on arrival we were shown to a newly refurbished room where there was free bottles of water and wine by friendly members of the family. Ours was not a spacious studio but it had everything we needed and over our stay it was cleaned daily.
The free buffet breakfast had plenty of variety and was served in the immaculate pool bar, a lovely start to the day.
The pool (which is an optical illusion when viewed from above) and its surroundings are superb. spacious, plenty of sunbeds and not closed in by buildings which makes it a restful place.
It is quite a distance from the beach but close in the very attractive old town.
We would choose this hotel again.

Quiet Hotel in Malia Old Town

Good location in Malia Old Town - rooms average - beds low and quite uncomfortable - excellent buffet breakfast - was told check out time was 10am and not 12 noon as stated when I booked - this upset quite a few other guests . Food and drink quite expensive.

I personally did not enjoy the Malia area as it was too touristy and lots of heavy partying area.
However, I would definitely recommend this hotel as it was one of the best in the Malia area if you are staying there.

A gem of a find

We've just arrived back from a 10 day stay at the Kristalli. I was very dubious about staying so near to Malia but my worries were unfounded. This is a family run business and they are all absolutely lovely- I can't praise them enough. They are all friendly and helpful and the hotel is quiet set in Old Malia, not far from the madness of Malia if that's what you want. We didn't and there were lovely taverna's near by and only a few minutes drive away you are in the tranquil mountain setting with picturesque villages, monastries and caves. There are beaches nearby and the best one we went to is Potamos beach which is quiet and sandy with clear blue water. This is about a 10/15 minute walk away.

Friendly, accommodating staff

I was staying on my own as part of a wedding party spread over various hotels. As such I was in and out of the Kristalli at odd times, which was always handled well - on my first night I checked in at 4am with a friendly welcome and no problems. The staff were always on hand, especially at breakfast, or around the pool bar if I needed food, drinks, or a taxi. The food from the pool bar was very good, and the hotel grounds were well-kept. My room was fairly simple, but clean. The other guests were mostly couples and families who were well-behaved and friendly. On-site parking is also available if you need to hire a car. But it was a short walk to the beautiful Malia old town (around 7 minutes if you know where you're going) and it's certainly possible to walk or take a taxi to the beach or bars and clubs on the main strip.
Thank you George and Katerina for a lovely relaxing holiday. This is a very nice little family-run hotel if you want somewhere fairly quiet near the old town but with access to the nightlife.

Wonderfull appartments, not easy to get to.

We stayed for 1 night and got very nice and comfort appartment. The view is fantastic and the room is very comfortable. Need to improve the signs from the main road to the location. The way from the main road to the locations is a little bit hard to drive.

Although we didnt particurlarly like Malia we really loved our accommodation. We got off the bus and asked some locals where the hotel is and turned out we were asking the night security guard from the hotel and he kindly offered us a lift. We checked in and had our room upgraded and free bottle of wine waiting in the room on arrival which was a nice touch. As Malia is orientated toward british party goers the breakfast at the hotel was catered towards them but was still very good and reasonably priced. The hosts were fantastic, very friendly and a good laugh at the bar. This hotel is great value for money and would reccomend to anyone staying in Malia. If only it was in a nicer part of Crete!

Schönes und ruhiges Hotel, nicht zu viele Zimmer und damit nicht zu sehr überlaufen. Sehr nette Gastgeber, gepflegte Außenanlagen. Es werden am Pool Liegen, Schirme und auch Spielzeug für die Kinder, Bälle etc. zur Verfügung gestellt.
Das W-LAN funktioniert leider nur eingeschränkt und die Reichweite geht nicht in alle Zimmer. Die Ausstattung der Küchenzeile ist relativ sparsam, für die meisten Zwecke aber ausreichend.

Wir hatten einen insgesamt sehr schönen Urlaub.

Personnel agréable et aux petits soins. L établissement est très bien entretenu.

Sehr schöne Aparthotelanlage am Ortsrand

Wir hatten ein Studio im einzigen Gebäude auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite mit Garten- bzw. Bergblick. Vorteil: Hinten war es etwas ruhiger, denn auf der Straße ist oft viel Verkehr. Das Studio und generell die Anlage sind sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind aber nicht schalldicht. Leider fallen die Zimmertüren ins Schloss und unter der Tür ist ein größerer Spalt, sodass man die \"Nachtschwärmer\" hört und diese selten Rücksicht nehmen und sehr laut sind. Wer Ruhe sucht, sollte im hinteren Teil mit schönem Garten und Palmen ein Appartment buchen. Die verschiedenen Gebäude verteilen sich um den Pool, im hinteren Teil sowie eines auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite. Es gibt genügend Liegen. Den Pool haben wir aber nicht benutzt, da wir ein Mietauto hatten und damit zu verschiedenen Stränden fuhren. Der Strand in Malia ist fußläufig ca. 25 Minuten entfernt. In der Nähe gibt es sehr gute Tavernen - z.B. Queen und Milos sind sehr zu empfehlen! Mietauto kann ich nur empfehlen und damit die nähere Umgebung erkunden....

empfehlenswertes Hotel, vor allem für junge Leute

Wir haben nur eine Nacht dort verbracht und waren insgesammt recht zufrieden.
Obwohl das Hotel von vielen jungen Leuten besucht wird, war es sehr ruhig, das Zimmer ausreichend groß und sehr sauber.
Es gibt einen kleinen Pool, das Frühstücksbuffet wird an der Poolbar aufgebaut und ist in Ordnung.
Die Feiermeile ist fußläufig erreichbar, das ist für Menschen, die enormen Trubel wollen wichtig, im Hotel kehrt ab 21:00 Uhr mehr Ruhe ein.
Es gibt einen hoteleigenen Parkplatz und die Freundlichkeit des Personals ist hervorzuheben.
Fazit:
Das Hotel ist empfehlenswert, wenn man im Urlaub abends feiern möchte.
Leider muss die Klimaanlage seperat bezahlt werden, bei der Preisklasse sollte diese jedoch schon inkludiert sein.

Super Lage, sehr freundliche Besitzer

Beide Appartments waren wie neu renoviert und boten je zwei Personen genügend Platz. Schöne kleine private Terrassen vor den Ap. Wunderbares Frühstück am Pool mit viel Obst und Griechischem Yoghurt, verschieden Eiern jeden Tag, div. Broten, Müsli, Käse, Wurst, und wechselndem süßen Gebäck. Zu Fuß kann man die nette Altstadt schnell erreichen. Kleines Geschäft gleich in der Nähe, Parkplatz direkt an der Anlage. Unbedingt zu Tabepna Milos Essen gehen (bitte reservieren, ist immer voll) und zu Nostimo beide ganz wunderbare Restaurants. Unser Zimmer befand sich im Innenhof, das der Kinder zur Straßenseite, aber sie haben nie über Lärm geklagt. Die gesamte Anlage wurde ständig gereinigt und das Personal war stets freundlich und zurückhaltend um einen nicht zu stören. Auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert. An der Hauptstraße verkaufen ältere Damen Bananen aus ihrem Garten, die schmecken viel besser, als wir sie je im Supermarkt bekommen.

Très bon séjour

Joli petit hôtel dans le vieux Malia loin de l'ambiance festive de la ville et proche des bonnes tavernes.
Un accueil plus que parfait avec une attention toute particulière pour les enfants.
Les appartements sont très bien agencés très propres et l'extèrieur est très agréable avec sa piscine et son restaurant/snack où l'on peut manger à tout heure. Petit déjeuner très correct.
Petit bémol sur la qualité des matelas qui sont bien trop fermes à mon goût..

Nice hotel away from the noisy part of Malia

Friendly staff, nice pool area with sunbeds for all. Was a lot of young people but still it was very quiet at night. If we come back to Malia we would stay there again.

Nice new apartment with a good pool

We stayed for 3 nights in a nice new and big apartment. Good airco and a good bathroom. although we arrived late the staff was very nice and helped us right away when we could not get the airco to work. It has a good pool and a nice pool bar where you can have a decent breakfast, lunch and dinner. The prices are normal. It is a little far from the beach but you can still walk there.

Nous avons séjourné 9 jours (du 14 au 22 octobre 2016) dans cet appart'hôtel confortable. Le ménage était fait tous les jours, les draps étaient changés pareillement.
Petit déjeuner buffet copieux, connexion wifi excellente.
L'extérieur des bâtiments est très bien entretenu (pelouses, fleurs, piscine).
Le personnel est très convivial avec les clients,
Le patron nous a fait visiter avec fierté son verger et potager, une partie de sa récolte est servie au petit déjeuner.
Nous sommes très satisfaits de notre séjour dans cet hôtel

Sono stata in questo hotel/apartments nel mese di agosto per quattro giorni con il mio ragazzo è un'altra coppia nel complesso M sono trovata bene tra le cose positive il personale cordiale e disponile le stanze ben arredate invece tra le cose che Nn mi sono piaciute la pulizia delle stanze viene fatta in maniera superficiale e L 'aria condizionata non funzionava bene o comunque solo con tutte le finestre sigillate,per non parlare della colazione l'ansia del nostro soggiorno il primo giorno abbiamo ritsrdato solo 5minuti è già C era il ragazzo del bar\"unico non cordiale\"che picchiettava il polso facendoci notare l'orario e osservava ogni nostra mossa come se non avessi pagato per usufruire al buffet che poi la colazione era ripetitiva e Nn C'era una grande varietà di scelta.Poi la piscina era piccola e c'era una grande quantità di gente mentre l'altra piscina più grande era chiusa infine posso dire che nonostante queste pecche il posto è situato vicino il centro e ogni cosa è' facilmente raggiungibile .

Sauber, freundlich, rundherum gut!

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, die Aussenanlagen sind sehr gepflegt. Unser Appartement war sehr geräumig. Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde auf der überdachten Poolterasse angeboten. Das Angebot war in Ordnung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden definitiv noch ein weiteres Mal dorthin fahren.

Ruhiges, sehr geschmackvolles Hotel.

Wir hatten unseren Urlaub zusammen mit einem Mietwagen gebucht, um uns den besten Strand zu suchen und die Insel mit ihren vielen schönen Plätzen zu erkunden. Das Hotel sollte ruhig liegen und am Abend Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar sein, damit wir beide den guten griechischen Wein genießen konnten.
Unser Hotel hat all unsere Erwartungen erfüllt, es ist sehr sauber, ordentlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, der Hotelchef hat immer Zeit für ein paar nette Worte und gute Tips für Ausflüge.
Das Frühstück war reichlich und lecker, sogar mit lecker Körnerbrot und gutem Filterkaffee, leider ein wenig eintönig.
Unser Zimmer war sehr geschmackvoll und modern eingerichtet, alles in bestem Zustand, sogar eine komplett eingerichtete Küchenzeile.
Mit der Klimaanlage hatten wir ein wenig zu kämpfen, um die richtige Temparatur zu finden, hat aber dann doch geklappt.
Das Bad hätte ein wenig gründlicher geputzt werden können, aber da alles andere perfekt war, kann man darüber hinweg sehen.
Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Urlaub, wir würden sofort wieder hin gehen.

relaxing hotel away from the party mile

We were looking for a relaxing holiday and that's certainly what we found at Kristalli. We are in our 40s and weren't really sure how it would be being surrounded by so many people under twenty. It was fine. Mornings the pool and breakfast area were empty as all the youngsters were recovering from the night before. As they slowly emerged from the darkness there was simply a relaxed fun atmosphere poolside. The only time when there was sometimes a problem with noise was when the kids were all getting ready to go out between 10 and midnight. There is a midnight curfew which is strictly enforced.
Malia is a real party resort but the mad activity is confined to a long strip leading down to the beach. Kristalli hotel is far away from that scene. It was great just lying by the pool staring across at the mountains.

Un accueil on ne peut plus chaleureux!

Nous sommes arrivés à l'hôtel en milieu d'après midi, la chambre qui nous a été octroyé dans un 1er temps n'était vraiment pas super (lits simples que l'on ne pouvait pas rapprocher, sdb pas terrible...). Nous avons donc demander une chambre avec lit double mais ils n'en avaient aucune dans l'hôtel.
Cependant la très gentille dame qui s'occupe de la réception a réussi à nous trouver une chambre (qui venait tout juste de se libérer) rénovée récemment avec des lits simples mis l'un à côté de l'autre et une super sdb! Ce qui a changer l'avis qu'on se faisait de l'hôtel en voyant la 1ère chambre!

L'Hôtel est assez grand mais très agréable, surtout la piscine et le bar/restaurant (délicieux!!) attenant. Les propriétaires sont incroyablement gentils et attentionnés. Je ne recommande pas la ville de Malia en elle même, elle n'a pas vraiment d’intérêt, mais cet hôtel est vraiment top et c'est un bon point de départ pour visiter Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga, Plaka, etc.

Schönes Hotel mit toller Aussicht

Als wir angekommen sind wurden wir herzlich von dem Personal begrüßt.
Das Apartment war sauber und die Anlage war sehr ruhig. Für einen entspannten Familienurlaub ist es sehr passend. Das Frühstück war nicht sehr abwechslungsreich aber im großen und ganzem war es gut.

Excellent hôtel, avec un personnel adorable

Très bien situé, puisque la ville de Malia est accessible en 5mn à pieds, et suffisamment en retrait pour être au calme. La chambre était très propre et toute neuve avec clim. L'hôtel est construit autour de la piscine ou le bar vous propose de quoi vous rafraichir. Le point important à souligner c'est la sympathie du personnel, toujours à l'écoute et plein de bons conseils sur les endroits à visiter en Crète.
