The beds were awful, like blow up beds on a frame. The bathroom was so patched together, poorly I might add, there was an active leak from the room above us and the toilet was hard pressed to flush. While maintenance was very attentive the room should have been marked out of order.

Check in staff not very hospitable. Checked in at 7:30pm. Hotel Needs some serious updating. Hotel is very old. Rooms are musty and not aesthetically pleasing. Still using shower curtains that don’t work and spills water all over floor. Phone didn’t work in room. When maintenance came by I was ready to hop in shower and ask them to come back in 10min to fix phone but they never returned. Had to go down to restaurant to order room service since phone wasn’t working. Room service was in a paper bag and to go boxes, no plate or table was it served in. Restaurant/room service closed at 9 pm. Next morning housekeeping knocking at door around 10:00’to let us know check out is at 11:00. Did not feel welcomed at the hotel. Only positive is it’s a good location if you’re planning to go to the BNP tennis tournament. Close by. Complimentary shuttle would be nice. Won’t stay there again.

Very dated, in-room amenities are lacking (the shampoo/ conditioner in the shower is basically hand soap), lots of hall noise and noise from other rooms. The complimentary coffee was always nearly empty in the morning, same with the water dispenser. The little things like that were lacking. The pool area is fine- it was deserted when we were there. The are many new, comfortable loungers. If you must stay here, ask for a room facing the pool or else you will be facing the main road, the garbage or a parking lot. The in room safe did not work, nor did the exterior door from the hallway to the parking lot close properly and it was always open without a key or any security. They are updating the mattresses.

The hotel was going through some upgrades so all the Lucy and Desi pictures were not displayed… which made me a little sad because that’s one of the main reasons I wanted to stay there. They were also replacing all mattresses and were unfortunately not the ones that got a new mattress so our sleep wasn’t the best.

I have stayed at this resort many times and prefer it due to the location to the tennis gardens. However, I am noticing that some of the rooms are not as nice and in need of upgrading. This year I stayed in room #244, shutters are in need of repair, could use some updating. Later, I stayed with a friend in #247 and again, the shutters are in need of repair. This had some upgrade with crown molding. The toilet did not flush well, had to hold the handle down for a complete flush. Was not impressed with the bathroom toiletries. Worn out tissue in a small basket to hold a small soap and lotion. Get rid of that! Shampoo and conditioner all in one dispenser. I expect this in a motel but not a nice hotel such as Indian Wells. Security locks on your side doors from the parking area does not work. I'm sure they did at one point. This is a safety issue ands should be addressed immediately! All side doors should be locked and a guest key card to allow access. Again, another thing that needs to be fixed. Also, on your website is says you have Tennis Courts. The courts are cracked and in horrible condition. Do not advertise the courts or allow guest to play on them if they are not in playable condition. That is an accident just waiting to happen. Other than that your staff is great, professional and polite.

The property is pretty outdated, it could use an upgrade. The amenities were ok, pool and fitness room were average. There was not a lot to offer. Only served breakfast and lunch.

Plus side: Location is great, the staff is wonderful. We felt very welcomed and valued. Even though our stay was at a very busy time of year, Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, we got a good rate compared to other hotels in the area.

We payed $650 a night to stay here for the tennis tournament. The hotel has a great location, very friendly staff, the air conditioning worked and the beds were comfortable, but it is at least 75 years old, poorly maintained, and feels it. Stained carpets, broken elevators, broken ice machines, and broken locks on outside doors. Our key door card reader was about to be replaced so it only worked half of the time. Our phone had no dial tone, one of the lamps was broken, carpets dirty, tiny bathroom with leaking faucet, janky shampoo with conditioner dispenser on the wall, sliver of soap, no room service menu, no room service.

This hotel has really gone downhill. The bathrooms had black mold, the lights in the room didn’t work, the electrical system is poor, the a/c is so noisy, they don’t have a breakfast buffet anymore and the service in the restaurant at breakfast was understaffed. We sat at our table for 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us!! They don’t have a shuttle service anymore which was so convenient when we were headed to the tennis garden, so we ended up walking over because of the terrible traffic during the BNP Paribas Tournament. The staff had no idea how to get the tennis tournament on the television in our room which was really annoying. We were told the hotel was under new ownership so hopefully they will rectify these issues because the room rate is not worth the cost to stay with these current conditions!!

The pool was fine although the water was cloudy and had a fair amount of debris. The room was clean when we got there. It was nothing special. Only 3 towels and slivers of packaged bar soap, no lotion. When I requested housekeeping they did not clean the mirror, gave us back the dirty glass I had left out for them to replace. They took the rubber no slip bath mat and it took a few days to get them to replace it. I had to go out and ask for coffee cups (paper) because they had not been replaced.
We went to dinner there one evening and there was only 1 staff person to run the bar, deliver room service and take care of the dining room.
We asked for a late check out, noon, but the keys quit working by 1130. The air conditioner was noisy. We would not stay there again.

This property is under new ownership and they are not upholding basic standards of safety for guests. The outer entrance doors were without locks for my entire stay meaning anyone from outside could access the building and many times throughout my stay, the outer doors were propped open, allowing the hallways to heat up and again…no security/safety standards. In addition, my room had signs of water damage and a musty/mold smell for my entire stay, the air unit could not keep up with the heat of the hallway because doors were left open, towels were unavailable for room and pool at various times, breakfast is no longer included as it was in years past, etc. I will never stay at this hotel again!

This was our 3rd or 4th year staying here for the tennis tournament. This year however was pretty different. In the past inwould give it a 5/5, easy. This year, they changed a few things. For one, there is no breakfast included anymore. They also now charge $25 per night. They also didnt have live music at all during the 4 nights we were there.
Little things, but they add up. We love this property, location, views, etc. But these little changes were a bummer.

The hotel was okay overall. The lobby looked fancy, and the live singer at the restaurant was a great touch that added to the old Hollywood feel. Unfortunately, my stay wasn’t the greatest.

My main issue was the airflow in our room. It felt stuffy when we checked in, so I turned on the AC wall unit, but it mostly just made noise and didn’t cool the room much. The ventilation in the bathroom was also poor. Steam from the shower would spread into the room and make everything feel muggy, which created the perfect environment for mosquitoes—we ended up getting bitten several times throughout our stay.

The pool also didn’t appear very clean. There were quite a few dead flies and mosquitoes floating on the surface, which made me wonder if the filters were working properly.

I really wanted to love this place, especially after learning that Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were among its founders. Unfortunately, the conditions in our room made the experience disappointing.

The employees were very helpful, welcoming and overall friendly.

Property is on average 3 stars. The hotel is under painting renovation when we were there which they removed all the decorations photo’s of Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz which was the main attraction and our reason of picking to stay on this hotel. The bed and pillow are NOT comfortable to sleep on. The bed gave me the back pain due to mattress is sagging when you lie down, and pillow is too soft which is insufficient support for my neck.

I prefer using stairs, but the for those who don’t, the elevator on the west end was out of service and should get fixed. I recently stayed at this property in the Palm Springs / Indian Wells area, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment from start to finish. For the price point and the location, I expected a level of quality and service that was completely absent.
The Issues:
Hygiene & Maintenance: Seeing cockroaches in the hallways was incredibly unsettling and spoke volumes about the lack of proper pest control and cleanliness at this resort.
Housekeeping: The service was awful. Requests were either ignored or handled with a lack of care that made the stay feel very unmanaged.
Noise Levels: The noise was horrific. Whether it was thin walls or poor management of common areas, there was no peace or quiet to be found during the entire stay.
The Pool: One of the main reasons to stay in the desert is the pool, but this one was hardly heated, making it unusable for anyone who isn't a fan of cold plunges.
Hidden Costs: To top it all off, the unnecessary parking fees felt like a blatant cash grab. Charging a premium for parking in an area with plenty of space is frustrating when the hotel itself isn't being maintained.
Final Verdict:
I would not recommend this hotel. Between the pests, the noise, and the lack of basic amenities like a heated pool, there are far better options in the Indian Wells area that actually value their guests. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

I reserved there because it looked like a fancier hotel and it was my girl friends birthday. We were moving from another hotel several miles away and had food that we wanted to reheat to eat later. I was surprised that they didn't have microwaves in the rooms or even any available for use to use. Even Motel 6 has microwaves. I should have asked before I booked but I made an assumption since it looked like a really nice place from the pcitures.
The woman at the front desk was very nice and felt bad that our food would be wasted.
The other thing we noticed was that the carpet in the room was very dirty as well as the one chair in the room. The arms of the chair were filthy dirty so we didn't want to sit in it.
The pool area was nice though.
I don't think we would stay there again for what we paid.

Also, had a negative experience with the lobby bartender. He told us that we (8 of us) couldn’t bring a drink from our room. We were going to spend the next three hours buying drinks. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over my long life and never had a staff member say that to us. He became belligerent when one of the guys questioned him.

It was a 1-star, but the price was decent and the staff was nice. The drawbacks:
- The place had a scent that was unpleasant at times, but was masked by some bleach and cleaning.
- You can connect to WiFi and go through their authorization but don't expect any website to load, it wasn't connected to the internet while we were there
- There is no coffee stand or section in the hotel and the closest coffee shop was 1.7 miles away. There was some complimentary coffee downstairs, but wasn't always replenished.
- The worst part was the infrastructure. We went through about 7 room keys. Intermittently one would work, and just as we were reaching our boiling point and had a handyman come, one of the cards would work - fooling us to think the problem was solved. It never was solve, despite repeatedly going to the front desk to tell them that there is something very wrong with the lock.
- Our phone in the room did not work. We used our cell phones to call the front desk, and rather than fix the phone, they told us \"you know you can always dial ### from your room phone.\" about 5 times. After telling them the phone was broken.

It was not fun to go through these things, not be able to get into our room when we wanted, and trudge back to the front desk every time. And when we did get in, the phone didn't work.

It was dated, a decent price, but don't expect anything to work.

The rooms are in need of a serious upgrade, as everything feels very outdated. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The phones didn’t work, and we couldn’t figure out how to connect them to the landline. The bathroom sink and toilet were extremely low to the ground (around three feet tall), so using them was uncomfortable — I’m 5’7” and my husband is 6’3”, and we both had to bend down. The AC was an older unit and very loud throughout the night, which made it hard to sleep. The location was nice and easy to find. The best part of our stay was honestly the heated pool.

First I want to share my experience with the staff during the check in process. It turns out guests have to pay $25 parking fee per night and sign the disclosure which states the resort is not responsible for the damages caused to the car during the stay. When I asked for the copy hotel staff refused to provide at the beginning stating that this is an internal document and they cannot provide it. About 30 minutes back and forth they finally gave it me.
The hotel rooms were outdated and the there were security concerns. The door to the hotel from the parking area was broken and would not shut all the way.
My overall experience staying there was horrible and I would never book a room there again.

The room was just OK. The refrigerator didn’t work. In fact the door was open when we arrived. We closed it and it still never got cold. The room was just OK. The walls of the hallway were bare. The help was taking down relic pictures of Desi Arnez, Lucille Ball Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin. It just seemed very vanilla. Very sad. I’ve stayed here numerous times. There was just no pizzazz to this stay!
Pool was nice. The food at the pool bar was good but again this hotel was just very vanilla very plain no pizzazz actually was kind of depressing!

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. Unsanitary old. There was holes in all of the walls very disappointing when I spoke to the front desk attendant, I asked speak to Manager. There was no manager on property. when I asked you about all the holes in the walls and the uneven floors she said that they recently took steps to hopefully renovate as they were just acquired by new owners. This guy lace was gross and I want my money back.

The bed was comfortable. The bathroom door jams needed a little work. Old and cracking. The shower has some black mold on the shower floor

The staff was excellent, we had a problem with our room and we were given a upgrade. The food was great and the night shows were fabulous. We loved the pool area and the fire pit and comfortable seating..
Thank you ... we'll definitely come back to stay again soon.

This hotel is an iconic landmark. Desi and Lucy Arnaz put a lot into this place. If you are a nostalgia fan you will love this place. Sadly the amenities have not caught up to the times. The room was big with a feel of being part of the rat pack. The a/c was a throwback too. The shower was tight and once i got over the drastic changes of water temperature I got the feeling of being back at grandmas house. You knew exactly when someone flushed the toilet. The place had only one elevator making it very inconvenient if your room was in the back of the hotel. Even though I parked in the back I had to walk past my room to the front lobby, up the elevator, and then walk all the to the back of the hotel. Another throwback aesthetic of this place was the blatant disregard of our DO NOT DISTURB sign on our room by house keeping. The sound of door pounding and “house keeping!!!” being yelled into my room reminded me of the good ol days in bootcamp. Overall our experience felt like we traveled back in time. The kicker is the prices here are the only modern thing it has going for it.
