I've had the pleasure of staying twice in the past two months at this very nice hotel, each time it was just great, from the moment we arrived there was Ivan at the door greeting us and later taking us to our room. Ivan is a pleasant person alway eager to help, I saw him helping other people with the same care, he is definitely and asset to this hotel. There were also the waiters at the restaurant, I'm sorry I forgot their names but there were just very friendly and courteous at all times. I also have to mention the nice people at the front desk always going out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. Is also necessary to say that my wife and I were guests of the hotel around 20 years ago and we were very happy to see that our last stay was as good perhaps even better than that prior time. During my stay an incident occurred that was at no fault of the hotel, but they were incredible in handling. Jose went above and beyond to make sure my stay was going well and checked in with me multiple times after the incident. I felt very cared for and was truly touched at the effort from the staff to ensure I was okay. Because I don’t speak Spanish it can be hard for me to communicate when visiting Latin America, but Jose was always available to translate for me to other staff. This was my second stay at Los Portales and I will definitely be back!

Hotel portage personnel are in dire need of better training. They need to KNOW that all luggage - with built in wheels - have two handles. One to LIFT the luggage - often used by airport ticket agent to insert the destination tags - and the other to TRANSPORT the luggage to its respective room. More often then not, porters take a short cut and used the Transport handles to LIFT the luggage causing unnecessary damage to the handle. I have seen the porter at your hotel lift my heavy luggage with the wrong handle at least twice! Additionally, ALL twin or double rooms should include TWO Towels per person: One large bath and one smaller one. We were given only the Large bath towel and, in our case, when we checked in, we were only given ONE towel! Given how nippy the weather was, closing the indoor dining room for a conference forced all of us to have breakfast out in the open area early in the morning. Your clients should have priority over corporate interest. In short, better training and more quality control should do the job. Otherwise , our stay was nice.

I have ordered several dishes for lunch and dinner and highly recommend the ronda nortena and ronda marina. Drinks, such as algorrobina and mojitos were well made. Highly recommend eating in the hotel.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Los Portales. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We don’t speak a ton of Spanish and still got by, many of the staff members spoke clear English. The pool is beautiful and the rooms are very clean. There was plenty of space in the room. The hotel is right by the town square and cathedral, we were in town from the US for a wedding. We were very satisfied with our stay.

It was a wonderful stay there, the staff went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Even the breakfast buffet was great, coffee was excellent and the selection was way beyond what you would find in an American hotel.

The hotel was ok,the problem was they have construccion outside the building, they start working at 10:00pm, the moise was terrible, we couldn't sleep, at 3:00am we asked for a new room far away from the street, the employee told us that the Expedia will return the cost of that night for that problem.

The facility is nice and the location is excellent. Most of the staff were very friendly, but I felt like I didn't have any privacy there. Some of the cleaning staff would knock on the door early in the morning to see if they could come in and clean my room instead of waiting until I left the room. Also, they do not seem used to hosting international guests (unwanted stares, questions, etc.). Although I am fluent in Spanish and ordered room service two times without a problem, the third time a younger guy answered the phone and he sounded high and hung up on me.

It may be the nicest hotel in piura. Located right on la plaza e las armas. The pool was spotless. In fact, the local paper listed it as one of only 5 or 6 pools in piura that meet all health safety standards.

My husband booked two rooms one for us and for my daughter and her two grand sons. They charge us 50 dollars for my granddaughter, who was the third occupant of the room. I considered that is too expensive. The food also was very expensive about 20% above of an average restaurants in town. The service was OK and the hotel was clean.

Very disappointed, when attempting to make a reservation thru Expedia something went wrong with the dates I had selected, and it got changed to September 18, I wanted to make reservations for 3 days in November, but Los Portales Hotel refused to cancel the wrong reservation due to their policies. Expedia contacted Juliet but she denied the reimbursement.

Hotel staff was helpful, knowing a little more English would be nice, but we did well. Room was clean and, comfortable. Little couet yard in the center, amd tiny pool were a wonderdul suprise. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Piura is a noisy and crowded city. Los Portales is a classy respite right on the plaza. All the staff was very attentive. The restaurant accommodated special requests very graciously.
