High prices, Low standards

The service is terrible. Everything is extremely slow with no enthusiasm. However they include hefty service charge into prices, without delivery the corresponding level of service. I would not recommend to stay there.

All and all, the hotel is not bad. It's just average, the food was meh, the pool was kind of dirty. I had no hot water for my entire stay and no water at all at one point.

They offered me a free alacarte brakfast witha sea view but it wasnt free, before even having any coffe of water , they wanted me to sit down a listed to a insanely aggressive vacation club sales pitch.

I don't think I'm ever going back to a belive hotel

The property was run down. Everything was old and damaged. The bathroom had no door and the ceiling fan was covered with dust. There was limited food that was terrible. Lunch and dinner were the same food. The snack bar by the beach only served rice, beans, hot dogs and burgers. The male staff was always asking women for their phone number and the employees running the activities were always trying to get you to buy things. Very uncomfortable stay ended up leaving early

This is my 5th stay at Hamaca, my last one was over 9 years ago. I went exclusively to accompany my father for his birthday, because absolutely he loves the hot jacuzzi in the garden pool. But expecting that to be working is too much to ask. I could not believe how neglected this place was. They are shutting down the garden side during the week, but if the pool remains open, they should also get the jacuzzi running. The food choices and service were good. Entertainment was good, but it had declined sharply since my last visit. Check in was slow, but any issues after that were rapidly resolved by the front desk. I have been to over a dozen resorts, including Hamaca, but I never had a staff asking for money 💵. I spent the only night fully awake because of a horrible smell in the mattress by the glass door in room 017. I swear something died on that mattress. I am not planning on returning to resort.

The resorts amenities are pretty cool. Staff is mostly friendly.
Though definitely a get what you pay for situation.

Booked a King Room and upon entering noticed a puddle in the middle of the entryway. We made them aware the air conditioner was leaking, but they only gave us the run around. We weren’t switched to another room until nearly midnight.

Please INSPECT your room thoroughly upon arrival and make sure everything is working (ac, shower, etc)

Unfortunately my experience was not as pleasant as we planned, the hotel staff could be said to have been excellent. The facilities urgently need to be restored, the areas are extremely unpleasant, dirty, broken, spacious but outdated rooms with bad smell and so much humidity that my partner fell ill. Out of 6 restaurants only one open, food completely tasteless and both of us got sick, we decided to eat at adjoining Pelicano and Neptuno restaurants, quite expensive by the way, so the cost of the all-inclusive tripled. Excellent location, excellent private beach. With the updates I would come back again.

This used to be my go to place. I would say I have been to Hamaca a total of six times. So convenient because it is so close to airport and to the city where my family lives. I was shocked and disappointed. It is nowhere near what it used to be. No nightclub, service at the buffet was terrible, and food is not what it used to be. The rooms are basic and look old and grungy. They charge you for everything! ROOM SAFE, TOWELS, if you misplace your room key, you name it, they will charge you for it!! There are people CONSTANTLY HARRASSING YOU to buy something or to get an excursion even though you already told them 10 times that you were not interested. I don't think I will EVER go back.

WARNING: RESORT IS A SCAM AND HEALTH HAZZARD. STAY AWAY!! I booked the resort for a family vacation (family of 6). We arrived at the resort around 2:30am and literally left to go back to the airport to go home at 4:30am. It was utterly disgusting. When we arrived at the front desk, it was filthy and needed some serious updates! After checking in at the front desk they walked us to our room, on our way to the room my husband slipped on vomit in the hallway. Once we arrived at our room it looked NOTHING like the pictures on the website, there was an overwhelming mold smell and the room was dirty. We went back to complain to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager and asked for another room. The manager proceeded to show us 5 different rooms...3 of them had people actually sleeping in them....the other 2 rooms were just as bad as the original room. Because it was spring break there were no other resorts available to us to stay at so we had no choice but to catch a flight back to the states. I worked with Expedia (who was great) on getting a refund, however they had a number of issues connecting with the hotel...they were hung up on multiple times and at one point laughed at. The Expedia representative had no other choice but to refund us and apologize. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

We have been travelling to Dominican Republic since 2015 (once or twice a year) mostly to Puntacana.
It was our first trip to Boca Chica Santo Domingo and it was horrible.
The resort we went in Feb. 23rd 2022 for 10 days is called “Be Live Hamaca Beach”.
It is a very old resort, with all the issues we experienced are as follow:
Lobby:
The first day we entered the resort, we noticed that the water was pouring down (not leaking) from the ceiling of the main lobby… the lobby was mostly full of water.
The second day the pouring the water happened again from a different side of the ceiling in the lobby… same issue, the lobby was full of water until it was fixed few hours later.
The staff weren’t friendly, and they hardly speak English except for one of them who was always on the tiktok.
Room:
There was no hot water for couple days, so we had to take cold shower.
The toilet wasn’t flashing properly, and the bed had a broken leg.
When I brought this up, the guy in the reception heard my complain but without doing anything, he continued watching tiktok on his cell phone. When I told him it is urgent, he pointed to a service desk which was at the other corner of the lobby, but no one was there. The guy told me to wait for him to report the issue.
When the service desk person should up, there were lots of other people waiting for him and the line up grow long.
The service desk person recorded my issues; however, no action was taken except the hot water was resolved.

The resort is dated. The food was boring. It had little to no seasoning or flavor. The bathtub in the room was cracked. The air conditioning barely worked. The pools were dirty. It was not a pleasant experience. I was scared because there were three separate guests that were yelling at the staff because of the condition of their rooms. I will never stay there again.

This is my fifth time at this resort and every time the experience gets even better. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The beds are super comfortable. The all inclusive buffet and cocktails are delicious with many options to choose from. There's always something to do at this resort for all ages whether is to relax or have fun. I would recommend it to anyone.

I will never go back there or refer anyone there. Ask for two towels the night before receive one towel until the next morning. It two of us and they can two but they still give us one towel, they don’t even give us a towel to put on the floor by shower stand.The room smell terrible, wake up the next morning no cold water, sat down on the balcony full of bird poop. Overall this hotel needs big time help. Have much more to say but i stop here.

The property was old and in bad conditions. Fridege with mold, furniture broken. The decoration was terrible. The guy who work there and attended us Elis was a lier and scam us with a \"romantic breakfast\" wich was not romantic brekfast at all. A seller was sitted on our \"romantic breakfast\" for an hour trying to sell us a thing for traveling and hotel stays. This was a nightmare eperience.

My room did not have the basic needs, such as refrigerator, control remote and telephone (to at least call guest services). The guest services is awful as the first night, I waited for over an hour to be able to speak with someone personally, but no one came. When I finally spoke to someone they said this would be resolved within an hour and it never happened. This was indeed my last visit to this estsblishment, do not recommend this stay to not even my worst enemy.

To start, the pictures are from at least 10 years ago. The hotel looks that it hasn’t been maintained in years. I had to change room because the a/c wasn’t working and the room was really dirty. The second room I got was a little cleaner but was not very clean. The staff saw that I was with a stroller and a baby and they gave me a room in the second floor knowing that there is no elevator and that they had rooms in the ground floor(the second room I got). If you don’t pay the all inclusive there is no way to pay for anything, you must look for food elsewhere.

Our stay at BE-LIVE-HOTELS LA HAMACA was a nightmare. They assigned us a room without water to bathe or to flush the toilet, my family and I weren't even able to bathe or use the toilet the night we arrived. Next days after a long battle with VIP department without any results my daughter threatened them to call local and international media to report their poor and horrible service. Also, I requested a room for what I paid for or a immediately refund for us to checkin at another hotel near by. But they made everything difficult theirs staff treated guests bad they were so ignorant they need customer services training. Well finally they changed our room but my blood pressure got so high that instead of enjoying my vacation I ended in the emergency room where they had to put me a monitor for 24 hours to monitor my heart. After 24 hours the cardiology removed the monitor and his diagnosis was that my blood pressure rose due to some emotional event (issues)
