Buffet meals were good and at my visit this time Indian themed, due to majority of visitors were Indian. This was my second visit. For me the price to quality of service ratio for Radisson is excellent.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is convenient, just a 5-minute drive to the city, and also walkable if you prefer.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great variety of options and everything tasted delicious. The dinner buffet was not bad, though not as impressive as breakfast. Overall, a comfortable stay and a hotel we would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, my stay did not meet the usual Radisson standards. The check-in process was very slow and the staff seemed unsure of what to do. The room had an unpleasant smell, felt very basic, and the electricity went out during my stay, taking time to fix. Overall, this property does not reflect the quality I normally expect from Radisson.

The staff of the hotel are nice and the location is good we also liked the small gym and the pool area. What was not very good was room cleanliness and repair - water kettle broken, stainless steel hand rail black spotted, AV ducts moldy , Shower groutings moldy etc etc. TV had to be serviced, the I room writing desk was stained.

My family and I stayed at Radisson during November 2025 in lake view suites and deluxe and triple rooms as we were a large group. We were received with a warm welcome from the first day and were taken care of well by the entire staff. The Radisson Kandy is clean and well organized with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The hotel is also close to all of the local main attractions and the city center. We highly recommend staying at the Radisson Kandy for any traveller.

Most staff were polite and helpful, disappointed with our check-in experience. Felt ignored and didn’t help when we couldn’t connect to the WiFi. Restaurant was good, we ate from the al a carte menu. Plenty of choice at breakfast.
Nice clean room, bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable so good nights sleep.
Was a bit out the way, didn’t feel we could walk into town on our own (2 senior ladies).

The hotel rooms are a good standard, rooms perfect, very well cleaned and modern, breakfast was great and good value for money, staff are friendly. The general atmosphere is as you would expect from hotels in this price range. Only negative is the taxes that are added on to the meal prices and drinks bought when we checked out. The prices should be transparent when ordering. This is what I am used to in the UK, but I understand different countries operate differently. It’s on a steep hill but there are Tuk Tuks everywhere and costs about LKR 200 to LKR 500 into town, also Kandy is lively with lots to see and do. Finally though, this hotel I would recommend, it’s excellent and we were very happy there.

Special mention to the reception staff who facilitated an early check-in - this was much appreciated as I was travelling with a 2 year old which helped with his feeding and rest after a long train journey from Colombo in the morning.

**Ramada Inn Colombo International Airport – Review**

I recently stayed at the Ramada Inn near Colombo International Airport and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located for easy access to the airport, though the surrounding area is quiet and lacks much to do, making it ideal for those looking for a peaceful stopover.

The hotel staff were truly exceptional. They went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed, always with a warm and friendly attitude. Despite the hotel being on a budget, the staff’s dedication to providing excellent service really stood out, and I was very appreciative of their efforts.

The hotel itself is a bit dated, and the buildings show signs of age. Some areas could use renovation to bring them up to modern standards, but it didn’t detract too much from my stay. The rooms were still comfortable and well-maintained, and the cleanliness was impressive.

One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The restaurant offered a wonderful selection, and I was especially pleased with the French entrees, which were a pleasant surprise. I didn’t try the buffet, but the à la carte menu was delicious, reasonably priced, and well-prepared.

Overall, while the Ramada Inn Colombo could benefit from some updates, the exceptional service from the hotel staff and the great food made my stay enjoyable and comfortable.

In many ways, a standard business hotel--but one in an exotic and interesting location. My room was fine, but the views of the lake and the hills/mountains opposite were really nice. Just be sure to keep your sliding doors locked: there really are monkeys and they really can get onto your balcony -- even though that looks impossible at first! I originally booked a three night stay, which I ended up extending a couple days. The general manager and staff worked hard to keep me in the same room and set up a day tour to Sigiriya and Dambulla (and I added an elephant safari). I'm sure I paid a bit more by going through the hotel, but the driver/guide they found me was excellent. The hotel has some good eating options and there is an excellent pizza place just a bit further up the hill. The location is great: a short walk down to the lake and maybe 15 minutes further into the city center, an enjoyable lakeside hike. Overall, a very solid choice in Kandy.

This is the place to book!

My third time at this hotel. While I generally prefer to support a boutique hotel, all exceptions are made to come to Radisson Kandy. And I have yet to question our choice!
Irfan, the front desk manager has a superior grip on the comings and going at this hotel. No guest question /problem/concern goes unaddressed-- and his staff follows his lead. The trainees are really more like interns and on a clear management track. The level of anticipation, overall Customer Service, and passion for your enjoyment is unrivaled here in Kandy. As \"repeaters\", we were greeted like utter royalty, given an upgrade and lovely chocolates in the room as well as comped for breakfast. I can't remember feeling so welcomed anywhere in the world! The staff works
Harmoniously and they have a heart for their guests. You feel it, despite the hotel's size.
The hotel functions quite well and the restaurants have superior lake views with quite good food to boot--- and even live music (not deafening, quite pleasant, see photo!) at one rooftop spot. Where their seemingly endless repertoire floated from one language to another based on guest requests-- rather astonishing!
Management has made many improvements and, as the largest hotel in Kandy, strives for seamless one or two night turnovers and I can confirm that they have got it down. They are developing a concept for a Spa (beyond the current one)-- so no doubt, visit #4 will provide further delight! You will be GLAD that you have picked this hotel.

Great stay, left luggage was alittle unsettling.

Lovely stay in this hotel. It is beautiful perched on abit of a hill and if you are lucky you will have great views over the Kandy lake. Very convenient to get to the train station. The breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly.
One point that slightly surprised me… I was alittle early when I arrived and my room wasn’t quite ready. I asked if I could leave the luggage with the hotel and I would go out for a walk and come back in an hour or so. They said fine but I was surprised to find the luggage was just left by the front entrance of the hotel by some staff who maned the doors. They were very busy with coach trips arriving and leaving, the luggage could easily have been taken on purpose or by accident. I stay in many international hotels and usually there is always a concierge or separate room luggage is taken to and you’re given a ticket to collect this… considering this is a Raddison hotel it was strange none of this was in place. It is a great hotel but please be aware of this if you want to leave luggage, there seem to be no system.

This is a good hotel and staff are very attentive & helpful. I was particularly impressed with our room cleaner (Chamika) who every day surprised us with a beautiful towel sculpture left on the bed. He is really talented!

I was, however, disappointed with the room lightin. You have to put every room light on during the evening (waste of electricity) and even then the rooom was not bright enough. It would be far more economical and practical to have a main ceiling light.

Probably the worst hotel we have stayed in.
Main issue was the cleanliness, hopefully i can add photos to this review to show the state on the Bedding, looked like the sheets hadnt been washed since someone deficated on them!!! As for the smell in the room, what looked like someone died on the carpets and the food looking like it had been out for days!
If we could have moved hotels that evening we would have, but it was late when we arrived.
Staff response to the state of the rooms....\"well it's one of our nicest rooms....\" but it doesnt matter if its so dirty!
Anyway, we checked out the next day rather than staying for the 3 nights booked.
The general manager said \"he understood and that we should apply for the refund of the 2 unused nights through Expedia and that he would sort it out at his end. The team at Expedia were very helpful but guess what, refund rejected.
Having now tried twice to contact Radisson directly with no response we decided to do this review.
Having had an amazing stay at the Radisson Red in Cape Town recently, it is not the chain, but i think a management change in Kandy would help!
One final word of warning, the TukTuk driver in the smart white outfit who hangs around the hotel and is friends with the luggage guy at the hotel should be barred. He is aggressive, threatens you when you just want to walk to the Lake, threatens taxi drivers! Beware.
I dont like giving these kinds of reviews but needs doing to save other travellers.

As with so many places, it is greatly about the service. The front desk staff was wonderful, even the bellman was enthusiastic and helpful Thebreakfast buffet was varied and having a coffee machine with multiple choices of beverages was efficient and moved the lines along. The table outside were nice but could have had some kind of shade cover in place. The sunrise from my fifth floor balcony was breathtaking.

So I am high level elite status with both Marriott and IHG over a long period, so mostly stay within those hotel groups across the globe given both the perks and the rewards bookings with points. Kandy did not have that option, and with a 1.5yo baby didn't feel adventurous enough to try a boutique unknown brand (even with good reviews), so we chose this Radisson as a known 'brand'. It had been 11 years since we last stayed at a Radisson anywhere and that was Puerto Rico.
For reference also this was a personal trip to Kochi in Kerala with my spouse and 1.5yo child and overall our first trip to Sri Lanka and Kandy specifically. We stayed for 2 nights and booked a suite room overlooking the beautiful Kandy Lake, and also included the breakfast option (which was a buffet).

Overall, like mostly everywhere in Sri Lanka, the service was excellent throughout the hotel from check-in to housekeeping to breakfast and rooftop servers and concierge. Everyone did their best to try and help out, and were attentive to our baby.

The room while not massive for a suite, still had 2 main rooms, purely a stand-in shower, a large balcony overlooking the lake . And because we were in the corner we got a city view as well as some of major sights like Sawtooth Buddhist temple with its gold roof. It was modern, and they well provided for our baby with extra garbage bags, crib, etc.
The breakfast had very good Sri Lankan food, as well as some western options. Hoppers on demand are always a highlight.

Old hotel, beds & shower good but nothing special. Just for staying over it is fine and good located to explore Kandy.

Lovely stay

A lovely hotel with great service. Lovely room but a little worn in places. Rooftop pool was lovely and bar/restaurant. Breakfast was good. Room had a view of Kandy lake. Hotel was walking distance to the lake.

Won't be recommending this place.

The hotel doesn't live up to the expectation. The staff really should get more training In customer service. It's a chain, but a sri lankan chain - they are doing things of how they see it in their own perspective. Even though the hotel is new it is already very \"tired\". All of the mirrors were foggy (maybe that's the design?). The breakfast was no good at all. Could've stayed at a much nicer place with greater service for half the price!
