When you first walk in all you can smell is chlorine, and mold. Pool was green, kids got a rash. Wouldn't stay there again.

There is no noise isolation within the room. You can very easily hear noise coming in from the hall and the adjacent room(s).

On the plus side, the rooms are clean, they give you complimentary water, and the inn is connected to a decent restaurant, for which you are given a breakfast credit.

The beds were blood stained the floors covered in hair that was in my hair. The bathroom floor was head burned marks in it the tub in the shower, dirty there’s no staff after town. It wasn’t a very good experience, but it was the only place to stay to see my mom in the hospital so it is what it is not impressed would like a refund. I have pictures, but I do not know how to upload them.

Rooms were fine as expected. Very disappointed that the hotel refused to accommodate our noontime checkout request both at check in and morning of check out. It would have made a huge difference to our group. We also had a traveller in our group with a food allergy who couldn’t eat in the restaurant to be able to use the breakfast vouchers provided.

Well the pool was cloudy? It looked like swamp water. Same with the jacuzzi, it was gross looking. The sauna was pretty run down, the knob was broken so they must of turned it off and on with pliers?? Also there were cobwebs in the sauna and the rocks had no guard on them. The rooms beds were “flimsy” they felt like they would fall apart. The room fridge was wonky and you couldn’t put anything that may spill in it. The heater worked but the fan was wonky. Then there was breakfast so they gave us Tim’s cards instead. This was so not worth it.

The Claymore calls itself an upscale hotel, but it's really kind of average, and a little worn around the edges. Having said that, it's clean, comfortable, quiet, and reasonably priced. The staff is helpful, polite, and available at need.

The free breakfast, for us, is the deal clincher. Breakfast is a $15 chit for the Justamere bakery and restaurant, which serves a wonderful variety of breakfast dishes. Some are more than $15, but you can get a traditional bacon-and-eggs breakfast for free, which includes wonderful home fries, their own toasted fresh bread, and a large selection of coffees.

The property was in a great location close to some shopping and dining. It was a 15 minute walk to main street. The staff were friendly and helpful. Responded quickly when I let them know the tub did not drain properly. The $15 credit for the onsite restraurant was nice. The restaurant, however, was not the greatest.

Room was probably the noisiest room ever in 50 years of international travel. An ice machine, a vending machine and a stairway access door were literally right outside our door. The ice machine was not enclosed and was located right in the hallway. The ice machine in particular was just ridiculously loud, humming all night with loud bangs every time it was used which was frequently. Combined with a loose fitting door with a large gap at the bottom (that I attempted to fill with a bath mat) created a very lousy sleeping experience. Attached restaurant next door was quite good but $15 “free breakfast” voucher was pretty skimpy and didn’t cover the full cost of the least expensive hot breakfast. Not a good experience to say the least!

Hotel is a bit dated, but rooms are clean. Soap dispensers at sink and in shower - so if you like a bar of soap, bring your own.
Check in was slow, so bring your patience.

Our room was located at the end of the hall, furthest from the elevator and beside the ice and drink machine.
Overall, the hotel needed a good scrubbing and a facelift. The furniture was worn, stained and out of date.
Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and the serving staff were friendly and accommodating.
The first 2 floors of the hotel housed permanent residents. They had assigned laundry times. The laundry room was not available the night we stayed there.

Did a quick overnighter here. There was a pizza place within walking distance. The hotel was clean and the staff was great. Bathroom in the room could have been cleaned better. A little mold in the tub area. Probably needs an update. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bonus was the breakfast. We got a 15 voucher for the attached restaurant/bakery. Great food choices. Extra bonus. You could buy farm eggs, breads, cookies and numerous amazing desserts.

Went for a getaway to relax and to get away from the wildfire smoke here in N.S. Advertized pool,sauna,hot tub....Told out of order after we were checked in and settled in. The pool,hot tub and sauna were why we decided to stay at the Claymore!...Then went to watch tv and could not get channels so hotspotted to phone and clerk came up beating on our door. Opened door and she barged in telling us to turn down tv...I wiĺl never in my life stay there again...There are hotels in the area that are over 100 dollars cheaper as well....Very upset and dissatisfied... Felt like we were criminals...Just horrible! Restaurant had good service but bathroom pooper was out of order and very,very dirty urinals...Do not stay here!!!!!!

The Claymore is in a great location, close to STFX University, the local mall and a couple of restaurants. I had no issues with the staff at the Claymore. They were very friendly, and the room I had was clean.

The hotel has obviously had some recent updates to the hallways, but visitors should know the rooms are very dated. The bathrooms in particular are long overdue for a refresh, requiring updated fixtures and new towels. I could accept this situation if it was offered at a discount, but the hotel is in the same price range as other properties in the region that are much newer/updated facilities.

Extortionate price for a very run down property. Surprised that such a large hotel wouldn’t have 24 hour onsite clerk when 100% sold out. The bed covers weren’t clean and the bathrooms are so run down it’s actually hard to tell if they are clean or not. Add in peeling wallpaper and loose asbestos tile in the stairwell and I’m thrilled to have spent almost $300 per night.

The woman at the front desk overheard my daughter ask me if we packed her swimming goggles (oops, we didn’t) and offered her a pair to borrow. The pool was clean and well maintained.
