Brian, who co-owns the resort, takes personal interest in your comfort and ensures everything is in good order. The staff are very friendly and resourceful. We were extremely grateful and happy when Chai and the other staff made surprise birthday arrangements for our son at short notice and even sang happy birthday in both English and Samoan. Highly recommend a stay at Coconuts!! Thank you Brian and the lovely staff.

Exceptional stay at Coconut Beach Resort & Spa!
We stayed in Fale Tautai, an overwater bungalow (the second on the right along the path, with a west-facing deck offering stunning sunset views). The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with breathtaking ocean scenery all around. We loved being able to see turtles, fish, and starfish right from our fale even through the glass panels beneath the coffee table and in the bathroom!
The bathtub with an ocean view was a highlight, and watching the sunset each evening from our deck felt like a dream. The Samoan staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind, making our stay feel truly special. We also enjoyed a lively Fiafia Night offered by the resort free of charge. It is a wonderful experience filled with traditional Samoan music, dance, and culture. We had a deeply relaxing Coco Massage at the spa.
We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and so grateful for the experience. We can’t wait to return someday as true “Coconuts.” Soifua ma ia manuia! 🌺

Food was incredible, staff are extremely helpful and even called our car rental when they were running late and gave them directions. Tasi at the bar was especially friendly, and as were the ladies at the bar. I was 5 months pregnant and everyone was very kind and accommodating to my needs. We stayed in the over water bungalows which were gorgeous, a really authentic island experience, and the aircon works great. Beds were a little soft but thats up to personal preference. There are a couple of dogs on the property who are absolutely lovely, they wont bother you unless you call them over and then they're really friendly.

Loved it was right on the waters edge. The staff was very pleasant and assisted in anyway possible. Massage girls good fun.
Wished the Manager had introduced himself as that, rather than just chatting in incognito and appearing to be just another guest.
The rooms were incredible and all had their own character and price per night, no doubt.

Wonderful place to stay

We loved our stay in an over water fale here. It was large and bright with perfect ocean views. It felt private despite there being 5 other fakes over the water. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom was great - again very spacious with views of the ocean from the shower/bath. The hospitality of staff was outstanding. The restaurant and bar offered good food and a wide variety of cocktails. The grounds of the resort were beautiful and well maintained. We loved that the service felt personal because the resort is small. This also made it quiet and relaxing and there was no fighting for pool chairs or a seat at the bar. There was free use of snorkels and kayaks to enjoy the very calm and clear waters around the resort. There was a free guest library to swap books. We absolutely loved our stay of 4 nights. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Coconut resort and spa was wonderful. The resort is perfect for quiet and safe stay. Feels very private even though the resort was at full occupancy during our stay. We stayed in beach side fale. Great sized fale with authentic samoan vibe, built out of volcanic stone. The bathroom was incredible as semi outside with shower water coming out of stone wall. Access to beach felt like private beach

Restaurant had great spaces, undercover and open air near the water. Food ok. Some reviewrs complained about limited continental breakfast. It was explianed to us continental breakfast was included which was ok for us. If you wanted additional choices they were available to buy.

Spa building is really good quality semi outdoor setting and quality of massage good.

Sunday cultural day was fabulous and the FiaFia night with fire dancers was great as oart of our stay. Not for people wanting to party. All guests during our stay were well behaved. Great place to relax and soak up authentic Samoa. We will be back. Thank you team at Coconuts.

We stayed in Fale Lina, one of the over the water fales. Surrounded by crystal clear aqua-blue water we spent hours on our large patio watching ocean ripples for sea turtles. (Which we saw often!)
Each morning I’d grab my mask and fins and snorkel out to the nearby reef for a closer look at the abundance of sea life. It was like a dream to be in this tropical paradise immersed with these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Coconuts’ beaches are pristine, ample and clean.
The entire property is peaceful and comfortable with several beach huts to relax under. It was a perfect place to disappear, slow down and recharge.
Thursday was FiaFia night in the open air dining room where local village residents told a historic tale of Samoa through song and fire-dance. They were proud and welcoming with this ceremony and it felt special to be part of it. It was a highlight for sure & like nothing I’ve ever experienced.
The food is good & fresh, and the chef is happy to make adjustments for dietary needs.
The staff is amazing! Very helpful, friendly and kind. We were so happy with our stay here and hope to return one day.

We had 2 nights in the Royal Villa - the photos don't really do it justice. It was absolutely beautiful. We then had 3 nights in the over water fale, to wake up surrounded by the ocean in stunning accommodation was the best. Highly recommend this resort. Highlights were swimming with the turtles next to our fale. I recommend hiring a car for the duration of your stay. It's only 45 minutes to the other side of the island, when it was raining at Coconuts it was great to have the option to drive to the sun!

We have stayed at this place pre-covid and after returning we were disappointed to see how much maintenance was required on the beach fale we stayed in and the pool area.

The beach position is amazing, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, food was good too, I hope the maintenance is addressed so this resort can be 5 stars again.

Rooms are in a need of maintenance, many things are broken (sliding doors, missing knobs on furniture, ripped cushion covers etc..). The mini fridge in one of the fales was absolutely disgusting (yellow, missing shelves and looked like from 70s). Air con in this fale didn't work properly (didn't cool at all). For the price that you are paying in this resort, you would expect the free bottled water every day. The response from the staff was that we have received a welcome drink. Continental breakfast was inadequate. There was no choice of warm meal, only two slices of the dry toast, with few slivers of fruit plus below average coffee or one dcl of juice. All and all, we would probably not return.

Coconuts is set in stunning location with a beautiful wide sandy beach that would be ideal for young families. It was also great for snorkelling and kayaking. At high tide we were lucky enough to spot turtles swimming from our balcony.
We enjoyed the meals at Coconut's Mikas restaurant and walked to neighbouring Sinelei Reef resort and ate there also. The local Ocean Beach club is an option for a relaxed lunch.
Our accommodation (an over-the-water fale) was spacious, clean and quiet. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the world go by.
The staff at Coconuts were very friendly and welcoming.
All in all we had a wonderful time relaxing at the resort and exploring the sights Upolu.

We stayed just over a week at Coconuts in May. It was fantastic. Warm and friendly helpful staff. Very nice place but not fussy, perfect for our casual approach to life. Great beach. I wish they had a little better snorkeling gear, bring your own, but really that’s hardly a complaint worth mentioning. Can’t wait to return someday.

Coconuts is in a good spot on the opposite side of the island to Apia which is about a 35 to 40 minute drive by car. The resort must have been amazing in its hey-day but at present is run down and in need of maintenance. There is not a lot of attention to detail in some places - broken railings, tiles missing, safe not working. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite - we should give special mention to Nefu in the dining area - she was delightful engaging and attentive.
We did have massages in the Spa which we absolutley loved, they were amazing! The ocean and view is extraordinary and I would consider going back but would like to see the place in better condition and probably a new chef.

We loved our 7 night stay here. we love the boutique size of the resort. it didn't have a busy feel at all. The dining options either outdoor, right beside the sea or inside the cooler fann'ed area was perfect. We stayed in an upstairs treehouse room and it was perfect. very comfy, large sized king bed. The The bathroom with large, deep bath and shower with a view. Cio and Tama and ALL the staff we encountered were friendly, accomodating and genuine. The location of the resort is second to none, on the best side of the island. We can't think of a single thing we didn't like.

My trip was jinxed but service there was great

I'll start wi the not so great but despite the issues still a great stay.
I didnt get the room i booked for the whole time so needed to move and missed some of the culture day (definitely recommend the culture day!)

Was advertised as having WiFi in reception but you have to pay for it anywhere in the resort.(roaming expensive here for Aussies so buy local sim if you want to stay connected)

Was told i would get refund for early check in costs after flight delays but that was reneged which was a shame even after email comfirmation and comversation for refund on card(check your bill carefully and get cash rather than agree to credit refund)

Tour of south east cost was great but warning all single travelers per person actually means minimum of 2 so paid double.

If you're a waterfall lover just be prepared you cant swim in them all so not quite what i was wishing for.

There's very little sound proffing so dont expect a sleep in and hope for considerate neighbours.

If you choose the mini bar over breakfast make sure you get it on first day or you'll miss a days worth.

Locals were kind and helpful and Samoa is a great place to visit but be savvy.

Crabs in the bathroom!

We had a great stay at coconuts, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The cultural day was good fun and entertaining. The staff put on a lunch with traditional Samoan cooking and explained everything to us and included us in the experience. The performance at night was a lot of fun too.
I marked them down on comfort as the bathroom in our beachfront fale was not secure against crabs getting through the stone walls. We had crabs literally running at us at times. One night we had to get security to come and get them out as there were crabs in the shower that were up for a fight. The staff were not surprised at this and did not seem concerned. We could not understand why nothing was being done to fix the issue. The staff told stories of other guests crab encounters so it’s not an isolated issue. I’m happy to see crabs outside as we were at the beach, but we shouldn’t have to run from them inside our 4 star resort fale.
The two times we had transport booked it was late and staff really didn’t care, we even had one say “island time eh?” It meant we had an hour less time to explore the island and meant for a lot of stress waiting for our transfer to the airport at the end of our trip.
The food was nice but we felt it was heavy in cooking oil/fat and was overpriced for what it was.
If we were to return we would not choose the beachfront fale and would have a few more meals over at Sinalei as the one meal we had there was lovely and reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coconuts. The staff are warm and welcoming and very attentive. The restaurant is lovely - right on the waters' edge with delicious food. The location at the South of Upolu is fantastic, really quiet, beautiful and relaxing. There is another resort a short walk down the beach as well as other beach cafes for food and drinks which provides variety. We had a hire car, which was perfect for exploring the waterfalls and ocean trench as well as driving to Apia for shopping.

Had an amazing 8 days at Coconuts. We stayed in the treehouse rooms and found it very comfortable . Great to be able to sit on the deck and look over the gardens and beach. An absolute must to to see the Cultural show. Best and most authentic I have ever seen. The show went for a couple of hours and was run by the staff at the resort. There is nothing pushy about the resort to make you take tours. In fact one thing that could be improved on is the promotion of what is happening at the resort. Apart from the into talk when we arrived we only heard of events from chatting to staff. Day before checkout I found the events calendar at reception.
I was a little unsure before we came after reading a few negative reviews re price of food. Truth is this is Samoa and a resort. The food is restaurant quality and restaurant prices. There is a snack menu available till 6 pm. All in all the highlight of Coconuts is the wonderful and friendly staff. Always smiling in true Samoan style

We fell in love with the place as soon as we stepped in. The tropical garden was so beautiful and maintained very well. We stayed in over water fale. It’s worth the money! Nice, clean, spacious, private and got the view of paradise. The super king sized bed with memory form top is super comfortable. The restaurant cooks tasty food. Beautiful grounds approx. 22km from Apia , suggest hiring a car to tour around as the local bus only runs every two hours which we also caught.
No phones in rooms or television. sadly inclusive breakfast was very disappointing
small amount of local fruit, one slice of toast, muffin and packet coffee.
Had to fill our room jug from the garden tap or bath as it wouldn't fit under the sink.
Happy hour cocktails dropped from 24 Tala to only 18 Tala we found out after we got the bill. Wouldn't stay here again lots more nicer hotels SE and NW with aqua water .

The food is really good- especially anything with the BBQ sauce. They have a nice pool but the beaches and water sports are incredible. We saw turtles everytime we went out. It is a really beautiful resort with great amenities and a super Samoan cultural show.

Talofa. Amazing petite resort. If you are wanting a real Samoan experience and want to chill Coconuts Resort and Spa is the best. We were fortunate enough to stay in a Beach front Vale. It was private spacious and what a view. Coconuts have turtles swimming in front of Resort and it’s very cool. Menu has plenty of choice and staff are very friendly and helpful. There is free WiFi but is available for purchase which we didn’t use.

A must stay if you are going to samoa

A beautiful hotel right on the beach, if you chose to stay here like ourselves you will not disappointed the hotel is everything it says it is and more. You can expect to wake up every morning and see turtles swimming in the waters on your own beach what an experience, the rooms are beautiful and so spacious and the staff are so friendly and helpful they make you feel so welcome. It was so good we will be going back again next year,
