The property was nice, had some markets close by and some options for restaurants, you could hear the music from the club a couple buildings down all night, which drew me to go out and hang at the club all night, the beds were like sleeping on concrete. The staff was very nice and professional, and allowed me to have a late check out, overall 4 stars.

No creo que sea 3 estrellas, esta propiedad debe ser 2 estrellas entonces fue impactante.
1. El área es bastante gris y sola, me dio miedo desde que llegué.
2. Así mismo, en la noche llegué de vuelta y tenían trabada la puerta de entrada (asumo lógicamente por seguridad) pero me quedé afuera unos minutos mientras abrían y me puso nerviosa toda esa situación.
3. El pasillo estaba oscuro, no fue hasta que consulté si no tenían iluminación que me dijeron que tenía que prenderla yo (y dónde).
4. La ducha es un chorro de agua, no tenía regadera.
5. El agua caliente hay que esperar varios minutos a que salga - en el lavamanos nunca me salió caliente.
6. El televisor era bastante viejo, le daba una sensación más tétrica a la habitación.
7. Se oía todos los ruidos del pasillo.
8. Siento que con algunas de estas cosas, el staff pudo haber advertido (iluminación del pasillo, agua caliente)

Different from the photos

The photos are deceptive. The room was much more worn out than the pictures showed. Also, I was quite shocked to find that on the bathroom mirror there was a large etched, drawing of a naked woman, not ideal when traveling with little kids!
The area also seemed unsafe, so maybe OK for a quick night’s stay before the flight, being close to the airport.
The weather is quite cold, and the blankets provided were insufficient.
The breakfast was quite simple, but tasty on the upper level, and honestly was the only positive during our stay.

El peor hotel al que he ido, pague la reservacion y cuando mis familiares llegaron al hotel le cobraron 90mil adicionales porque era politica de ellos. El baño inundado, entregaron el cuarto con 1 cama menos del de la reserva. Cuando mis familiares pagaron los 90 mil extra no le querian entregar recibo de pago. El desayuno super mal. De verdad no se los recomiendo.

First, they have no shuttle, even that they say they have. Then it took 20 minutes to give us the room. The room was terrible, the bathroom with no toilet paper, then when we beeded to check out, the hold us there until they check the room… .in case we broke something… .never again

The room I booked was way outdated
The Jacuzzi didn’t work, missing the drain plug so I couldn’t fill the tub. Once I recived the plug it took an hour and a half to fill with warm water (only using hot water, with the cold off)
Couldn’t sleep because the staff was so loud all night!
Walls are really thin so you can people talking throw the hallway....
beds were soooo hard!

area is small business and as such it looks deserted after 8 pm-
it is just fine for 1 night as in my case.
room is on the small side, bed is comfortable, bathroom was cramped around the toilet and sink with a HUGE shower area, staff is professional, breakfast is edible coffee is ok by american stamdards but sucks from a european perspective.
if you arrive to Bogota around 11:00PM they will not pick you up from the airport and have to hire a taxi -watch out for the taxi fares they ask for 49k pesos for a ride that normally costs 10k to 15 k.

It is a MOTEL (for couple)

This was previously (if not still) a Motel... for couples for a few hours...
I didn't know that, even the pictures I saw from the \"hotel\" are totally different.
This is a TERRIBLE place, pretty ugly and dangerous neighborhood. I was there with my son 1 year old for 1 night and would never recommend the hotel. The only good thing was the bed, yes it was comfortable, other than that, the room smelled nasty, the carpet, you did not want to stand on it barefoot, the bathroom looked really bad....

Decent hotel close to the airport

A good choice for a super cheap place to stay near the airport. The room was ok. Bed fairly comfortable etc. the breakfast was simple but sufficient. Not a bad place to crash if you have a early flight out of Bogota and don't want to battle traffic, or even if you get in late and don't want to splurge on a pricey hotel on arrival.

This is the only hotel in Fontibon but next time we will stay closer to the airport. It was noisy from the busy street and we had to ask for an interior room for the second night. The bed was also small for two adults. The second night we had separate beds.

Only major things I didn't like was that the room did not have a desk upon which to work with my laptop. Although I suspect they did have other, larger rooms that did have a desk. I wouldn't call in a 'business hotel' unless it had at least a desk. The intenet seemed not to work in my first room but they moved me around the corner with no problem and the internet worked there. Also I had a mysterious leak from the bathroom toilet that, for a day or so until it just mysteriously stopped, keep water on the bathroom floor.

Otherwise, the staff was nice. The breakfast wasn't great but it was OK (would have been nice if the juice was cold). If you walk outside on the rooftop, be care of those metal rods that stick up out of the ground. You could easily trip and break your neck (I watch one lady spill her coffee but it was too late to warn her). They ought to tie some yellow ribbons on those things.

If you stay here, there's a nice little Colombian local restaurant out the door and to the right....about a 2 minutes walk. They have good ice cream too. And there's also a produce market where you can by some apples, bananas or pretty much any other kind of produce you want (for a snack in your room). Just pass that there's also a local grocer which all the normal things a local grocer has in Colombia (milk, water, candy, etc.)

I didn't find the are to be particularly threatening....pretty much a working class neighborhood during the day and virtually nobody around at night.

It was just a passing by , we had a 10 hours gap . The hotel is in a very common neiberhood, not turistic but normal. Has a Catholic Cathedral near by. The hotel is not fancy, but it was Ok for what we need bath, bed and breakfast.

This hotel is very close to the airport compared to other options. But for comforts & good rest this is not a good option. I am very use to bogota so I slept good with the noise but being on 5th floor the cars seemed to be inside with you. Very noisy & very cold. The barrio has a few options for decent eating in the 15,000 peso range but is dangerous compared to other barrios in the north. The hotel is older and I wouldn't stay here again. There are other option for just a few dollars more & 3 times better. The wifi would not work in the room & i had to go to other floors with my computer. The reception staff was very nice & let me check in very early were the only positives with my stay.

OK for the price

I had a flight arriving at midnight. They picked me up at the airport, one bed room, breakfast and shuttle to the airport next morning 6 am. Yummy breakfast, all that for US $20! You can't beat that. Location is NOT to walk around. Hotel is 8 minutes from the airport. I will do it again if I am flying solo.

Overall a great value .

There. was no heat! You get only one free van ride, either to or from the airport , area kind of rough,close to airport but far from everything else. Breakfast was OKAY but nothing special . If you want to invite a friend to your room, it's another 50,000 pesos even for only a few minutes . The room was clean,WiFi worked most of the time Well worth the price.

Very good value for money. Staff on reception were very nice - however waiter at breakfast was pretty moody.

Perfect for an airport stop-over. Taxi driver told me the area is very dangerous and not to go out at night. So if you want a comfortable bed for a reasonable price then this is fine.

Neighborhood Being Reclaimed

Being one of the oldest neighborhoods (once separate from Bogota) it is expected to be a little run-down. This was a stay over and economy choice for me but I was pleasantly surprised. It was adequate and secure and the surroundings were at first glance misleading. It appears to be in transition - new young professional and families are reclaiming the area. Peppered renovations and new construction are found almost on every street. Convenient enough to airport but far enough to be outside of its direct influence. For my stay over completely adequate and the people very nice.

Good overnight stay

Stayed here due to flight out next day. Surrounding neighborhood is a little rough but mainly working class neigborhood with cantinas, cafes, markets. Room is very small with small flat screen tv with good cable channels. Shower did not have hot water. Free hot breakfast from 6am - 10am on top deck. Reserve free airport shuttle at front desk. Ride to airport is only 20 minutes, be sure to leave 3 hours before international flights. Tip the driver. Extra person in room or guest is an extra nominal charge. Front desk/bellstaff is nice and professional. Hotel is good value due to hot breakfast and free airport shuttle.

The hotel is clean, safe and cheap so it is ideal for an overnight stay after or before a flight. The hotel also provides a free airport shuttle service with limited hours. The neighbourhood is a bit industrial and very very local, there are some bars mainly strip clubs and a shopping mall within walking distance. I felt safe enough but would feel the same if I was with children or a female

Great Hotel but not great location

Hotel Fontibon is a very nice hotel, and service is nice. Employees strive to meet all your needs. With that said, the real negative part is the location. This is a business area concentrated on home repairs, etal. First time visitors to Bogota will have much difficulty in navigating, and will result in mandatory taxi use.

Economical Hotel Close by Airport

This hotel just south of Bogota's El Dorado Airport is a quick cab ride to and from the Airport and also a great golf course. For international travelers who want to stay on a budget, and who want to be close to the airport for the three hours before your flight some airlines require. Next door there is a great open vegetable stand and supermarket. Breakfast to order at the rooftop cafe is included. Have a cup of coffee while overlooking the busy Fontibon neighborhood. The rooms are small and offer pillow top mattresses on the firm side as I have come to expect in most Colombian hotels. I am definitely coming back soon. It is a bit noisy at the hotel due to the open air center atrium, so if the occassional noise from trucks or other guests may disturb you it may not br a fit for you. But at around 35 Dollars a night the place is a real bargain. ;)

Okay For Just Overnight Between Flights

The reason I gave this hotel such a low rating is because of several things that irritated us, There were no electrical outlets in the bathroom. The only electrical outlet that I could find was in the closet and behind the huge headboard (which was not accessible). There was no nightstand reading light. The elevator didn't work when we left in the morning. The Wifi was spotty at best. The staff was eager to please so that was a plus, each trying to speak to us in English and us trying to speak with them in Spanish. The hotel has a restaurant on the top floor which has a wonderful view, but there was no menu and no prices. No alcohol was served, only fruit juice. The hotel has a van to and from the airport. I recommend calling them from the airport rather than taking a taxi. We thought it would be more convenient to take a taxi and the driver told us that the area was too dangerous for us. He took us to another hotel in the opposite direction without our consent which turned out to be quite far from the airport. When we arrived at this other hotel, we refused and then insisted the cab driver take us to this hotel (which was already paid for) which was MUCH closer to the airport. He charged us $40 for a cab ride that should have been $8, but there was nothing we could do about it.

Hotel is conveniently located close to airport. Staff is friendly. Rooms are small, cold (no central heating), toilet seats were old and worn (needed to be replaced), poor insulation and sound proofing. We only stayed one night to be close to airport, it served our purpose. For the price it was a clean hotel to sleep in for a night.

Hotel is clean and good value. The neighborhood is not the safest I would not recommend walking around after dark take a taxi instead. The shuttle service to airport runs from 6 to 9:30 PM so if you arrive after 9:30 you'll need to take a taxi. WiFi service is in and out but this seems to be a problem in many places based on my travels to Bogota, Cartagena, and Santa Marta.

Unbeatable price, but DANGEROUS location

PROS: 1) Very nice hotel (clean and comfy bed), 2) An unbelievably low rate, 3) includes free breakfast, 4) nice staff, 5) very nice view from the roof top. CONS: 1) unreliable shuttle. I arrived at the airport at 9:30 PM and the free airport shuttle wasn't running, which meant that I had to pay a taxi to the hotel, 20,000 pesos (I tried to negotiate a lower rate but failed). I'm not sure when the shuttle service stops but I recommend that you confirm the shuttle time with the hotel prior to your arrival. Also, I had to kind of plead to have the shuttle available at 6:30 AM to bring me to the airport the next morning. Again, confirm the times you will need the shuttle if you make a reservation. 2) DANGEROUS area- the taxi driver told us not to walk around the area as any tourist will most likely get mugged. The hotel workers also told us not to go outside as well. Carrying a suitcase, backpack or looking like a tourist makes you a huge target. The front doors to the hotel are always locked until you knock on the door and they let you in. All of this made me a little nervous and paranoid about my safety. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well that night. I do not recommend this hotel if you believe any of the cons above would make you nervous.

A warm welcome in Bogota. One of the staff spoke enough English to sort out any queries and make sure we felt safe and welcome on our first night in Colombia. The breakfast was good and there was a panoramic view of the city the mountains and the rolling dark clouds from their roof top restaurant.

No me gustó qué ofrecen un desayuno y no te lo dan al menos en mi caso no me atendieron bien por consiguiente no desayuné los dos días que me hospede además qué el ruido de un auto baño que está a un costado es las 24 horas lo único que me gustó es el servicio de las mucamas señoras muy amables

pésima atención de recepcionista (horario noche)

Desde un principio a mi llegada del día 24/10 pretendía la recepcionista del horario de noche darme una habitación acabada de hacerles mantenimiento a la madera, la cual asfixiaba, luego otra hab y por último me dio una distinta porque le dije que me devolvieran mi dinero. Y el último día 26/10 salí de madrugada, al igual estaba la misma recepcionista nada simpática y con mal trato al cliente. Sugiero al hotel le den un curso para que atienda mejor a los clientes.
