Hotel Alameda has been my home every time I come to Morelia for the last 50 years and always has been pleasent this time when we arrived my wife ask for room number 108 they say no problem we will give you room 108 few seconds later the lady in the reception area said you need to pay additional 350 pesos, I told the reception lady that we are customers of the hotel for the last 50 years and never before we have to pay additional charges on room request she said sorry is company policy she didn’t care I was loyal customer or expedia member she said if you want the room for what you paid do it directly at the hotel I told her I always do my reservations with expedia and was not polide to say that I guess I need to change hotels when I come to Morelia

Overall clean room, the elevator is very small and outdated (for visualization purposes, two people and one stroller is max capacity). The checkout time is noon but the hotel deactivates the room keys before that time. This was definitely an inconvenience as the room keys are also used to be able to access the elevator.

The room was actually okay. Interior room with no windows but it’s an old building so understandable.
The noise that came from the lobby was awful! Loud music until 3 am. We were approached 3 times from vendors trying to sell tours just while waiting in line to check in. 3 bars around lobby making lots of noise!!!

We saw people leaving at 11:30 pm to go to a different hotel because of the “music”!

This was our first time staying here, and we really enjoyed it. I think this has become our favorite place to stay in Morelia. Most places in the central part of the city let you hear the nightclubs at night, but here you can’t, which is amazing. Even during the huge concert that took place over Independence weekend, we couldn’t hear anything from our rooms.
Another thing we appreciated was the security. There are locked gates to enter the hallway that leads to another secure gate before you reach the rooms, which made us feel very safe. The parking garage is also included and is conveniently located less than a block away.
Overall, the best part is being right in the middle of the city and being able to wake up and explore all the nearby cafés and shops in the center.
Also before I forget. The showers were amazing with tons of pressure for a good shower and the AC in the rooms were amazing.

The staff is wonderful, very attentive and always very polite and friendly. The location is just in the center of the city and it’s the only hotel I’ve found that offers valet parking right at the door. The corridor and courtyards are all beautifully decorated with a colonial style.
The rooms might be a little sparce and the linens a little older but a everything is always clean and working. If the room is just to sleep and shower because you will be exploring the city, this hotel is just right. This was our 4th stay and hopefully we will come back many more times.

Loved my stay here, it is right in the center of everything. There’s plenty of eatery, shopping and activities to do nearby. Such as theaters (corral de la comedia, teatro matamoros, teatro Ocampo de Morelia etc.) there is lots of cafes and fun bars with karaoke and plenty of beautiful parks and the zoo is also nearby in car 10min walking about 25min. Location is perfect nearby a lot- for both those who travel with adults or with children. The only downfall is the restroom there is no ventilation and the shower door does not fully so when you do shower there’s a mess on the floor but can be easily dried up. Staff also very accommodating. Would return back to this hotel.
