This was a peaceful hotel in a beautiful location. I had very little contact with any staff which seemed different from other reviews but the two gentlemen serving breakfast were friendly and kind. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bed was super comfy, the rooms clean and the view was beautiful but the room lacked a few basics like glasses for water/wine. Paper cups provided seemed a bit basic to me. I think this hotel could be excellent with a few tweaks.
I would definitely return.

Property was very good! Very nice dinner options everywhere. The size of Loutro is small so if you and your family/friends like to play games or consider yourselves “night owls” this might not be the place for you. Otherwise, very lovely stay and the breakfast was delicious!

Fantastic stay and lovely property, positioned around a lovely bay. Great views across the bay and coastline.

Great Relaxing Beach Vacation

The hotel was a few steps from the ferry in Loutro and our room was ready when we arrived, even though it was a couple hours before check-in. They provided beach towels for us to use. There was a small balcony overlooking the harbor which was nice. The air conditioning unit was great which was really important as it was over 100 degrees each day. There was a beach about 30 yards away with chairs to rent but I just walked down with my towel to jump in. One day we walked over to Sweetwater Beach which I recommend. The walk is beautiful and we took the water taxi back. The breakfast had a nice variety of options. Overall this was a really great hotel and I hope to be able to return soon!

Stay here to meet Coco the Parrot

The hotel has a friendly Parrot called Coco that sings and talks to customers as they pass by the hotel .
The hotel was clean & the staff friendly
The bathroom was tiny compared to the long room .
The hotel let us check out late as the boat did not leave until 13.20 which was great as it meant we could swim & have a shower before we left so we did not waste the morning .

The hotel has the most fantastic location over Loutro bay. Waiter service at breakfast with excellent choice of local specialties. A very romantic setting.
Hotel staff couldn’t be more helpful helping me track down a much loved hat I left on the bus!

Lots of noise coming from people yelling in hallway and slamming their doors, could use a little soundproofing. Wait staff serving morning breakfast could smile a little more; perhaps it was a long summer for them but they definitely always looked tired.

Loved this hotel. Very typically furnished in a basic but comfortable style in a wonderful location. Great view from the balcony and bar area. Good choice of breakfast and all the staff were professional and friendly. For me there was only one thing that let it down and that was the standard of the cleaning. I stayed for 2 weeks and during that time the sink, taps and shower were not cleaned once. There was no dusting of the bedroom or cleaning of the balcony furnature. A clump of dust/ dirt/hair behind the bathroom door got bigger and the toilet was not cleaned everyday. Although there was a fridge and glasses for cold drinks supplied, at no time did the cleaner replace these with fresh ones. Such a shame as otherwise it was perfect.

Booking a hotel in Loutro is not always easy. Many places simply don't respond to inquiries.

Communication with this hotel was quick and pleasant. They were very helpful in giving us advice for arrival/departure from Loutro, and advice for activities during the trip. The staff was friendly and hospitable - the manager Emily treated us as valued guests throughout our stay.

The rooms are large, comfortable, and all have a beautiful ocean and mountain view. There is a fridge in the room and the place was sparkling clean. It is an easy 30 second walk to the ferry so carrying baggage is no problem.

We hope to return again! Visit Loutro, and stay at this hotel!

Room was very clean. Hotel is right on the harbor and close to the ferry dock. Spectacular views. Service was outstanding and most friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Coco, the African grey parrot, “guarded the lobby” and entertained everyone including passers-by. No formal restaurant but many very close by.

Perfect location with a lovely view of Loutro.

Hotel is within a couple minutes by foot from the ferry landing. Check in was easy, the people there were fantastic and I room had everything we needed. The view across Loutro's harbour was like a dream, so beautiful. Excellent breakfast each morning and a few minute walk to both beaches. We had a great stay and would stay here again!

Lovely hotel right by the sea

We recently stayed at this hotel and can unreservedly recommend it. The staff are extremely helpful and most speak excellent English. The room was very clean and the linen was changed often. There was a lovely balcony that was sunny and overlooked the bay. A lovely stay.

Idyllic Loutro

Loutro is a very special place and to be able to relax here a while the hoards from Samaria gorge sailed on was pure bliss. The owner and his family were brilliant hosts and the view from our balcony across the bay just sublime. Keep an eye out for Coco - star of Loutro and resident at Daskalogiannis. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit!

wonderful location.

Smallish room with lovely balcony overlooking the waterfront. Wifi in reception. Toast and coffee provided for breakfast with orange juice. Hotels in Loutro come at a premium price because of its beautiful location.Breakfast served on the harbour front as are any meals purchased here or at other establishments. Ferry several times daily to and from Loutro. Stayed 3 nights. Have been 3-4 times previously. One of the best places in Crete.

Charming hotel by the ocean

A simple but charming hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. When i checked out, the owner was warm and shook my hand, then ran and grabbed a small bottle of ouzo to give me as a gift. I appreciated this gesture so much, really made my stay end on a great feeling.

Bonne option a Loutro!

Bonne option pour Loutro. Hotel de style plus ancien, mais propre. Bonne pression d’eau, mais temperature de l’eau parfois changeante subitement. Air climatisé fonctionnel pour la nuit. Lits corrects, mais pourraient être plus confortables.
Parfois quelques odeurs plus désagréables, mais ce semble être le cas partout à Loutro?

Vaut la peine de coucher a Loutro pour y etre le matin et le soir, dans le calme, sans les hordes de touristes, la baignade y est magique!

Tres agreable balcon avec vue sur le village et l’eau. Petit dejeuner substantiel avec plusieurs choix dont la sfakiani pie!
