Hotel location very good. Rooms very cramped same as bathroom, towels were so small and looked very old and stained. Food was good BUT service was so bad always waiting for someone to take our order, when they did will be waiting for so long only to find out no order was placed. Staff need alot more training in customer service.

Late check option was great, it does cost but half of the full room rate up to 7pm - good for late check out. Served purpose of being there for business, space to conduct meetings, good flow indoor with outdoor freshness, good staff, only issue was arriving to room not fully serviced however they quickly remedied

Zuerst einmal die guten Sachen, auch wenn es wenige sind: Die Lobby und der Poolbereich sind wunderschön und die meisten Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung.
Jetzt zu den negativen Erlebnissen, die der Hauptgrund für diese Bewertung sind:
Die Zimmer sind zwar in Ordnung eingerichtet aber sehr abgenutzt und bei unserem ersten Zimmer waren Türklinke und Wasserhahn locker. Der Fernseher hat wenn er benutzt wurde Pixelfehler und flackern im Bild gehabt. Das Betttuch war zu kurz und reichte nicht ganz am Fußende über die Matratze.
Nach der ersten Nacht stellten wir an unseren Händen und Füßen blasenartige und juckende Flecken fest. Als wir uns auf die Suche nach der Ursache machten, fanden wir eine lebendige Bettwanze im Bett. Wir benachrichtigten sofort das Personal, die uns anboten einen „Deepclean“ des Zimmers vorzunehmen aber wir verlangten einen Zimmerwechsel und bekamen diesen auch. Uns wurde deshalb außerdem angeboten die Wäsche kostenlos waschen zu lassen. Dies nahmen wir auch in Anspruch.
Wir ließen uns an der Rezeption am dritten Abend einen Tisch im Restaurant reservieren, als wir ankamen wusste niemand Bescheid und wir wurden von der Kellnerin relativ unfreundlich behandelt als ob wir einen Fehler gemacht hätten. Bei der Abreise wollte die Rezeptionistin uns dann auf einmal noch die Wäsche berechnen, die wir wegen der Bettwanzen kostenlos gewaschen bekommen sollten.
Leider die schlechteste Erfahrung unserer ganzen Reise und dafür viel zu teuer!

My sister and I enjoyed our 9 day stay here. Would highly recommend to those who want to be close to town. Friendly and helpful staff. They make the perfect Blue Lagoon. They need a Beyond the Reef cocktail as well. 😂 Overall, I’d give it a 9 out of 10

Nice stay in Apia. Nice bar, eating area overlooking the pool. Pool area pretty quiet so was enjoyable to relax and go for a swim to cool off!
Hotel room was comfortable. Nice beds and pillows for good nights sleep! Aircon was much needed and appreciated.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Our only downside of the stay was eating in the restaurant. We only ate dinner there once but starters and mains were brought out together, and the mains (fish & chips) were already cold. We ended up having to send it back as it wasn't nice. The staff did then serve up a fresh dish which was appreciated.
Overall a really nice stay!

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast buffett was lovely and our room was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The only advice I have for management is to ensure the WIFI is fast with no buffering from all rooms. However this was not a major issue for us. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly for young couples and business travelers.

When we arrived the curtain was hangin off the hooks the air con was leaking water, asked to get it fixed maintenance came opened it wiped away the condensation and said if it continues to leak ask to be moved to another room. It continued to leak we used a towel to soak it up so we didnt slip. We only stayed 4 nights couldnt be bothered reporting it again. Good free breakfast and a pleasant stay. Suggestion check the room before guests arrive and check in.

Mixed Experience: Some Good, Some Not So

Overall I enjoyed my 4 night stay. The front desk staff are great (especially Ingrid) and I used the hotel's airport transfer which went smoothly both ways. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Clean. The hotel was way too noisy, however. I changed rooms twice and the hotel staff were very responsive to my complaints. However, I just don't think it's okay to have bassy music blaring from the restaurant speakers. The hotel really needs to do some testing of how their sound and PA systems vibrate through guests' rooms. The food at the restaurant was pretty gross. I had fish and chips. The fish was fine but the chips were not fresh but tasted/texture like they'd been reheated. The breakfast was a real let-down too and mostly frustrating: items would remain unreplenished for long periods until I requested more be provided. In a hotel restaurant where there are so many staff knocking about, it's really not good enough to let food run out and leave guests waiting. Another gripe was that on my first morning room cleaners carried around a Bluetooth speaker to play music. The music woke me up - I'd arrived late the previous night and had had two hours sleep. Again, just no sense of how noise affects guests. Finally, bedroom doors should not be left open while rooms are cleaned during the day; mosquitoes enter. I spent an evening catching and killing five mosquitoes which had been let in during the day. I stopped getting my room cleaned because I didn't want to play 'catch the mozzies'.

Amazing stay and service at Lava Lava

We had a great few nights at Lava Lava hotel. The room was comfortable with AC, food was good and reasonable price, but the best part was the service. They helped us with getting to the ferry terminal, and when we had checked out we went back for help with booking a taxi when we missed the bus. They were so so nice and helpful!

Laundry costs $50 tala per load and you can't do it yourself so you have to accept that you will lose items of clothing and gain random other people's washing.
The location is great.
Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
The price was fairly reasonable.
There is a bit of mould in the bathrooms.
The fire alarm went off twice during our week long stay for false alarms.
The food and drink is all good.

Check in was super easy. The team at Lava are so welcoming! Facilities were amazing. So was the complimentary breakfast. Just be aware that if the elevator breaks down you may need to use the stairs. The team at Lava were quick to remedy this for me so thankful for them! Rooms were amazing. Cleaned daily. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

The Lava Hotel is lovely place to stay. The Staff is welcoming, accommodating and friendly.
The food is delicious.
There is live entertainment on certain days.
The location is in a village which gives the atmosphere you would want when trying to be absorbed in the Samoan culture.
From the island’s warm breeze to its beautiful surroundings, you would be transported to tranquility.

Hotel is beautiful and clean, housekeeping staff amazing. As for some of the female waitresses and 1 of the front desk staff.. the attitude of some is appalling. The front desk staff, constantly reminding us “Pool towels are 50 tala if not returned daily”. Alright we heard you the 1st, 2nd even the 6th time. Even when we checked out, she only cared about the pool towel. The waitresses, just put a smile on your face; we understand language can be a barrier but a please, thank you and a smile is universal. Overall stay in hotel is lovely, everything is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is mehhh, but the menu options are 👌 Thank you Lava for your hospitality

Small rooms, no information in room so didnt even know what how to call reception and room service. Room service finished at 9pm, which defeats the purpose of room service. Shower flooded and soaked the floors. Fresh bathroom towels and flannels were jot always changed/provided. Really average stay.

Although i enjoyed my stay overall but i feel that there were still things needed to fixed. There was a odour smell everytime i turned on the shower. I had to put extra effort in making sure that the door was fully closed. And bathroom door was loose and didnt close properly. Still loved my stay bit just some things that needs fixing. :)

Liked the location of the hotel pretty central to Apia town.
Rooms were spacious and clean and shower water pressure was good.
Pool is a good size for families and groups to enjoy.
Happy hours were a treat and people come from out of hotel and enjoy it.

Some improvements could be made to the food menu.
On the day i had guests over for lunch there was no fish options available other than fish and chips.
There are plenty of waiters and waiteresses around but they werent keeping an eye on the tables.
The restaurant wasn't full but we still had to wait for drinks and food. Went to a table that had been cleared but not reset so i waited for 10 mins for someone to come over and take my order and dress my table.
Rooms closer to the road hear a lot of the traffic at night.

Stayed at Lava for one night before our flight back to NZ. Staff were very helpful and responsive. Room was well kept and a bummer we didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast buffet as we had an early flight out. Ideal location right by Apia/town close to the markets and shops to do some last minute run arounds.
