The apartment was perfect! We received an upgrade to a 2 bedroom. Beds are soft, the bathroom is huge, all kitchen amenities are available, except for seasonings.

The area is very remote, with no nearby restaurants that are open for lunch during non-summer season. You will have to drive to Leknes or another town for lunch. The hotel has breakfast and dinner.

The manager was very friendly but the female staff who checked us in was unfriendly and borderline rude.

The room is super hot and the thermostat did not function properly. It was preset and did not lower the temperature when we used the thermostat to lower the temperature.

The facility was understaffed. The front desk was often empty without anyone (only one person) and there is no phone from the room to call the front desk, fyi.

Positives: The room was spacious, and there was free parking on site, which is great. They have laundry service for $20 per bag, but they forgot to run our laundry so we couldn’t get our clothes at the end of the day (usually they run it in the morning and pick up in the afternoon).

The jacuzzi they advertise needs to be reserved and paid ahead of time.

Finding the reception area to check in was extremely difficult and confusing. Their signs gave little clues. Went into the restaurant, but nobody was around, so kept looking. Went back into the restaurant and just started wandering. Tucked way in the back was the reception. He admitted many visitors have a hard time. Then my reservation clearly said room with water and mountains view...yeah if we really stretched our neck we could see a little of it. The kitchen counter was drenched with water we had to clean up, the couch pillows looked dirty and the floor carpeting was old and worn. Immediately entering the room we encountered a very strong musty smell. We've been traveling for nearly two weeks through Norway and this place was the only true disappointment.

Good property for the value. Great service and pleasant staff. They have a restaurant on site too with great breakfast and view on water which is a big plus how ever i didnt use it as not a lot of vegetarian options for dinner. I was not surprised as its a fishing town and i do not eat fish or meat.

Otherwise cant think of anything bad to write for review. They were even accodomating for luggage w flight times. Thank u fir wonderful stay

What a disappointing experience. We booked a 3-bedroom villa and even though the villa was really nice furnished, it missed some essentials. For us, as we spent several weeks traveling, it was important to have a washer and a dryer. We first emailed the property to ask for this information but never received an answer -that could’ve been a red flag, but we did not see the signs-. Then we called and were told that we would have everything we needed, but forgot to mention that the washer/dryer is just ONE and located in a tiny room at the parking lot with hours of “operations” (for guests just between 3pm-9pm) as they needed to be share by all the guests AND hotel staff, as those are the ones also use for washing/drying towels and other hotel stuff.

Although the Expedia listing indicated the Villa had refrigerator/freezer, there is no freezer, so all our frozen products got wasted. Also listed was daily housekeeping, and this never happened during our 4-days stay.

Front desk service and restaurant hours are also very limited. Reception opening hours are 9am-11:45am, then closedown 11:45am to 3:00pm and open again 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Restaurant only opens 8am to 10am for breakfast (20 euro per person) and 5pm-10pm for dinner.

Reception is also hard to find when first arriving. Please be aware if you arrive early (as happened to us) you would find everything closed and no place -besides inside your car- to wait, eat or use the toilet while waiting.

Off-season stay in refurbished design rooms

We visited off-season in mid May. This is a cosy and authentic place. The newly refurbished rooms are fresh and modern, and even the corridor outside the room was a pleasant experience. As they were refurbishing the reception area and restaurant, we were welcomed by the staff outside the building. Breakfast was delivered to our door in the morning. Would like the option of a vegetarian breakfast, but we were never asked.

The room was very small, the bathroom lights flickered, the bathroom drain was slow, the room was overwhelming hot in the afternoon, even with the window open. We had to open the door to the outside hallway to get it to cool down just a little. The menu at the restaurant is very limited.

Beautiful design and area!

I loved this lovely hotel in Ballstad. The design was beautiful, absolutely stunning! There was an incredible restaurant on site that we visited for both dinner and breakfast, and the area of the hotel could NOT have been more lovely! There was an actual viking looking ship right outside the main area, it was gorgeous! The room did get pretty warm at night, but opening the windows definitely helped. The front desk had a hairdryer for us to borrow, and overall our stay was lovely.

Great place, Great scenery Great people

Marcus and Stella was marvelous. They helped with the local surroundings as this was my first time to Lofoten Islands. Their suggestions and recommendations were spot on. Marcus loaned me his tripod stand and helped me tune the camera to Aurora mode and the photos came out better than I ever had.
The weather held up, which was good and got a bit snowy and windy after I left. I had a room facing the marina, the old Viking ship and the view were just great to do my work.

Beautiful location in sweet and comfortable accommodation. We arrived late on the day due to the ferries but the staff had already ensured our room was warm and our keys were easy to locate. They left us to it for our entire stay but would say hello when they saw us which was good. The rooms are spacious and have amazing views out into the harbour. We also found that there were nights where you could see the northern lights from this property. My only advice to guest is to make sure you bring your own towels as it is more an apartment than a hotel.

Nous avons passés une très bonne nuit. Chambre moderne et spacieuse. Retrait des clés rapide. Sauna très agréable et petit déjeuner très apprécié avec une belle variété d’aliments. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel !
Juste pour info : il y avait une odeur de nourriture désagréable dans le couloir (nous étions au dessus du restaurant). Peut être faudrait-il mettre une diffuseur de parfum afin d’atténuer ces odeurs ?

Bra hotell med sköna sängar. Frukosten var mycket bra och vi fick en frukostbox med oss då vi åkte tidigt sista dagen. Ingen städning under vistelsen, vilket kan vara bra att veta. Vi åt på restaurangen en kväll och det var både gott och bra service. Dock upplevde vi att det var lite stressigt.

3 soverom med 2 bad.
Frokost og renhold ikke inkl i pris fra Hotell.com.
Vi spiste middag der, men det ble en dårlig erfaring da vi venta omtrent 1,5 t på maten og da Bacalaoen ble servert, var den veldig god, men krydret så mye at den nesten ikke kunne spises.
Ellers et veldig koselig sted. Vi var der for 4 år siden og likte oss godt da.

Wir haben uns grundsätzlich sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gab nur ein paar Einschränkungen:
- die Toilette war undicht und hat daher immer wieder nach abgestanden Wasser gerochen
- der Generator war besonders nachts zu laut
- da wir 5 Abende dort waren, ist die Auswahl der Speisen (wir weigern uns Wal zu essen) beschränkt
- die Restaurantchefin war super und hat uns gut beim Gin beraten

Aivan ihana miljöö. Huone siisti ja kaikki mukavuudet löytyi, ainut iso miinus oli kuivattu kalanpää joka roikkui katosta joka toi kamalan tunkkaisen hajun huoneeseen, myös portaat parvelle niin jyrkät ettei sielä voinut nukkua. Hyvä asiakaspalvelu, kaikki puhuivat sujuvaa englantia.

Viihtyisä huone hotellin ravintolan yläpuolella. Viihtyvyyttä häiritsi kalan haju, mikä kantautui ravintolasta huoneistoon.
Respa auki vain muutamia tunteja päivässä, antoivat hyviä vinkkejä paikallisten suosimille patikointireiteille.
Saunaan ei ehditty, koska sulkivat sen aikaisin.

Flott sted- flott beliggenhet, veldig fine, moderne og romslige rom, utrolig god mat på restauranten. Vi spiste hvalkjøtt carpaccio, som var det beste hvalkjøttet jeg noengang har spist, og grillet tørrfisk som også smakte nydelig. Vinanbefaling matcher godt og prisene var heller ikke ille.
