Family Vacation-Hotel needs to improve

The hotel is in a state of renovation. There is work that needs to be done. Breakfast was great. Bathrooms were ok. Lobby was comfortable and pretty. Carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced. We were a huge group and overall enjoyed but there are things that need to be fixed up.

We always stay at this hotel when in Ashkelon! The staff always helps and the breakfast is amazing. Views of the sea help too…

The marina is basically between the building and the sea so easy to walk to.

Ok. not more than that.

We needed a last minute place to stay. chose Tamara for its proximity to the beach. it good decent reviews too, so we chose it. The hotel is OK. not more than that. Breakfast is relatively large but not so appetizing. The bathroom was ok but when you look at the details, it could use touch ups. the staff was not very happy to be there... Not a hotel I will come back to if I have other options.

Not a healthy hotel

The room had mold around the sink and countertops. The electrical outlets were unstable and loose, and there was only one usable plug which made it inconvenient and difficult to keep our electronics charged. There was only breakfast served and we were unable to eat in the hotel other times. Some of the light switches did not work.

Hotel is in excellent position and really spacious.
However, room needs a spruce up - paint, tiling
Sheets too small for bed.
Some staff not that friendly or helpful but others (1 at reception and dining room staff were lovely)

Good place to stay near the beach in Ashkelon

Very good location (right across the beach and close to marina), servicies, and very helpfull staff. Great selection for the buffet breakfast. The prices was reasonable for the service and location. The facilities were a bit old, but that was the only minus. This is certainly the best place to stay in Ashkelon, if you want to be by the beach and not in the downtown (away from the beach).

my family and I stayed here before my wedding. we took around 10 rooms. The staff were poorly trained and unhelpful. My elderly mother was disappointed with many things such as the helpfulness and the fact that they didn't come and clean the rooms. The bathrooms in the rooms needing upgrading. In fact we kept getting locked in by mistake. Additionally the room keys hardly ever worked meaning constant trips to the reception.

At first we were very disappointed in the condition of our room and bathroom. It was not at all like the pictures. We then spoke to manager Aviva who was amazing and she explained that the hotel was under renovation and showed us the new floors. It was unfortunate that we did not experience the new rooms but would definitely try again in future. Beautiful pool, great food and very friendly staff! Walking distance to restaurants and the Marina.

Great location. Needs a full refurbishment.

The hotel whole hotel is in desperate needs of modernisation and refurbishment. The interior is worn, all the carpets are stained and dirty on the corridors on every floor. The rooms are worn and tired. The air conditioning needs modernising. The gym is poor. The pictures on the website have been airbrushed. I've stayed here many times in many rooms and they are not like this.

Good service, okay facilities, mold problem

The hotel is nice and very close to the sea, and the rooms have an amazing view. The balcony had plastic cups and cigarette buds on the floor. The room also wasnt very thoroughly cleaned (we even found someone's hair clip under the pullout bed). What bothered us the most was that the room smelled moldy, and the air vents were FILLED with black mold in and around it. When we checked out i told the guy at the front desk about the mold and he wasn't surprised, and said that they were aware...which frankly was even more botheresome. Other than that the service was great! Everyone was very nice and accomodating. We were even allowed to stay until saturday evening instead of checking out at 11am free of charge.

a nice vacation

I have travelled with 3 of my children and grand chirldren - 3 rooms - we had a great time - the pool is nice just the baby pool not so clean but the big pool perfect - the breakfast very good but the cofee plav=ce very very slow - the play room was perfect and our overall feeling was more that good - few managers are great such Aviva, invgeni at the breakfast and nina too -

Great vacation!

We had a wonderful short vacation. The staff was exceptionally gracious. Breakfast was delicious and wonderful! Very comfortable beds!
Great pool! Right near the beach!

Rip out the carpeting and clean up around the pool

Everything was fine. Except.... the pool area need cleaning (areas full of cigarette butts, litter, etc.) and the carpeting in the hallways from the second floor and up up should just be removed entirely. Never saw such dirty stuff.

חדרים ברמת תחזוקה מינימלית ושירות מתחת לכל ביקורת . נראה שהמקום לא מנוהל, חסרים אנשי צוות ואלה שישנם מפגינים אדישות. קיצרנו את החופשה כי אחת משתי המיטות בחדר לא היתה ראויה לשינה. היתרון היחיד של המלון היא הקירבה לחוף ולמרינה השווים בפני עצמם. בבריכה כמעט ואין פינות צל , ארוחת בוקר ברמת הקוננטלית ומפרפסות זעירות להורים שרוצים קצת להתרווח אחרי שהילדים מומלצים . תעשו לעצמכם טובה ותתרחקו

מתחיל בצק אין מאוחר (בלי ממש סיבה - פתאום ב 15:15 כל האנשים הממתינים קיבלו סמס שהחדר שלהם מוכן - (די ברור שלא סיימו לנקות בדיוק בו\"ז 10 חדרים ). אין מענה בטלפון (התקשרתי כמה פעמים) , לא היו מגבות נקיות בבריכה לפחות חצי שעה - ורק אחרי שהלכתי לבקש פעמים הביאו. קיבלתי את החדר עם כספת נעולה -.. בנוסף יש עובש סביב המזגן..
רוצה לציין שאין לי בעיה עם היחס של העובדים במלון - נראה לי שהם פשוט מאוד קצרים בכמות כוח האדם (שזה חוצפה ממדרגה ראשונה ממלון שגובה כזה סכום כסף
בלי קשר לביקורת השלילית, חשוב לציין שכל מתקני הילדים לא פועלים (זאת הסיבה שהגענו למלון - ומסתבר שבגלל הקורונה הם סגורים) - חשוב להורים לילדים קטנים לשים לב...

Excellent hotel right by the beautiful marina & beach.
Hotel is very clean. Swimming pool open during Summer season.
Well stocked business lounge is a nice bonus.

Bad points-
noise coming from the lift shaft can be disruptive for light sleepers. I’ve stayed here numerous times but no matter what room I’m in I can still hear this noise

Could be a better breakfast selection to suit the many overseas business guests

The hotel is nice. Not fancy. The breakfast was good. The location just a minute walk from the seashore and marina is great. We had only one problem, not the fault of the hotel - there was a smoking smell from the next room.

eservation at the Leonardo ashkelon hotel 16-17.8 . At the form I mentioned 2 kids one 2 years old and the other kid is 6 years old. When I got checked in the hotel the reception told me that hotels charged me for 2 kids instead kid and baby. How I get refund? My mail is [email protected] And other question...where do I see coupon in my account? Please help me whit this I feel i pay a lot of money for not very best hotel

Good except for the explosions!

Well it was a nice room near some amazing beaches but unfortunately Hamas decided to fire 600 rockets over Ashkelon in 2 days. Sirens went off about 12 times and we had to run for the stair wells for safety

Nice Hotel with Great Staff

This is the second time we stayed here in the last 3 years. The Staff now is great as compared to the 1st time. Also all the problems such as electric problems have disappeared. Lovely view of the beach and close to restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. Near Marina and beach

I loved the view. On the tenth floor, the room was very nicely furnished. Having a balcony was a real bonus. The staff was very helpful and attentive, especially the front reception desk staff. Though we had a problem with the original room, they quickly switched rooms for us without fuss. However I was very disappointed in the housekeeping. The pool is large with plenty of lounge chairs. But the area is not maintained to the standard of a four star hotel. Same for the breakfast. Excellent food, but there was little staff to clear tables. Other common areas needed attention, too. This hotel is a building divided into condos/ timeshares. Though the entrance is separate, the view from the pool area isn't up to par. This hotel has a lot of potential and some small changes would make a big difference.

The hotel staff seemed to have a head time with English. It was often hard to get something to drink as the cafe didn’t have change for there own currency.

Dinner buffet was a bit pricy for the selection offered I wouldn’t stay here again if there is room elesware.

Their Facilities Don’t Match Their Ego

This was a well laid out hotel that was designed to take advantage of its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. It appears to provide easy beach access however this is not the case, at least during the winter months. This morning I was directed around two adjoining properties and across traffic to enjoy a walk in the sea.

At first glance the room was well appointed in a clean, modern style. Unfortunately a second glance evinced cheap furniture that was coming apart at the base, mirrors with unsilvered spots and other signs of wear and tear or a lack of maintenance. this hotel could use some attention to detail.

Terrible, broken doors, hotel sent people to fix it even though i asked them not to send strangers into my room with out me there. Had smell of manuer in the room!

Good location, needs updates

We expected a first-rate beach hotel given the positive image of the Leonardo brand. Unfortunately, the staff was often rude and acted like they were doing you a favor. Was it too much to ask for water? Seriously needs a facelift and newer equipment. The workout area is a dungeon.
But from what we heard, this is the best hotel in Askelon.

Great hotel for families or couples

Very friendly staff. No problem getting upper floor room as requested. Very clean room with comfortable beds. Good Israeli style breakfast. Extra towels arrived 5 minutes after request. Synagogue and large sukkah on site for religious guests. Large pool. 5 minute walk from beach. City has been fixing up boardwalk.
