Beautiful building and grounds. Lovely room with direct access to the gardens. Private, secure parking bookable on request. Worth noting the restaurant is closed on Mondays however we visited the Chimiere on reception’s recommendation and the food was superb

Mystic Hotel

Hotel is located in mystical village Mazan. It's a chateau with history. Building itself gives quite peace and relaxation. Hotel has a swimming pool and lovely garden area. It may need some renovations as shutters carpets are getting older and older in each our visit. It is also worth mentioning that hotel serves excellent breakfast.

Beautiful historic building. We had a junior suite and it was bright and spacious. Decor was cheap. Lots of cheap prints. Amenities was poor, you get Nescafe instant sachets for your coffee in the room, and only a combined shampoo, shower gel bottle with pump that doesn't work. We found quite a lot of ants in the room.
We ate outside for dinner (as they didn't want to serve inside), fair enough, but there are no parasols, and because of that, all manners of bugs landed and stayed on our food as we were eating it. Needless to say, I really did not enjoy my food, and we decided to skip desert and head back to our room.
Mazan itself is pretty non-descript, the hotel could be overrun by cyclists staying, which could ruin the ambience because they hog the swimming pool (literally the lot we met, stayed and chat in the middle of the pool), as well as they wandered around the hotel in their swimsuits and towels.
Upon check in we were immediately warned to bring back the pool towels to reception during check out, otherwise they will charge us extra for the towels.
In addition to that
- hotel was advertised to have parking, it turns out that we had to pay €15/night
- we were charged €3 extra per night for extra energy bills. The notification email came a few days before we checked in. I think this was really poor, despite the insignificant amount. If you have agreed on a rate, you should not add on top.

Needless to say, we won't be coming back.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and assisted me with a few last-minute problems (a broken earring, a wrinkled dress) with grace and speed. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. Altogether peaceful and lovely.

This historic Château has undergone major renovation, and the designer did a phenomenal job! Everything was sparkling and amazingly tastefully decorated. The outdoor space was also redesigned and is just so peaceful! The staff is extremely attentive. Breakfast was wonderful, and the chef prepared a very creative, delicious dinner, allof it served in this stunning setting.

The room was beautiful and the amenities were plentiful. The breakfast each morning was delightful. The grounds were amazing. The courtyard area just outside the entrance was a peaceful setting with running fountain in the background. The pool downstairs was refreshing and there we leaned to play pétanque. Staff spoke a bit of English, some more than others, and they were all so very friendly. We even delighted in conversation with some of the friendly international guests. There’s a working garden that the chef came down to cut fresh herbs for his delicious meals.

Ok hotel but amazing restaurant

Pretty chateau but the best part about it is the dinner. The hotel gourmet restaurant was rewarded a michelin star but unfortunately was closed. However this alternative restaurant served the most amazing meal of our trip. We stayed at 6 hotels in our week trip and this is by far the best dinner we ever had. It even beat Monaco's Hermitage hotel Michelin star restaurant. You cannot give the dinner a miss. The server, a blonde man was also wonderful. He was very hardworking and attentive. Overall great service from him. Kudos to him for making the experience wonderful

Charming historic hotel in quiet town of Mazan

The property was beautiful but we had a bit of surprise when shown our room. There was only a bathtub NO shower. My 6’4” husband was challenged to keep the water contained inside the bathtub!
Otherwise it was great! Good food, clean, good location.

Interesting property and a great place to stay

The hotel had great character. From the front, it blended in with the other buildings along the narrow street but once inside the pool and garden area made it feel like you were away from everything. The room was large, clean and comfortable though the bed could have been a little softer for my taste. Our only negative was a fire alarm at 0400 that turned out to be a false alarm; not the wake-up call we were wanting! :) The artwork and feel of the entire property was very different from the norm and made for a great stay.

Staff is great. Restaurant is superb but don't expect local. Haute plus. Great boulangerie for super croissant and breads in town. Very nice local bars in town for coffee in the morning or a libation anytime. For coffee in the morning or a libation anytime. Double check any tourist advice. Advice can be out of touch missing better options. Reason for the demerits in the rating is mold or mildew around the tub or Jacuzzi. Big surprise. Even on the off chance it wasn't mildew I can't imagine why management would leave anything black and nasty looking on the tub caulking

Mixed experience in a Marquis de Sade's mansion

The mansion is great and well decorated. The garden is very pleasant and the swimming pool a relief. The personnel is very friendly and always willing to help.

On the minus side: the filling of the pillows that is definitely below standard for such a place: it spoiled a lot... they should be changed. No way also to take a shower as there is no shower head hanger. One of the two managers is stuck up and unfriendly, which is also substandard for such a hotel category.

So, a bit overpriced, especially the restaurant; room for improvement.

Lovely Chateau feel, lovely gardens, the pool was very welcoming. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel the ambiance was great as was the service and the cold tomato compote was delicious, the fish for my main meal was very average as was my husbands steak dish. The room was very clean and had a nice feel, the toilet set was loose and the sink was blocked and the way the TV was placed was very hard to see and no desk for a computer. A short walk to town for a coffee and croissant.

We had a small but very clean room. Note, it had a bath, no shower . We were unable to book in an evening meal for the two nights we stayed there as they were fully booked, tip, book in advance. One of the nights we stayed (Monday) all the restaurants in the village of Mazan were closed. We did have a wonderful meal in Carpentras, but it involved a drive. We did however love the hotel, it was peaceful, and had a simple pool in the fabulous garden. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, but unobtrusive.

Château de Mazan-Hotel in small Provence village.

We stayed four nights at the Château de Mazan early June. This is the good place to appreciate all the wonders that Provence has to offer! The Chateau is attractive from the outside and not really nice from inside. The building needs renovation. The size of the room is standard and had TV and Free Wi-Fi. The furniture in the room, like the furniture in the Chateau are old, not the first freshness. The size of the bed is not even Queen. In the shower, there is no shelf to place soap or shampoo while you are taking shower. You have to place all accessories to the floor. The Chateau has parking for cars.
Breakfast buffet is 17 Euros per person for eggs, cold cuts, cheese, jam, croissants, bread, and cereal. Dinner at the hotel is formal, the menu is limited. There are no better restaurants in the area, although not in Mazan and you definitely need a car if you are staying here. The food in the restaurant was OK, but in my opinion is overpriced. We dined there one evening.

We booked a junior ste. The overall impression was SHABBY...loose tiles on floor- furniture was beyond antique....Bathroom was modern. Our Dinner was wonderful but as in most of Europe smoking is permitted outdoors. We had no control over the people at nearby tables who choose to smoke. Breakfast is not incl...and not worth 17 Euros per person.

Château de Mazan - Beautiful place!

Our experience in this hotel was a positive one. Beautiful building, garden and swimming pool. We stayed at a Charme room that was simple but tastefully decorated. However we were on the 2nd floor over the kitchen and it was noisy. Another weak point is the breakfast: their buffet does not offer a wide selection of food and it is exactly the same every day. We found that 17EUR per person is definitely too expensive for what they offer. If you can hold your morning hunger, do get out of Mazan for breakfast. Their restaurant in the evening is pretty good and reasonably priced for the kind of gastronomical experience they offer.

un lieu magnifique et, il faut vraiment le souligner, un accueil d'une gentillesse et d'un professionnalisme exceptionnels par une jeune femme polonaise qui a vraiment personnalisé notre accueil! A première vue, le lieu est fantastique et la très grande chambre qui se prolonge par une terrasse, climatisée, un vrai plus en ce jour très chaud de juillet. Première déception: la piscine ressemble à un marécage! elle est \"en traitement\"! riche idée en juillet, en Vaucluse! deuxième déception: le flacon de gel douche/shampoing est vide! Etre mouillé et sous la douche et s'apercevoir qu'il n'y a pas de produit, dans un hôtel de ce niveau, c'est inacceptable. \"vous auriez du m'appeler\" me dit la personne de la réception (accueil français cette fois, péremptoire)...donc, nu et mouillé, il faut retraverser la chambre pour appeler la réception et attendre dans la climatisation qu'on vous apporte un gel douche! eh bien, non! Cet incident me vaudra un café offert SUR MA DEMANDE!! un café sinon à 5 euros alors qu'il s'agit juste d'une machine automatique dans laquelle il faut aller se servir! Heureusement, je ne prends pas de sucre, sinon il aurait pu coûter 5 euros également! restaurant fermé le mardi.
Bref, une impression très très mitigée!
il serait bon en 2025 dans un hôtel de cette catégorie, d'avoir une station de recharge pour véhicule électrique digne de ce nom (il y a une simple prise électrique classique!!!), du café/thé dans les chambres!! Encore merci pour l'accueil polonais!!

Amazing place for summer poolside vacation

Chateau de Mazan was a completely amazing place two spend two warm summer days on. Beautiful building, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful pool and pool area. The Mazan village was very cute and picturesque, and we had a lovely dinner at a place very close to the hotel our first night. We did not get a spot on the property parking lot, but that was not a problem at all as there was a free public parking just a few steps away.

Beau château qui mériterait un coup de propre à l’extérieur. La chambre était bel. Nous pensions que la dépendance faisait partie de l’enceinte du château, dommage que ça soit un immeuble à coté qui n’a pas de charme.
La chambre était spacieuse. Ventilation du chauffage très bruyante. Bon petit déjeuner.

N’en vaut pas la peine

C est un lieu de passage et non de séjour, en effet beaucoup de familles avec des enfants en bas âges et il est impossible de s’y reposer, la piscine manque d’espace et vous ne trouverez pas toujours de place sur les transats. Le prix des consommations est exorbitant. Nous avons été très déçus de ce séjour.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au château de Mazan. Le personnel est particulièrement accueillant, souriant et disponible, véritablement aux petits soins. Le directeur de l’établissement est très présent et fait preuve d’une proximité avec la clientèle qui est très appréciable. Le cadre est somptueux, un bâtiment ancien rénové avec qualité et décoré avec goût. La chambre était parfaitement propre et dispose d’une literie très confortable. La piscine est très apaisante, entourée de verdures. Un véritable lieu de repos. Nous serions ravis de revenir !

Pendant 5 nuits nous n’avons pas eu de climatisation dans les 3 chambres que nous avions réservé malgré nos signalements permanents. Impossible de dormir à cause de la chaleur, cela nous a gâché notre séjour.
