Just when asking for things from reception and being told it will be bought to your room. Two nights in a row waited for milk, I said I would wait at reception I would wait but no they said it would be bought to my room.

The cool drink, cool flanel and lei on arrival are a lovely treat after a long flight and drive. The staff are friendly and approachable and the lobby is airy and open. The rooms are very small for my liking however the views are spectacular, which ever room you stay in. The grounds are well kept, clean and tidy.

The room we stayed in smelt terrible, like mould and mildew, my allergies were so bad during my stay here I couldn’t stand it. The room does not give a luxury resort feel, the rooms are old and lack character. The amenities feel very cheap and sheets and pillows are old and stained. I had the buffet dinner but did not realise there would be no vegetarian dinner options, when I asked staff if there was anything else he stated what you see is what you get and offered no other solution. In the end I opted to order from the menu instead and he came over and ripped off my band which I thought was very unprofessional.

Very disappointed in my stay here. The only enjoyable part of my stay was the wonderful local staff and the breakfast buffet. The entertainment especially during the fiafia night was exceptional. Staff are welcoming and attentive it is just the rooms itself that let it down.

Services of cleaning not good ,the morning breakfast total changed of the menu not like before a lot choice , the price cost a lot but foods so limited choice. Feel disappointed. They don’t give you free bottles water only when we checking gave two bottles water . Another four days we have buy water by ourselves. On day cost USD $200 plus no free water . The Sunday toonai lunch Apia money $85 buffet was great deal for a lot nice local foods .

I recently stayed at Taumeasina Island Resort in Samoa. The island itself is absolutely stunning — I highly recommend visiting the ocean trench, cave pools, trying clam diving, and going snorkelling. The resort is probably the best on the island, but it doesn’t quite meet 4-star standards by European expectations. Our room was spacious and well-equipped, but it had a persistent damp smell and we were only provided with one towel per person. The beach area is lovely, but there are only a handful of sunbeds (six or seven at most), so we often had to lay towels on the grass — adding more loungers would make a big difference.

The pool and restaurant areas could use better upkeep, with missing pool tiles, dirty chairs, and tables left unwiped — one night there was even a used child’s nappy by the poolside. The food was average, and the whole resort could benefit from a refresh. The views are gorgeous and the reception area is bright and welcoming, but service was slow and disorganised. Drinks sometimes didn’t arrive, and the bar would really benefit from a simple QR code ordering system. The staff were friendly, but the reliance on carbon paper for bills made everything feel dated and inefficient.

On a positive note, the Fia Fia night was excellent and definitely a highlight of our stay. Overall, Taumeasina is a good base for exploring Samoa, but with better maintenance, more sunbeds, and sharper service, it could be truly exceptional.

My wife and I loved everything about Taumeasina Island Resort. From Fiafia Nights, to many activities, kayaking and even strolling around the vicinity was awesome. The location of Taumeasina Island Resort was amazing especially the location of our room. Shout out to Taase Siania @ reservation. She went beyond to make sure that the room I requested was met to the best of her ability. We're very pleased with our room. Shout out to Pesamino our waiter. Pesamino made our stay at Taumeasina Island Resort a pleasurable one. He always greeted my wife and I with a wonderful and warm smile and always make sure we were taken care of. Shout out to Nora @ housekeeping for making sure that our room was cleaned and she went out of her way to make sure that we received our laundry before we checked out. Shout out to the rest of the staffs. They were all awesome, helpful, and very friendly. Thank you again Taumeasina Island Resort for making our vacation/honeymoon a special one that we both will never forget.

Perfect place to stay after a day adventuring around the island. Breakfast was incredible every morning and served as our main meal each day before heading out on excursions. We stayed with two young children (2 and 7) and the staff took excellent care of us. Parking was convenient for our rental car and plenty of shops and gas stations nearby to pick up needed items between adventures. Close to town, but quiet and secluded on the island was a perfect combo for us.

The rooms lacked decent seating but the bathroom was superb, and the bed very comfortable.
No movie channel to watch in the late evening.
Did have wheel chair friendly toilets, but you had to be able to get out of chair to open and close doors.

The room was a little dated and could do with a spruce up, the night we checked in was very hot and the air-conditioning was not on so the room was very hot which was not pleasant after a long drive from the aiport. I would say the photos on the website felt a little misleading for the room we got. Dirty in the corners of the room and in the bathroom. However our house keeping lady Faanati was lovely and after the first night she kept our room much cleaner. The breakfast options were a little disappointing not enough fresh fruit but perhaps this was a seasonal thing. The main resort areas are beautiful and feel like a luxury resort and the staff are great, i just think the Ocean view king room we were in was over priced given it was not what we thought we were getting. Would definitely look at different room options if i go again.

The proximity to Apia had the advantage one could readily go there for decent, quiet dining. The resort offered limited menus and the quality of the food.
presented was not of a standard for such a resort.
\"Fine dining:\" was supposedly available with 24 hours notice, though the Sina menus presented in the Menu books were not available (e.g. including lobster) and offered no alternative protein to that afforded in the other restaurants.
Entertainment was provided each evening in the Manu bar, the noise from which drowned decent conversation whichever restaurant was chosen.
Whilst the dancers and musicians in the \"Fia Fia\" show were enthusiastic the fact that they were not on a raised plinth meant anyone more than 2-3 rows back only saw bobbing heads.
There was no transport from the resort to town and the nearest bus-stop was about 1km from the resort down a dimly lit roadway,
It's a shame, the resort could be so much more with greater attention to detail. The room was fine, clean and well maintained though on the smaller-side than enjoyed elsewhere. Its proximity to Apia also makes it less \"exclusive\" than other resorts as access is not controlled, the entry barrier being raised without challenge.

After significant research on all of the 4/5 star hotels in Samoa, Taumeasina is by far the best and most luxurious on the island of Upolu. The resort service is best in class and the daily activities are very informative and relevant to the Samoan culture. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, air conditioning works very well, bathrooms are large. The pool area is very nice and the private beach is even better. Breakfast buffet is great and they have local dishes available. Proximity to downtown Apia is 5-7 minutes by car. Very central to the main market and grocery stores. Overall, highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Located about 45 minutes from Faleolo Airport, the resort is beautifully designed and uniquely set on its own private island. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere throughout our stay.

One of the highlights was having the option to swim either in the resort’s pools or enjoy the tranquility of its private beach—both offering a great way to unwind. The resort is also in a fantastic central location, just a short 5–15 minute drive from some of Apia’s most popular restaurants, and only 10 minutes from the vibrant Fugalei Markets—a must-visit for a taste of local culture.

The only real letdown was the buffet breakfast. For an island resort, we expected a wider selection of fresh tropical fruit such as pineapple, watermelon, mangoes, and rockmelon. Unfortunately, the fruit offering was limited to dried coconut, apples, starfruit, and breadfruit. Room cleanliness could also be improved, as it seemed like daily vacuuming was needed but not done consistently.

Aside from these small issues, we had a fantastic trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway in Samoa. ☺️

Our room was lovely , clean and the bathroom was perfect, nice big shower and water pressure and temp perfect.
The resort it self was awesome , nice 2 pools and the snorkeling was magical. We recommend doing the kayak to the cute little island with the activity crew , saw turtles and a cute bird on the island.
The restaurants and bar didn't disappoint, cocktails were delish recommended the island one and the food was yummy. Gluten free options available which made it easy and the seafood was so fresh.
All and all I can't recommend this resort enough, we will be back.

Beautiful property, close to town. Probably the nicest hotel on the island. Only complaints were that the refrigerator/freezer was smelly, which made the room smell - and one of the shower doors did not close all the way, making it easy to flood the bathroom floor. Excellent customer service. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety. Restaurant food was good.
Excellent AC. The washer/drier in the 3bdrm villa was a huge bonus. Nice sized fridge/freezer. Nice private patio facing the lagoon. The resort provides lots of scheduled activities and a daily newsletter. A fantastic experience, overall. I would stay here again.

My room was double booked and we fortunately got an upgrade to a villa. Unfortunately that didn’t happen for family who were there with us. They had to find alternative accommodation elsewhere. The idea that could’ve happened to us really highlights their poor booking system.
