Our original booking for the holiday home wasn’t available when we arrived, but they offered us two beachside villas instead which we were happy with. The staff were great, super friendly and welcoming. They were also really good with housekeeping, always coming in for room service and helping with laundry which I appreciated.

The cats and dogs around the property can be a bit annoying if you’re not really an animal person. I did enjoy my stay overall, but I think they definitely need to address the number of cockroaches getting into the rooms. Aside from that, it’s a good place to rest your head for the price.

This place is like dating someone gorgeous who hasn’t quite got their life together. The scenery is breathtaking, the gardens are lush and the staff are wonderfully friendly.

But the bathroom and pool tiles are falling out like teeth in a bar fight, the walls rock a “post-party chic” look the pool could do with some maintenance. Food takes its sweet time to arrive and the buffet breakfast is more school camp than holiday indulgence.

Still, the views and staff make it easy to forgive the quirks. It is budget friendly and a reasonable stay if you are not a travel princess expecting five star accommodation.

Looks lovely when you arrive, the pool and gardens are well presented. However the dining area is overrun by cats, you cannot leave food on the table or they are all over it, they are like seagulls! Food options are limited and uninspiring and there is nowhere else close by to go to. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great stay at the resort the staff couldn’t do enough to help, food was fab in the restaurant, we had a lunch and a dinner, the oka and tuna sashimi were amazing and also the seafood salad.
The hotel is walking distance to the cave pools which is a bonus. They even somehow picked up that it was my birthday and gave me a special shout out at the Fia Fia night!!

Wouldn’t recommend. One security guard and one reception lady was probably the highlight of this trip. Room isn’t available daily. Every time we would ask for towels (during business hours) they wouldn’t bring it and the poor security guard on night duty brought us towels because they forgot to bring us towels.They came and offered room service ONCE during our whole 7 day stay and so we ran out of toilet paper and clean towels constantly. We ended up buying our own toilet paper and towels because we gave up on asking them for more. After all the daily power outages and daily water outage inconveniences we didn’t ask for a refund due to understanding that it was weather related, but we felt like we were in an air bnb rather than a resort where I paid a lot for. The restaurant hours aren’t what it’s stated. No one is available for emergencies after hours other than the poor security guard who was so kind in helping us. The last straw was i asked if we could have a late check out due to flight changes and was told that it would be an extra $175. I paid for four different rooms for my family & I, no room service, daily power and water outages, they have already gotten a lot of money out of me with minimum work because we tried our best to keep our spaces clean and wouldn’t budge on letting us check out an hour later. Also the tiles are coming off in the pool and my nephew ended up cutting his knee while kneeling in the water. So no, I wouldn’t recommend for people to stay here.

Do NOT stay here! Rude and unprofessional staff, very filthy room, they had absolutely no idea the meaning of the word hospitality. Food was really expensive and also terrible. Nothing good to say about this place. Don't waste your time or money. If I could score a zero I would. The staff at Le Uaina beach resort are incredible, very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are very comfortable, I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning, with different selection of fresh fruit and other food options to choose from each day.

The staff here were wonderful, I was on a solo holiday and they made me feel welcome and looked after me. The guests were treated to traditional live music on my second night which just added to the experience. This resort isn’t one of your more fancy styles and doesn’t have all the amenities. But it makes up for that with the great service and welcoming atmosphere. I would stay here again.

If you want ro gwt away for the noise Le Uaina Hotel is perect. I loved the quiet and stayed in one of the original beach villas with easy and only steps away from the beach, which I took full advantage of daily. Staff were super friendly and helpful when asked. Menu looked enticing and food can be improved with lots of potential.

I had a mixed experience during my stay. The location is great if you’re looking to be away from the town area, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made a positive impact. The room was spacious but could use a bit of an update. The beds were quite hard, which affected comfort, and the interconnected rooms made it easy to hear others. I had a bad sleep one night due to people in the next room talking all night, which was quite disruptive.

We also had an issue with the bathroom light. It wasn’t working when we arrived, and while we were told it would be fixed immediately, the light dangled until the next evening when someone finally came to repair it. This delay was frustrating.

On the positive side, the free breakfast was great, with the option to purchase an actual meal if you wanted more. The laundry service was also excellent and very convenient. The highlight of our stay was the Fiafia night, which was a fantastic experience.

Overall, while there were some downsides, the peaceful location, beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and enjoyable activities made the stay worthwhile, though there’s room for improvement.

Even though there where dogs and cats they were not a problem at all. 3 Lovely pools. Right by the beach no canoes which would of been an added bonus.nice restaurant. Breakfast provided was good. It was a bit noisy, especially with the joined rooms, it is only luck if you get well manered respectful neighbours that can try to be quiet.....if not you will need to move to a quieter room, if available.
Dogs and cats are a big problem with noise and hygiene, some guests liked the cats and were feeding them tableside in the restaurant ....untill the fur would start flying with fights and jumping on tables to steal food, one person got bit!.

We love our stay here in the 2 bedroom beach view suite. Good snorkeling right in front of the beach. Beach access is very easy since it is not too deep. Great atmosphere and the rooms were modern with very good value for money. Very helpful staff, good room service. Breakfast was more than we expected and included in price. We had a rental car, so it was easy for us to visit all the wonderful places in Samoa. They have a full restaurant service and their pina colada’s are fantastic. Would love to come back again. Thank you for a great holiday!

Great location right on the beach with pool and beach swimming and amazing snorkeling if you venture to the sticks and beyond. If you expect a 5 star resort this isn't the place. It's tired and needs work. Expect someone in your room won't work as it should but this is Samoa. Staff are amazing and make up for it. Store across road very Chinese but has very basics and beer. Restaurant has limited basic menu so don't expect a tropical breakfast or lots of seafood as it's not. Cheapest value for money based on other island we have visited. Overall good stay to chill and explore island from. Bus $5 NZD from gate and taxis between $30 - 50.

Lovely free Fiafia cultural show by local village on Saturday night. Some of the 2023 reviews calling the resort tired or basic are now out of date - my premium room was huge, clean and very comfortable and has a great view. Free airport transfer if staying for 5 nights. Piula cave pool is right next door and Falefa Falls only a 30 min walk. Very good value for money compared to other resorts in Samoa. Highly recommended.

This was delightful hotel, a bit quirky and out of the way, but the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and food tasty. The whole place could do with a bit of TLC and the menu updated as several choices were unavailable all week. That said, for a locally owned and run hotel it’s a bit of a gem and any faults forgiven as the staff are so good. Please visit!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Girls at reception were eager to help. Dining and bar staff were so friendly and good at their job. Owner may need to do some basic maintenance on deck lounges by the waterfront. One deck lounge missing a leg, the other had a rotten leg which made it wonky. The door between the two rooms in the family room needs to be soundproofed. You could hear every word in the next room. A big plus was the free shuttle to and from the airport. We would definately stay there again.

The resort says it is beach front which is misleading. I chose an oceanfront villa but it does not have an accessible beach. They did not clean the room at all the whole 5 days I was there, did not come get the trash, nor give clean towels. We had to get new towels at the front desk and take our own trash out of the room. One of the days, there was no water at all on the entire resort and when there was water, hot water was scarce. Staff was not helpful. They gave us wrong information in regard to tourist sites and would not assist in calling or making reservations for activities for us. The breakfast consisted of the same thing everyday which included unripe fruits, pancakes, and french toast. I would not call this place a resort. Would not recommend.

Our stay was ok. The resort needs lots of maintenance There is a Lack of sun lounges and the squabs were old .
The food was very average snd the Lobster Mornay the worst meal I had ever had. I raised it with reception staff but they weren’t interested! The cats and dogs parading thru the restaurant was less than appealing especially when 4 cats jumped on table to finish someone’s scraps!!!

Pool, outdoor lounge chais and kayaks were great! Garden villa was a bit musty and shower water is either cold or scalding. The AC is nice, bed is comfy and we were happy to have a fridge and kettle in the room. The vista from the pool is very expansive, swimming in the sea at sun set was epic. They have room cleaning daily which is a plus. Breakfast included is good amdthey have a good book exchange. Fiafia night was aweome! Staff is super friendly.

Garden villas are a bit run down although clean and tidy. Some glasses in the villa and maybe a tray. box of tissues, little things like reading lights. More consistency with meals, ie if you ordered the same meal on different night it wasn't the same. More staff knowledge of tours and more brochures, even trying to get a rental car. (we ended up getting one ourselves. Staff didn't seem to know what is what as far as the rest of the island goes, ie where/how do you swim with the turtles, how do we get to Savii. Although staff were very pleasant, and we did enjoy our stay.

This is marketed as a 4 star beach resort however not all rooms are 4 star, more like 3 star and the “beach” is covered by water 90% of the time with rocks and coral... staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is no grass or communal television area or snack bar. Food at the restaurant was good. Larger of the pool is dangerous as the stairs have no railing or anti slip tiles on them, my husband found out the hard way when he slipped and fell bruising his coccyx and hip. Area around the pool is tiled which is very dangerous when wet. It is awesome that they provide kayaks for free, we saw so many fish, starfish, anemones and sea cucumbers.

Being that I had family business to tend to at a nearby village, Le Uaina seemed to be a perfect fit. Check in was smooth, even in the pouring rain. Room at check in was clean however never once in my 5 day stay was the room cleaned or new towels ever given. I invited my brothers to attend the Fiafia Night dinner & show and was deeply disappointed in the service. I had to ask twice for drinks as it seemed my server was too busy talking it up with the Australians who were staying at the resort rather than serving us. It was almost as if they didnt want to serve us as it looked like I bothered them when I asked a second time for drinks and had to get up at that fact. Highly disappointed in the service or lack there of. I am a fellow Samoan who would like to contribute to our own development when I am on island and have stayed at numerous hotels in Apia but have never experienced the poor quality of service I have until this stay. Needless to say, sorry LeUaina but you lost my business and that of my family.

Staff in the bar and restaurant were amazing. View from restaurant lovely. Pool great. Everything else very disappointing. Arrived to a room that was not what I was expecting. Was supposed to have pool view and 2 double beds and was told this does not exist even though that is what was clearly written on my Expedia printout. Had a very run done room with old pillows and very old uncomfortable bed. Yuck!!!!!!!! Mosquito from the pond also.Manger was none existent to sort this. Was promised 3 days in a row that he would see me. In the end I upgraded and paid to do so to ensure our holiday was not a total disaster. Snorkeling was supposed to be great but was hopeless. You had to go soooooo! far out that most people did not go because of current and distance. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Wifi hopeless. Shame the manager gets his staff to lie for him as most of them are very lovely people.

Very peaceful place in beach and garden setting, off the 'tourist' track. Our garden villa was perfect for the two of us needing a good rest. The private beach was perfect for swimming and free kayaks on offer were great fro exploring the coral reef. Live music outside each night was a treat - and the fiafia was very professional. Food & drinks options on site were limited but more than satisfactory. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Comfortable resort with own beach

We stayed 5 nights here. Not a busy resort so at times felt like we had it all to ourselves. Our room was a family room so joined to our neighbours by an interconnecting door. This had drawbacks as we could hear what the other guests there were saying, even at 4 am. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food at lunch and dinner very tasty though breakfast abit stodgy. Good entertainment every night. Sea was very warm and we walked through it to the Cave pools. Snorkeling out on the reef OK. Very efficient pickup and drop off to airport. 3.50 tala to get the local bus to Apia, we did hire a car for two days through the front desk. We hear the resort is being upgraded next year. We would stay here again like it is, though the water pressure in the shower needs to be looked at.

Nice hotel with small private beach

Relatively new, with the pool and the small private beach, restaurant next to the Piula cave pool:)
Staff are friendly but the kitchen close early, some dishes finished several time.

Our week stay...

Arrived to a beautiful spot though a little out of the way. Facilities were in need of urgent upgrading. NO hot water!!! Limited food options, breakfast was very minimal, we expected heaps of tropical fruit from a tropical island. The staff were lovely!!!

Mattress was terrible, woke up with a stiff and sore back every day. No hot showers. Leaking toilet. TV didn’t work. Staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there.

Worth the Money

My husband and I love staying at Le Uaina, even our kids were impressed of how beautiful this place. Our room which one of the beach villas was very nice and clean with aircon and bar fridge. I really like the ensuite, that has a big shower and hot water system with no problem, and their foods are really fresh and yumm. Beautiful view that overlook Piula Pool on the other side. We love everything about this Resort. Thank you Le Uaina definitely coming back to you next time we visit motherland.

Relaxing family resort

Had a great 4 day break, with the family. Fantastic location for swimming & getting away from it. Villas are fairly basic, but still comfortable. Very friendly staff, which makes the experience. Would happily go back again.

Beautiful location but

The waterfront location on its own bay was spectacular and the availability of kayaks, and friendliness of staff was great. Unfortunately there were issues with one of the rooms we booked, and the mattress in the room we were moved to, which meant moving twice during our 6 day stay and the language barrier of the staff created some issues for us.

The Resorts restaurant was very average for food, great for drinks.The Resort was about 35-40 mins drive away from Apia and any other food outlet so we did a lot of travelling for meals which meant not so much relaxation.

Great location - friendly staff

The hotel is small and staff are friendly. Evening meals are good quality with entertainment and kava on the side. The swimming out front is Ok - lots of fish though reef is a long way from shore. The oceanfront villa was very comfortable. Hotel is 1/2 hour from Apia - which is great - though you need to factor this in as you will need a hire car.

Peaceful retreat

This is an amazing location. It took us 40 min drive from town and wi fi costs 20 tala for 2 hours and with no tv in our room if you are looking for a peaceful retreat this is the place to go. Dinner was by a large deck by the ocean with live music provided. Lovely pool with children's play area and safe swimming beach. Friendly staff. Will visit again - very good value for money

Average customer service but nice resort

Some staff were lovely, in particular the owner and his wife. The majority, however, made it clear that they had no interest in doing their jobs and were rude. They would also wake us up each morning before 7am knocking on the door asking if we wanted clean towels, despite being asked not to.

Rooms were good, food was okay. They gave us a room free of charge for the day we were leaving until the evening when we were taken to the airport which was lovely. Great location.
