We were looking for a single night stay for my daughter as she travelled to meet up with a school group. Hotel Golf was convenient, comfortable and safe. It was an easy commute from the Florence airport and offered quick access to the train station.

Hotel was located close to the train station and about a 10 minute walk to the Duomo & Ponte Vecchio. Irvin at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast mediocre but all in all a good value considering the prices in Florence. room was very clean and quiet. would stay here again.

Marco was friendly and explained a lot my first night there.
Street is fairly busy during the day, you could use the traffic noise as an alarm clock. Room away from the front might be better.
Breakfast was good with a nice selection of pastries.
Comfortable bed, and good hot water in the bathroom.

The hotel was very adequate and the location was good. The only issue we had was there was no air conditioning in the room. The window in the room was locked so we could get no air. The housekeeper brought us a fan, which helped. We were surprised when housekeeping freshen up our room on Day 2. - which we didn’t expect. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of food. Overall, a good hotel.

Convenient parking, but not sure to get a spot, we always seemed to get the last spot. Ok breakfast, but no eggs/bacon, only hard boiled eggs. Internet slow, it's time to upgrade it. Good roomy rooms. Overall a very good value in Florence. Recommended.

The location near the station is also good for those arriving by train, it's a shame there was nothing nearby but it was always necessary to return to the center.

This hotel made me seriously doubt the ratings

Hotels like these make me seriously doubt the ratings on Hotels.com. An 8.2 for what?

A highly overpriced hotel - during the same week i stayed at 4 star hotel in La Spezia and a 5 star hotel in Rome for a daily rate less than this 3 star hotel.

Very basic breakfast - No fruits or vegetables. Bread and croissants were either over done or under done to the point where you can't eat. One tart of 1 square inch is the only sweet option. Boiled eggs and a few sorry looking cold cuts - make up the rest of the table.

Towels are laid on a stool a feet away from the WC, one flush without closing the lid and the spray from the flush will end up on your towels and potentially your face when you use the towel.

Only one pillow per person on the bed.

One can hear the street noises and the train noises even with the external and internal windows closed.

B&B's make more effort than this hotel does.

All in all a disappointment

It was only about 10 minutes from the train station, by tram only about 3 minutes - exactly what was stated in the promo. The breakfast was fine and the staff (Marco) very helpful, even changing our room after having a noisy neighbour without any fuss. The room was large with a good aircon and the bathroom was clean. Yes, we would stay here again.

Room was basic but functional. Good for a short stay. We stayed three nights to visit Florence and found the staff friendly and breakfast was more than adequate and really set us up for the day. Five minute walk to the train station and 15 minutes into city centre.

It couldn't have been worse. The olny reason i booked this hotel was the free parking spot that was advertised for it as well. And the biggest disappointment is that you are not garanteed one. So as all others who have booked this hotel have a car as well, cause there is no other reason you'd book it, you basically wont find one easy, if you did and you decided you want yo take your car out and back, you dedinilty won't. So you have to go and find a garage or a spot on the street where you have to wake up at 8am and put money in the meters.
Another weird thing, at breakfast there was only one table available, went to sit there and they told me that it was reserved. Who reserves a breakfast table at a 3 star hotel! So we had to wait untill somone finished to sit. And by the time we were done, that same table was still reserved for no one.

We opened the door to our room and went wow what a great room. It was very spacious and clean with great block out curtains. Staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful and a fantastic variety of foods on offer. The hotel was an easy walk from the train station with luggage and a safe area to return to at nighttime.

The staff was great and very friendly. Room was nice. We had a handicap room which was bigger so that was nice but the room needed some repairs. The glass shower door had been broken and it had just been tapped over. One of the toilet flush buttons didn’t work. Our room faced a very busy street so it was VERY noisy.

Unpleasant experience. Hotel advertised as free parking, there was no parking available. The staff directed us to park across the street at pay parking, no spots available there either.
Found out they only have about 15 parking spots and over 50 rooms.
There is a great chance most of their guests are getting screwed too.
Wi-fi never worked in the room, barely worked at the reception desk.
My advice, stay away from them, false advertising

Horrible!!!!!!!!!!! Run and never stay here!!!! The room and continental breakfast was ok but their rudeness ruined our entire stay!!! The person in front was rude and asked for our passports to check in and that it would take minutes and he would return them. When I asked why he yelled at me that he would return them. The food last for breakfast was extremely rude and yelled at me to sit down and eat breakfast. The entire stay was horrible and ruined 2 days in Florence. We got another hotel around the corner that was excellent!!! The Londra which I highly recommend!!

My only regret of my Florence experience.

I booked this hotel because its proximity to the train station, but hotel fell short on my expectations.
This is more like a bed and breakfast hotel. Do not expect nothing else.
Also not good for lodging beyond 2 days because the limited amenities and not serviceable front desk staff.
These is an old building been remodeled, but still have the smell of an old house and no sound isolation inside your room, you can hear every noise coming out of your room.

Private parking is an issue in this hotel, as there are a number of guests (perhaps because of the ZTL) arriving with cars and there are not enough spots - especially if for evening check-ins. Otherwise, this is just an average hotel.

I chose this hotel because of the parking, since it’s a luxury in Florence. Unfortunately, I found the parking always full in the 3 nights I spent in the hotel and had to park outside, in a very difficult road.
The hotel itself is not a 3 star:
the room smelled like smoke (which made me very uncomfortable since I am asthmatic), no place for the toilette paper or curtains for the bath tub, bed sheets had big holes and not always changed; on top of all that, there were mosquitos (!) in the room, which bite me over the 3 nights. Poor breakfast and no enough tables for the big hotel (had to go back to my room one day because I could not sit). Overall, a very bad experience. Not recommended.

Hotel was located within 10 minute walk from the station and within easy walking distance for all main sites. The hotel is fairly modern , clean and tidy and provides a good breakfast. We had booked a twin room and double room both of which were a reasonable standard. There was a slight smell from drains in the bathroom on one if the rooms on one night.

There are a couple of good restaurants close by opposite the station.

Overall this was a good experience for a two night stay.

If you are driving and coming up the A1, don't let the Garmin direct you to the south Florence exit like it did us - you will end up driving all the way around the city to get to the hotel (on the north end) - and you will end up on the wrong side of the street with no way to get to the hotel. Take the exit on the east side of town and take Ss67 a mile or two right to the front door. Warning - there is NOWHERE to pull over in front of the hotel entrance. When you get there, park on the sidewalk in front of the parking lot gate (almost always closed) and send someone in to the desk to get them to open it. We left the car in the lot the whole time we were there and walked everywhere - it is very difficult to navigate a car anywhere around the historic district and you can be fined A LOT if you wander down the wrong street. Location was great for walking..and the rates were very reasonable. Our room was on the ground floor in the front. Didn't see anything of the other rooms toward the back.

We booked solely on the reviews of others. While this place was good for $95USD/night, I wouldn't pay more than that. Convenient from Firenze SMN, a bit of a walk to the historical district. Room was clean, paint was scuffed and peeling on the ceiling, but not terribly, breakfast was very \"meh,\" and the staff wasn't friendly, but maintained professionalism. If you do stay here or around here, Il Portale served the best Bisteca Florentina Ive ever had.

We enjoyed the ambience. The neighborhood was okay. We were able to walk everywhere - so when tired, we got a taxi, which was quick. The hotel was good. The staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but cozy; felt so authentic, we didn't mind. The showers, a bit too small. We felt the breakfast totally adequate. The wi-fi, hit and miss. We were very glad we chose this hotel. We would use it again, and recommend it - or maybe try another.

This hotel is very close (walking distance) to the main train station. It is not in the heart of the busy district but a close 15 minute walk. We chose is for it's proximity to the train station and it's price. The building is well maintained and the room while small was very clean. The staff was friendly and the included breakfast was ok.

The hotel was clean, the colour scheme of the room very pretty. The only complaint I have is that the hair dryer blew out air smelling of cigarette smoke... I couldn't dry my long hair after showering. The room was VERY spacious, a definite plus for 2 girls with large suitcases. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are on a bit of a tighter budget.

The hotel is very located for Fortezza de Basso which is where I was attending a trade show. It is literally a 10 minute walk there in one direction. In the other direction it's a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. It is on a fairly busy road so if you don't like too much noise it is not a hotel for you. Fortunately the rooms towards the back of the hotel were quieter for my one night stay. The staff were pleasant and spoke good English. The room was simple, clean and very reasonably priced but the breakfast was disappointing and quite limited. I would have very much enjoyed a full breakfast.

this was our second time to stay at Hotel Golf. The hotel is nice enough; however, we chose it again as it has a secure parking area. The location is a good 15-20 minute walk to central Florence, so location is not too bad. Facilities were nice; breakfast decent, but the staff was not friendly. If you drive there, but sure to have good directions as the directions given in their website is not at all adequate nor accurate.

Close to Train Station and Downtown

Spent a couple nights here while experiencing Florence for the first time with my wife. We took the train up from Rome and the hotel is a short, less than ten minute walk. Along the way on the left side of the road before the \"Y\" in the road are some nice reasonably priced restaurants which are probably better priced than right in town. Actually we had some of our best meals there, and some nights the places were packed!

If you feel the need to be right in town, in the thick of things, you will probably pay the price and more for a comparable hotel. The breakfast was decent and got us going each morning. The wifi was fast and room comfortable enough; who spends much time in the room anyway?

The staff were all pretty good, Marco the most animated and fun. I asked, why the \"Golf\" name? Even though there is a golf ball attached to the room keys that you leave at reception (kind of old-school), the owners I guess just liked a short, simple name for a hotel. *shrug* Hey, it works!

There is also a large-ish supermarket where you can get provisions if needed; beer, wine, water, veggies, fruit, really anything. If facing the front of the train station it is to the right, across another street. This should not to be confused with the large, large building market, old-school type where you have butcher stalls, produce stalls and the like. There are also a couple stalls serving up hot meals; a great place for a reasonably priced lunch with many locals eating here too.

Closer to the city centre than I was expecting. However it is on a one way system so hard to access by car if you don't know your way around. Complimentary car park is tiny and was locked when I arrived (10pm). Plus side there is street parking which is free 8am-8pm. The hotel room was nice. English channels on tv would have been nice. Light in bathroom got very hot.

The hotel is ok, but not perfect.We booked it because of the vicinity of city centre and free parking. Anyhow we had to argue with hotel staff for a parking lot at arrival and also for a better room (the first we were offerd was a small and noisy one on the steetfront side)

The room was clean and ok. Breakfast was also reaonable. Overall the hotel is acceptabele and very well located.

As another person mentioned in their review, this hotel is helpful for parking as parking is very expensive in Florence. However, do expect to have to fight for a parking space as the parking is not guaranteed and whilst they say that there is parking on the road outside, it is meter parking and extremely expensive. If you are looking for a new, clean hotel with a good breakfast this hotel is definitely not for you.

We visited Florence and chose this hotel due to the good reviews online. The hotel lived up to expectations. It was close to the train station, was in walking distance (15 min) from downtown and had good rooms. The rooms looked like they were recently renovated. The hotel staff is nice and always willing to help. The included breakfast was great and it was worth choosing a hotel that included the breakfast. Would come back again.

For the room rates we got, this was a very good deal!! One small thing, during our stay, the hotel was having an issue with their WiFi hence, we had no internet connection. Open windows invite small flying insects.

Over rated hotel

Reception Klerk was very rood, rooms are mostly very OLD and I had to ask them to change it because the AC didn't work! Over all I would not recommend

good location for arrival by car/walking to sights

WiFi was out one of the days of our stay. Free parking was a nice plus. Location generally good for walking to sights as well as arriving by car. Our triple room in back was large enough, nice and quiet (except for the neighbors one night). Breakfast was not extensive, but adequate.

Great hotel for couples and singles.

the hotel has small rooms and small bathrooms, but the windows have double panes so the noise from the street is negligible, also the bathrooms are recently remodeled. Small tv screen but OK when you come back tired from a day walk. The biggest advantage is a private parking so you arrive from the expressway direct to the hotel and forget about parkings, very expensive in Florence. Also the vicinity to the railway station if you have friends coming to meet you is a plus. From the hotel you take a very quiet road behind the hotel,also safe at night and you walk exactly ten minutes to get to the pedestrian area of Florence. Close to the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio. I recommend Osteria dell'Oste very close to the hotel where you will enjoy the best beef steak \"fiorentina\" at reasonable bill with good Chianti. Breakfast in the hotel offers a good variety of items. Complimentary Wi-Fi in the rooms.
And the hotel price is fantastic compared with other hotels in same area.

Near to rail and bus and 10 minutes walking into the heart of Florence. And when we asked for a nice restaurant close by on a very rainy night, front desk personnel provided us the name and location. Met our needs!

Pleasant stay

The rooms were small but clean and quiet. It was close to the train station and we were easily able to walk to all the attractions from the hotel. The staff was very helpful arranging day trips from Florence and recommending a wonderful restaurant nearby. The breakfast included hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, various rolls and croissants, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice and coffee, and was tasty. Although internet access was available we were not able connect to it.
