Lovely place to stay, comfortable cosy beds. Kitchen had all we needed for a three night stay., a few things in the lodge needed attention, broken faucet over bath, bug screens, possibly more than one tea towel for longer stays would be great, and new sponges per stay as no spray n wipe provided.

There were no staff at the desk on arrival or departure. We never saw any staff. On arrival our arrival form containing personal info was left on the reception counter with our villa key. This info was visible to anyone passing the check in counter & we could sight the other bookings & details also.There was no key safe etc like we've experienced at other properties. The kitchen exhaust fan cover & the air conditioning vents were in desparate need of a clean. The tap in the hand basin had to be turned off to extreme because the washer needed replacing. The toilet cistern contually leaked into the bowl which was audible from the bedroom. The room wifi is very weak & dropping out.

The pool was inoperative, Everything in the Lodge was old fashion but fonctionnal. The environment was very calm and we has a chance to see kangoroos just in front of the lodge. Khalid was very helptull for us to get organised.

Room was clean but very tired. Could have done with a can of Raid for the spiders and flies in our room. Reception was unattended for the whole of our two night stay and I didn't see any members of staff the whole time. Swimming pool was nice and refreshing. Laundry was expensive at $10 for use of a domestic-sized washing machine and antique tumble drier.

Room was basic, near the road and small town of Hall Gaps.. pool practically inexistent due to poor maintenance and overall state of it..
No one at reception. Note saying to call and someone will come, but as the region has poor service and phone connection, it was quite hard. After few attempts, we finally managed to reach someone who took over an hour to show up for check-in.
Rooms have minimum acoustic proof so can clearly hear the room next door.
For a quick and simple stay, the place is ok for overnights but the facilities (such as pool, bbq, etc) are pretty poor.

We understand these are difficult times for this area with COVID followed by bushfires so tourism is down.
We have stayed at this venue a number of times over many years and it needs updating. It is a good location, but we did not see any staff either on arrival or departure

Loved staying here, only a few minutes drive into Halls Gap, but in such a quiet, private setting. We had one of the cabins and loved it. Would definitely stay again!
The only issue was the WIFI which wasn’t very reliable but it wasn’t a problem, we weren’t there to be online all day.

Stayed here for 1 night with family recently, here’s my honest review

Negative #1 - In all my years, this is the first time I’m unable to shower, there was NO hot water at 8.45pm. Called reception, he came, tried to fix the hot water but no luck, I waited for till 9.45pm still NO hot water.

Negative #2 – TV was not working at all, there’s sound but no video across All channels

Negative #3 – 1 bar Wifi signal and consistently getting cut off, very slow. Also trying to use my mobile Optus 4G/5G but no data coverage at this property, only normal voice call/sms is available

Negative #4 – Toilet, there is about a 1 inch gap in the window, when lights are turned on at night 100s of insects, bugs, mozzy, moths flies into the toilet attracted by the light, if you or kids afraid of flying insects then this may be a big issue.

Positive #1– The room is ok and looks clean and presentable, Beds are ok and at least I did sleep

Positive #2– Reception bloke is friendly and helpful but can only do so much

Lovely quiet setting and very clean. It’s a little dated though and it shows. Loose cupboard handles, toilet roll holder was broken and shower curtain could use an update. The pool was pristine and we enjoyed our lazy afternoon swimming.

This is a twelve year old girl writing

It was a good place to go to locations, for example the zoo and the pinnacle and McKenzie Falls.

The staff were nice, but they did not maintain the stuff in our room very well for example the kettle was rusted and I was scared to use it, And the pool was dirty but it was nice to have a TV to watch and relax something. I’m very happy about this motel. Is that there is a toaster and not many motels have toasters so I'm happy about that

Sorry about the bad but you need to maintain your stuff. I recommend this motel if you're staying for a short amount of time but if you're staying for three days like four nights or a week I wouldn't recommend it.

Our villa was so dirty. There was mold everywhere in the shower n the floor in the shower was dirty. Also the fan in the kitchen had oil running down the wall. Fireplace hadnt been cleaned out. Very disappointed will be taking it further

We had a 2 room villa with 2 single beds in one room and a queen bed in the other. Queen bed was fine but BOTH single beds had numerous broken slats in the frame and the mattresses fell through when sat on. We complained twice before someone came to look and was told all the other rooms were filled and the only option was to put mattresses on the floor. I requested a refund for 1 of our 2 nights and after multiple phone calls and an email, finally had a response accusing my 1 and 3 year olds of ‘property destruction’ and my refund was refused. They were very rude and disrespectful on the phone and I am very offended at the accusation towards my children, who did NOT break the beds. Even in the event that a 3 year old did jump on the bed, clearly the beds must be very flimsy and poor to be ‘destroyed’ by such minimal impact. If I could give 0 stars, I would, just based on the absolutely shocking customer service and rude, borderline aggressive staff. Would not recommend.
Take note that the response from the owners will probably be more false accusations of property destruction by a 15kg toddler and 9kg baby.

It’s only a short drive into Halls gap and the it was very quiet at the unit. Very few people there.

The property was unique and beautiful to stroll around. Lots of facilities for children and couples to enjoy - the pool was lovely sized. Needed more maintenance and cleaning but was nice anyway.

Unfortunately the room wasn't clean properly upon arrival, their was rubbish under the bed and there was lots of hair in the shower drain. The shower head also wasn't on the arm properly, so when the shower was turned on the roof got wet. I was able to screw the shower head back onto the arm but not tight enough.

The location of the property is good. We rented a queen bedroom option. The place was clean and good. The guy at the reception was good as well.

Seamless check-in process no dramas at all. It is 4 mins drive from Halls Gap and you can go to other lookouts in timely manner as well. The places was quite.

Lets talk about ammenities :

-wifi (present. The speed was not great, but it worked slowly)
- no reception on the room for mobile signals.
- TV, micro, A/C, fridge, cutlery, plates , mugs, tea bags, coffee satchels, towels, and a small table with 2 chairs were there.
- TV was smart TV. Netflix was provided.
- iron and iron board were provided
- Kettle and toaster were provided

The swimming pool was there on the property, however it was not clean (maybe due to the weather conditions lately, always check with the property about the pool).

There were designated BBQ spots and swings for the kids.

Over all it was a good experience. If you are planning to visit, ensure you download the offline maps for the grampians.

We used the motel as a night before we started our week on Grampians Peaks Trail . It was a great choice . Only thing that could have been better for us is for the only other group there, to be put in a room further away from us . They were put right next door which seemed crazy , given the large number of rooms available. They were up on verandah just outside our room enjoying wine and a chat keeping us awake for a long time when all we needed was a good nights sleep . Its clean ( and quiet once everyone goes to bed).

Falsely claims to have wifi

This property advertises on its own website and on hotels.com that it has free wifi available in all rooms and lodges. This is not correct. While there is wifi, it isn't connected to the internet. We were offered use of the reception wifi but this was well out of range of our lodge. The receptionist promised us a visit from the owner but this never happened. This isn't a one off incident as multiple google reviews noted the lack of wifi.
We were misled into staying here by the false claims of wifi availability, hence our poor review.
