The Graben hotel is perfect for those exploring Vienna, being a few feet from the vibrant Stephansplatz, giving you instant access to the Cahedral and all around. The hotel itself is magnificent with staff who will try to help you no matter what the query. The rooms could do with bigger TV's but seriously for the location and the bonus of having one of the best Italian restaurants that I have ever eaten in attached to it (and yes, I have been to Italy) The Graben is unbeatable.

In 3.5 weeks of traveling through 8 European countries, this was our WORST experience! The staff smokes right behind the counter, despite the \"Smoking-Free Floor\" signs in the hotel. Air conditioning? No! Just an internal fan unit, not connected to a real air conditioner. As a result, two people in a tiny room suffocate at night. An open window is also not an option because the street is crowded and noisy 24/7. The room is tiny, the shower is tiny, everything about the interior is cheap and sloppy. The nearest parking they recommend is 2 km away. Unloading and loading luggage is a hassle. I would give this place only one star only because it is located in the very center of Vienna. But I would never go back to this hotel anymore.

This hotel is a few minutes from the Cathedral, in a central pedestrianised area, easy to walk to many of the places you would want to visit. Hotel amenities super clean. Restaurant if you want to eat there in the evening, recommended. Excellent breakfast options, good coffee! Very friendly staff. I would book again.

The location is a 10. Located downtown minutes to museums and the walking area. We stayed there in August. The weather was HOT. Though there was A/C (split unit) in the room, it was barely making a difference - looked old. The staff gave us a fan that helped. A/C really needs a tech re-fresh. I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get. Old building with just a little of re-fresh. Bathroom was outdated in our room. The main thing going for this hotel is its location. one elevator for the entire hotel.

We especially liked the location of the Graben Hotel. It was directly in the historic district, so it easy to the attractions we liked. The rooms were adequately sized, clean with all of he amenities we needed. The staff was extremely helpful. One staff member even walked us to a location because he realized it was a complicated route to get there.

We stayed at The Graben Hotel for 3 nights in April and we had a really good stay and would highly recommend. We were able to check in early as our room was available. The hotel is really conveniently located right in the centre of Vienna which made it walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit and meant we could go back during the day. The staff were very helpful with advice and information for travelling around the city using public transport. We had breakfast included for our stay which made things much easier for us and there was a good choice of food available. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant which we ate at on the first night and the food was really good and the staff were very friendly.

The room is rather small but the setup is very good and we managed to unload our suitcases. The hotel is quiet and very well maintained. there are a few restaurants in the same street. Try Buffet Trzesniewski - a selection of small sandwiches with a glass of something (beer, sekt, wine, or vodka)!

While the hotel is located right in a heart of everything, it feels very private and quiet. I was travelling by myself and chose the smallest room. But it was big enough and very comfortable with everything that I needed. My stay included breakfast which was excellent! Huge variety and delicious. The staff was beyound friendly. They even packed me a breakfast \"to go\" on a day of departure since I was leaving very early. If I travel to Vienna again, this will be my stay again.

This hotel is centrally located near most of the sites. Central Vienna is very walkable and safe. Lots of shopping and restaurants to enjoy. Most of the staff were helpful with a few exceptions but we learned not all Viennese are personable sometimes when asking for directions or questions we felt as if we were bothering them. But one would think in the hospitality business they would try to step it up. But it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again.

The breakfast buffet was included, and there was a wide variety of options. We also ate at the Italian restaurant on the premises, which was good. Lots of amenities in the bathroom, including Q-tips. The great: location, downstairs restaurant for dinner, nice of them to bring a cake for my birthday. The bad: beds very uncomfortable and creaky, pillows basically flat (but thankfully they brought us more pillows upon request) hotel is non smoking but it reeks of smoke in the upstairs hallways, the front desk kind of unhelpful - asked them for a restaurant recommendation for birthday dinner and the reply was “whatever you want, they’re all good” which was possibly the least helpful advice ever.

The bed was very hard - they need to update their mattresses. The A/C went out on a very hot weekend and we were told they could not fix it until the following day. We slept with the windows open and MAJOR construction right outside at sunrise.

The best feature of this hotel is its central location, a few steps from the main commercial area of the Graben. The rooms we had (on two separate stays in this trip) were quite small which made unpacking of two suitcases very challenging. The bathroom was small but comfortable.
The staff was good but not overly helpful. That is, they would help with your requests, but didn’t go way out of their way. The taxi service they provided to the airport was comfortable and reasonable. I would probably stay again there because of the convenience.

The best feature of the hotel is its location. A few steps from the Graben pedestrian area, it’s hard to beat. The only unpleasant thing was that both times we checked in they required up front payment. This is the first time it has happened to us. One arrives and wishes to quickly get to your room and relax but we had to settle the bill before entering our room. Otherwise the service was quite good and they were very accommodating. The room is small though and it’s difficult to open more than one suitcase.

Perfect Location.Good Breakfast.Italian restaurant belonging to hotel very good but, after we signed the evening meal receipt and asked for it to go on our bill, the waiter came back and asked us to put a tip on it, which made us feel uncomfortable. We did find out later 'though, that this seemed to be the norm in most of the Vienna restaurants. Very clean hotel.Room needed more comfort, better tea & coffee facilities (maybe a kettle instead of the coffee machine and pods)and the shower need modernising Would have been nice to have complimentary bottled water in the room instead of having to buy it. For me, the location gives this hotel its 4 star rating but I would consider it a 3 star otherwise. It suited our short trip but probably wouldn't stay here again.
