A night in Stavern
Stayed at the historic Hotel Wassilioff in beautiful Stavern during easter 2021. Got an free upgrade to a seaside room with nice view of the harbour. The room was spacious with all the amenities for a 4 star hotel. Had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. Also got a late check out free of charge. Very helpful staff. I can reccomend this to all travelers staying a night in Stavern.

Unique Old World hotel. Comfy beds, bathroom met our needs. Receptionist was extremely helpful and helped make our stay just that much better. Restaurant is pricey but the portions we had for the 1 meal we had there were huge. Breakfast was great. Last but not least was the view from our room. Gorgeous morning and night.

Likely the best option in the area.
Likely the best option in the area. The sea view room itself was fine for size, but the bathroom was a little tight for space. Could really only fault minor things like light globes out, bathroom floor heating not working and flat batteries in TV remote; all of which were a slight irritation rather than a problem. Appreciated the comfy bed and good breakfast.

This hotel id definitely NOT 4 star. I stay in about 70 - 100 hotels each year, and this would be one of the worst. My room was in the attic on level 3, there was no lift, so had to lug suitcases up stairs, internet did not work well and by morning not at all, bathroom tiny, many corners in room and bathroom due to roof lines (attic room), phone didn't work so had to walk down stairs every time wanted to talk to reception, hotel generally old and tired, although quaint sort of and in good location.

Hyggelig hotell i Stavern som oppfyller inntrykket av å være **** . Hotellet og rommene er gamle men modernisert . Vi hadde rom med utsikt over sjøen. Rommet var romslig med god seng og godt med skapplass. Det var også en liten sittegruppe og både minibar og tv. Badet var knøttlite og så trangt at døra subber borti vasken når den skal åpnes og lukkes. Det er en liten hylle til å sette fra seg ting men alt for liten etter min smak. Jeg brukte vel nesten 10 min på å få varmtvann i dusjen og det er for dårlig. Jeg holdt på å gi opp. Frokosten rakk jeg ikke å teste, det var tross alt hverdag selv om det var midt i romjulen. Men alt i alt et fint hotell med glimrende beliggenhet.

Hotellrommet var for såvidt bra. Vi booket to dobbeltrom på samme bestilling, og fikk vesentlig forskjell i romstørrelse, men prisen var den samme. Drøy pris for en overnatting. Det trengs også en kraftig oppussing flere steder på hotellet, som trekker ned helhetsinntrykket. Hyggelig betjening, men ikke så oppmerksomme. God mat og vin, både i Palmehaven og Excellensen.

Vi opplevde mus i veggen som til tider( også på natten) skapte mye støy. Frokost og middag i restauranten var veldig bra. Lite betjening av baren. Vi måtte be dem komme flere ganger. Det så vi også andre gjøre. Beliggenheten er upåklagelig, men hadde forventet et totalt bedre opphold.

Var der to netter i forbindelse med begravelse og familiebesøk. Hotellet er en liten kulturopplevelse i seg selv. Historien sitter i veggene - og det er imponerende at de greier å holde så god kvalitet på driften gjennom det som definitivt er "lavsesong" ute mot havgapet.

Vi bodde én natt i et superior-rom, og ble dessverre skuffet. Rommet var fint, men ganske lite. Det hadde ingen ventilasjon/ air-condition, noe som gjorde det vanskelig å få sove etter en varm dag. Når man velger å oppgradere til superior-rom, forventes det at det er litt ekstra, f.eks at det finnes gode toilettartikler på badet. Det fantes faktisk ikke noe så elementært som en håndsåpe på badet engang! Det eneste som sto på vasken var to små flasker med bodylotion. Sengene hadde ikke spesielt god liggekomfort, altfor harde. Frokosten var god og hadde godt utvalg, og hotellet har en veldig fin og sentral beliggenhet. Så, alt i alt en ok minus opplevelse, men ikke verdt summen overnattingen kostet!
