I have been staying at Rex Hotel for several years. Everything so far has been top notch. This time though, there was no welcome drink, and they didn't give the free drink voucher for the rooftop bar on the fifth floor. I had booked a Governer King Suite but they still, there was no drink freebie. Disappointed.
One more thing. They gave me a voucher for free 15-minute spa/massage located on the 6th floor. It closes at 10:30 pm. I reached there at 9:40 pm and saw CLOSED sign. One woman called Linh opened the door, only to tell me they cannot accommodate me because there's already a customer scheduled. She was extremely rude and lacked patience. She even raised her voice while talking with me. Finally she relented when I said I just wanted foot massage. She asked one of the massage therapist to massage my feet but the therapist sucked big time. The thing is, if they could not accommodate a customer before 10:30 pm, they should hire more therapists. Also, if all the therapists were busy, how was I accommodated? It clearly showed these people at the Spa location want money without working. I guess they just love to scam foreigners. Linh was very rude, very loud and very unprofessional. The massage therapist who attended to me needs a lot of training. If the spa closes at 10:30 pm, they have no business to hang the \"CLOSED\" sign at 9:40 pm.They will try their best to turn you away. That's all I have to say about the massage service located on the 6th floor of Rex Hotel building.

The Rex wax one of the best stays I’ve had in a while and I travel for work regularly and stay in a lot of hotels. The staff are incredibly helpful, efficient, and pleasant. My room was lovely, spacious, clean, great amenities. I was on the side of main traffics which may not appeal to everyone but I liked watching the nightlife and I am a sound sleeper. The hotel is located in the heart of the city so many things are within walking distance. The restaurants on property are great and breakfast comes with the stay which is also an outstanding buffet breakfast which everything you can think of.

Room was clean and spacious but all these positives notes were somewhat ruined by absence of hot water. Tried to run the shower for 15 mins and water was barely lukewarm. I only stayed 1 night, but for a 5 star they should not have this issue.

We got right up to the check in desk, but it took over 20 minutes to get checked in. The girl was very nice though. Our room was very disappointing, with major construction going on right below our room. We wanted to relax before going out, but the room was reverberating with loud music & someone screaming on a microphone for over 90 minutes. We finally called the front desk & they said they would investigate. Couldn't take it any more, so went to leave hotel. The girl that had checked us in confirmed that there was a major party going on in the room below ours. They didn't offer to move us or compensate us... they just basically said sorry about your bad luck. Rooftop bar was supposed to be famous, which was why we went WAY out of our way to stay there. But the food was terrible & the wines worse. Overall not at all worth the ridiculous amount of money we spent. Service was very slow. The one positive was the lovely breakfast buffet, but they charged us $5 for a glass of orange juice at the buffet. What? We've traveled extensively on 6 continents & this place was a huge disappointment.

Reading some of the negative comments made me wonder if those guests were even staying at the same hotel as I was. The Rex Hotel has been nothing short of exceptional—even before I arrived. If I could, I would give them 10 stars.
I missed my flight and couldn’t make it for the first two nights of my prepaid stay. The front desk team, especially Ms. Loan, worked tirelessly with Expedia to ensure my mom (who arrived earlier) could check in safely with my cousin on my behalf. That alone speaks volumes.
