We are definitely coming back to stay again! We loved how warm and cozy our deluxe room was. The heated floor, the hot water kettle, and refrigerator were so convenient. The location of the room was perfect as well. We were able to see the northern lights from our room. The food and staff at the restaurant was exquisite. Sasha, in particular, was very kind. He opened up the restaurant for us since we got to the hotel early before check-in time, and we were able to have a delicious lunch (the cod sandwich with chips and salmon salad), and enjoy the quiet dining hall to ourselves while taking in the beautiful views of Husafell. We are very grateful for the excursion opportunities that were offered (into the glacier, lava cave, snowmobiling on top of Langjoküll, Barnafoss, etc). The staff there were amazing. Lastly, the geothermal baths right outside our hotel was lovely to have. We went twice and it was never crowded. Very relaxing, rejuvenating, and refreshing. Thank you for our stay. We'll see you again soon.

The staff were incredible! The amenities are great. My only issues it the Canyon Baths. It was made to seem as if entry was included in the hotel stay (they use photos on the hotel website) but it is not! You have to take a tour and it often fills up. We were unable to visit the baths because we did not know this until it was too late and the tours were full during our stay

The hotel restaurant is fantastic! Food is fresh, locally sourced and delicious. The hotel has an understated luxurious feel with warm comforts and great service. The onsite thermal pools were wonderful after a long day on the glaciers or caving; traveled with a 9yr old and he was more than welcome in the pools and had a great time. Also, a great location as it is a 1 min walk from Into the Glacier tours (highly recommend)

Hotel Husafell is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the idyllic Iceland countryside. Lovely paths to walk on, gorgeous views, thermal heated pools, and an awesome happy hour and restaurant. The food was outstanding. The staff at the Husafell Hotel were also most helpful and kind. Maybe on my next visit there, I will be able to see the northern lights!

Misleading pictures as they show a spa that is not the hotel spa but rather a very costly spa nearly. They do have a steam room and hot pools and a cold plunge pool but it looks nothing like the natural springs on the Expedia profile.

The property is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. And, i have to say that Clara at the front desk was the absolute best in terms of trying to help us with anything we needed from hiking recommendations to restaurants to anything else we needed.
There are fabulous hikes right from the property and easy access to the nearby glacier and other adventures.
Lastly, the food was really good! And, the chef was willing to be flexible with the menu items to meet our dietary requirements. Great job! Oh, and don't miss the deserts!! they were really, really great!

Finally stayed here during winter when I saw room rates were a little lower after wanting to check it out for a long time and must sadly conclude it is overpriced. I know, it is Iceland, but even so. Husafell is lovely and great to visit. The local art/artist is so unique and it is nearby to the history at the Snorri center. But the hotel is not worth it. For what you pay, the beds don't even have a headboard. The hotel maintains exclusive access to its nearby Canyon Baths/hot springs but I was disappointed to learn there is an additional charge to visit them - even for hotel guests. $70 more seems excessive. The breakfast was lovely (no buffet in the winter) and the staff were kind to let us know via a wake up call when there were northern lights outside. (Less welcome was the smoke alarm due to staff smoking in the kitchen!) Recommend the area for a hike or a day trip.

We had a wonderful two night stay here and managed to see the northern lights outside the hotel after dinner! The food is delicious and the rooms are clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed using the thermal baths outside after a full day out. Lots to do in the local area including lava cave tour, glacier cave. Canyon baths and waterfalls! I’d really recommend this hotel. The staff were fantastic and very helpful.

What a wonderful experience my 3 day stay was. All staff were friendly and welcoming and my room was beautiful. Every comfort had been provided for. It's spotlessly clean throughout and warm. The restaurant had an evening menu which was outstanding. The chefs cooked wonderful food that was brautifully presented brought to the table by friendly waitresses/waiters who knew what the ingredients were. There are some walks nearby too. You won't be disappointed.

This chef was outstanding. I’ve not had a bad meal in Iceland yet but the meals I’ve had at Husafell far exceeded everywhere else. He would hold his own in NYC.
As for the hotel it also was exactly what we hoped for. Húsafell is remote, and we arrived when it was snowing. It was NOT an easy drive. Still I would highly recommend it. The pools were warm, very clean and perfect for relaxing in. They were only open 15:00-20:00 though. Sign up for the hot spring. Great in winter!! Also be sure to visit nearby waterfalls.

The pool/hot tub offering is an additional cost, unlike other properties near by. This was not explicit in the info on hotels.com and was frustrating to learn when checking in.
It offers a wake up call service for northern lights, so be sure to listen out for two rings of a room phone!
The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast offerings were good with nice variety.
It was more expensive than other hotels we stayed in on our trip, but I cannot tell you why!

Went for the Northern Lights, as it supposedly is one of the best hotels for them.
Unfortunately, even with the phone alert service they provide overnight, if it rains or it snows, you won’t be able to see Northern Lights…😩

Beautiful region of Iceland. Amazing waterfalls nearby. Husafell Canyon Baths were incredible to visit. Volcano heated pools that we visited were so nice. Great tour with a friendly guide. Only as many as 16 people go at a time. So fun. The hotel staff were friendly and helped us find lots to do in the area. There is hiking near here, a golf course if your so inclined as well. The restaurant in the hotel had amazing food. It was a high end dining experience. Can’t say enough about this hotel. 10/10 for sure.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Hussafel and particularly enjoyed their fabulous world-class restaurant. The staff was fabulous and very helpful when it came to making decisions about our plans. They directed us to a great exhibit at the Settlement Museum on a day when it was a bit too cold to go horse back riding and also helped us book a helicopter tour. Overall the property was nice, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. However our door had a problem that if you didn't pull very hard an alarm would go off which was embarrassing as other patrons would stare as if your breaking into the room. The resturant atmosphere was very nice and we felt a bit underdressed as it seems to be for fine dining only. However the food was.... questionable. Maybe I'm not used to fine dining but our dinner involved several courses one of which was an \"earthen\" baked potato. Thinking well maybe it will taste fine and be some new experience. However it tasted like a boiled potato that was dropped in mud. You could taste the dirt and I'll be honest the lamb filet was no better than anywhere else in Iceland. The breakfast was nice even though we got up late and hand the place to ourselves essentially. So if your going to stay for the room and views, you will be quite happy. If your going for the restaurant. I would spend your money elsewhere unfortunately. Maybe it was an off night or a the chef was trying a new menu item, or its my foreign taste buds not accustomed to their style of cooking but you might be best to get dinner elsewhere or temper your expectations of quality even though the cost of food was some of the highest we paid our trip.

Was i the highlight of our trip? No. Was it a decent place to stay in the area with a restaurant that has pretty good food? Yes. It has Glacier tours that leave from there, so it you enjoy some waterfalls ( not the largest in Iceland, but pretty) and want to have the convenience to the Glacier tour, it is a great stop. It just depends on what you want to do with your time.

#1 out of 6 We Stayed At On Our Trip

OMG I wished I booked at least another day or two (instead of just an overnight), beautiful modern hotel, small, intimate, great food great service and there are a ton of nature related things to do in the area, mostly hiking. Spent 6 nights in 6 different hotels, and this was the prettiest, quietest. Oh! before I forget, they have a service that will wake you if northern lights are visible. We didn't have them (cloudy) but a nice touch since this place is out there and it is very dark. Next time we are in Iceland, this hotel will get a repeat visit from us.

Nice property, but I wouldn’t consider it \"luxury\". Their pool & hot tub have apparently been closed for renovations all year, but it wasn't noted on the booking site, confirmation or even mentioned when we arrived. That was one of the main reasons wed booked this hotel. No gym or spa. Just the main lobby bar & restaurant which look nice, but food & drinks were limited & overpriced. I asked about room service & they said to go to the restaurant & ask them, and we were then told to find a seat & given a very limited menu with expensive options & the food was mediocre. The rooms are comparable to college dorms, and the TV had ONE English channel (CNN). So we ended up canceling our 2nd night (forfeiting the whole payment as they require a minimum of 48hrs notice of cancelation to be eligible for a refund) & went to Borgarnes - a super cute little town about 40 miles southwest of Husafell, and stayed at B59 Hotel (which I would absolutely consider LUXURY with plentiful amenities & food options at the same price or less than Hotel Husafell.

This is a beautiful hotel tucked away in the environment around Husafell, and is clean, modern and sleek but very comfortable. The on-site dining room is incredible and features delicious local meat and fish meals. The area around the hotel has amazing hiking trails, waterfalls, a golfcourse and the Krauma Hot Baths within a 30 minute drive. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely layout of hotel and restaurant was enchanting with fabulous views on three sides. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The property is beautiful, staff were very friendly, and location was quite and stunning view of mountain.

The room was very clean, minimal but tasteful Scandinavian decor, and bed was very comfortable. And smelled nice!

The dinner restaurant was very tasty. And the breakfast was awesome too.

I would love to come back again!

The hotel website does not tell you that the Cafe and store are not open during the winter months. We also wanted to stay there for their thermal baths on property and those were closed as well due to snow because the do not shovel steps. The views from the property are nice.
