Everything about my stay at the Tirana International Hotel was excellent, clean rooms, great location, and professional staff. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was a major letdown and didn’t meet the standards you’d expect from a 4-star hotel.

The selection was very limited and, more importantly, didn’t change from day to day, which quickly became repetitive. Basic items were missing as well—there wasn’t even a simple option for regular toast. To make matters worse, the toaster provided was extremely slow and didn’t toast properly, making even that small option frustrating to use.

It’s a shame because the rest of the hotel experience was genuinely very good, but the breakfast offering really needs improvement to match the overall quality.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel and it exceeded my expectations in every way.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent service really stood out.

The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay.

The bed was way tooooo comfy!

The hotel facilities were well maintained and offered everything you’d expect from a high quality stay. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options, and everything felt fresh and well prepared.

The location was also very convenient, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.

Overall, this hotel delivers a 5-star experience despite being a 4-star property.

I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional service.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tirana. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their kindness and professionalism. The service was exceptional, and everyone went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.

The hotel itself was very clean, well maintained, and beautifully designed. My room was spacious, quiet, and extremely comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The location was also perfect—close to everything and very convenient.

What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the warm hospitality. It truly felt like the staff cared about making my stay special.

The hotel was adequate at best definitely not what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. the room and bathroom were kind of old , the bed and pillows were uncomfortable and there is definitely no soundproofing to block put noise from any of the events that may be happening in the square below. One time the elevator got stuck in an endless loop, stranding me for minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is very central / easily walkable to a lot of different things but this is definitely not my favorite hotel.

Terrible rude service, smell of smoke in non-smoking room.
Ended up at the same standard: the hotel advertised everywhere \"our own hotel brand new Mercedes transfers to airport foe Euro 20 or Euro 35 return - cash only to driver\". Reception staff refused to confirmed that I will be picked up on return for Euro 15... just insisted to pay E 20 first leg.
I booked it and ... I got a Chinese car; too late to protest or change.
Huge groups... ONLY ONE COFFEE MACHINE at brekkie for 15 floors x 20 rooms each worth of customers.
Bad management, poor quality rude at times staff, outdated hotel.
Left after one night, although pre-paid 5 nights. Happier at a boutique non-pretentious hotel.
Worst experience in more than 10 years.

Reception staff were great. The bar experience was not.. Too busy talking amongst themselves to ask us for our orders or to help guide us to a table. After waiting for 15 mins, looked bothered for us breaking up their conversation when we went inside to request beers that we then took out ourselves. Same for when we waited in vain for the bill. We brought back the empty beer bottles purselves. Please apologize to the 4 bar staff for the bother and breaking up their conversations.

Bathroom was never cleaned thoroughly, mirror was dirty when we came and never cleaned. The room was dirty and the windows had so much debris it was gross. The air conditioning didn’t work, it was so hot. I asked why it didn’t work the cleaning woman said it was always like that. My experience at the Tirana International Hotel was overall mixed. The hotel enjoys a perfect location, right in the heart of Tirana, facing the main square, which makes it an excellent base for exploring the city on foot. From that perspective, it truly delivers and has great potential to be a top reference in the capital. However, several aspects of the stay fell short of expectations. The air conditioning in the room was poor and inefficient, making it difficult to rest comfortably, especially during warm days. The bathroom was small, uncomfortable, and far from functional, with outdated fixtures that clearly need renovation. The linens and bedding looked old and worn, which gave a sense of neglect unfit for a hotel of this category. Another major disappointment was the breakfast buffet: the selection was limited, the quality was underwhelming, and the service lacked proper organization. This was particularly frustrating since breakfast is often a highlight for travelers. The staff were polite, but at times seemed overwhelmed and not attentive to detail, which added to the overall impression of inconsistency. It is a shame, because the hotel has history, prestige, and an unbeatable setting that give it a unique charm. With proper investment in modernizing the facilities and raising service standards, the Tirana International Hotel could live up to its potential and truly provide the memorable experience guests expect. Location is the selling point

Pros: 1) Location - right by the main square. 2) Breakfast was nice, the food and the dining room. 3) Reception area was impressive and the staff the helped with my luggage were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: 1) Air con didn't work in my room. 2) Room smelt of wet carpet. 3) Staff were rude during check in.

I'd stay here again purely for the location but the rooms need upgrading.

Worst Ever Stay

In a 4 star hotel like this, you expect certain standards which hotel will have but this place has crossed all limits.
I had issue with cooling in the room, the technician visited twice, during the second time when technician was already there in room, a lady from reception walks in the room without basic courtesy of knocking before entering asks the technician about the issue and tells me that its fine, I asked her that its not fine since I have been in the room for quite a while now and I can't sleep like this to which she rudely says-\"We can't do anything, all our rooms have same AC\" and walks off the room and even asking the technician to leave. They don't know how to actually attend their guests at all.
During the breakfast, staff doesn't know how to greet, all of them looked like they don't want to serve, and are just standing there for the heck of it. I asked for sliced bread, the guy there said there is loaf, you can cut it.
The worst ever experience yet, there are no amenities, apparently everything is \"under-construction\". This should be categorised as 2 star and not 4 star.

Disappointing Stay — Only the Location is Good

The biggest issue I had with this hotel was the air conditioning — the room never felt cool enough, it was very humid and uncomfortable. The room we got is old and dusty. Cleaning service is okay, and they do a good job of refilling amenities, but the overall feel is outdated.

I also think the minibar should be replaced. It would be much more useful to keep the fridge and instead provide a water kettle for coffee or tea.

As for the restaurant, I was not impressed. The pasta I ordered was disappointing, and the seafood portion (especially the squid) was far too small and unsatisfying. Honestly, it’s better to eat outside — you’ll find cheaper food with much better quality and portions.

The only real positive about this hotel is its location, right in the center of Tirana. But beyond that, there’s nothing particularly special or memorable about staying here.

We chose this hotel for its unbeatable central location, but sadly, service and comfort did not match the setting. With the exception of one kind and attentive gentleman on the evening shift, most staff seemed indifferent and untrained in hospitality. Our trip was last-minute due to a family emergency, and I needed reliable internet for work. Instead, I was told “we’re under new management” as an excuse for poor Wi-Fi, forcing me to work in the lobby until 2 a.m. local time on confidential matters.
We also booked a double room for our family of four, assuming—like anywhere else in the world—that meant appropriate beds for two adults and two minor children. Instead, the hotel claimed our 13-year-old was “not a minor” under their policy, charged extra, and gave us a room with three single beds. My husband and I had to sleep separately, and our 6-year-old had no proper bed.
It’s heartbreaking that the least welcome I’ve felt in a hotel was here in my birth country. My husband remembers this hotel as the pride of Tirana; now it feels more focused on profit than on guests. The location is great, but I will not return.

The staff at reception are so rude and ignorant. They, and the staff throughout the property need training in manners, courtesy and hospitality. The rooms are old and basic. Breakfast is cheap and poor quality. Great location but that’s it. Avoid and spend your money somewhere else.

TIH is a very good hotel with professional staff, very clean and well organized. I have been using the hotel for the past 30 years and have witnessed changes in ownership and management and that, in most areas, it has moved with times and improved its services. However, there are a couple of very important issues that the hotel has not addressed.
1. The most important shortcoming is that rooms with double bed have showers only (no bath) and rooms with twin beds have a both with a shower inside the bath. The problem with the former is that the shower cubicle is very small, probably 60x60 cm; very difficult to move about in it. Furthermore it only has a fixed shower head right at the top beyond reach of the guest. There is no hand shower alternative. Finally the curtains in the cubicle are only a few centimeters longer than the edge of the basin, meaning that often, the water gets out and floods the bathroom. The shower cubicles, the position of shower head and the curtains have not changed in 30 years. Surely the hotel can attempt to improve this situation. If they cannot expand the cubicle, they should at least provide a hand held shower head and longer curtains!!

2. The pillows are absolutely uncomfortable; they are hard and inflexible. The hotel can improve this aspect very easily.

I hope the hotel will deal with these shortcomings and keep its excellent reputation.

We had a very good room with a view on Skanderbeg Square. We had two problems upon arrival: the room was very good but the safe and the telephone in the room did not work. It take two hours for the hotel staff trying to fix them without success. They refused to change the room for us. After long discussions they told us that they receive the permit to change the room. It seems that the reception staff has no authority to deal with such simple problem without asking OK from a manager! Nevertheless I highly recommend this hotel: best location, helpful and gentle staff (particularly Sonia), very clean hotel & good buffet breakfast. We didn't like the shower which was narrow.Their taxi driver, Arben, was amazing. I will come certainly again to this hotel.

Overall had a good time, just some hiccups.

The stay here was good but the pool was closed due to construction. Also some hiccups here and there like the shower drain was not draining water properly and there was an overflow. There were not enough sockets for phine charge and need to move ironing table to the near by lamp socket to use it. Rest all was good, it has its own car park and a great location. We had a wonderful view of Skanderberg square. Would be great if it jad some vegetarian options for breakfast.

12th November 2024 me and my partner check in hotel at evening time about 8pm to 10pm. Receptionist was very rude, when she sea my passport, she said you are not look like British. I said what do you mean. Then she carry on and i said i am British but not white. She still now carry on and asked me where you originally from. I said bangladesh. Then she said oh poor country.
She was very rude and unexpected behaviour. 2 ladies was ther. One was with glasses on and she try to stop her. But other one still now carry on. I was so disappointed. Next day talk to manager but still now get any feedback.

I stayed only one night at the start of a fantastic trip across Albania but I'll stay here in Tirana longer next time.
The hotel is in a perfect location next to Skanderbeg Square with easy access to public transport as well as it's own car park.
Staff are friendly and helpful throughout, my room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, served on the second floor overlooking the Square.

We arrived at 3pm, our room was not ready, in fact another couple were also waiting for their room. The 2 ladies at reception were like doing me a favour - this was their atitude. No sense of urgency to resolve issues, no sense of let me get this sorted out ASAP. They just took their time. This place gets people only due to location. Other than that its a very dated looking hotel. No PZazz at all. Also on the day of check out since I had 2 rooms, I couldnt get into my room. I went to reception 3 times for the same lady at reception to think that maybe something is not only wrong with the keycard but also the door ! I would probabyl never go back to this hotel nor would I recommend it

We enjoyed our stay at Tirana International hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent, exactly at the center of Tirana, which all the tourist spots extremely accessible. The hotel ws The hotel breakfast was excellent, rooms were spacious with nice amenities. The hotel staff were very friendly, hospitable and helpful. They even packed breakfast for us as we had to check out very early! However, there is some scope for improvements: (1) the room air conditioner were not working, sometimes it became very hot and suffocating (2) there was a power outage for about 10 mins, which was not expected at such a reputed hotel (3) the rooms were not complete sound proof and we could hear the elevator sound and even vehicle sounds from outside. Overall, it was a great experience and would love to stay at this hotel if we get another chance.

The front desk staff, especially the older gentleman with glasses was excellent .friendly , efficient , fast checking . Located downtown by the main attraction . Great food at restaurant . The room had a very large bed which was awesome . The buffet a bit disorganized , food was ok, WiFi very weak and inconsistance making it hard to work on line .window don’t provide full silence and you can hear the outside . Over all good

Among the best located hotel in Tirana. It is on the main square, 100 metres from the public transport. Facilities - normal, had breakfast - standard. Price of dinner was reasonable.Staff was very welcoming and helpful.

This was a good hotel only issue i had is that on check out they said i had a coffee when i never, i thought this was sorted out in morning, i used thier private taxi and left luggage i returned to collect and again was told i took a coffee when i didnt, bit frustrating to repeat myself as i explained in morning that i never, seems staff billed my room when it was another who took it
