Everything about staying here was fantastic. We walked into a beautiful apartment with the aroma of freshly baked bread in the air. The jam provided was delicious too.
It is such a well appointed and beautiful space with a view that matches the beauty of the apartment.
We had chooks come right up to us - they were so friendly. We had everything we needed and more and staying here is an absolute must when visiting Tasmania.

Nice roomy cabin. Good fire was going prior to arrival as its a huge space to heat. Comfortable lounge and bedding.
Heater in the bathroom was appreciated. Homemade bread and breakfast provisions was good. In better weather the view would be amazing.

Great location both for views and tripping about the area. We used it for a base to enjoy Bruny Island and the Channel area.

Views are to die for including waking up to a full view of across the island. Pillows and beds are very comfortable.

Kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. Spacious accommodation.

Peppermint Bay restaurant (on main road near water) is well worth a visit but only open Thursday to Sunday nights. Need to book at popular with locals. Classy food and great service.

Hosts are great, very accommodating and easy to deal with.

Will be back. Suggest at least 3 nights.

We enjoyed our stay in the Berry Patch unit. The views of Bruny Island were amazing, great communication from our hosts, and lots of little touches (bread cooking when we arrived) made it a welcoming base to explore this part of Tassie.

Everything was outstanding. Just took a while to get used to the Eco toilet but once we did it really made us feel like we are helping the environment. Staying at this property made us feel like we really need to do more for the environment in every way we live.

We really enjoyed our stay at peppermint ridge retreat. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We were a couple and our friend and we had plenty of room. The fire had been prepared and all we had to do was light it. A hearty breakfast hamper is provided and you have all the cooking facilities and condiments you need. The views are stunning and it was wonderful to sit on the deck and enjoy the view from outside. I appreciated that Ben and Michaela cared about providing us with all the correct ways to recycle our rubbish with proper recycling and vegies scraps going to the chickens. Also the extensive mini bar was thoughtful for guests arriving unprepared. I would highly recommend staying here!! Thanks again.

A perfect location with outstanding accommodation.

The personal touches to Peppermint Ridge Retreat were outstanding. From the home made bread ready for breakfast, spa and the fire ready to light when we arrived. The hosts had all of the little touches perfect and it was a welcome we didn't expect. I would highly recommend Peppermint Ridge Retreat to anyone travelling in the area :)

Had a great weekend at Peppermint Ridge - great views of Bruny Island over the water through 6 metre high windows... watched sunrise from our bedon the mezzanine level. Comfortable and welcoming with a lovely ambiance. Great breakfast supplied and wine and Tim tams. Close to Hobart but feels like your in the middle of the bush.

We didn't want to leave!! Between the spacious apartment, outstanding views from every point in the home, to the freshly baked bread upon our arrival- this home has everything you could need from a trip of one night to 30+. We wish we had booked out more nights, but will definitely be coming back! Beautiful home and location. Is worth the visit.

The moment we arrived we wished we'd booked to stay longer. Beautifully and uniquely (hay bails!) created - you feel welcomed the moment you arrive. The small personal touches make you feel at home - breakfast supplies sourced from locals including freshly baked bread and the small array of goods to purchase if you don't want to leave to get supplies yourself.
The view from the loft bedroom amazing - we woke up just to watch the sunrise.

A lovely place to stay

Thanks for a delightful stay at Peppermint Ridge Retreat. We loved the character of the accomodation and the kids were impressed with the mezzanine bedroom. Unfortunately this meant we ended up down stairs in the second bedroom. Tassie put on awesome weather and we had a really relaxing and enjoyable time exploring the region. The views of the Channel and Bruny Island are truely awesome. We loved indulging in local food and wine/beers/ciders. We will visit again very soon ;)

Three Big Nos You Should Know

Three things that you should know before you stay here - there is No Oven, No Central Heater and No Flushing Toilet! Beautiful views and attentive staff, but they really should tell you about these things before charging people over $200 per night.

I checked out thismorning and already want to go back! Was only booked in for one night but as soon as I arrived I extended my stay. Stunning lodge, everything is thoughtfully prepared for you, even the fire is lit and ready to go! I desperately needed a break from
Sydney and this was just perfect! I couldn't be happier! If you are like me and search through a million places beforehand you book, stop now and book this place you won't regret it.

Views from deck, kitchen/living and even main bedroom. Good wood fire, bread maker, hot shower, well equipped apartment with laundry. Compost toilet (not so sure about this -2 nights was enough) but loved the views (could do days of this) so out weighed the toilet, I guess. Very helpful & friendly Melissa. Night wallaby was friendly. Small drive from hill to good food at cove inn.

The place is huge, perfect for friends and family.
The host prepared quite a lot complementary food for breakfast, we cooked and had the most relaxed breakfast of our trip, since the check out time is a bit later than other places we've stayed as well.
The place has the most spectacular view, we woke up early for the sunrise the next day, totally worth it.

I booked this for my 30th birthday to have a little getaway with my closest friends and the beautiful lodge did not disappoint. So beautiful, clean and welcoming and that view of the bay is breath taking. I would and will stay here again. No complaints from me.

From the moment we pulled into the driveway this place was a delight. The location provides breathtaking views across to Bruny Island and beyond. It us conveniently located for drives to Kettering, Cygnet and further south. The chalet is beautifully appointment and all guests needs are thoughtfully catered for from fresh homemade bread to large bottles of good quality shampoo & conditioner. All in all a wonderful experience.

Nice Self Contained Rooms close to the beach

This place has been the best place I've stayed at in my life. A platter of bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and eggs on arrival as well as freshly cooked bread. The view was absolutely terrific. The toilet was like no other. It was a long drop toilet, how great's that. The chicken's are very friendly they tried to come in side/

Beautiful place to stay at sleepy town of Woodbridge. 40mins south of Hobart and convenient place from which to catch the ferry to Bruny Island. Amazing views of the island and bay from the lodge. Breakfast is provided for you to cook with fresh eggs bacon and bread. The lodge is a self build with an Eco toilet and a lovely fireplace. Our family loved the countryside homely feel and were very sad to say goodbye.

It near Kettering ferry, and great place to relax and see the stars at night, many cute animals will come to visit you while you stay, the owner offer a lot of Apples and oranges, ham and eggs for breakfast which is so convenient!also the soft drinks are cheap you can buy it if you want.

Great stay at Peppermint Ridge Retreat's Berry Patch. Unit is a two storey and is spacious enough for a family of five. Imagine it to be a great venue for Christmas party with a few good friends.

Owner was friendly and accommodated for our late check-in. We were welcomed by freshly baked bread and like the ingredients she has prepared for our next morning's breakfast.

Surroundings are serene with interesting places to visit. We even saw a wallaby and was visited by a large black quoll.

As a couple, this was a very enjoyable experience. It was easy to find, yet in quite a quiet spot. All communication with regard to check-in was done via SMS, which was fine. We received a yummy breakfast on the first day, but confusingly, not on the second day. Not sure whether this means it was not included in the price, but was a complementary service on the first night only? In any case, it was yummy - local bacon, fresh bread cooking on our arrival, and many other lovely touches. Beautiful interior and exterior in exquisite setting near Peppermint Bay, and Bruny Island. Very easy to take a day trip to Bruny Island and around the island for a day, before coming back for a restful night's sleep. Great fire, which our hosts kept stoked all day - they even brought in more wood for us to burn throughout the night.

Stayed for a 2 night local getaway. We had one full day there to relax and spa, and we didn't even turn on the television. The double-story front windows highlighted the spectacular views accross the channel to Bruny Island and beyond, as well as the surrounding country side and forest. The stone 2-storey chimney and all the natural wood fit out, along with the sustainably built theme made it a delightful stay. Plus there was a loaf of bread finishing in the bread maker which smelled amazing, a breakfast platter which included eggs from their chickens, and the wood fire was already burning. Service was top notch.

Very friendly management, well equipped kitchen and BBQ gas stove provided at balcony. The setting and warmth made us feel like home as we arrived in a cold showering winter night. Breakfast of bacon, egg and mushroom was also a surprise.
