This is a basic hotel, which is good value for money. However, the bathroom is rundown and needs renovation .
The room itself was clean in general, but the teacup provided had a horrible dirty ring around it, which is not ideal.
Some of the accessories such as the remote control for the very good AC needed an urgent clean.
The other issue is staff members smoking just outside the entrance. Admittedly passive smoking is prevalent in North Macedonia.
Overall, not a bad experience at the price.

Great location as within a two minute walk of the Old Bazaar and less than 10 minutes walk to Macedonia Square, which did mean it can be a bit noisy at night as the rooms weren't very sound proof and you could hear everything going on outside and in the corridor.
The facilities were basic and the rooms could do with an upgrade, but it is a great location, good value for money and friendly staff, if you're looking for a good value, central location to stay in.

Not worth the money.

It is a dated property with most horrendous breakfast possible. It does not worth the money they charge. Room was dated and heater did not heat the room properly. Front desk lady was helpful but hotel needs a lot of work. Parking was one of the selling point since it is impossible to find proper parking in the center city Skopje. I must add that hotel is super convenient if you are looking for a place close to the old bazaar.

The bed was really comfy, with a good duvet. I slept so well. The women were cleaning the stairs and moping the floors constantly. But my room had issues. The bedroom door handle was practically falling off. The safe door fell off when I open it. I reported it, as I didn't want to get billed for breaking it. I reported it, but the maintenance guy never turned up in the 3 days I was there. And there was mold in the bathroom on the blinds. You could smell it when you entered the bathroom. I had seen other reports about mold. The hotel must read these reviews and I don't understand why they don't do anything about it. Its a shame. I enjoyed my stay there and would stay again. But they need to address the mold issues. The cleaners must smell it too.

The Photos of the Room on Hotels.com are nothing like in actual real life - the rooms are AWFUL, the breakfast area is really low, low, low level, almost like a shed for workers working at a construction site. It is simply misleading when booking. The staff were great but the condition of the hotel is simply unacceptable

Staff was friendly and it was very close to the old bazaar, but that’s the only good things. Their pictures definitely don’t tell the whole story. Yes, our room had a big tub but you couldn’t stay long due to the overpowering smell of mold. The toilet seat was broken and we noticed the next morning that there were globs of someone else’s hair in the bed. Breakfast would keep you from starving to death but nothing more. It seemed that the milk in the coffee machine soured

This is what I’d call a “wow” hotel. The staff was phenomenal from check in to check out. They even prepared a nice breakfast bag to go as I left at 1 am for the airport. The room was very nice with excellent WiFi. Next door to the hotel was the Old Bazaar for many shopping and dining opportunities. I met the son of the owner who was equally as impressive as he shared the long term vision for the hotel. They are growing and exceeding because of the exceptional staff at all levels of the organization. Congrats! Highly recommended without an exception

Basic, get what you pay for no luxury.

Decor a bit tatty, small duvet in a double bed that was quite hard & with lumpy pillows. Floor was laminate which was chipped. Safe in room was not secured to the wall & unusable. But there was a kettle & coffee sachets. WiFi worked fine, it was clean. No toiletries except soap in a dispenser. Breakfast had a good selection of average quality.

Nice hotel, but NOT sound proof

The actual hotel itself was fine, clean and nice. The front desk staff was nice and very helpful.
But we booked a sound proof room... and the room was NOT sound proof. You could hear someone sneeze in the rooms down the hall.

There was also a club was right near us, and the music was extremely loud most nights. To the point where we could not sleep.
The parking lot was very questionable, and the attendants were somewhat rude and not helpful. They would demand us to park closer to the hotel (to be double parked) however the whole parking lot had open spaces, and was meant for the hotel.
Note also the tub, we didnt have enough hot water, and it was luke warm. And the jets smelled like sulfur.
Overall the hotel itself is fine and nice.

Honestly, I was expecting more from this hotel based on the reviews. However, when I arrived to my floor/room, the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. The breakfast was really lacking and I am not even sure it can be called breakfast. The staff did not wear masks and neither did most guests, despite the increase in covid in the region. The location is great, the price was reasonable, but I think it is worth spending a bit more for one of the other hotels in the area.

Great location. The room was a bit small but fine just for 1 person. Good price for what it is offered. Breakfast was fine. Cheese, boiled eggs, breads, juice, tea, coffee, the basics. When I closed the door the handle came off and was left in my hand but they quickly sent someone to fix it.

Very nice hotel with a spa bath. Clean. Nice people. Allowed me to check in early. I had a free parking but it was a very busy parking lot because the hotel is right at the popular grand Bazaar. Very clean room. The only thing I would recommend is they provide shampoo and conditioner.

This is a lovely and smart hotel for a great price. The hotel is right next to the Old Bazaar and the fortress so perfect for sightseeing and exploring Skopje.

Solid 3-Star Accommodation in Skopje

Hotel De KOKA proved to be a solid 3-star accommodation at a very reasonable price. The hotel is well located in Skopje, adjacent to the Old Bazaar and 5 minutes by foot from Macedonia Square. Our room was small, but it was clean and comfortable enough. The price included a decent buffet breakfast. The staff was excellent (informative, good English, printed boarding passes), and wifi worked well.

Loved the location ! Just steps from the Old Bazaar . Which means lots of fun, food , and shopping . Also very short walk over pedestrian bridge for more great fun, food and shopping. Room was spacious, clean and lots of storage for your belongings . Bathroom was large and my room had views of the Castle and Cross. Breakfast was great as well . All the staff were friendly and helpful. They also helped set up a great private tour to Kosovo for me . Love and recommend this wonderful hotel .

Very good location - you can walk to all the main city centre sights. The bus station is about 15 minutes walking or 2 minutes in a taxi.

I had a windowless room. This was fine for a couple of days, but I would not want to spend a week in the room.

Breakfast was fairly basic, but adequate.

if the overall impression is good, I have a reservation about the minibar in the room. Few months ago, I checked into the same hotel and in the check out, after I said I did not consume anything, a phone call was placed to the mini bar watch on te floor to check whether I lied or not
Someone must have complained =it was not me- and this time, I was not asked the fatal question but instead asked to wait. the same phone call and the negative, then I was handed my bill as a teacher to a good pupil

Superb location !!!

Hotel De Koka has perfect location to both old and new Skopje ,I just loved being able to walk anywhere .It is also not far from a bus station . Nice and clean hotel with lovely stuff starting from the receptionist and lovely girl at breakfast .Breakfast was really really good with plenty of choices . I think this hotel is really good value for money . I stayed in a single room ,the only thing is it was very small but adequate.

My stay didn't start well as when I arrived at 22:00 the hotel didn't have my booking on their system and had no rooms available! That said the lady on reception was extremely apologetic and efficiently set about finding me a room at an alternative hotel, at their cost. When I had come back from parking my car however, she had found a room for the two nights and I was all checked in. Mistakes happen but I was very pleased by the way it was handled, the service was excellent. The hotel itself was very nice, clean comfortable and well equipped and superbly located to explore the city, right at the south end of the Old Bazaar and just north of Mother Theresa square and the river. The parking is a bit tight, a small area outside the hotel with numerous cars packed in but it worked fine for me. The breakfast was basic but decent enough though the coffee was pretty terrible!

Excellent location. In the old bazaar area of Skopje but only 5 minutes from modern centre accross on of the bridges accross the river. Friendly staff - reception and cleaning lady. Room smallish but perfectly adequate. Our room had a small balcony attached. Excellent value for money. Wifi good, plenty of mainly news channels in English. Kettle and some coffee provided.

The location of this hotel is great! The rooms are good. It would be great if we had room service and at least breakfast in bed option. I stayed in 2 different rooms during my stay. The second one was good, but the first one was disappointing. What I really didn’t like are the bathrooms, there is no privacy at all, there isn’t even a bathroom lock and all the privacy is a pretty much see through shade. Also the bathrooms smell almost all the time, even though it says “disinfected”, and without using the toilet at all. However, the location is perfect, everything walking distance, and the front desk girl was really nice and very helpful! I’m only giving 3 stars because of her!

Very loud and couldn’t sleep during the night as other guests were partying in the common areas and nothing was done about it for 2 nights in a row. Very disappointed and don’t think we will stay there again. I did mention it to reception but was told thay were a large group.

Decent place in central location

very professional, extremely friendly and helpful staff (front desk, breakfast buffet). Free breakfast is a nice feature, food choices are basic. Please note that food and transportation (taxi) in general is inexpensive in Skopje (compared to US $ prices). Room was clean, bed comfortable. Rooms are towards the main street, 1 level above street level (ground floor are shops and other businesses). The building has been repurposed from a former department store or alike, so exterior walls are all glass with thick draping/curtains from the inside to keep the light out. This naturally gives limited insulation against temperatures and sound. The location is good (central, walking distance to all interesting locations), the area looks rough but this is true for most places in Skopje.

When I booked this hotel it had a rating >4. After my visit I would not rate it so highly. There were many positives about the hotel, however also some negatives, on balance I would not stay here again. Although perhaps this is because my friend and I had booked two single room and they were very small singles - I have stayed in rooms of similar small size though, the facilities were very limited.

OK Hotel for a Short Stay

Nice hotel, the outside building and facade look a little dated and old. The hotel is in some strip mall that looks really dirty but actually its nice inside. It's located very close to the bazaar, and just a walk to the city center. I didn't mind it's location but maybe others would. I'd recommend other hotels over this one in SKopje that are also cheap but a little better like Hotel Bushi.

But I would still stay here again if I had to because the service is great, and the rooms inside the hotel are in terrific condition.

The hotel seems to be a repurposed shopping mall. It has nice big rooms and bathroom. very close to the old city and the new buildings in the city center.
no real hotel services and the breakfast was very basic but the bazar is right out the door so plenty of places to eat.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.When I arrived the light in my room wasn't working and I was given another one straight away without any fuss.The bed was extremely comfortable,the shower was powerful and the Wi-Fi very good. Breakfast is your traditional Eastern European fayre,a selection of meats,cheeses & yogurts etc.The staff also advised me on places to visit and provided directions,maps and bus timetables.The highlight of my tour was when the hotel got me a ticket for VARDAR'S CL QUALIFIER.I will definitely stay there again.

Great stay staff was super friendly in a great location room was cheap however super clean bathroom was super clean which is really important for my stay highly recommend and would definitely stay again

They charged me extra $55 cuz I did not list my wife in booking. Live music all night and couldn't sleep, no refrigerator....

Good location for the price

Good location, near the city center. No complaints. Free WiFi but quite slow. Had a quick overnight stay and left early so did not get to try the free breakfast
