The accommodation was good however we book the property leaving. There was a game room and swimming pool when we arrived. The swimming pool was not available and the games room was nonexistent.

Madison's needs to up its game if it is going to honourably charge the prices it currently does.

The stove hotplates did not heat up meaning we could not cook in the cabin much to our disappointment. Equally, the labelling on the stove top was worn out and it required imaginative ingenuity how to turn on and which direction for any heat at all. Dangerous I think.

The lighting in the cabin is absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. One side lamp in the main area with the lowest wattage bulb imaginable!

The decor is dated and slightly offensive indicating lack of respect of the paying guests,

The pool and hot tube were laughably arctic in temperature. Sitting in an ice cold jacuzzi is ridiculous if not unhealthy. There was no operating information near them on how to operate.

As for the jacuzzi bath tube in the cabin bathroom, it is a laughable option as the guest is restricted to off peak hot water supply only. Don't sell this as an upgrade. Ridiculous.

The entire retreat is tired, outdated and not worthy of the prices they charge for their cabins. What could be quite a charming set of accommodations is very sad, decrepit and just not good enough. No wonder it was the only place available last minute on Thursday the 17th of April for the 18th -21 Easter Weekend.

Its 9.2 rating is fanciful! Where's the evidence for that rating?

Might be time to sell off the property and let new blood update it to a place that reflects the beauty of the Blue Mtns

Staying at Madison’s Mountain Retreat was the perfect getaway and experience for my family. We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the grounds. Anne’s warm welcome and knowledge about the animals was excellent and we all enjoyed feeding the Alpacas, Llamas & Goats. The indoor pool was great for a quick swim & we felt nice and cosy in the rustic cabin accommodation
which had a lovely view of the alpacas and farm. We will definitely be back.

The property was a good place to stay in but the manager could have been more polite and courteous. The hot water ran out while we were filling up the spa for the 1st time and there was no hot water for our showers thereafter. Thankgod it was summers!

Large Roomy cabin clean inside. Grounds are in need a good clean up there is a lot junk laying about the grounds. Charged an extra $15 to stay on the grounds because we were 55 minutes early, told to either pay up or return later. Needs to improve her PR

Alpaca and goat feeding was a hit with the family. It was a good experience for my son to collect eggs for breakfast. Nice and quiet night. We didn't even notice the other families that were staying there.
Excellent experience and stay. My son is already asking for a return visit!

We stay during the Ester holiday, the room is not so clean, bathroom light is not working, and no tissue paper, the mop was broken.

I saw the converted train carriage online and thought my kids would love it being huge train fans. Our getaway did not disappoint. The kids loved the train and the animals, as well as the swimming pool. My husband and i loved the area and thought the train was great and very spacious. Staff were very hospitable. We would definately visit again :)

Great accommodation experience!

The refurbished train carriage accommodation was a unique accommodation experience. Kids loved the London bus bunk bed. They also had a whale of a time feeding the alpacas and the goats. Great outdoor time and accommodation experience for city dwellers.

Wonderful weekend getaway.

We love the peacefulness of this retreat. The verandah views are pretty and the cabins are well fitted out with comfy couches and wood fired burners. The brekky basket is generous too. All up this is a wonderful weekender which we will surely return to.

Great place for a family weekend

We had stayed here a few years ago in one of the spa cabins, and vowed to come back at some point. This time around, our family was bigger and so we stayed in one of the refurbished train carriages. The novelty factor for our kids was definitely the highlight, besides sleeping in a double decker bus bed!
The room was clean and comfortable and well-equiped.

The animal feeding hour at 3pm is also a highlight and the staff were all fantastic in accommodating us and hosting us around the farm. The full breakfast hamper provided doesn't disappoint either, and feeds a crowd!

If I were to be picky, the only faults I could find is that the shower was very leaky and flooded the bathroom floor, and a lack of curtains for the kitchen/kids play part of the carriage left us feeling a bit like people were watching us at nighttime. Other than that, we loved it and are hoping to return again at some point!

Cozy cabin in the woods

Madison's was in a beautiful remote location and provided plenty of free activities to keep both adults and children busy all day. We stayed the night in a spa cabin which was spacious and spotless upon arrival and the included breakfast hamper was delicious.
The only negative was the early checkout time of 10.30am. Not being early risers it felt a bit rushed in the morning which was a shame as it would have been nice to relax and enjoy the scenery a bit more before we left.

We were greeted with a big smile and a warm welcome, which set the tone for our entire stay here. Alpaca feeding time is a must-do. Cabin was nice and comfy. The main pool, while heated was still a little cold for our taste in winter, but the large spa was nice and warm.
Good place to stay with kids.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. A lovely warm greeting from the grounds-lady. Waking up to feed and pat the alpacas was really great. Didn't get pushed out the door right on check out time. Totally enjoyable experience. Couldn't recommend it more.

Peace and serenity in a handy location.

This was a family getaway to celebrate a special birthday. We had 5 cottages/train carriages so we had space, comfort and scenic views. There's a large games room with tv, DVDs, fireplace, large table, kitchen etc. coupled with the peaceful surroundings and alpaca feeding, it was a memorable weekend.

Friendly staff, great for family travel.

Fiona greeted us enthusiastically with our breakfast basket filled with goodies. She has also left us some delicious freshly baked cupcakes. Farm animals, quiet location, heated pool helped us to relax. The cabin was clean, spacious, and supplied with all we need for cooking a good meal & a good night's rest. The only thing was the insect net seals on the windows had gaps, so at night time all sorts of insects made their way in while we were cooking. But otherwise an excellent stay. Recommend for everyone.
