Cheap place to stay

The hotel was a good place to stay. More like a U.S. motel with door access to the outside. Cigarette smell was coming into the room from another room. Breakfast buffet has a decent variety but they never refilled it while we were there so we didn't get some food. If you are looking for cheap stay and just a place to crash this works perfectly.

OK place to lay your head.

I was just passing through Chateau Thierry, and needed somewhere to sleep. The Campanile was ideal: comfortable and clean, but unexceptional. Located on the very edge of town, it is up a long steep hill from the restaurants and shops by the river. But there is a boulangerie and a fast food outlet across the road, and the hotel itself has a decent restaurant. The rooms are basic and the beds small, not the kind of place you'd want to spend several days, but a great place for a brief stopover - utilitarian, but reasonably priced.

The staff were polite and helpful.

I understand and acknowledge it was inexpensive. But no milk for coffee, no fridge, paper cups, no chairs to sit on. No front door mat - it was raining so internal floor got wet and no way to dry it! altogether too basic! I would not stay there again

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good: The location was easy to find and apart from the congestion of the city and the city's confusing roads. The parking lot was fenced and locked with plenty of space and good security. The staff was helpful with recommendations on where to eat. The Bad: The place is undergoing renovation, so the restaurant is closed and one room was converted to a breakfast room. The lot was potholed. The gardeners were outside our room at 9 am with gasoline weed whackers, which we could smell in the room. The room wasn't exactly clean, but other than needing a good sweeping, wasn't particularly dirty. The room price was no bargain. The Ugly: Construction dumpsters, fenced off areas, all the other general aspects of living on a construction site.

Good for a one night stop off

We stayed one night on the way from Southern France to Belgium so this was ideal for a one night stay over. It's a \"motel\" style place with the doors to the room on the outside of the building, but the rooms were modernised and clean, free parking and free wifi. Didn't try the food, but restaurant area looked very nice.

Good hotel if you are passing through

A simple hotel with no extra frills but missing nothing major; the Internet was free, the room/bathroom clean, the water hot, the bed soft and the cable working. Set a little outside the main portion of town it was still a pleasant fifteen minute walk. Only complaint is that the breakfast for as simple as it was, was somewhat overpriced.

Visiting Belleau Wood

This hotel is convieniently located off of the A4 (E50). It is very easy to get to off of the main highway. Belleau Wood is approx 8 miles away. The hotel staff speak enough English to get you checked in and out. They speak more English than I do French. The breakfast is good. Typical European buffet with crapes, bread, cheese, cereal, etc... There is a grocery store right across the street, too. The room was clean and warm. modern decore. No English speaking TV channels. No refrigerator or hot plate. WIFI was pretty fast and reliable. Bed was big, clean and comfortable. This was a once in a lifetime trip for me to go see Belleau Wood and the USMC Memorials. For someone on a similar pilgrimage, I would recommend this hotel. It is centrally located to the memorials that you would like to see. The Aisne-Marne Cemetery is not to be missed. Not sure what else is close by, we spent all of our time at the Chateau-Thierry Monument-Hill 204, the Aisne-Marne Memorial and in Belleau.

Great base for country travel.

Clean, modern, comfortable rooms, large by French standards. Restaurant good and reasonably priced. There is also a conference room for business meetings. On the outskirts of Chateau Thierry, so someone wanting to do the sights in the town would do better to get a hotel nearer the city center or perhaps on the Marne River. But the Campanile is well located for trips to the nearby American Military cemeteries, etc. If you stay here, you'll want a car (they have secure parking by the rooms). There is a grocery store, pharmacy, and gas station nearby.

Campanile Chateau-Thierry Hotel

We were visiting Belleau Wood and the American Cemeteries and memorials in the area. This hotel was conveniently located to all sites and the very charming towns around it. The hotel was clean, basic, modern in design. The restaurant was overpriced for the area and my medium steak was so served so rare that it not only bled, it screamed for mercy. No credit or alternate food option was offered. I was also disappointed that a staff member was reprimanded for not charging us 2 euro for opening our personal bottle of wine.

My advise is to stay in the room, avoid the restaurant, and don't ask for anything from the staff.

Hôtel qui nécessiterait un bon relooking , plats réchauffés le soir pour restauration, chambre également à rénover, obligé de demander à changer les serviettes de bain qui restaient humides de plus seulement une serviette par personne, plusieurs cintres cassés ne permettant pas d’accrocher des pantalons,
Petits déjeuners corrects mais fallait pas arriver dans les derniers.
Aucuns soucis avec le personnel agréable.

Grote ontgoocheling doordat er geen restaurant aanwezig is. Restaurant staat wel degelijk vermeld (met foto’s) op de website van Capanile alsook van Hotels.com.
Het is niet leuk om na reis van 650 km nog met de auto op zoek moeten gaan naar een restaurant. Kamer is dringend aan renovatie toe. TV werkt niet. Poort van de parking werkt niet. Ontbijtbuffet is wel zeer correct.

We stayed 2 nights, our room was not cleaned. The restaurant was not open on the weekend and every place in town to eat was closed. Our 2nd night when we returned to the hotel no staff was there until 11pm. We sat in the beer garden area and watched as a staff member showed up but was acting very awkward, he didn't even greet us.
The room was very basic, beds had broken springs in them and uncomfortable.

Des soucis en cascade.

Des notre arrivée, nous sommes confronte à un problème, heureusement celui-ci est réglé rapidement par le personnel. Cependant le séjour ne fut que source de soucis. La réservation effectuée pour deux personnes souffre de ne pas avoir les équipements necessaires. Une seule chaise, une serviette, un gobelet et pour couronner le sejour le wifi est coupé dès 8h00 le matin, empechant tout travail matinal.

Schönes Motel in gutem Zustand

Auf der Durchreise an die Algarve Portugal sollte es eine schönes aber nicht zu teure Unterkunft sein. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, obwohl es sich mehr um ein Hotel mit \"Motelcharakter\" handelt. Zustand aber wirklich gut. Toller Service (Service Dame hatte ihren 1. Tag) obwohl das angegebene Restaurant vor Weihnachten geschlossen war wurde uns zu einer Pizza geholfen. Frühstück (enthalten) war auch gut. Freundlich und gemütlich, es waren ausreichend kostenfreie Parkplätze vorhanden!

Chambres très bien climatisées, super appréciable en cette période de canicule à 40 °C. Seul regret : la salle de repas/réception qui n'est pas climatisée : regrettable, et surtout lamentable pour l'équipe de l'Hotel qui y travaille au quotidien, à + de 35° en ce moment...
Mais elle garde le sourire et le sens de l'humour = très bonne équipe.

Il y a malheureusement des choses à revoir
L accueil manque de personnel donc deborde a notre arrivé , chambre non fumeur qui sent la cigarette, du bruit vers 1h du matin a l extérieur comme a l intérieur, serviette mouillé non remplacé le lendemain alors que nous avons réservé sur 2 jours, poubelle vide mais le sac était resté sur la table, moisissure au dessus de la porte de la chambre a l intérieur,
Au niveau restaurant dans l ensemble assez bien sauf trouvé dans une verrine au fond une grosse mouche avec le dessert,
Sinon le parking très bien .

Bei nächtlichen Außentemperaturen unter 0°C war es bei schlecht bzw. gar nicht funktionierender Heizung im Zimmer kaum 18°C. Haartrockner funktionierte nicht; war dem Hotelpersonal bekannt, es wurde aber nichts unternommen. Der Gesamteindruck. etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Frühstück etwas spartanisch, aber noch ok. Gute Lage des Hotels zu meinem Kunden. Ich kenne andere Campanile Hotels, die wesentlich besser waren. Dieses Hotel würde ich beim nächsten Besuch nicht mehr nehmen.

Pour les personnes sensible aux bruits ne pas prendre de chambre à l'arrière du bâtiment sinon prevoyez des bouchons d'oreille. La porte d'entrée, la gâche ne ferme quasiment plus. Sinon décoration de la chambre est sympa. Sinon le reste est conforme à la chaîne d'hôtel.

Confortable et fonctionnel

Fonctionnel, accès indépendants des chambres du rdc très pratique.
Bruit de la route à côté pas dérangeant, literie très très bien, bouilloire et thé/café à dispo super.
Aération SDB moyenne, un peu humide.
Configuration chambre très pratique à vivre en famille avec sa table intégrée.
Une bonne adresse si on cherche simple et fonctionnel.
