The hotel was beautiful. The staff was kind. The breakfast was delicious. The problem was noise. Room 214 was so impacted by music playing nearby, that the bed vibrated with bass sounds. Earplugs did nothing to suppress the sound. The music did not stop until after 1:30 am. It was not a room that could be used for sleep. When I stepped out of the room I could still hear the noise down the entire hallway of the second floor. The staff felt the music was coming from a nearby establishment. I would not recommend the second floor or a weekend night if you want to sleep.

Ice skating rink is right across the street. The hotel offers vouchers that can be used for a discount at dinner, brunch, or breakfast at its adjacent restaurant, which is a very nice place.

We hit the bonanza in finding this hotel on a road trip home. Two other layover towns were a bust for hotel and steak house. Driving father north, we looked into Chico. We have never been to Chico but were looking for a nice steak house and hotel. We found the perfect restaurant with this gem (Diamond) of a hotel to stay that was only two blocks from the restaurant. Free parking and free breakfast were added perks. The hotel was very clean, classy and comfortable. It felt and looked like a vintage, antique hotel but with all the modern amenities. Crazy enough, we would divert from I-5 next time just to stay here. It's great to know that we now have a destination hotel when traveling between Oregon and southern California. We had a lovely dinner, then walk back to hotel for a night cap at the bar. A perfect evening.

The staff here are amazingly nice and accommodating. I asked for a different pillow, they brought me one. I asked to borrow a phone charger they had every kind. Diamond Hotel is a great property. There are not many worthwhile hotels in Chico. This was probably the nicest. Good centralized location. Great steakhouse about a block away. Several boutique-type shopping stores are just around the corner. Multiple bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel is quiet and clean, offering massages and a steakhouse on the premises, although we did not use either one. We will stay here next time we come through Chico.

The toilet need to be replaced, they are old low flow toilet installed in the early 90’s and clog easily. Newer low flow toilets operate better, it embarrassing to call down to the front desk for assistance. I have been staying at the Diamond sense they opened and this is a recurring issue.

I had to request a change for my room. I was given a room on the 4th floor looking toward the garage. The a/c units were so noisy all night long even though I had earplugs. Definitely would request a room on a lower floor on the other side of the building where it is so much quieter!

Breakfast included was ok. Nothing special. Liked the victorian decor and vintage photos in the halls.

The Diamond is a wonderful boutique hotel that has been thoughtfully restored and decorated with gorgeous antiques. The staff is friendly and helpful, many of whom are local university students. The restaurant and bar are fantastic. You are right in the middle of charming downtown and can't go wrong with this place!

The Hotel Diamond was very beautiful and luxurious. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff was super friendly and the free breakfast was a custom-made omlette with potatoes, fruit, and all the coffee and juice you care to drink. We loved being downtown within walking distance to all the great shops and restaurants. The free parking in the adjacent parking garage was an unexpected plus.
