We can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. We are experienced travellers and this hotel is a standout. Location and beach are perfect. We went to several other beaches miles away and found this beach to the best. Breakfast is very good with lots of fresh fruit and pastries. The staff were all helpful. Short drive to town with tons of restaurant choice. The room ( sea view) is a tad small but cute with a lovely view. Sad to leave.

Hi , We loved the property. The beach was clear beautiful water and clean from any weeds no rocks.
The best part was we had a dedicated beach umbrella and supper table. All the staff was super professional.

Nice Setting, But Disappointing Stay

The hotel’s private beach is a big plus, especially in Sardinia during peak season. The pool is beautiful, and the beach and pool staff were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, our suite was swarming with mosquitoes and had cobwebs throughout. It felt more like a basement unit than a premium room. While we were moved to a better room on the last night, it wasn’t enough to improve the overall experience.

Breakfast was repetitive and buffet-style, which I found unhygienic. The restaurant food was average, overpriced, and also served buffet-style on two nights. If you stay here, rent a car—there are much better local dining options nearby.

This hotel might suit older guests or families who prefer quiet evenings, as everything shuts down after 10 PM.

We won’t be returning—Sardinia is stunning, but this hotel didn’t live up to expectations.

That is a hidden gem in Alghero area with its beautiful private beach and clear water.
My wife and I have enjoyed our stay for sure.

Pros:
- Amazing beach which is the most important thing for us
- Wonderful view from our ocean view room
- Very friendly and helpful staff very well trained from front desk to bars, restaurants and house keeping
- Renovated bathroom with great waterfall shower head
- Great service
- Mice pool
- Cleanliness
- Proximity to Alghero down town which is great for sight seeing and local experiences

Cons:
- Bed and mattress were uncomfortable due to double bed and not king size.
- No complimentary Nespresso machine in room
- No room service after certain time
- Not too many food options. Most likely you will want to try surrounding restaurants

Would advise to rent a car and have it with you so you can drive around easily if you need to go somewhere and most likely you will for dinning, excursions...etc.
We did that and it was very helpful.

Will we do it again. Definitely yes!

This hotel is in amazing area and perfect beach. Food at the restaurant was one of the best we tried in Sardinia. Next to the hotel are more beaches walking distance and with a small hike. My only complain was the bedroom, we had junior suite with ocean view which was amazing but the bed was bad and is cover with a plastic to protect the mattress which causes a lot of heat, also bathroom a little uncomfortable. Just for the price room could be a little bit better.

Amazing stay at Hotel dei Pini for 4 nights in October with variety of activities to do and many options in the restaurant.

Seaview/beach access room: clean and organized well, good lighting and a lovely patio with easy access to the beach. Quiet throughout the night.

Restaurant: Breakfast buffets available daily with a decent amount of suitable options. Dinner was great with many options, as well as a Mediterranean buffet on Monday. We skipped lunch, but enjoyed some drinks at the bar in the afternoons.

Beach side: the beach is beautiful and has clear water, with mostly soft sand and some rocky terrain around. Recliner beach chaise (chairs) were available often, even though some other guests would sometimes put towels to hold them up. Great view of the sunrise.

Water activities available beach side:
-Kayaking: available for single and doubles. This was fun with many views around the coast and great for any beginner!
-Motorized Boat: fits 3 people well, up to 4 comfortably. We rented the boat for 4 hours and traveled around the coast to the Capo Caccia and Isola di Foradada. We were instructed on how to operate the boat and all safety measures prior to leaving. Plenty of time to sightsee, as well as to take a dip in the waters.

Pool: clean waters and not so busy because most guests rather go to the beach. Great view of the sunset. Poolside drinks/snacks available to order.

Overall, amazing experience and well worth every minute of it! 5/5 would recommend!

A beautiful hotel and property, with a fantastic staff. The private beach is perfect along with the pool area. The food in the breakfast buffet, and its location was a nice way to start the day. In my opinion this is thee place to stay if travelling to Alghero. We got upgraded to a beach side main floor room with a spacious patio and really appreciated that!! As with a lot of Italian hotels, we didn't have a coffee maker in the room, so that wasn't a big deal considering all the benefits of staying here. From what I understand we could have had a tea kettle and tea brought to the room, but we're Canadians and we love our coffee, lol!!

The staff was very friendly and responsive. Although the property was clean, the beach is nothing like they show on their site. The beach is extremely small and is surrounded by rocks of both sides. We were hoping to stay at a resort with a beach that Sardinia is known for... this was not the place to experience that.

Great beach right on the property. Great food - on Wednesday they had a suckling pork roast right in outdoor area of the restaurant. Location is also great - 10 min drive to Alghero, 1 hour to La Pelosa beach (most famous on West Coast).

The only thing I would suggest is to have a coffee machine in the room.

Overall, highly recommend. One of the best hotels we stayed at in Sardinia.

The beach is amazing. Sandy clear waters. Breakfast is wonderful too with amazing views. The hotel was somewhat lacking with amenities and the staff are lacking personal touch. Went down to the beach, and there were plenty of chairs available, but were told they were already reserved by other guest. No one ever showed up. Not sure if the worker wanted a bribe or tip.

But overall for what we wanted, which was a hotel on the beach, it does provide that. If I came back to this region of sardina, not sure if I would pick again, but not upset either.

Our stay in the hotel was very good in general. Nice location and beach, nice and cozy restaurant with great evening views.
We’ve got flexible room - first room was okey, second - a bit outdated and in very noisy place. It was not possible to get smoothing-iron in the room. We were offered to use their service, which had to be ordered 48 hours in advance. It’s not convenient at all.

THIS HOTEL IS A FRAUD. DO. NOT. Ever waste your money here. THIS IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL. THIS “HOTEL” is not a hotel but it is a self service camping lodge. The only thing that’s nice is the beach but to be honest there are many nicer beaches in Sardinia. The management of this hotel is embarrassing - the staff is rude and they lie about their amenities. Food is disgusting and frozen and extremely over priced and you have to ask the manger to get anything done because the staff says it’s not possible for simple amenities. Honestly disgusted at their customer service - and they refused to refund my stay and let me leave the hotel. Filled with screaming children and low class people. this hotel is DISGUSTING. DO NOT STAY HERE

Beautiful property marred by indifferent staff

You’re paying for the beautiful view, private beach and not much else. The only friendly staff member during our stay was the bartender. Check in was less than helpful. We were given no information and upon asking for restaurant options for dinner we were told we could check to see if the bar was open. The manager reached out to me upon my starting this review but didn’t ask specifically what went wrong, which made it feel like an exercise to cover bases instead of an effort to improve the experience. The morning of our checkout we were offered to stay the whole day, but we already had a schedule. Again, the late offer seemed disingenuous. Understanding changes have been made to accommodate safe accommodations during COVID, breakfast service was long, inattentive, and some of our party left without eating due to the lack of attention. We also booked this hotel due to special gold perks including hotel credit, which we were never able to use due to weird restaurant hours. We loved Sardegna but won’t be back to this hotel.

Hotel dei Pini was in a lovely, somewhat remote, part of Alghero. Rooms were as expected- similar to others in the region you have to place your key card in for AC, lights etc. we found the AC wasn’t very strong but it could be because they pride themselves on being eco friendly. They take it very seriously- I stay in tons of hotels that say they won’t replace towels if you hang them but then do it anyway and this place did not- we went to the beach and could have used some fresh ones but we called and they brought them up quickly.
I wished they had been more excited to share a little about the area or recommend something besides the on property restaurant.
Like many European restaurants, restaurant timings are limited. The food at the Panorama restaurant was very good but would have wanted to explore more local areas. Breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing particularly standout.

The beach on the property was amazing and they have activities for a fee - very reasonable ($10/hr for kayaks)

Advice: have a rental car to get around. We took the city bus which was OK but would have been nicer to drive and stop and the many agroturismo/farms and explore other beaches

Sea view rooms are the only way to go!

Ask about special nights at the restaurant- one night we got lucky and had roasted suckling pig that the area is known for

Bring your own water/snacks if you want to save a bit!

Very pristine, clean and quiet hotel, right on the beach, beautiful large and safe area for sea swimming, modern bathroom, beautiful large pool, incredibly helpful and sweet staff, lovely outdoor terrace and outdoor dining, great food/local wine list. Live music several times per week! There is a seasonal beach bus going to Alghero, the bus stop is right across street from hotel, thus easy to get to town.

This hotel is located right on the beach. This makes a big difference when you are on these kind of holidays. It resides in the reserve park surrounded by nature and beautiful pine trees. Whilst the area is bit remote, access to the hotel was very easy. if you rent a car it is worth visiting the beautiful city of Algerho (15/20min drive). We went for B&B therefore were bit more flexible when we want to dine i.e. hotel or Algerho city. Both very nice experiences. Only down side of the hotel is that there is no much entertainment during the day or in the evening.

The reason you should stay at this hotel is its location and like any property based decision, location is the key. When I say this hotel is right on the beach, I mean you step out of the hotel, on to the beach, the next step is your sun bed and 3 more steps and you are in the gently lapping wavelets of your own secluded beach. We stayed for 6 nights on B&B in a superior room with sea view, room 90, it was great watching the sunrise over Alghero or having night caps looking at the starry sky or the twinkling evening lights of Alghero. Breakfast was fine , though the weekend girls seemed less than enthusiastic at clearing up which created a wait one morning. The bar was always dead, it was more expensive than it needed to be. Cocktails at €9 looked expensive given they are €6 round the next beach in Lazzaretto, so we bought beer and wine at a supermarket in Alghero for our aperitivo and we ate out every evening so cannot comment on the restaurant. There is loads to see and do from this hotel, and getting to/from Alghero airport is soooo easy, if you hire a car. We had a Nissan Qumquat for a little over £20 a day from Avis/Budget. The staff in the hotel were very pleasant and always responsive when we had questions. We stayed from 4th-10th Oct 2018.

The staff is friendly and accommodating, the grounds are well kept and the food in the beach bar is both good and reasonably priced (for a hotel). There are 3 types of sea view rooms so you must be careful when booking as they do not all match the pictures on the website

My Vacation to Sardinia 2018

The hotel was clean and modern. The front desk staff (hey Claudia) was VERY helpful and professional. The restaurant staff (hey Luisa) was fantastic. The dinner menu was delicious. The beech was right there and perfect. When I finally move to Europe - in 2020 - I will return to the Hotel dei Pini and I hope to see some of the great staff still there. I felt like I was part of their \"family\" during my stay.

Fantastic staff and great location. I was initially disappointed with our room, it seemed rather dark so we were extremely impressed the following day, by the offer to upgrade us to one of the newly renovated room. However, we had been lulled off to sleep on our first night by the sound of the sea and could watch the waves roll in from our bed, so we decided to stay put. We’re really glad we did as we grew to love our room and appreciate its position overlooking the beach. I think our initial reaction may have been influenced by the unseasonal weather. During our 10 days we experienced rain, wind, sun, more rain, more sun and witnessed a spectacular thunderstorm from our balcony. All this was rounded off by a magical full moon reflecting on the water on our last night. The hotel rooms are being upgraded, the new showers are really contemporary, and even though it’s original 60’s grandeur may be a little faded around the edges it has a charm and style of its own, not least because there’s a great team working at the hotel, we can’t praise the staff highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble all the staff were professional, courteous and friendly. We’d definitely go back again.

Beautiful!

Stunning hotel right on the beach with clear turquoise water. Location is perfect. 10 mins from Alghero airport, set between pine trees. Views at the hotel are out of this world - we were not using swimming pool yet still came to enjoy views.
Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone went out of their way to please us. Everyone from hotel personnel speak good English and communication was very easy.
We had ground floor seaview room with large patio opening right onto the beach and couldn't be happier with the room especially since we traveled with a toddler. Was very convenient. Room was spotlessly cleaned every day but as it's a green hotel towels were not changed on a daily basis and we had no problem with it.
Breakfast was good with variety of local cheeses, meats, veg, fruit and cereals as well as different pastries and cakes etc. It was similar daily with some variation but we enjoyed it. There are some options that you could have for a supplement but we didn't use those. Coffee is from the self service machine instant type, but also freshly brewed one is available at no extra cost.
Hotel restaurant was not our favourite. There's nothing wrong with it - just many more lively ambient places to eat in town. Oh and hotel don't make pizza-only shortcut version one at the lobby bar. We had three dinners at the hotel and enjoyed Sardinian night the most.
Can go on forever.
Just book it and definitely hire a car.

Hotel located in a very nice quite area, in a pine forest next to the beach, nice parking. Looks secluded but is close to the city of Alghero and many beaches and tourist attractions . Room a bit small but enough for a relaxed stay , awesome view if you stay on the sea side. Breakfast ok , not impressive but Ok, lunch much better than expected in the small beach bar restaurant.
Nice small private beach with bed and umbrellas, need to pay for towels but that's fine in Italy, we get used to it.

Hotel dei Pini is located in a picturesque area with a beautiful private beach. We booked a sea view room on the second floor and it was very well appointed, clean and modern. Beautiful walk-in shower with excellent hot water and rain-head fixture. One beach restaurant for more casual eating and one formal restaurant on a terrace overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was a buffet with the same options of antipasti, croissants, sweets, and cereals. Lunch and dinner changed every day at the formal restaurant and was good but expensive. The reserved lounge chairs and crystal clear waters on the white sandy beach were the best part of our stay and we would not hesitate to go back again. This was the last stop of our three-week vacation in Italy and it was exactly what was needed - rest and relaxation in paradise. Thank you, Hotel dei Pini. Ciao ciao!

My wife and I have just spent 5 nights at this very \"lovely hotel\" and had a wonderful time. The Hotel is well worth its 4 stars, the staff are friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble to them.
There is a bus stop opposite the hotel and the journey into the old town takes 15/20 minutes and costs 1.30 euros, very reasonable and enjoyable.

Best access to a stunning private beach

This was my second visit to Hotel dei Pini. The accommodation product is simple. The newly renovated bathrooms are a great improvement. A mere ten minutes drive from Alghero Airport and you are at a respectable and peaceful hotel with good facilities, within a stunning pine forest in front of a beautiful beach which is reserved strictly for the hotel guests. The hotel restaurants and bar are of good quality and can cover all meals of the day plus snacks. What more could you ask from your vacation? Looking forward to my next visit already.

Beautiful beach hotel - modern but local

If you're looking for a real beach hotel, don't go any further, Hotel Dei Pini is just IT. Some rooms have sea view and some even (triple rooms) direct access to the beach via the veranda. Breakfast is very tasty as well as the food \"a la carte\" for the diner or lunch. For kids, they have a mini-club with the animator few hours per day (it works only in the main season).

Pro's - Really nice hotel in a good location on the beech.
Con's - Terrible restaurant, snooty waiter with a bad attitude, pre/re heated dry food. Beach is really busy and the beach peddlers sit on the hotel sunbeds to sell their stuff or to have a rest which is a bit unsettling and I'm suprised the management allow this happen. Finally the sea is very very cold here from some strange reason, not like anywhere else on the Island (we stayed at 4 other hotels/locations)

Beautiful private beach

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The private beach did not disappoint. The use of sun loungers and an umbrella, with no extra cost, made me very happy. The pool was also fantastic, very well maintained with stunning views over the bay.
We were very glad of the beach shuttle bus into Alghero, as we didn't hire a car. This stopped right by the Hotel gates.
However, our twin room was smaller than we would have liked, it would have been more suitable for one person, not two! The Staff at the hotel were very helpful but the same cannot be said for the main restaurant waiters I'm afraid!

Pleasant Hotel and Location

The major plus point of the Hotel is its location on the beach and the reservation of your sunbeds for the period of your stay. However, if you wish to visit the area or town of Alghero you will definitely require a car. The room and facilities were fine but the staff, in the main, were unwelcoming (particularly in the dining room). Breakfast selection was predominantly Continental style and I was charged additionally for two fried eggs!!!, which, for a four star hotel I felt was somewhat out of order. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel for the simple reason we felt it was expensive and the selection of food was restrictive. Overall, a pleasant enough stay but could have been so much better.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer der einfachsten Kategorie mit Blick auf Pinien/Parkplatz - aber man ist ja nur zum Schlafen drin. Die Hotelanlage ist sehr gepflegt, und der Bombarde-Beach mit hoteleigenem Abschnitt ist wunderschön. Tolle Gartenanlage, toller Pool mit Aussicht bis nach Alghero. Licht und Schatten. So lala …

Hotel und Lage sind Top. Strand, Zimmer, Bad alles perfekt. Parken sehr gut. Einzig: Personal in der Beach Bar ist auffallend sehr unfreundlich. Denn, Rezeption, Bar und beim Frühstück ist freundlicher.
Liege und Sonnenschirm in 1. Reihe für 50,- € ist Abzocke.

Ce n’est clairement pas un 4 étoiles. L’hôtel est vieux et nécessite une véritable rénovation. Odeur provenant de la climatisation nauséabonde dans la chambre et malgré le signalement rien n’a été fait. Attribution de places occupées sur la plage alors que la moitié des places sont libres… les seuls points positifs sont la gentillesse du personnel du petit déjeuner et la vue.

Bien situé mais assez moyen

Hotel idéalement situé avec une belle vue mer.
Chambre basique, lit assez médiocre, accueil très agréable. Nous avons eu une chambre vue mer alors que nous ne l'avions pas réservée. Mais on entend beaucoup la mer ce qui ne facilite pas 'le sommeil.

Es ist eine schöne Location, direkt am Strand und schönes Meer. Dennoch muss man die halben Ferien an der Bar verbringen, da der Service von der Bar sehr langsam ist. Zudem ist es auch unhöflich. Anders sieht dies im Restaurant direkt neben an aus… da kommt das Essen sehr schnell und ist sehr lecker. Das Personal im Restaurant ist sehr höflich, so könne es an der Bar auch sein :)
