This place is incredibly overpriced. My room looked like it was last renovated in the 1980s. The whole curtain was broken and the rod was hanging on the ceiling by a thread. The hotel seemed dirty overall and I feel like I didn’t even get close to what I paid for.

Good for business trips

It is conveniently located near the airport and the city centre hotel and it has excellent service. The spacious rooms have a good desk for work and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast.

We enjoyed the wonderful free breakfast and the ability to dine in the hotel for dinner. We were located close to all the things we wished to see and were within walking distance. The employees were particularly helpful and pleasant.

Comfy stay for business

Tasteful room, comfy bed, nice bathtub, good house keeping, great location. The safe didn’t work though. The dinner was very good (lamb chops) but the breakfast rather boring and far from the Serena standard. The hotel lacks the charm and common facilities I’ve seen elsewhere at Serena Hotels.

It's no exaggeration that Dushanbe Serena Hotel has Central Asia's finest housekeeping staff (incredibly thorough cleaning and always exuding warmth and kindness), though Mansoor (middle-aged gentleman) was the only true stand-out front desk attendant, and he truly was incredibly patient and hospitable! Other front desk attendants were stoic and unwelcoming.

The room was very spacious with a wonderful desk, and the bathroom was large and beautiful. The re-stocked mini-bar of cold drinks was very much appreciated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Views from the room's windows facing the street were unremarkable.

I thoroughly read the hotel's book of policies provided in the room, but several pieces of information were no longer accurate, which was frustrating. For example, the hotel's second floor business center does not sell stamps and does not offer newspapers (in fact, the business center looks in ruins). There is also not a bookstore, and the tiny gift shop is overcrowded with merchandise (none of which is visibly priced, which is unprofessional).

The ninth floor pool was shockingly miniscule and claustrophobic. It can only fit about 10 to 15 guests, and I would say it's certainly an adults-only pool. If you are not among the first 10 to 15 people to arrive, then you won't be able to enjoy the pool that day.

Airport transportation arranged by the hotel was minimally late, but late nonetheless, which is always nerve-wracking.

I was placed in a room with an air conditioner that didn’t work and clearly hadn’t for a long time. Asked for a change and specified nonsmoking and was placed in a nonsmoking room with an ac that barely worked. Avoid floor 3 (smoking)

Good bed but the rest is....

This hotel has some good qualities, but it has a long way to go before it can consider itself five-star.

Elevator keycard scanner is decades old, doesn’t work—have to scan 7-8 times to get anywhere
Pool always out of clean towels
Pool boy was rude and arrogant

front desk staff cold and unwelcoming
tried to arrange a transfer to Samarkand through the hotel, hoping to avoid being scammed by a taxi. We were quoted a huge price which they later dropped by 35% (?). We asked for a written agreement (price & drop-off at hotel in Samarkand) to avoid a hidden charge for crossing the border etc. (we are well-travelled and this has happened before). The manager said this was impossible as it was Sunday, but assured us we would pay the quoted price.
• We said we appreciated his assurance but that it would be useless when we had crossed the border in a stranger’s car, no longer had internet to contact him etc. He called the driver who now said there would be a 30% tax on top of the quoted price. I told him this is exactly why I wanted the agreement in writing. A lot more back & forth involved the manager laughing in my face for requiring this (we thought this may be because I was a woman, as front desk staff always greeted us with, “hello sir” and ignored me). It worked out, but this level of service is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.

L’hôtel est en plein centre. Les chambres sont en style traditionnel. L’hôtel est mal entretenu. La piscine est en très mauvais état (et n’a plus de vue sur les montagnes du fait de nouveaux immeubles). Le petit déjeuner est moyen.

Отличная комфортная гостиница. Хорошее расположение. Если путешествуете налегке и погода позволяет, можно даже пешком дойти с аэропорта ~40 минут.
Вокруг есть, где перекусить.
Оставался на одну ночь, с целью посмотреть город Душанбе - все успел, все посмотрел. Хорошее место, рекомендую
