Buffet breakfasts were great. Rooms were clean. Our rooms were in a construction area of the resort. A few staff were happy and cheerful but many seemed down and intolerant of guests (we experienced a few staff members snatch menus from us after we ordered and expressing attitude towards us for just ordering drinks (without food) for afternoon tea). The meals and drinks are quite expensive and in smaller portions when compared to other resorts in Samoa. Our room had a TV and DVD player that didn't work and wasn't fixed during our stay (even after asking reception). We had some extra meals added on our tab when checking out (luckily reception sorted this out with us). The resort is close to the Sua Trench and Turtle Island.

The breakfast had lots of fresh local fruits, with fresh muffins, eggs and many other things to choose from. We really enjoyed the ocean swimming, and the pool. We did not spend much time at the pool because we do not drink. This resort offers a poolside bar and most patrons hung out there, we preferred the beach. The weather was perfect. We definitely will return in the future.

Saletoga was great, very clean/modern rooms, very nice staff and owner, pristine beach, nice pool with cocktail bar, free use of kayaks, and masks (BYO if you have one as the free masks aren't great, but to be expected for free gear).

*Do not pay extra to book breakfast with hotels.com.* We paid extra only to find out breakfast is complimentary to all guests. Hotels.com snubbed my complaint which is very disappointing. This negative feedback reflects on hotels.com rather than the hotel itself!

Complimentary wifi is only available in the main restaurant (and I believe reception). It was nice to disconnect though and there was a library of hundreds of DVDs for guests to borrow!

Was a beautiful stay at Saletoga. Resort, rooms and amenities were awesome. Breakfast was a let down as it was the same thing every day and we stayed 5 days.
Let down was the customer service. Staff were polite but would suggest more training. We would often sit in reception area as this was one area best for wifi connection. But this was the same area staff would check in and out for the day. As we could understand the language, one morning house keeping staff had turned up late and were spoken to by management in the reception area where guests (us) were sitting.
Staff cleaning up in dining area would be cleaning up tables and talking to each other from one end of the dining area to the other about inappropriate things. Again for those who couldn’t understand the language wouldn’t be any wiser, but for us who could understand, it was very unprofessional for resort staff.
Again, we had a beautiful stay at Saletoga but suggest that your staff have more customer service training to treat ALL guests the same not special treatment for the “non Samoan” guests.

I would stay here again. There's a few things that could be improved but the price is so cheap that it's hard to complain. Wi-Fi in the room would be great but the rooms are amazing... or rather the view and the environment . If your bungalow isn't on the ocean you can pull up a chair and sit right out in front of the ocean. Ideal for people who want to read a book or do very little. They have a vegetarian menu which is great. The breakfast buffet isn't anything amazing but if you're flying to Samoa for a breakfast buffet probably should just stay home. We rented one of the hotel cars and drove around the island which was perfect.

The food is far too overpriced as they know there is no other options nearby they make it expensive- we have eaten out in Sydney on New Year’s Eve for less!!
If you book a tour through the hotel it won’t run if you’re the only one on it, because they want the money (over 60NZD to drive for 10 minutes to the To Sua trench!) No tour operators will pick you up from the hotel as it’s too far away…

The staff were nice but constantly forgot our drinks (bottle of water or coke).
The food itself is average, when you’re paying these prices for food you expect it to be better.

Overall the food/amenities are FAR too overpriced- it’s cheaper to eat in NZ and AUS than it is at this resort in SAMOA.

Only reason for four out of five (and this might have been just an off season thing) the pool bar was unmanned randomly part of the time and 4out of five dinners lost something in translation between order and delivery. But still a very enchanting retreat for those just looking to relax in the tropics with infinite kindness, numerous exploratory opportunities and very nice water.

Absolutely loved our stay! Saletoga is such a beautiful resort - perfect for both adults and families. Our rooms were spotless, and housekeeping came by every morning to refresh everything with clean towels and toiletries. The vibe was amazing, the staff were so friendly, and the resort had every amenity you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday.

We stayed right on the beachfront, and the rest of our family was spread across the family section and the garden villas - all the rooms were huge and absolutely stunning.

We were there for 5 days with a big group celebrating our uncle’s birthday, and it honestly couldn’t have been a better place for a family celebration.

This is hands down my favourite place we've stayed in Samoa - and we've stayed at both Sheratons, Tanoa, Taumeasina, Coconuts, and a few of the smaller resorts. Saletoga tops them all!

Thank you, Saletoga, for an unforgettable holiday. We’re already excited to come back!

The resort was just as advertised, thanks for the fantastic room upgrade, that really made our holiday comfortable. Freely available kayaks, snorkeling gear and reed shoes were excellent. The staff were all so friendly kind and helpful, no complaints there.
The resort is quite isolated and far from airport and Apia, but the local taxis are affordable and available. Definitely take a taxi from the airport if there is more than one person in your party, very affordable.
Fantastic breakfasts included and until 10.30!!
The Fiafia night was a great experience and the savoury food was delicious.
The restaurant and bar prices are high, as I believe all are on the island. There isn't anywhere close where you can choose to eat. Having said that the food is delicious and plentiful (mostly). There is a shop close by at the To Sua trench where you can get snacks etc at very reasonable prices.
Taxis will take you for an all day hire for around $350WST, so you can see all the sights for a very low cost.
I'd highly recommend Saletoga Sands Resort for your Samoan holiday.

This place is absolutely beautiful and in a great location. The views and beaches made it even more enjoyable. The food at both restaurants was very good quality and we enjoyed the variety. The complimentary buffet breakfast was great too.
The wait staff were lovely and always greeted us with a smile however, we did find that when we dined at the restaurants at the resort, they didn’t come back at all to check if we needed anything (drinks etc) and I felt like I was being a bother when I did manage to get their attention. They were very quick to collect empty plates from the table but were gone before we had a chance to ask for anything else. We had issues with the hot water in our room (we had no hot water), however this was resolved the day after letting reception know. We were unable to get into the safe in our room and were advised only maintenance could open it for us. We were not advised how to change the code and instructions were not included in the booklet in the room.
Our bathroom had a terrible smell when we arrived and it still smelt when we left. Because I have never been to Samoa, I am not sure if this is to be expected due to the heat.
All in all, it was a wonderful holiday and i would choose to stay here again 😊

Wow, the resort is wonderful as were the staff! Was a great, relaxing holiday.
We stayed 5 nights in a hotel room, was nice enough. The hot water in the shower was iffy but other than that it was adequate and good for the price.
Spent the last two nights in an Exclusive Villa, what a difference. The outdoor shower is amazing (always had hot water) and the room was beautiful. Will skip the hotel room and stay there the entire time next time.
The restaurants were great, the food is delicious and decently priced. The Fiafia night food and show are a must do!

The property was clean, tidy and well maintained. In fact, immaculate. The beach is beautiful and great for snorkelling and the pool and swim up bar is great but the swim up bar closes too early (4pm). The lighting in the rooms is quite dim and aircon can only be used when in the room (key inserted) which means you’re at square one with creating a cool environment every time you return to your accommodation. Food is okay. I feel like this place is on a journey but definitely in the right direction.

We had a Beach front Villa and loved the view of the Lagoon . You felt relaxed and in paradise just listening too and watching the waves break on the reef from the front deck of the Villa. The Coconut trees and sandy beach were majestic. We were only a short stroll past the outdoor pool to the Restaurant . The Breakfast choices was incredible. We worked our way through the Dinner Menu each night and the food was cooked amazing. All the staff on site are so friendly and obliging. The gardens and surrounds are beautiful, it's like living in an Oasis. We can't fault Saletoga Sands Resort and will come back for sure. Highly recommend this Resort.

I booked this resort as it had a high ranking but I didn’t think it deserves that ranking. Our tv and dvd player didn’t work, our shower was constantly cold. Batteries for remotes needed replacing. I was at reception constantly complaining. Also they decided to water blast the roof of our villa. I asked if they could come another day as I wasn’t impressed with the amount I paid to be disrupted by constant noise. They complied but did the villa next door. The staff have little knowledge on things like daily food specials or info on tours. Poor communication and average service from staff. Average resort for the price paid

It takes a lot of effort and determination to run a big property like this.

Perfect for families as there is ample room in the villas. The beach is safe, the pool awesome. The whole property is set up really well and the breakfast wholesome and they try and mix it up a bit.

Food is nicely cooked ( menu is lacking a tad but the breakfast makes up for that ).

Allow just over an hour from the Airport and a rental car is strongly recommended ( albeit they do offer transfers ).

Things that could do with Improvement:
Clithes washing facilities ( to have the resort do it is super expensive ).
Staff spitting into the gardens ( seems to me they are not proud of where they work? ).

All up a very enjoyable stay!

Recommendations;
They are building new facilities outside the hotel rooms but they start work at 7am with hammering, it was not a nice way to wake up each night!

Safe didn’t work, asked 3 times for it to be get the batteries replaced and fixed but no one ever turned up.

If you hire a scooter it is mandatory to use their insurance, regardless if you have your own.

Air conditioning remote was broken and being fixed, so we couldn’t change the settings

The Resort itself is stunning. We had a lovely beachfront Villa. Rooms are a great size, had a amazing outdoor shower but the villas could certainly do with a couch inside and better lighting. They also need to supply more facecloths. Only given one each day for the two of us!The WIFI is absolutely terrible and only works in the reception area and restaurant. The daily breakfast is nice with good options but had to ask staff many times to replace items like spoons and cups as there were none to use. Also the cereals containers empty many times. Most of the staff were lovely, some could use a smile every now and then. Swim up pool bar closes way to early and we also found the food a bit of a hit and miss. Not enough options on the menu for non seafood eaters. The Fia fia night was great but would of been nice to know there was also a bbq night. Were never told about this. One last thing, housekeeping continuously waking us up at 8am each morning. Way to early!

Compared to Sheraton and Taumeasina, Saletoga food is the best. We had 4 kids under 5 and they ALL enjoyed the food. Their accomodation was very good and the staff were attentive. The lighting in the room area needs to be more brighter. The bathroom was brighter than the main room. Enjoyed the swimming pool, staff were kind and helpful, a little slow on the food order at times otherwise we enjoyed our time with the family. Thank you Saletoga.

Resort was nice but staff need to be a little bit more friendly and inviting. First time at the resort and it was beautiful however Service was not great especially from the villas, I wasn’t able to share much about my time at Saletoga until I got better service. But overall was a great experience.

Saletoga is about 1hour and ten minutes from the airport in a more remote part of the island (about 45 minutes from Apia). Saletoga itself was a beautiful property with a beautiful beach where you can snorkel (recommend swimming shoes). It came with kayaks and snorkelling gear. The pool was great especially for kids - and had a kids area. Due to capacity only the main restaurant was open and main bar but the food was good. The included breakfast came with both hot and cold food which was yummy. Upgraded to the beach front villas - highly recommend! Beautiful and clean rooms

We loved our stay at Saletoga for our honeymoon. The staff are all so lovely, kind and very helpful. We loved the free breakfast in the morning and love the lunch menu and eat in the restaurant most days. The facilities had great options! Snorkelling, kayaking etc...
Overall the resort is clean and tidy and very welcoming. Thank you Saletoga for a lovely stay, we will be back! :)

We love returning back to Saletoga as we know everything is amazing. The service, the tidy spaces, beautiful views, awesome accommodation, beautiful food and most of all the relaxed atmosphere! The whole place is well maintained and beautiful gardens.

One of our favourite resorts in Samoa and we have stayed at most of them.
A must stay if you visit the beautiful paradise of Samoa.

A very beautiful property. Beautiful beach right out the front with snorkeling right in front of you. 2 restaurants to choose between the themed buffet or a la carte. Room was very spacious with all the necessities. It would be nice to have maybe a couch inside to relax on, as one chair isn’t very good for 2 people. Same with outside, we had two chairs and a table, but only one lounge to relax outside. Pool was quite warm so not so good for cooling off, but great for a night swim. Resort was amazing for relaxing, but didn’t offer a lot of activities if you want to do things there (plenty of tours available on select days at attractions). We are a pretty active couple so got bored after a couple days. Not much around if you don’t have transport so eating at the restaurant can get pricey but food was delicious and the breakfast was nice.

We loved everything about Amoa especially the service and staff. The rooms were clean and beach was just across the road.
