the room was clean and the staff were great. We had 2 one bedroom apartments. Ours had celophane patches on the lounge. the 2nd apartment had faulty aircon so was always hot and it took some 10 days to rectify. Additionally there was a burn the size of a plate in the carpet. During a few nights there was significant noise and children running down the hall at night. It was not up to their normal standard and not sure we will go back for a fourth visit.

Apartments were great we had the executive so had a washer and dryer, it had all the amenities we needed. Pool loungers would have been great and some more plants around the pool to detract from the concrete. Great location for Mitchell Street being two blocks away - was very quiet but easy access to Woolies across the street.

Pillows were all a bit thick - a range would be great.
No duvet on bed (only sheet) which wasn't that comfortable.
A shelf in the shower to put stuff would be helpful.

Room was just a bit tired and dated - valance falling off bed, drawers in bedside tables not working, burn mark on desk, etc.

I liked the security of the premises, especially the car park area. Once our car was parked we were inside the security of the hotel. Good clean rooms with a large ensuite. Easy book in, friendly staff. Stayed for two nights and Will definitely be back again 👍

There’s nothing luxurious about this place

The previous page about parking did not give me a choice. We had to pay $10 a day for the parking inside the building. That’s something I hope to know when booking.
The room was simple and tired, wifi was shamefully bad. Other than the good location, there was not much for this place.

This apartment had everything we needed and good value, separate bedroom, kitchen, laundry (although the washing machine didnt work and was replaced when requested and the stove was dangerous!) Sadly the property could be so much more with a little updating of amenities. The dryer didn't function either, just tumbled hot wet clothes, the electric kitchen stove was of the old style and the indicator knobs spun around so you didn't know what setting or which hotplate you were on! Very dangerous and yet there was a note on the wall saying if smoke detector summoned fire brigade the tenant was liable for costs..... not cool! Bathroom needed updating; taps corroded and silicone had mold underneath. Good points; excellent air conditioning, quiet room (3rd floor), nice swimming pool, a comfy bathtub, close to city center and shops. Woolworths on the next block.

The Hotel is geographically perfect with shopping, transport and dining choices all with walking distance.
Checking in after 10pm is hassle free as the staff message a code number to your phone for the after hours key box, then they clearly explain entering the hotel.
The hotel is quiet, feels very safe and secure.
The staff are friendly and respectful.
My room was perfect for me, with a very comfortable bed, and I enjoyed the fixed containers of creams/ shampoo. This made the shower very safe and no slippery floors or loose soap.
The night view from the room was delightful and it was great to beable to open the small sliding windows.
Totally recommend this hotel

Convenient to a lot of areas, you could walk to the grocery store. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy, the kitchenette was well stocked with pans, crockery and everything that was needed. Microwave, iron and ironing board. Enjoyed our stay.

VALUE FOR MONEY GREAT RETURNS

Overall excellent and convenient spot in city next to Woolworths for your daily needs.
Room was a studio and very comfortable for 4 night stay. Having a kitchenette came in handy and the pool was just across from where I was staying including lift. Daily room service. Self service Laundry no charge. Would stay again.

Only inconvenience was the fire drill but then again you never know when a real one would be.

Apartment complex didn’t really look anything like the photos online. There is an ant problem in the rooms. The air conditioner broke which made the room unbearable. The staff were friendly and nice but we cut our stay short because the accomodation was so terrible.

This property met our expectations on both price and location. All staff we encountered were well trained friendly, efficient & professional. Our room was well presented, clean & functional. We had a hire car which we paid $10 per night for secure onsite parking. Woolworths city store was just 2 minutes walk away.

Friendly and helpful staff. Everything was very good. Room cleaning was every day. Location is excellent, walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Bus stop is 50 m from the door. Good swimming pool and BBQ area. I would stay again and recommend Metro Advance apartments to tourists. Great value for your money!!

The Metro was ideally located being a 20 minute from the convention centre. Reception staff were excellent being very helpful and reliable. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable although kitchen utensils a little light on. Perfect for business or holiday.

They offered a breakfast supply package that we tried since we were arriving quite late. The description suggested enough for two for an initial breakfast. In fact, it was enough for four breakfasts. Rather than a bit of an expensive indulgence, it turned out to be a good way to have breakfast handled for our Darwin visit.

The noise from drunken Indigenous also staying in the complex was not nice, it took me a while to sleep as they were loud. Perhaps security would be good to have in place for mindfulness to other people also staying there.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, a king room was two single beds together it was like sleeping on top of a pyramid. They were worn out. I had a huge hole in the ceiling that they covered with masking tape. There was only one thin sheet on the bed and no option for a quilt. The hoter water lasted about 2minutes for a shower. Cost was around $500 a night but wasn’t worth $150

Very Comfortable apart from Woolies Loading Dock.

Good location to all local outdoor attractions and food venues. Plenty of good walking paths to city centre and parks.

WARNING: Western side of complex faces onto loading dock of the Darwin Woolworths. Trucks come and go from early morning (6am) 7 days a weeks. Security gate, trucks and forklift transmit a loud beeping alert sound. Also the refrigerated truck's large compressors vibrate the windows, so be prepared for an early walk.

Staff, both front counter & house were very pleasant and helpful. Paid carparking was worth the security for overnight use.

Our kitchen & large fridge for a 5 night stay catered for us to have inhouse eating, with supermarket opposite.

Both lounge and bedroom air conditioners were functional and very quite. At times, the bedroom one was switched off and just the lounge to cool the rooms. Darwin overnight temps were 23 - 25°C

Would we stay there again? Yes - providing we can book on eastern side of facility.

After staying in this hotel for 2 weeks, we didn't even get acknowledged by reception/manager. Details for the room said they were sound proof, yet we were woken every morning around 4am to a street sweeper that goes up and down multiple times, even on weekends. Our room was only minimally tidied daily, and at least 3 days no one attended to give us fresh towels and bed wasnt made.

The room was bright, airy and spacious. The wardrobe, storage and hanging space were spacious and we were able to completely (and unusually) unpack on arrival. Housekeeping staff along with reception staff were friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the free laundry which was opened by our door key. Detergent also supplied free of charge. Position is perfect. Right in the centre of great restaurants, next door to Woolies and bus stop. The kitchenette (well set up)got plenty of use when we were hit with a Covid lockdown.

Noisy studio apartments, no soundproofing so all noise from apartments next door come through crystal clear from the interconnecting door. Was up all night both nights listening to my noisy neighbours.

Beds uncomfortable and hard, even feeling the zipper in the middle. No nice cosy quilt just a flimsy top sheet and holey blanket in the cupboard.

Wifi kept dropping out. COVID rules means that apparently only 2 people can be in the swimming pool at one time. Shower pressure was terrible and taps in bathroom kept leaking.

Only good things were the location being so convenient, and the rooms being exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly enough until I complained on check out then they just told me the manager would contact me. Still waiting, but I expect they will at some point.

I paid a reasonable cost to barely sleep and leave feeling worse than when I arrived, which is not what anybody wants out of a 'treat yourself' hotel escape in the city.

Home away from home!

We loved our stay at the Metro. Great location so everything downtown within walking distance. The staff were amazing!! Any little issue was immediately resolved. The housekeepers did and amazing job. The pool is lovely. We were very impressed at the cleanliness. The bed was not the best for a bad back but there was a bathtub for a good relaxing soak. We stayed in a one bedroom unit. We've been traveling for over a year and this place felt like home away from home. We initially booked 2 nights and kept extending our stay to 3 1/2 weeks!! Thank you Metro for making us feel at home!

The position in Darwin City was the only redeeming quality for Metro Hotel. The room was very average and old; the toilet leaked and refilled constantly, the fridge froze all food and couldn't be adjusted and the kettle didn't self cancel. I advised them on day 2 of 6 (day one being Sunday) and the kettle was replaced - that's it! The cleaning or daily service also was substandard in that they replaced used towels and straightened the bed only - no cleaning of the bathroom or any floors; no dusting or any other type of cleaning. Won't hurry back!!

Terrible from start to finish , left early due to a few issues , fighting in the hallways between guests . Police needed to be called , noisy outside and in , room not cleaned or provided with full amenities. Front desk staff argumentative and aggressive. I would give it a definite miss.
