 minute walk from the parking area.

Location was the only issue for me.

The hotel is located in the old, historic part of the city, that, although it is true that it is in the center of the old town, there are many dark, smelly, thin streets all around. The Piaza La Vigne, right in front of the door entrance to the hotel, was very smelly. The hotel is also located two blocks from the area where you see a lot of women in the oldest business at 3 pm in the afternoon, so one does not feel too secure for going out at nights, so LOCATION was an issue for me. We had to have dinner earlier than usual, trying to get to the hotel early, too. The hotel is also in an upper floor of a residential building, you have to take a very small elevator to get to the hotel, and there is no terrace nor any outdoor area up there. No restaurant in the hotel. Rooms and bathroom are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was continental. The front desk woman was not too helpful in giving us information on the area.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in der Unterkunft und waren grundsätzlich wieder sehr zufrieden. Die Lage in der Altstadt ist für uns ideal um Genua zu erkunden. Wir hatten ein \"zweistöckiges\" Zimmer mit Badewanne. Bequeme Betten und Kissen, eine grosse Badewanne für zwei und freundliches Personal machen den Aufenthalt angenehm. Weniger gut ist, dass die Verdunklungsvorhänge etwas zu klein gerate sind und morgens rechts und links viel Licht rein kommt. So startet man früh in den Tag.... aber wir kommen sicher wieder.

Kamer was ruim, schoon, had een vide met bed voor een derde persoon (ook heel ruim), modern ingericht (beetje Ikea stijl) en een keurige badkamer. We mochten gebruik maken van zitjes op de gang en koffie en thee faciliteiten en het ontbijt was uitgebreid met zelfs verse jus d'orange (waar vind je dat nog).
Personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Helaas misten wij op onze kamer: een koelkastje, een bureau of iets dergelijks om je spullen op te leggen, een kast(je) (er was wel een klein kledingrek) en tissues in de badkamer.

Diese Unterkunft ist mitten in Genua auf einem ruhigen Platz gelegen. Dieser bietet auch ein Restaurant, ein Café und eine Bar, sowie das benachbarte Hotel, in dem die Rezeption des Nuvole gelegen ist. Unser Zimmer hatte eine Empore, auf der das Bett war. Unten dann ein Wohnzimmer. Die Treppe ist steil und schmal. Würde ich mit kleinen Kindern oder Gehbehinderung nicht empfehlen. Kenne aber nur unser Zimmer. Für uns war die Raumaufteilung perfekt Von hier aus erreicht man alles im Centro Storico rasch zu Fuss. Unendlich viele Ess und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Die Anreise mit dem Zug ist wegen teurer Parkmöglichkeiten empfehlenswert.

Tolle Unterkunft in ca. 500 Jahre altem Gebäude. Zimmer groß, sauber, modern mit hochwertiger Ausstattung. Mitten in der Altstadt von Genua nur einen Steinwurf von den Sehenswürdigkeiten entfernt. Freundliches Personal mit Tips für Restaurants; trotz nur 2 Nächten Aufenthalt Zimmerservice. Wasser, Tee, Kaffee im Gemeinschaftsbereich zur Selbstbedienung.

Fantastisk hotel. Smukt renoveret klassisk bygning. Indgangen snyder, men når man står ud på hotel-etagen er alt nyt og flot med designermøbler og spændende farver. Super søde og hjælpsomme i receptionen, som man lige skal gætte er i en anden bygning. Der er hyggeområde med te, kaffe og vand til fri brug. Der er kun godt at sige om dette sted, som dog kan være lidt svært at finde frem til.

Klockrent hotell i gamla staden. Bekvämt och fräscht rum. Bra lounge på våningsplanet med vatten, kaffe/te och småtugg. Unik upplevelse att få bo i ett ombyggt gammalt palats.

Dock passar inte kvarteren runt hotellet alla sorters resenärer. Gatuprostitution, narkomaner och småkriminella framförallt i gränderna norr om boendet.

Klarar man av det är det ändå ett toppenläge för att utforska Genova.

Sehr freundliches Personal, angebotenes Frühstücksbuffet bietet sehr grosse Auswahl ist sehr gut, prima Lage mitten in der Altstadt nicht weit von einer Metrostation. Gepflegtes Zimmer.

Chambre spacieuse, impeccable mais trop chauffée. Il nous a été précisé qu'il était impossible de régler en dessous de 23°. Concernant le petit-déjeuner, belle offre mais les plats censés être chauds étaient complètement froids le deuxième jour, dommage. Enfin, il a fallu réclamer la bouteille comprise dans l'offre vip access. L'hôtel est remarquablement bien situé, sur une place magique.

Mooi hotel in slechte buurt.

Mooie kamer ingericht met design meubels. Goed ontbijt. Buurt was echter vreselijk met prostituees, zwervers en junks om de hoek, niet veilig s avonds. Verder moest je alles maar zelf uitzoeken, tarief voor parkeergarage bv. Van beloofd flesje wijn niets gezien. Hotel is te duur voor wat je krijgt.

Bellissimo Hotel nella zona storica. Ci si arriva a piedi tra i vicoletti. Purtroppo trovare parcheggi gratuiti nella zona è quasi impossibile, si deve andare a pagamento. 20 euro al giorno con la convenzione dell'Hotel.

Muy malo !!

Fue una muy mala experiencia, primero nos costó un mundo llegar el lugar está en medio de callejones dignos de película de terror. Luego de esta desagradable aventura logramos llegar al hotel. Esto no es un hotel, es una residencial,fe, viejo con un ascensor horrible. Cuando le dijimos que nos queríamos estacionar ( lunes a las 12:00 pm.) Nos dijeron textual, que el estacionamiento estaba casi un kilómetro y que hubiéramos cuidado con los delincuentes. Insólito!! Es el peor hotel que me he hospedado. No lo recomiendo.

L’hotel est magnifique, grandes belles chambres, petit-déjeuner excellent sur la terrasse (attention aux guêpes toutefois) Le gros point faible de l’établissement est sont emplacement au sein du quartier des prostituées et de leurs souteneurs. L’hotel est très difficile à trouver (nous avons rencontré plusieurs personnes perdues à la recherche de l’adresse) du coup, on se retrouve à errer dans les ruelles au milieu des prostituées et franchement on ne se sent pas du tout en sécurité. Le soir je ne me serais pas vue rentrer la nuit tombée. C’est vraiment dommage car l’hotel est vraiment bien. Le mieux est de bien repérer votre chemin à l’avance et de ne pas vous fier au gps qui pour je ne sais quelle raison n’arrive pas à nous situer précisément. Sinon la situation est pratique pour visiter le centre historique.
